Aelith's eyes narrowed. She was just as much of a stranger to this part of the world as he, let alone a place like a library. But she was quick to retract her hook shot, getting an idea and as she jerked the chain's grip free from Tel'reoth, the length sunk quickly back into her gun and as turned around to Gaius, and then up. She was craning her neck, peering up at a lip of windows high above them.
"Up." She looked back to him. "It's better than sitting here to rot. Hope you don't mind flying," she said, putting her arm around him suddenly, grunting as she clung around his hefty, metal form and thrust her gun arm upwards. And in a blast, the hook and chain were air born and sinking into a lacing of wood work above. Giving it a single tug and feeling it was secure, she pushed and let go of the trigger hold, and both her and Gaius were sailing up through the air.
Within moments they had landed upon a small lip of painted white wood that stretched around the great length of the library's ceiling and all around them were tall, windows, wide and glittering with colors that carouselled off the pair of them as they caught the ray's of sunlight from outside. Aelith looked around for any means to escape. It seemed they only had one solution.
She kicked her metal boot through a window, the glass smashing around them as she turned her head away. A sharp burst of sunlight poured in through the crack and she used her one metal hand to scrape the remaining glass shards away and her other hand, nonchalantly shrugging and retrieving the hook shot back into it's gun.
"Seems like we got ourselves a way out." She gestured with a jerk of her head, then poked out, squinting her eyes at the sun as they settled over the down below. There were a series of buildings nearby, and a line of flags that were hung at different heights lining this side of the building. They could slide down from there, but she had a feeling it might be wiser to stay up with the birds. Stepping outside the window and out an outter stone lip that traced all the way around the building, Aelith moved slowly, collectively and sized up her next target.
There was a statue, a woman with her arms outstretched towards the skies with wings open against her back. That would do.
She pointed her gun at it and fired, the hook sailing across the air and looping around a railing that lay at the statue's feet. Good enough.
She gave a tug, and once it was secure, she turned back to Giaus, her blonde hair tossing wildly about her face from the wind.
"Looks like we get to fly again." and with that, she took hold of the golden knight again and released her hold on the trigger, and the pair were sailing across the sky.
Landing a moment later, Aelith crouched into the land, then moved to retrieve her hook shot, and once it was retracted back inside her gun, she turned a glance to him over her shoulder.
It was only then she had an idea, seeing another one of the high flying red flags snapping in the wind nearby, she moved across the rooftop and leapt for it, snatching onto it and letting the flowing form of the flag toss her about, sliding around her form as she slid down, riding the flag downwards in a downrush of wind and gravity.
Soon she was at the tail end of the flag, which nearly reached the cobblestone streets below and landed in a nearby wagon stocked full of hay. Hey, at least they were lucky enough to get a cushioned landing. Pushing herself up, she looked up over her shoulder, blue eyes nearly blinded by the sun, to see if the golden knight were following suit.
