Physical Description
Keegan retains his boyish features with his straw-colored hair, sun-kissed skin, and baby-blue eyes. He has a carefree smile that rarely leaves his face as he is always ready to laugh. His body is strong from his work in the stables and his hands are roughened and callused from the labor.
Traditionally he wears thick-soled boots and well-worn breeches along with a light-colored tunic. Keegan often smells of hay and horses no matter how often he bathes because of the amount of time he spends in the stables.
His only flaw is that Keegan is completely blind from an accident where he was kicked in the head by an easily spooked horse when he was young.

Personality
He is a sweet and carefree young man who is always willing to try new things. His blindness is not so much a handicap for him as a reason to live life to the fullest. Keegan often will talk of the adventures he wants to have one day and the people he wants to meet once he earns enough money. He is fearless in the face of his blindness.
The young man also is very charitable and thinks nothing of helping others first and worrying about himself second. He has a very strong affinity to animals of all kinds and they to him. Keegan is almost never without his furry friend "His Nibs," who he has raised since she was a kitten.

History
Keegan has worked for the Lancaster family for as long as he can remember. He was an orphan since birth and was raised by one of the Lancaster cooks. Instead of staying put like he was supposed to though he would often wander off to hide in the barn with all the animals. Eventually, the horsemaster at the time got tired of him always sneaking about and decided to put him to work.
Since then, Keegan was trained to respect the animals and thereby in turn earn respect. He learned quickly and worked hard. It was as he was learning that the sweet granddaughter of the Mistress of the House came to live there.
He was completely enamored with her. But, being a shy boy at the time, he never could bring himself to ever say anything to her. Every time he saw her his mouth would turn as dry as sawdust. Keegan thought she looked so lonely and wanted nothing more than to make her smile.
Unfortunately, not long after she arrived the growing boy had an accident with a nervous horse and was kicked in the head. Over the weeks and months that followed, Keegan would find his vision turn to black shapes shadows and eventually into a permanent blackness as his sight left him for good.
Now older the young man continues to work for the Mistress of the House as a paid albeit blind stableboy with a deep affection in his heart for her granddaughter, Nadya.
