"Whisper," a moniker she adopted at the suggestion of the traveler that found her and led her to civilization when she appeared, after they noticed that her voice always sounded like a whisper, regardless of her actual volume. She regrets the fact that she never actually learned their name (or really much about them at all) before they left.

Physical Description
Completely pitch black, such that she appears to be no more than a silhouette. Even in direct bright light, no depth nor detail can be seen on her body, but she has large, white spots in place of her eyes, which almost appear to glow in comparison to her skin, and her teeth are just as strikingly white. The eyespots usually look roughly oval-shaped, but they change shape to form various expressions. She is of average proportions and has wavy hair, which she keeps roughly shoulder length.
Personality
Shy and timid, but determined. Determined to do what, exactly? Even she's not sure half the time. Kind and gentle, but will not hesitate to defend herself or those she cares about if necessary. Strange whistling sounds can often be heard coming from her, the sound of usually brief, distinct notes, playing sometimes melodically and sometimes randomly, seeming to emanate from her entire body. When asked about this, she usually says she was "talking to herself" or something of the sort.
Magic/Abilities
Shadow Movement:
When touching a more-or-less vertical surface that exceeds her size (even if she has to crouch or pose strangely to achieve this), she may "enter" it over the course of a few seconds, becoming two-dimensional and weightless, appearing as a shadow, with her eyespots appearing as holes in the shadow when she faces outwards. She may also "exit" it at will (also taking a few seconds), provided it is still sufficiently upright (should a surface fall forward or back to an angle shallower than ~60° or be rotated more than ~45° sideways while she inhabits it, she will be unable to exit the surface until it is returned to a vertical position). While inhabiting a surface, she does not need to breathe and is unable to produce any sound or physically influence anything she didn't bring in with her, even if it's touching the surface (though she can still be harmed by outside influences damaging the surface, and if a surface she inhabits takes too much damage she'll be ejected involuntarily, even if it isn't upright). Anything she carries while entering or exiting a surface will transform with her, aside from living things, which will remain outside the surface.
Blend In:
Due to her rather atypical complexion, she becomes effectively invisible in darkness. Additionally, when inhabiting a surface, she can hide in any shadow large enough to cover her, becoming indistinguishable from it.
Disfiguration:
To a certain extent, she can alter her form at will. She can change her proportions enough to take the shape of most humanoids within 6" of her height and 50 lbs of her weight, though she will always be the same shade of colorless void. Additionally, she may manifest up to four extra appendages, which may serve a variety of purposes, growing hands, eyes, mouths, claws, spikes, etc. to suit her needs (such features can also appear on her normal limbs, if she desires it).
Ageless:
Though she hasn't realized it yet, she never ages, and as such will never die unless killed by someone or something.
Starlight Eyes:
She can see in total darkness as if it were broad daylight. The catch is that actual broad daylight makes her eyes uncomfortable because she's sensitive to light.

Mysterious Traveler:
Well, okay, the traveler wasn't really that mysterious, but Whisper never learned much about them! She hopes to find them again someday and repay them for helping her out when she first appeared.
History
Her earliest memory is waking up in a small cave about 2 years ago. After crawling out of the cave, she walked until she came upon a trail, where she was fortunately discovered by a friendly traveler. She was given some clothes and a small amount of money, then taken to the nearest town and dropped off there. Since then, she's mostly been working odd jobs and generally just scraping by, hitchhiking from town to town.
