CH. I – Painting a Portrait
Though he doesn’t seem it in character, Thoronir is a man with proud features.  His long light brown hair, sometime seen with a tinge of gold on it, is pushed back and braided on the side, some braids crowning around the back of his head and holding his hair out of his face, while a few linger along the sides, and in the back of his head.  His nose is long and broad, with a rigid bridge and pointed tip, his brow is of medium height with round, thoughtful eyes, and medium-high cheekbones.  His jaw is fairly straight-lined, though not as broad as his father’s leading down to a pointed chin, just below the curvature of full-lips.  A thin, line of a light brown beard grows along his jaw, though is a little stubbly and ‘feathered’ since he is so young.

+ NOTABLE MARKS +
He’s had a few scars from scuffles with others, a few cuts along his arms, and chest, and a small albeit prominent series of slashes along his right cheek.  They are thin and minute but visible to one close enough to him.

CH II – Mental Make-up
Thoronir has always been rather curious by nature.  He’s a good-natured fellow, quiet, but brave and will stand up for himself if he must.  But he lacks much of the aggressiveness that would make him a more prominent member within Vahltrysse.  Instead he is forthright, saying what must be said and doesn’t always follow what others believe to be true.  Yet he is sensitive to some things, often thinking before he speaks, and knows when to hold his opinion when he must.

As a result, he can be easily perceived as lesser than other males, in respect and rank.  He is empathetic to others, sensitive to other’s emotions more easily than any man would in his tribe, and often tries to keep them in consideration, though he cannot always understand what he feels himself.  Thoronir has always had an adventurous spirit, and the desire to venture beyond the borders of the Grand Steppe has always been strong within him.  He knows the dangers of the Forbidden Places, and while he is as afraid as most children are who were raised with the stories of the Bogdahd would be, but slowly but surely, his curiosity usually over comes his fear.

+ FAITH +
He is as devout as any man of his tribe would be, raised by his father as best he could in their stout religion.  As the son of the healer, Thoronir believes less in the invasion of the body by evil spirits than does that ailments are often caused by lack of care on the part of the person who had grown ill.  He is faithful to Athra and the law she enacts to her people, her children of the Vahltrysse and trusts her judgment.  But however, he differentiates the will of the Gods and the will of the Priestesses who are charged with interpreting that will.

+ HABITS +
Thoronir is studious and patient, even in moments of trying frustration.  He is observant and careful, easily learning from his mistakes, and often faithful to the methods he is taught, unless he feels he can find a more proficient way to exact them.

CH III – Social

+ RELATIONSHIPS +
Brynhalla, companion, Alive 19
Thanneik, Father, Alive 54
Vuldur, Fellow Hunter, Rival/Friend, 36

CH IV – Abilities / Skills
+ HEALER +
Being the son of the village healer has afforded Thoronir the knowledge of various plants and animals that contain special properties that aid in the health of a person, and to aid the overall health of the tribe.  A healer’s knowledge is often passed down from father to son, or to the eldest child, and other students may earn the right to learn if they are worthy enough.  Many hunters have a general knowledge of what plants are good to eat and which are not, but a Healer has a deeper understanding of the plant and parts of living organisms that allows them to get the most out of them and purify those which have deadly properties, or even separate those fatal aspects and utilize them in poisons.  Thoronir has vast knowledge from  his studies and can recognize different plants based on touch, taste, smell and appearance.

+ HUNTER +  Pending
Thoronir was not particularly skilled in any weapon, being the son of the village healer, but he desires to be a great hunter, and to use that vocation to be able to travel beyond the borders of the village.  He eventually learns to favor the broadsword, javelins, the boomerang, and spears in some cases.

+ KALIL +
Though he does not know it yet, Thoronir has the abilities of a Kalil, the chosen protector of his Valkyrie, though they have not been made apparent.  Kalils are superior warriors in skill and cunning.  They are stronger and faster and fatigue less than other mortal men.  They are charged with protecting their Valkyrie at the price of their life, and must always be loyal to them.  They are declared Kalils through the pact made with their Valkyrie known as the Blood Oath, a ritual overseen by a Priestess and often blessing their bond.  Kalils are warriors not easily trifled with, or slain, and those that underestimate them often regret doing so.

CH V – Gear / Equipment
+ TRAVEL SKIN +
A pouch he often carries with him on outdoor excursions containing different plants and animal parts used to practice alchemy and property combinations.

He also carries with him on hunting trips a bow and arrow, a boomerang, and a broadsword.

CH VI – Reflections of the Past
The son of the healer of Vahltrysse, Thoronir has been raised from birth to take his father’s plce when he came of age.  But Thoronir had always been something of a dreamer, with a deep longing to explore the world beyond their village.  However, he is obedient to his duty and his family.  His mother died when he was small, and his father did his best to rais him on his own.  He has a vague recollection of his mother, but rumor had it that she was a witch woman from the outerlands, a foreigner who had seduced and worked her magic on his father into falling in love with her, but Thoronir had largely ignored those rumors.  His father never spoke much over her, save to explain that she was a beautiful woman who loved Thoronir as much as she had loved him.

Thoronir desires to become a hunter, to venture into the wilds beyond the tribe, but his place as the healer’s son, prevents him earning the respect it would take to gain a proper teacher to train him, and more importantly, to see him as an equal.  His first attempt to challenge the lead hunter of the tribe for the right to tutelage, Vuldur, was met with a brutal beating, for his own weapon’s skill was pathetic compared to Vuldur.

He recovered from his wounds, and partly from his humiliation, and knew that if he wished to become a great hunter, he would have to practice his skills, but he knows he cannot become anybody without someone of considerable skill to train him.
