Reajh today, the sea tomorrow and enough money to fill his pockets had the notorious Mordecai for hire, Krah Mordeth, more than content. Lord Bachloach was known to be a stingy man, except where his life was concerned, and when he found out he was dating a 'witch', he had her disposed of but she violently fought back and he nearly lost his eye from a powerful bolt of lighting from her wicked fingers. Before any guards could get to her, she vanished and Lord Bachloach feared for his life.
Seeking a body guard, and someone to accompany him to Serendipity until he was sure the lover was found, killed or cooled off, he didn't want to take any chances and hired someone who'd hire another man who would find and hire the famous mordecai for hire, a certain Krah Mordeth, and would bring him to the city. And they met, a negotiation was made, and soon a caravan was set off to the sea. And though Lord Bachloach was ever looking over his shoulder, fearful his former lover might find him and castrate him with her magic, he was more than relieved when they made it all the way to the cost of Folkvar.
The ship was already set to sail, a man having been hired to ride ahead and make arrangements, and the Serendipity vessel titled
The Sea Cricket would bring him to his destination, the Sea side City of Cerenis. It didn't take incredibly long for his things to be loaded onto The Sea Cricket, for he packed relatively light (considering he was a lord of some substantial wealth, even if he was too far removed to be in any sort of line for a seat of power). But the fact things were going as planned, and the winds were in his favor,Lord Bachloach took to a tavern with his men on the evening of their voyage. They'd start sailing once the sun would set, and move southward, using the stars as their guide. And after most of the crew was thoroughly happy and drunk, a call to board the vessel was made.
But there was only one problem-
The hired help went missing. Panicked, Lord Bachloach searched all over, inquiring as to the where abouts of Mister Krah Mordeth. A snickering barmaid pointed tot he stair well, and soon the lord was ascending, and when he reached the room in question and opened the door, he could only stare in horror for a few moments before closing the door. And his face went white as a bed sheet, heart thumping in his chest as his back pressed against the door.
A grunt between a woman's wails of pleasure could be heard as Krah called through the now closed door,
"You need somethin' boss?"
And now the lord's face was red. He grit his teeth, and stammered, "The-the ship leaves this hour."
Another grunt, more moans asnt eh pounding of the bed against the wall could be heard, it's legs whining in protest as Lord Bachloach swallowed the tightening knot in his throat and felt his palms and pits grow sweaty.
"I only need half of that!" Krah said with a laugh through the door. "See you on the ship!"
Feeling that was more than adequate of a reply (and wanting any excuse to get away from that scene), the lord rushed back down stairs and motioned for his men to make haste. While they all boarded the vessel, he got the rest of hte men settled, but after another hour rolled by....
Lord Bachloach began to get worry. Was the mordecai not coming? He said only half hte hour was needed..
Had he forgotten?
Did he change his mind?
And nervously the man's eyes searched the dock, the pier and the gang plank for any signs of him-
But to no avail.
