The shimmer of the sunlight, reflected from the distant waves of the cool Hivan ocean, could be seen even from the porches of the houses of Suna, would one step before their residence's home, and gaze at the beautiful sea. They might even find themselves blinded by it... Taking into account that they were awake by now, that is. For one thing was sure: Yukio was up on her feet, but hardly awake.

She dragged herself from the upper levels of the house, stumbling down the stairs as she rubbed sleep out of her eyes, clothes tightened even more lousily than on most occasions (quite an achievement, considering the sort of woman she was). As she often did, she attempted to place her right hand on the wall, lining the staircase from one side, only to remember that she had no right hand. Curses. With a deep sigh, her brow furrowed, and she finally set her bare feet onto the surface of the lower floor.

Hira has left the entire shop to her. He was off somewhere again, to shop for more goods, and all of the house was just hers to abuse for lounging around and training. And that was the exact reason why it was already advanced morning, and Yukio was still freshly-woken. Well, today the shop opens late!

Yawning, she retrieved her long, thin pipe, sticking it between her teeth, and after a while of struggling lit it on fire, a cloud of smoke dispersing from her parted lips. It relaxed her immensely, eyelids dropping down as she slowly walked over to the door, leaving the smoke behind like a thread, following her. Finally, she allowed light to enter the premises; as the panels of the door parted, she stepped out into the warmth of the air, ever an inferno in sunlight at this time of year. At this particular moment, she cared little, simply savoring the taste of the burning herbs and inhaling the smoke into her lungs. Just for a moment, she stuck the pipe between her teeth again, fastening the thread, tied around her loose black robe. What a pain in the ass it was to make a knot with one hand only...

In the middle of the motion, a different sensation caught her attention. Something was brushing against her legs, something rather soft... Looking down, her eyebrows gradually raised in surprise. A cat was brushing against her legs, and rather lovingly at that.
Its fur was pure white, except for two flakes of hazelnut brown at its ears, and its tail was unusually fluffy for a cat, found on the streets... Maybe it belonged to someone and just ran away. It looked like it was still young, anyway.
"Whatcha want?" Yukio raised one foot off the ground for a moment, to set herself free of the furry slipper she has momentarily gained, skilfully balancing on the other one.
"Meow?" the cat raised its head up, giving her a glance at its uneven eyes, before pressing it against her shin once more.

Shaking her head with a short chuckle, she stuck the pipe between her teeth, bending over to pick the cat up. Her hand slid underneath the animal's ribcage, sinking into the silky fur, and gripped it just tight enough to make sure it doesn't slip from her fingers. The cat meowed once more as Yukio hefted it up, holding it before her face in her outstretched arm. One of its eyes was a bright blue, while the other one had the color of copper... How odd.
And the small bell that hung from its neck, tied on a thin thread, hinted on it being a house cat, too.
"Well, aint'cha pretty." she exlaimed.
"Meow!" the cat replied.
"I 'on't speak cat." Yukio remarked plainly, staring at the cat through the pipe smoke.

Whose cat could it be? It gave her a very strange feeling. As if its mismatched eyes were more than glass-like beads in the white fur, they watched her and Yukio thought the cat may even know what she's thinking.
But that was ridiculous!

There was a loud crash in the main room of the store as a disheveled looking man tumbled out of a shimmering curtain that only moments before had not been present. He spun quickly and shouted "You're not a door!" and with that the shimmering curtain collapsed on itself and vanished. "Aw.. hell.. Where have I come out this time. Cursed flame rats making me open a door without preparation.. " He sat on the floor looking dazed and glancing around the room. "Whelp. I'm lost. Again." He looked down and patted out a small flame which had started to scorch the floor beneath his hakama, Then rubbed the spot with a thumb making a streak in the soot.

At the sound of unfamiliar noise, and someone's voice, coming from the main room of the shop, Yukio turned on her heel, stomping inside with a dangerously ferocious look on her face, shadowed by the scarf on her head, and tufts of hair, which stuck out from it. Intruders! Thieves! Robbers! If she'd stop to think about that a little, she would have found the idea utterly ridiculous - no idiot barged into someone's house that loudly to steal fireworks and fancy pots - but she did not do so, instead stuffing the cat into her overcoat, and grabbing one of the long poles, as usually placed on the porch. Hira kept those there to poke things, which accidentally got stuck on the roof, out, but to her, they served more as polearms for keeping seagulls and unwelcome visitors away.

With the sound of her feet, thudding on the wooden floor, she barged in, followed by the swirling black fabric that billowed behind her, and pointed the long wooden stick straight at the stranger - between his eyes, to be accurate - frowning at him like a demon.
"The heck ya think yer doin'?" she burst out at him as loudly as she could with her teeth grit, taking care not to drop the long pipe out of her mouth. The man, only dressed in a rugged hakama, looked particularly disheveled and unkempt, to the point where he could counter even her own self, but to her, right now a primary matter was the stain on the floor he has caused. He burned her floor... No, Hira's floor! And she promised to take good care of the shop while he was gone! Dammit!

"Catching my breath. I've just had quite the jog to escape some nasty fire rats." He seemed to not have noticed, or at least not been perturbed by, the staff pointed at him. "Where are we anyway?" He pulled a needle, thread and small swatch of navy blue cloth from some hidden pocket in the folds of his hakama and began repairing the small hole scorched into them. He was shirtless and Yukio could see fresh but relatively light burns down most of the right side of his shoulder and arm. He crossed his legs and settled onto the floor turning so he wasn't obscuring the light he was using to see his stitching.

"I meant the floor, punk. My policy's up there, on the wall," she nodded her head at the front door, "So e'ery one can see it. Ya break it, ya buy it. Ya burn the floor, ya pay for the floorboards." she growled at him, twirling the staff in her arm. With a loud thump, one end of the stick landed on the floor, and she stuck the pole underneath her arm, pulling the pipe out. Like a bull, she blew the thick white smoke out of her nose, squatting in front of this stranger.

The cat, stuck between her tunic and her bosom, pushed back, obviously annoyed by the smell, its mismatched eyes narrowing. Yukio glanced down at the animal with curiosity - before the cat butted into her chin with its head, slithering out of her clothes onto the floor. The woman's lips narrowed into a thin line as she stared at the cat, at her pipe, and at the animal again.

After a long moment of hesitation, she, releasing a long sigh, slumped down onto the floor, cross-legged sitting against her unexpected visitor, and once more putting the thin end of the odd pipe between her teeth. The aroma of the burning herbs was sweet and heavy, filling the air and poisoning the mind sweetly... It was a relaxing stench, one that cooled her from the warrior that never stopped in her tracks and kept waving her sword, no compromises and no mercy, into the shopkeeper that guarded the premises of her brother's store.
The cat, purring, brushed against her side, and Yukio blew a cloud of the smoke out once more.
"We're in Suna." she proclaimed. "My brother's store. And ya better quickly tell me how you get in, or I'll kick yer head off."

Kitty

Kitty was out running some errands for her owner or well he wasn't her owner anymore but she still considered him such. The weather was hot but it didn't bother Kitty she actually rather liked it. Going from shop to shop Kitty bought what her owner needed with fewest possible words spoken. Any of the towns people who visited her shop would recognize the cat girl. Most of her free time was spent in that shop. Not to mention her appearance was not easily forgettable. She wore a striking outfit of leather a rare resource in this country, but her ears, eyes, and tail were easily the more noticeable.

Heading back Kitty passed by a shop which has a smell coming from it that was very luring. Kitty had a very sharp sense of smell and was effected easily by scents. She just had to go into that shop and find that smell!. The only problem was shop owners around her didn't like window shoppers and Kitty didn't want to spend any of her large dusty pile of money just as an excuse to be in the shop. Luckily Kitty had other ways of going where she wants without people questioning her.

Finding a very well hidden place Kitty morphed into her kitten form. Wiggling out of the pile of clothing she had and her much smaller body couldn't use. She walked away from her belongings hoping nobody finds and steels it while she investigates the shop. Finding a way in Kitty found she had been beaten to the shop by some other cat. Or maybe it was the shop owners cat. Either way she had to be careful not to spark a fight. Kitty tested the boundaries and approached the women who seemed to have on her the alluring smell, completely ignoring the other humanoid. It didn't matter that she had found the source and her curiosity was satisfied. The scent kind off hypnotized her. If she had to compare its the effect she would say its a lighter version of catnip.
