Hello everyone, I've just recently discovered this site, and from what I've read it sounds quite interesting. I'd like to give it a shot, so I went ahead and joined.

I've been playing pen and paper RPGs for a few years now with a close group of friends, but I haven't done much online save for a few MUDs which I've since stopped playing. I'm always willing to try new things though, and I think it should be interesting to RP with some new people.

Anyway, I've got a couple characters I would like to play, but I'm not sure how well they'd fit into the setting here. I guess I'll read some of the existing threads and make my decision based on that. Most of the campaigns I've been in have been fairly over-the-top, so if I need to tone anything down, just tell me.

Alright, so that's it for my indroductory post. I'm looking forward to playing with you guys.

How're you? I think you'll fit in just fine - just get used to our craziness, unless you're already there! We're glad to have anyone and everyone ^___^

Don't worry, I'm used to craziness. As I mentioned, my regular group is a little over-the-top, both while roleplaying and in real life. For example, here's the characters in one of our campaigns:

Gun-toting, demon-slaying priest (he owns several hundred guns)
Sadistic, power hungry samurai
Psychic gambling nanotechnology guy
Transmuter- can change anything into anything else
Illusionist demon who enjoys pink daisies and ripping his own face off to scare people
Half-Demon martial artist spy (this is me)

In one of our most memorable games, our gambling psychic made the local casinos so mad they sent an entire private army after him. As he was avoiding jet fighters on his souped up scooter, the Transmuter formed a dome of rock around our apartment, The priest and samurai held off the foot soldiers, and I was a little irritated that my cooking experiments had been interrupted and melted the face of a giant robot with a batch of my home-made soup. At the same time one of our NPC friends held the stairway using only a pair of chopsticks.

The illusionist hadn't joined our group yet, so he missed out on the fun.

Crazyness does not bother me.

That campaign sounds like a lot of fun! Bwahahahaha...I think you'll be right at home.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that your subject line brought back lotsa fond memories of my days roleplaying in chat rooms waaay back when. *cacklefit* Kinda scary, actually, now that I think about it...

He's a pre-existing character I have lots of background info on, but have never actually had a chance to play. I hope he's acceptable.

Nicknames are fine, but Wally really doesn't make sense... "I am Zen Master Wally" just doesn't have that ring to it you know? In the past most people have just called me ZMW or Zen, but I haven't been using this nick for very long.

We have a lot of fun in that campaign. We've started barfights in Hell, been ambushed by over 10 ninjas in a tiny bathroom, fought demons over 5 stories tall, destroyed mecha with their own weapons and pretty much laughed in the face of any authority. Our party is really diverse, and it's interesting to come up with odd ways of solving problems, most of which end up badly (It's not a good idea to stick a pipe into a portal to hell and try and look through it- "I can't see anything!" as a jet of flame hits him squarely in the eye). The system we usually use is BESM D20 which basically allows any setting and is completely over-the-top. We have a bunch of campaigns including a steampunk western, an alternate reality sci-fi world where water is lighter than air, an arctic campaign, and space gangsters.
