Calent digested her story before nodding towards her, his green eyes never leaving hers.
"Angsar must have blessed you. A few of the men were killed, and we have yet to find your father."
Then the question about himself, he frowned. "I fair ok. Now that I know you're safe, we can continue looking for your father now."
And as if on cue, Duke Harold came laughing over the hillside, arrow at the ready as the stag leaped into the air. The arrow sunk clean into it, and the animal was downed.
He was galloping through the valley below them, paused only a moment later to turn around and observe..
"Ah, so that's where the pair of you went. I should have known better than to allow my newly engaged daughter on a hunt with her betrothed," he teased, then as he tucked his bow away he gestured towards the stag.
"But it seems I've won this hunting contest."
And if his jesting was right, Calent might have won another...
Then again, Harold was a trusting man, and he was only glad to see both his daughter and her intended, alright and safe after such a storm.
"Did you see that cyclone? It was almost bigger than our castle in Highheart!" he reported.
