Physical Description
Average height for a Connlaothian, with a shorter and stalkier build than some of the other knights he knows, Clayton (or most call him 'Jack')- Stands not so imposing, with enough muscles built on him from what knightly duties he's forced to perform, plus he grew up on the streets and well, those times weren't really pretty. It's why his nose is a bit... less than perfect, and he's got a chip on one tooth, which he tries to hide as best he can. Other than that, he was actually blessed with pretty nice teeth!

With dark brown hair, that's forever seemingly messy, and a short kept beard, Jack has beady, pale blue eyes that are set back within his head and high cheek bones and a long, but strong jaw. If his hair were to grow any longer (and sometimes it does) little wisps of curls start forming on the end, which irritate him since sometimes - the bloody things poke him in the eye! He also has some sort of a beard growing, mostly cropped short- other times trimmed into a simple goatee (but really, the man just can't decide...)

Personality
Clayton, or Jack, as it were, has a bit of a chip on his shoulder. But he keeps it there for defensive purposes. Life on the street was hard growing up, so he has quite a mouth on him, mostly one he uses to narrate (yes, sometimes he talks to himself and will narrate what is happening..) and does this in hopes to fuel his own ego to keep him going. Other wise, he can become lost in a distant stare. A contemplative sort, Jack is easy going- or so he tries to be, but certain things just make him extremely uptight- and he's not afraid to voice it. He doesn't like snakes and spiders, after all. IN a sense, he can be a ball of nerves.

He holds a soft spot for children, particularly orphans or ones that are sad. It's not uncommon for him to revisit the orphanage from his youth and put on 'puppet' shows for the kids. He figures, why the hell not? If he were their age, he would have loved to have such a show. Besides, it's a good excuse now a days to get away from his Knightly duties (though he was never the best one for it anyway) Training? Who needs it! He used to brawl in the street. He can break any man's nose with his fist and sweep kick his opponent into tomorrow! YEAH!

Magic/Abilities
He's a Snow man! Well.. he has magic over ice and.. well, snow.. so.. get it? 8D
(slightly inspired by Disney's Frozen!) So just think Elsa <3 (except he can't bring 'snow' to life)

Sword- as good as he has to be. He is a knight after all. But only when people are looking...

Brawling- Good with his fists, and that's what he feels more comfortable with, and it's also how he got his nick name- 'Jack in the Box'. Boxing and Brawling is how he made his living when he was on the streets. It's also how he got a chip on his tooth and a more busted up nose. It also explains a few of the scars on his face, and..t he cocky attitude he can give.

Relationships
Aunt Genny- the Aunt that 'saved' him from the street and cleaned him up nice and shiny and helped get him back on his feet. If it weren't for her status and friendship with the Duke of ... (I'll figure out which duke later!)- he'd still just be another snotty nosed orphan on the streets. Though she would have tried to save the boy earlier, she had no idea where he had gone off to after his parents funeral.
Aunt Genny is also the only woman EVER to call him by his first real name. "Clayton!"

Friends- nope, ain't got them. Takes too much time. Besides, he never really learned how to make commitments and he can be quite socially awkward in large crowds. most of the time you can see him exiting... stage right...

History
Well, never a lucky one; Clayton's family was on the outs when he was born. So he was more or less born into misfortune. His parents had a hard time juggling their dwindling finances, so he was only four years old when they left their fancy home int he hills to live int he city- and soon even that became too much. His mother died within the year of moving to the city, his father always grumbling and blaming the dirty air there- saying that's what got her in the end (which is part of the reason Clayton himself can be a bit apprehensive around sickly people).

Listening to his mother dying (which took months, so he had to endure her painful wails), she eventually passed and his father found it difficult to keep their house. So he and his son took to the road after the next series of houses just weren't working and they couldn't keep the rent. By the time his father was killed, by being in the wrong place at the wrong time, Jack was all alone.

Though his father had a funeral, he attended this only briefly. He was about twelve at the time, and the grief was too much. To lose both his parents, and now to be homeless... finding out in his despair that his father left him without a penny. In fact, he left him debt!

So the night after the his father was buried he had an emotional overload and when his tears were over he woke up in a room full of ice and snow. Realizing he was some sort of mage, an abomination, the child took off running- long before his poor Aunt could get to him. For she had high hopes for him and pitied the child, but it turns out by the time she found him, he had already grown into an adult. And their reunion wasn't exactly a pleasant one. But she could tell by his looks he was her brother's son (and by that attitude!) and she took him in, cleaned him up (making him wash behind his ears and all of that!) and even helped him become a knight (of all things!) for a good friend of hers.

And it would seem this is where his luck would begin to change...
Knowing he was a mage, but doing a pretty good job of hiding it, there was still the growing sense of fear as the war grew closer and closer to home.
