It was coming up to mid day, with hardly any cloud in sight. With the sun's rays beating down onto Rya's face, squinting from the glare he gazed upon the entrance of Ketra, hoping to find more answers about his family. Walking up past the gate he noticed the market close by, deciding to have a look at the wares. Pausing for moment he noticed the town's guardsman watching him, this came to no surprise to him, after all he was a stranger to them. Simply ignoring them he headed towards the closest tavern, after all it was the best place to start asking questions and possibly some work for him.

Letting out a sigh, he entered the tavern feeling the cooler atmosphere. Smiling slightly he stepped up towards the bar. With all the locals looking at him he did feel slightly out of place, but choosing to again ignore he asked the bar keeper. "Excuse me? but do you know if there's any jobs for mercenaries going?", shortly after the keeper replied "If your looking for work lad, go check the town hall." Rya giving the keeper a smile he replied "Thanks" Suddenly an arm gripped his shoulder, turning around he noticed two large brutish men, "Hey, whats your problem?" he asked with a glare. The two men started to laugh and replied, "Strangers aren't welcome here, or some pipsqueak" Quickly Rya grabbed the hand on his shoulder, then using his strength he removed the grip. "I'm no pipsqueak, brute..." he replied with an angry tone. As the bar keeper tried to calm them down, Rya noticed the three guardsman enter the tavern. Turning to face them he threw the brute's hand almost sending him flying into a table, deciding to leave he headed towards the door but only to be stopped by the guards, "Hey whats the big deal, are people unfriendly here?"

There was always something rowdy going on in Ketra, and though such affairs were hardly a concern of a whore, Starlight found herself engaged in the rowdy moment when the guards came along and were effectively blocking the way of the street. Turns out they needed a whole fleet of them for something- for she could see a pair of guards inside that tavern, too. This, of course, made her frown. She had to get back to the Randy Peach. She had a performance to do- and it was a rarity she was allowed out on the streets unescorted, and to return late because of some commotion? She'd never forgive the bastard that would get into her way. Her boss would never let her out in the daylight again!

So with a sigh, she tried to push pass the guards.
"Excuse me, loves, but I've got to get to work..."

But a guard's spear dropped in front of her.
"Stay out of this, Peach."

Really? She recognized this man, and he'd only address her as Peach? She gave a snort, and then after hearing what the other gentlemen said about people being unfriendly around here, she had to laugh.

"You must be a stranger- in Ketra, this is our hospitality!"
And with an elbow to one guards side, she pushed back and huffed off, trying to fix her dress and not trip over her high heeled shoes. Really... now her hair was a mess. Oh well, at least some of her clients enjoyed that, as she moved a hand to rake through her thick, black hair as she tossed it out of her face and over her shoulder.

Rya frowned slightly, as the lady responded. "Yeah I gathered that..." then turning towards the guards "What do you want?" as he adjusted his armor slightly. Rya normally doesn't like fighting, so it was best to find out what the problem was. With his bow read on his back he was ready for anything.

"I'm simply here looking for any mercenary work" he responded rising his brow slightly watching the guards reaction. Of course looking for work wasn't his only reason, but he didn't want to reveal that to common folk. Shortly after the leader of the guards responded "We don't like mercenaries here.. so its best you leave" Rya shook his head, letting out a sigh "I'm not leaving in till I have finished my business here" Now Rya was on high alert, expecting a fight at any second he prepared himself as he stared into the leader's eyes.

"STARLIGHT! WAAAAAAIT!" came the wail of a much smaller girl tailing behind the curvy, dark haired beauty that passed earlier. She hadn't caught a hold of the situation, and it just so happened she was trying to pass on by when the guards seemed about ready to dive into a fight-
But then the small young woman just pushed through them and had them turning their heads.

"Hey! Watch it girl!" And just before the woman could get away, someone grabbed her armed and pulled her back roughly. And the girl grimaced as she was met with the hot and foul, angered breath of one of the guards.

"What do you think you're doing?" he asked her with a shake. The woman let out a yelp and gave a tug at her arm.

"Hey, lemme go. I've got to catch up to Starlight!"

The guard growled. "Don't you whores have any manners?"

"Don't you GUARDS have any manners? I said let go, Thymus." And she gave him a look- a very clear warning glare.

"And what do you think you'd be able to do, Candy? I could turn you into your boss for this."

'Candy' so the younger woman was called, grit her teeth as she threw back her shoulders and jutted out her chin.

"Oh yeah? Then how about I tell your wife about last night?"

And the guard's face went beat red.

"So how about you let me go?"

ANd the guard stared at her, still quite upset that she'd use that card against him- and in public! But who was he to argue with that? With a grunt, he roughly released her grip and Candy found herself falling to the cobblestone with a squeak.

Oh that was it! Scrambling to her feet as the guards returned their attention to the Rya, Candy hesitated not in stomping on the guards foot-
and boy did Thymus wail!

"I hope your foot bruises like my arm, you jerk! And look, you made my knees bleed! How's a peach to deal with that?"

But it seemed the guard was none to pleased with her reaction and ignoring Rya, he turned to Candy again and roughly took her by the arm and dragged her in close.
"You little whore! I'm gonna make you pay for that!"

And Candy didn't even wait for him to finish that statement before she kneed him, right in the groin. ANd down he went.

Candy gave a snort.
"That's what you get for messin' with a Peach!"

In the tense atmosphere, shouting could be heard from outside. Suddenly another lady entered the tavern, making noise about someone called Starlight? guessing she was the girl from earlier. Not long after she started to cause issues for one of the guards. Rya let his guard down slightly as the newcomer released part of the tension.

Rya frowned at the sight of the guard harming the lady, shaking his head he responded "Thats no way to treat a lady, no matter the person" glaring at the guard, it wasn't long before Candy took revenge, smiling slightly the guard got what he deserved. Turning his focus a guard next to the now incapacitated Thymus, "So are you gents looking to cause trouble?" he asked with an intimidating look. Soon enough the guard responded with a simple shake of his head, as they helped Thymus onto his feet deciding to leave Rya alone for now at least.   

Giving off a slight sigh of relief, turning towards Candy, "Hey thanks... nice work on the guard.." he smiled feeling a bit awkward, he tended not to mix with many people.

"Hey, don't worry about it, sweets," she said, giving him a playful wink and pat on his shoulder. "Men rough house we worse than that on a daily basis. Though at least I get paid for it." At that,s he rubbed at where the man had hurt her. Yeah, it'd leave a bruise. Hopefully it'd heal quickly.

Frowning slightly with her mentioning about being roughed up, "Well.. the names Ryazur," as he smiled slightly as he greeted. "As you can tell I'm new in town.. and looking for mercenary work, know anywhere I can find some jobs?" Lowering his guard he felt at ease, after all she might be able to him find some work in town.

Rya nodded, he could use some extra coin. Including it could be a good way to gain some more information about the place, to help his true purpose for finding his grandfather. "Hmm that could work, does the place always have problems?" he asked with an interested look.
