Physical Description

"Siege", by Kyoung Hwan Kim

In another life, it was said that to see Kiri Vallyae take to the battlefield was to see certain death. She was described as "a flower that blooms to end humanity"; Which was a pretty way of saying that despite the absolute carnage she left in her path, puberty and Kiri were pretty good friends; Her body filling out in adolescence while her physical lifestyle kept her relatively slim and flexible. She has fair skin, with a hint of peach warmth to her cheeks. She was renowned for having extremely long, straight, and silky raven-black hair that she often tied into a high ponytail which still stretched as low as her shins. She had eyes as clear and pure as the azure skies above, often steeled and narrowed as they switched from target to target.

Kiri rarely wore armor into battle; No true warrior of her caliber did. Besides bandages to tape down her hands, feet, and sensitive body parts, the most she typically wore into battle was a special- designed gorget-- one from which tassles designed with her family's insignia, the crow--and a steel tasset belt, attached to which was a metal tasset on each side which displayed her clan's symbol as well. And, honestly, that was it; one might call it 'skimpy' or 'scantily clad', but had you seen her fight at the battle of Tuor, you'd hold your tongue. Or die. Or hold your tongue and die! Whichever might add more to her legend.

So many 'was's' and 'would's in her appearance, you're probably thinking; That is because for several thousand years, no one has actually seen 'Kiri' and lived to tell the tale. No, typically whom you're likely to see is actually "Siege", which is a massive set of heavy-set, heavy-duty animated set of armor. True to it's name, Siege is MASSIVE-- often times not fitting through doors vertically or horizontally. It was forged from the hardest and most adaptable metals of ancient Le'Raana, and designed to be capable of holding a human body of at LEAST Kiri's stature with ease. It doesn't have glowing eyes, or floating joints; If you didn't know better, you would assume that an equally large woman (because yes, it's voice is feminine) stood within the massive armor, but no, 'tis mostly hollow. Siege typically carries with it a massive war axe; Easily it's own size in length, Siege effortlessly wields it in battle, much to the constant annoyance of Kiri.

Personality Siege usually has the personality of someone lazy and careless. One might even argue that it's flat-out stupid, based on some of the interactions it's held with others. Deep inside, however, she's rather kind and cares a lot for those she considers a friend-- even Kiri, despite their spiteful relationship. At times, she can be rude, stubborn, and prone to resolve anything with violence, the truth is that she only really wants to have a normal life (whatever that means for an living suit of armor), be properly washed and polished, and have more money (in that specific order). Something she's never told anyone (though Kiri has long since figured it out) is that she has constant nightmares about her creation and death, causing her to "wake up" tired, worried, scared, and trying to forget them.

Kiri, by comparison, was a beast. A goddess of war given mortal form, she lived, breathed, and ate combat. She was (and still is) highly proud of her skills in combat, as well as the number of kills she'd scored without taking a single blow in battle. This desensitization to the horrors of war that she was born and raised in causes her to struggle to comprehend the modern era of peace that humanity and all of it's partnering races have taken to, wherein fighting is practically prohibited and everyone talks about their feelings and whatnot. That said, she does not hate it, and admires how far humanity has come since her own time, as well as the creations and new forms of competition and magic they have designed. Indeed, Kiri is a prideful and simple woman, loyal to those whom she enters the servitude of, and eager to make herself known as the great sword god that she proclaimed herself to be in her age.

Magic/Abilities

Kiri once killed 7 men with a single swing of her blade and one thousand steps, taken in a single dash. She once, during a war at sea, jumped from ship to ship, slaughtering every able-bodied warrior on board before jumping to the next. She once scaled the side of a mountain with nothing more than her bare feet-- her hands tied behind her back, mouth covered by cloth-- in less than an hour. It's said that J'iong Haku-Lo, the great six-armed titan of myth, wrestled with Kiri for 7 days and 6 nights, before conceding defeat to her before the end of the 7th night. This was all thousands of years before Kiri had the time to, from within her stasis of captivity, master her mind and learn to tap into the latent magical prowess within her by sheer willpower alone. My point? Kiri is simply built different.

Siege, by comparison, is simply... built. Having no 'vulnerable' parts beneath her armor, Siege can theoretically fight without rest, or worrying about injuries. She is every bit as strong as the person who would've been capable of wearing her-- able to wield her giant poleaxe without any particular strain, and with impressive dexterity no less.

History

Long ago, in a time forgotten by Le'Raanan scholars and historians, a great and powerful swordswoman was born amidst an era of chaos and warfare on the continent. From childhood, this great warrior showed peerless skill with the blade, quickly growing to become a powerful soldier under the tutelage of her elder sister, a warlord of the age of chaos. So powerful, in fact, that in her adolescent years, her sister had set her to the battlefield and watched as she flew across the lands on foot, slicing through enemy frontlines or taking down key targets before they even knew death was upon them, only to vanish the moment she took their lives. She developed a title among her enemies-- "Wind Goddess Kiri", the flower of the battlefield that bloomed to end humanity. Kiri enjoyed the warfare; Not because she loved killing, but because she wanted to make her sister proud.

Alas, jealousy and unwarranted fears led to a fateful night, when Kiri's sister turned on her, and secretly sent assassins to kill or bring her to submit. Kiri, of course, killed them with ease-- then the soldiers that followed, then the army that stood between her and the one who'd declared war on her. She fought her way to her sister, who attempted to use her proficiency in sorcery to trap her body into a suit of armor which would forevermore be loyal only to her. She nearly succeeded, too-- Kiri, however, was far too strong-willed to serve anyone unless of her own accord, and fought her to the point of landing a decisive blow on her sister. Alas, her sister completed the spell, and thus Kiri was magically sealed away inside of a giant suit of living armor. Trapped within, Kiri was locked into a sort of soul-stasis; Able to move, think, and so on, but unable to age, and unable to escape the magic armor, and unable to be heard from within it. Her sister, succumbing to wounds, died moments later.

Here lies the rub. The suit was designed to be loyal to the caster of the spell, but as the spell completed, said caster died; Thus, the armor, which was capable of thinking for itself now (due to not having anyone to answer to) was at a loss for what to do next. It was only then that it heard Kiri's voice, echoing from within it. She explained, to the best of her situation, what had occurred to bring the living armor into this... "pointless existence", as she called it, and instructed the armor-- "Find my sister-- she's got to be around here somewhere-- and force her to undo this curse!" The armor, having no real reason to not comply, and no actual clue that the 'sister' that was supposed to undo the curse was laying dead at it's feet, left the immediate area and traveled the lands for what felt like, to Kiri, an eternity-- but was only actually a couple years. During that time, the two bonded, as you do-- Kiri affectionately gave the armor the name 'Siege', and the armor would affectionately get into arguments with her about where urine goes when a human is in soul-stasis within the body of a suit of armor, or Siege accidentally crushing foods that Kiri would have her describe to her when they would come across, before squeezing them into her armor in one of the very few spots of her gear where she could. They were like true siblings; Sister and... suit of armor, and lived in psuedo-harmony like this for some time, before Siege, clumsy idiot that she was, accidental tripped while on an adventure and fell into a bottomless hole which it would take her thousands and thousands of years to climb out of.

She... just got back to the top. Like, a few minutes ago, honestly.
