That morning, Yiroa woke up with a brilliant idea.

Which meant, of course, that she needed to immediately enact it!

Her scribes and advisers all gave her tired, long-suffering looks when she told them her plans, but they didn't argue, and quickly did as they were told, ink brushes carefully jotting down her instructions. And when that was done, couriers were sent out to all the largest villages, far and wide, each carrying a copy of her pronouncement.

It was a simple thing, really. A call to action--but not for a war, or a battle, or anything violent, though it might be dangerous. It asked for anyone brave, bold, and adventurous enough to come to her at the Temple of Malai, where she resided, so that she could give them supplies and her blessing for an epic quest, a quest for which they would be handsomely rewarded if successful. A quest whose call any might answer, regardless of caste.

In short?

Yiroa wanted a legendary kirin for her own, an elusive beast known to bring luck and prosperity to the land, to be able to suss out lies and truths.

She wanted one. And she would pay dearly to have one.

Bovil stood at one of the fishing decks, paying the man who had given him a ride to this island. He waved as he continued his way through some of the nearby towns. For some reason his walking seemed a little...unnatural. He walked among a crowd of people looking at something, but what? A scribe was telling these people about something, so he had to find out what. He cautiously squeezed through the crowd and could hear the scribe's words getting louder. He couldn't quite make out what the scribe was saying, but he only heard that they need people to meet at a temple. Bovil stood quietly for a moment trying to figure out why they were calling people to a temple, but chose to follow his instinct and walk to this temple. Once he had made it he called out, "I heard you were enlisting people to help with something? What might this be?" He felt his stomach drop for a moment, but dismissed it. He felt like he was about to sent out on a wild goose chase, but he didn't know why he felt that way. He put one of his massive boots ,that seemed fit for a horse, up to a wall as he waited for a response. He didn't like the feeling, but wanted to see what this was all about.

Bovil was not the only one who had answered the summons. Kuan, a warrior of the Temple caste, had also arrived, always eager to serve the Maharani. Though this seemed a silly quest to her, it also sounded straight-forward enough, and Kuan was confident enough in her abilities to be happy to lend them to the cause.

It was while she was heading up the steps of the temple that she caught sight of a large man, calling out questions, and leaning his foot upon one of the low temple walls. Kuan's brow furrowed with distaste. He was an obvious foreigner, judging by his looks and accent--and not only that, but by his obnoxious behavior! Calling out like that, all brash and loud? And if he'd heard enough to find his way here, surely he should know what they were being summoned for!

Embarrassed for the man, Kuan swiftly crossed the distance between them.

"Are you lost?" she said gruffly, frowning at him. "You're at the Temple of Malai. Show some respect."

Bovil heard what Kuan had said to him, but dispite his friendly nature he said to her, "Watch your tongue and it may just keep you alive..." He felt a little bit of guilt for saying it, but he knew that he had to say something. He was not the kind to be pushed around too easily. He took his boot off of the temple wall and moved away from Kuan, quickly shooting her a look of anger. He went to a farther side of the temple and simply put his back to the wall. He took off his quiver and opened a small pocked along the side of it. He pulled out a few berries he had collected earlier and tosses them into his mouth. He didn't want to cause any trouble, but wouldn't be afraid to fend for himself.

Clearly, he was lost. Otherwise he would have known better than to speak to someone of her caste in that manner. Kuan's hand went to her sword briefly, but then relaxed. He had threatened her, which was more than enough reason to toss him right off the grounds...

But as he walked off, Kuan let him. She had been trying to warn him, really, but if he wanted to keep up the attitude, well...she couldn't wait to see how he behaved when meeting the Maharani herself.

Instead, Kuan got a servant's attention, and told them to let the Maharani know there were guests here to see her. Bowing low, the servant bustled off, and Kuan waited respectfully, hands folded together as she stood there quietly and ignored the disgusting pig over there.

It wasn't too long before a small entourage arrived, servants and Warriors flanking none other than the Maharani herself. Yiroa was dressed simply, in an outfit that looked better suited for a Warrior than someone of her station, with her blond hair pulled up into a bun. Instantly, Kuan dropped to her knees and bowed low, pressing her forehead to the floor.

"Your Majesty," she said, and glanced briefly toward the man, wondering what he would do.

Bovil, to everyone's surprise, bowed and said,"Bovil...at your service your majesty..." He stood up and help his bow at his side. He stood at full attention as Yiora and he small crowd walked by. He didn't seem to be doing anything wrong at all. He grabbed his bow as he walked past him and put it along his shoulder as usual. He followed behind the group, making sure to keep his distance from the entourage. Once they stopped Bovil took a knee and waited for what Yiora had to say.

Tal crouched low as he moved along the roof as a predator would hunting it's prey. As the village crier turned down an alley way, he took his chance. He pounced, Landing on the crier putting a hand over his mouth to muffle his screams. "Nothing of use here." He murmured to himself as he looked him over. "be off then." He said calmly as he stood while the man was thanking him for his life. As the crier hurried away Tal noticed a parchment he had left behind, looking it over quickly as a wicked grin spread over his face. "Time to go to work." He thought as he strode towards the Temple of Malai.

Bovil could hear steps approaching the temple as he stood up, not waiting for Yiroa's introduction, he followed the noise towards the entrance of the temple, but couldn't find anything. He pulled his bow from his shoulder and looked at his hand. It had a green glow to it. He had almost changed to his centaur state without even knowing. He calmed down for a moment and watched the green glow vanish from his hand as he continued to look around. ",I need to be more careful..." He murmured to himself as he put his bow back along his shoulder. He may of seemed weird, but the sound could be heard from the temple, but from which section? He looked back inside of the temple, but stayed closer to the wall of the entrance. He had one hand on his bow and the other at his side as he leaned up to the wall again, trying to piece together what may be happening with the odd noises.

Yiroa and her entourage had not moved from where they stood at the temple's entrance, and Kuan was still bowing when...

The strange man ran off?

Kuan winced, and felt her face warm with secondhand embarrassment. Idiot foreigner likely had no concept of what a fool he was making of himself! Or how rude he was being! And before the Maharani herself!

And when she peeked up at Yiroa, it seemed the Maharani was very, very unamused.

Yiroa glanced over at the foreign man, who was behaving...quite erratically..., drawing his bow and casting some sort of unknown magic, and then motioned to Kuan. "You may rise and follow me," she said, and jabbed a finger at the man.

"You are dismissed." And then, without another glance his way, she turned and headed back inside the temple, flanked by her servants, while the guards stationed at the temple entrance shot Bovil a warning look.

With a final look the man's way, Kuan turned and followed the Maharani inside.

Bovil heard that he was dismissed and surprisingly felt more guilt build up within him. He knew that he seemed a little odd with his bow drawn and other weapons at the ready. He felt bad and went down the steps of the temple, but didn't wander too far off. He knew he had saw something and wanted to stick with his instincts. They hadn't failed him yet and now wasn't going to be the first time they did so. He went to a nearby tropical rain forest and found and small path to go down. He could have a clear view of the temple from the tree, but they wouldn't be able to see him and figure him as a even greater threat than what he already seemed. He awkwardly sat on this new terrain that he wasn't used to yet and began to eat a few more berries. He thought and plotted to prove that he was correct, but ended up continuing down the path once the berries had digested. He continued down the path where he wouldn't be seen and kept his hand on his bow just in case he had to defend himself.

"Hey there." Said Tal as he seemed to materialize out of the shadows. "Not many people tend to notice me." He said as he took a seat next to Bovine. "But next time, don't make it so apparent, there's a little pro tip." He said as he began to hang upside down, his reptilian feet latching onto the branch.

thehiddenbeast13

Bovil was a bit startled by Tal, and yet again his hand had the faint green glow as before. He murmured under his breath,"Be lucky I'm in a good mood or else I would of already shot at you..." He lowered his bow and cautiously slipped it back onto his back. He turned to Tal and said,"You could of spooked me...Then you'd find out what happens when you do..." He put his back up to the tree as he awaited for the response from Tal.

Kriv

"So, now onto why I followed you, that glow from before. What is it and what do you want for it?" He asked blatantly.

thehiddenbeast13

Bovil's eyes widened as he heard what this stranger was asking. What was his magic and what did he want for it? Bovil turned to face the stranger and said, "err....I can't tell and I'm not willing to give it away." He could feel a bit of tension building up in his legs, much like a horse when they are about to kick. He gripped the edge of his bow in case he would have to fight his way out, but personally hoped he wouldn't have to.

Kriv

"Oh come on, Pleeease?" He begged shaking his clasped hands like a beggar. "I won't tell anyone."

thehiddenbeast13

Bovil said,"No! and that's final!" His ears slight twitched as he slowly began down the path once more to get back to the village. He didn't want to show off his magic, nor did he want to give it to anyone.

Kriv

Tal dropped to the ground silently and walked faster to catch up with Bovine. "Oh come on, I'll trade you anything!" He said as he plunged his hand into his frontal lobe as he searched around for useful
appendages. "What about.." He muttered as he continued feeling around within his own head. "An arm that can let you time travel?" He offered pulling out a muscular light blue arm.

thehiddenbeast13

Bovil gagged when he saw the arm and started to go into a jog. He yelled, "Get that thing away from me! Get it away!!" He drew his bow and shot at Tal, he knew he had missed, but it would only be a distraction to let him get away. He yelled, "My magic is important to me! I'm not trading it so stop!"

Kriv

Tal ran even quicker to catch up with Bovine. "At least tell me what it does first!" He yelled after him.

thehiddenbeast13

Bovil turned and said,"No!" He then broke out into a inhuman like sprint and began to clear through the small rain forest as if it were nothing more than a small field, sliding under a few high branches and jumping over some of the lower branches.
