Physical Description:
With her wiry build and middling height, Joan O'Reilly isn't an incredibly imposing figure at first glance. Her eyes are seaweed green, and she has a long scar going down her chin. She doesn't smile often, and when she does it makes her look more psychotic than happy. Joan keeps her shoulder-length brown hair covered by her hood at all times.

Teenage Wasteland takes the form of a muscular hooded being with a skull mask. It's cloak is tattered and worn. It's knuckles are steel, and it's fists are the size of basketballs.

Personality:
Joan is a... loose cannon, let's put it that way. She's violent, abrasive, obsessed with strength, and has a nasty habit of taking things too far. She's very mean, and enjoys putting others down for her own amusement. Many people fear her, as Joan has more than enough strength to back up her behavior.

Of course, the girl isn't without her own insecurities. She's terrified of losing to the point where she cheats compulsively. She also fears anybody with strange, unorthodox magic- she gets very nervous around Ignatius Pratt, for example. She's also not without a soft side- she enjoys fixing things, and people who know her will sometimes find Joan repairing things like creaky steps and broken chairs without being asked.

Joan has a habit of finishing people's sentences for them.

Relationships:
Joan is a member of The Friends, though most of them have mixed feelings about her. Of all of them, Griselda seems to like her the most.

Joan seems to have some kind of long standing feud with Tiffany Starbrite. Nobody actually knows what happened between them, as neither are willing to talk about it.

Magic/Abilities:
Joan's has the ability to summon "Teenage Wasteland"- a ghostly personification of her own soul- to do battle for her. Teenage Wasteland is incredibly strong and fast, capable of delivering stone-shattering punches at blinding speeds. However, it's movement is limited to a ten foot radius around Joan, and any damage done to it is reflected back onto her.

Don't bother asking where Teenage Wasteland came from- Joan won't tell you.

Joan herself is incredibly athletic, and is good at parkour.

History:
Growing up in Zantaric... does things to people. At best, you'll become cynical and jaded. At worst, you'll become an irredeemable monster. Either way, you're liable to die on the streets like a dog. Unless, of course, you make Friends.

The city had turned Joan into a menace. She took whatever she wanted, whenever she wanted it. She picked fights with anybody she thought was strong enough to challenge her. She harassed and threatened innocent civilians, and anybody who tried to stop her ended up brutally murdered. It was her right to do so, she figured- the strong ruled over the weak, that's just the way things work. Besides. it's not like anybody had ever done anything for her. Why should she show restraint?

It was the smile that did it.

Joan had finally ran into something she couldn't punch through- Friends working together. Hildegarde Von Musel and Griselda had heard of Joan, and decided to take her down in order to bolster their reputation. After a fierce battle (in which Hildegarde took a punch in the face in order to buy Griselda time), Joan was defeated. Her body had given out, and it was getting hard to breath. Looking up at the women who had beaten her, she asked for a quick death.

Hildegarde shook her head. "Nah!" she said cheerily. "That's not really me." The woman extended her hand to help Joan up, a genuine smile spreading across her bloodied face. "D'you wanna roll with us? Having friends makes living here easier."

It was something Joan had never really experienced before- kindness. Head spinning, Joan agreed to join the Friends. It's been two years since that day, and Joan's life has completely turned around.

Now she just needs to figure out the whole "being nice to people" thing.
