Physical Description
Tall and slender with the ideal characteristics of his people, his complexion is rather fair, if, somewhat deathly pale, due to the toxic potions he ingested in his youth as he was starting his hobbies.  In stark contrast his hair, long and flowing down to his shoulders, is generally a royal blue, though seen as jet black in some lighting with a few strands of gray here and there as a sign of his aging.  His face, much like his personality, is sharply angled with flesh adequately wrinkled in places like the sides of his eyes from squinting or along his cheeks from frowning, etc.

His frame, though slender, is one of adequate build for his bodily composition, not to big, not quite too small.  Normal attire consists of multi-layered robes and pants for easy movement as being overtly encumbered has never been a favored thing of his.  Though he does have his own custom-made armor suits and weaponries, he usually associates little with them.  He prefers his physical training to be done as lightly as possible.

Personality
Something of the gentle giant, thought nothing of the sort through lineage, he has never been one to lash out venomous words to servants or underlings, or even to fellow lords.  He’s a thinker, rather, not completely outspoken, and prefers scrawling out a new enchantment on parchment by candlelight then attending a festival or ball.  In fact working by himself quietly is something he’d be most content to do.  In essence, he’s very much the introverted intellectual, spending much of his free time writing, reading going over scrolls, discovering new methods of spells, practicing his own magic, working on sending messages via pyromatic birds, deciphering ancient texts, traveling to crumbling ruins, or anything that involves exploring further into the unknown.

Indeed, his thirst for knowledge is so compelling that, in the particular subject of magic, he moves to study all possible corners of it, even the most profane types.  To him, there is no such thing as ‘evil magic’, merely ‘misused’ magic.  His studies range from simple levitation to more advanced summoning and even down to the treacheries of necromancy.  He studies the passages to different realms, learning the histories of lands beyond his native continent.  At heart, his is a thinker, a historian, a philosopher, a demonologist, a theologian, an alchemist, a librarian, a strategical tactician, and, foremostly, a powerful sorcerer.  The fact that is province is one that breeds great mages is not lost on the leader of it, himself.

Despite his vast array of hobbies and interests, Doryx is not irresponsible in the least, in fact he takes his position very seriously, loyal to country and land more than king and court.  His hand is a stern one, neither heavy nor too gentle, and there is hardly a grin to grace his visage.  He appreciates blunt honesty over tactful lies and, though he’s not ambitious, he knows the paths of subterfuge all too well.  Though he is not without his own prejudices, he likes to keep an open mind about all things, open to every possibility even the one that Connlaothians are not as bad as some others make them out to be.

Much in contrast to his esoteric, introverted ways, he’s a great spokesman and usually enjoys addressing public crowds; he exhibits great magnanimity to the people of his province.

Magic/Abilities
? He is proficient in multiple types of magic, and is well-rounded when it comes to this.  However, in terms of offensive magic, he is particularly powerful in casting lightning and charging his body with the electronic particles present in the air.  By doing this he can accelerate the processes of his body (healing, movement, etc.) and perform super-human feats when he is charged.  However, the repercussion comes in the form of a ‘burn-out’ phase in which he must take a rest for a few days.
  •Overload
Doryx expounds upon the electrical pulses already with in a body or physical vessel and "overloads" it until the vessel itself can no longer handle the growing charge and it explodes.
  •Supercharge
Another manipulation of the natural charges in others and, like what he can do to his own body, accelerating them.

? No respectable noble of any nation is without the ability to defend themselves and Doryx is no different.  Though not quite as young as he used to be, he's proficient in the arts of hand-to-hand fighting as well as the wielding of various weapons, however staff or hand-to-hand combat have always been his specialties.

History
He was but one of many to choose from in his line.  And though he was not first born, his own nature did not immediately make him out to be the most conspicuous choice for the Acaulian heir.  As the third child of an array of six, that made it even more of a surprise for him that he was considered at all.  However the deaths of his elder brothers, twins they were, proved to be a great tragedy for his family, regardless of the details in which they quarreled.  The fact that they slaughtered each other over who was the rightful heir after their father’s passing did nothing to bring disgrace to them.  After their burial, Doryx assumed the mantle of High Lord of Darken Vei; one of which he accepted without question and his siblings did likewise.

In all that time, he hadn’t given it a thought as to what he would do should he ascend to his father’s position.  As a matter of fact, the very facets of his life changed very little because of it.  Thinking that there wouldn’t be much for him to do because of his place as third-born, he spent most of his time burying his face in a scroll or practicing a water-walk spell.  And he persisted to do so thereafter.  His newfound responsibilities did nothing to hinder him and his interests, but, instead, they flourished.  He pursued his intellectual interests all the more, working them into his position, becoming empowered with both knowledge and respect.  He became reputable among his own governing people, solidifying him as one of the most respectable leaders they’ve had since his grandfather and positively, the least understood.

Keeping bay the darkness of ignorance, Doryx made travel one of his top priorities in reaching his goal.  He migrated far and wide to nearly all places across the continent: From Thanatos to Hyoite, La’marri, and other secluded places, studying magic and braving the dangers that came with it.  He conversed with demons in temple ruins, exorcised beasts back to their realms, discovered lost treasures in other lands, evaded capture and slavery, read forbidden scrolls, was shipwrecked on several occasions only to be left on deserted islands, and had countless apprentices under his tutelage.  Always working, never failing in his efforts to expand his mind.  But even as he traveled, he never failed to keep close ties with his home province and the events of his own nation.

Though he's traveled extensively, he's always kept close ties to his home in Reichsgard.  Now that he's older, he stays at home more often with his wife Lady DevaniĆ©e Acaulian, focusing more on the affairs within his own province, swearing his loyalty to the nation as a whole rather than individual nobles or even the ruler themselves.  He's currently promoting trade with the other provinces and maintaining the prosperity of the land.  As much as he works care for the workings of his own province, he’s remained ever-vigilant of events, watching the activities of the others closely and acting only when absolutely necessary.
