This is our bi-annual event for all to partake in who wish to. Though this month is over, there are more to come and all are welcome. Physical Description

Imogene is a tall, toned man with a smooth, almost olive complexion. He has long straight black hair that he keeps in very thin, braided dreadlocks with various gems and crystals braided into it. Often Imogene will gather his hair together with a tie or in a bun to keep it out of his face. His features are rather elfin in appearance with a long face and nose, high cheekbones, and dark, almond-shaped eyes.

His clothes are tailored to fit in his family colors of greens, blues, and silvers. They also nearly always tend to have a intricate embellishment. Imogene's preferred style of dress is a pair of loose fitting trousers beneath several layers of robes. He likes his clothes to be breathable and easily to move and relax in no matter the situation. When he travels to warmer climates he places cooling charms on his outfits so he can continue to wear them despite the heat. Imogene also enjoys wearing jewelry. Both his ears are pierced and often have dangly earrings in them. Depending on the day and outfit he will wear necklaces with crystals with different magical attributes. But, without fail Imogene will always wear his protective mage ring on the middle finger of his right hand. While reading Imogene also has a pair of small round glasses that he keeps perched on the bridge of his nose. However, he is very shy about them and tries

Personality

Imogene is a very sweet and caring young man. Growing up with six younger sisters taught him how to be a listener and to be sensitive to others. He has always loved the quiet of his books and studies though and so it was no surprise when he went on to become a mage scholar who was most interested in ancient and occult magicks that have been forgotten to time.

He has a gentle way about him with his careful words and calm approach to situations. Nothing seems to truly upset save for the harm of others to which he becomes a fierce protector of the innocent. Imogene has a soft spot for children and will always stop to give them a treat or perform a small magic trick for their enjoyment before continuing on with his business, an extra spring in his step afterwards.

When it comes to the social niceties and bedmates, Imogene is sometimes at a bit of a loss. He is very wrapped up in his work and often does not notice all the social cues people give. But, this especially applies to anyone that has a particular lust or love interest in him. Having grown up with women, he sees affection or interest as normal among humans and not actually something more special. Imogene requires a more blunt approach to such interest should anyone wish to pursue him. He personally finds individuals attractive based on not just their looks but their hearts as well. Gender, species, or race means nothing to him.

History

After many years trying unsuccessfully for a child Mister and Mrs Khale sought out a witch to help them conceive. They desperately wanted a daughter and so when at last Mrs Khale fell with child the parents to be were ecstatic. Before their child was even born they named her Imogene. It was therefore a rather big surprise when she was actually born a he, but the name stayed all the same.

Imogene was a very magically inclined child even from a young age. His father blamed it on the witch's magic but his mother herself was a bit of a healer and taught her son all she knew of her craft. Over the years he grew with the desire to know more and more. With six younger sisters coming into their lives too, he stole every moment he could to study between the babysitting and the odd jobs he could find in town.

When he was of age his parent's present to him was to send him to one of the many colleges in the country so that he could better his talents. There he did his best to repay his parent's efforts with good grades and eventually graduated with distinction. Today he works on chasing down old relics and learning about magicks long forgotten. He still keeps in touch with his family and sends letters home whenever he remembers to along with trinkets and crystals for his sisters who miss him dearly.

I just wanted to put a quick and friendly for members new and old regarding SotE's art usage policy which can be found here.

Please double check to make sure your character artworks and any other images you use are properly cited. This includes the art you've made yourself. As of June 30th, I and the mod team will be working to go through ALL of the character profiles and removing images that are not properly cited. From then on we will continue the upkeep of artwork and adhere to the stated policy that images will be removed without warning if not properly cited.

Please take the time now to check your profiles and make any necessary edits during this grace period leading up to the big sifting.

Hey hey heyyyyyy it's almost tiiiiiiiime!

For those of you who know what this is bear with me. For those of you who don't, WELCOME! Ninja Flamingos is the artists of SotE's version of Secret Santa. Members who join are asked to draw a representation of their selected user based on username and personality. Zozee9 and I started this event three years ago and run it on a bi-annual basis.

For the ENTIRE month of January artists (called Ninjas) are given the opportunity to draw their person (called a Flamingo) based on the person's personality and username. Then on the 31st of January we have the BIG REVEAL (See here and here for past events!)

Anyone and everyone is invited to join no matter your artistic skill (believe me I'm the worst of us so you will definitely SHINE in comparison) Give me a shout to let me know if you're interested this year and as the weeks go by we will update you on how it works with the anonymous generator that EVEN I DON'T SEE!!! The emails with names will be sent out on the 1st of January so don't stress there is plenty of time to still join in! If you have any questions don't hesitate to send me a PM!

As some of you have already noticed we have spambots on the loose again! Never fear though and don't panic we're working hard to fix the issue. That being said I have got a few panicked PM's from some of you so just to clarify a few things I thought I would leave a little post.

If one of your threads or posts gets spammed or you see spam, please either PM a Global Moderator on the site OR hit the nifty little button under a post titled "Report to moderator." We'll get notifications then that allow us to quickly address the problem if we're not already on the case.

If you find spam in your thread and even if there are multiple spam posts, you do NOT need to start a new thread entirely. The spam posts will be deleted soon and you can carry on business as usual.

If there are links in the suspected spam post it is HIGHLY recommended that you DON'T click on them. Just report it and your friendly mod/admin team will gladly get rid of it.

If you have notified the mod team, please be patient as we work to clear things out for you. Bots RARELY post only once and there's usually a very long list of posts we have to delete. If we haven't already, we'll get to yours soon.

Physical Description

Ferra is a rather averagely shaped woman. Her body is toned from years of riding, moving, and performing with her father's exclusive exotic circus. She has very fair skin and white hair that make her icy blue eyes stand out starkly. She often keeps her hair pinned or braided back on the sides so as to not interfere with her work but otherwise down and loose.

For clothes she prefers to wear loose robes or gowns with more form-fitting trousers beneath so that her movement is not hindered when she is either performing or working. Ferra has no piercings or tattoos. She is not partial to fancy clothes or jewelry beyond her performance costume. She does however, have some scars from unfortunate accidents from falls or animals rebelling. Most are on her arms or legs though there are also some on her torso. All are able to be concealed though when needed.

Ferra's appearance or body is not something she rather concerned with or even shy about. It has only been recently as she is shaped into being a "proper lady" that she has had to struggle with "suffocating" dresses, the state of her hair, and how her hands are as rough any laborer's.

Personality

Outside of performances she is a rather shy and quiet young woman especially around people that she does not know. She keeps her head down and gets work done. She is an independent woman who will not stand to be treated as anything less than equal especially by those that know her. Ferra can and will on occasion speak her mind and most bluntly as well.

Being trained to be a lady has been a trial in the most unfortunate ways for her. Every instance where she would normally be silent and retreat is one she is expected to be open and welcoming. Every injustice she would normally spurn, she instead must be silent and poised. It takes every ounce of her practiced performance confidence and personality to look the part she is meant to play.

Magic/Abilities

Primal beast magic: Since she was small, Ferra has had the ability to attract creatures to her. Most naturally seem to tame under her gentle hand. But that is not to say that all fall under her spell or even that those that do forever remain under it. She has earned the respect the animals give her by returning it in like kind.

Relationships

Parents: Alive and well. Ferra has a working relationship with her father and hardly ever sees her mother.

Older Siblings: Five or six brothers she isn't entirely sure. Some of them she has only seen once or twice if she has ever met them at all. Some are married and off living their lives. A few work for her father and with their traveling entourage.

Younger Siblings: It is possible that Ferra has younger siblings but she does not return home usually with her father to know.

Ghost: Her pet sentient white raven that she raised from a hatchling. Ferra found him during one of her travels through Ravensway as a young girl and her father let her keep him. Ghost is incredibly intelligent and often can be found keeping a close eye on his mistress.

Maumurr: One of many large hunting cats from the Kishahn Jungle that the Bestley family keeps. He is all black with a thick bushy tail and is Ferra's favorite. Mamurr follows her everywhere and sleeps spooned in front of her or at her feet at night. Despite several attempts to take him on hunts without Ferra the beast will not be parted. He has claimed her as his own and he will let no man come between them.

Cocky Bastard: A recent addition to the Bestley family, he is rare peacock pegasus gifted to Ferra by Ro'or Dvorak for her excellent showmanship and expertise. He earned his name from Ferra for being an incredibly flashy beast who if he is not busy preening, is causing trouble of some sort or another. In appearance he essentially has the same coloring and frills of a peacock but on a horse's body and instead of tail hairs he has peacock tail feathers that he likes to display as much as any other male bird of the similar species.

Amleah Dvorak and Ro'or Dvorak: The Dvorak's have recently taken an interest in the Bestley family and offered them their patronage. One of the greatest benefits has been their care, attention, and tutelage of Ferra into a proper lady. On her behalf Ro'or has been instructing her father on seeking a proper noble suitor who could further elevate the family's status. While Ferra believes that the High Lady of Tirial is a delightful woman and truly enjoys her company, she cannot say the same for the lady's twin brother. Ferra equates him to the snake that plays at being tamed moments before it swallows you whole. She tries her best to avoid him as much as possible.

History

The Bestley family is a merchant class family. Though not nobles...yet, they have the money to back their renowned name. Mister Bestley works around the world, showing off his exotic beasts to only the finest of customers and nobles and therefore has connections from coast to coast and top to bottom of the world. He treats his creatures with the utmost care and only purchases them from the very best of breeders. He also makes sure to share the names of these breeders with any interested buyers thus bringing the business back home to those that keep his extravaganza running.

Back in the days of old, long before Mister Bestley's father's father was even born, the Bestley family were livestock farmers. But somewhere in the family line beast magic was awoken and soon the family quietly turned their luck for the better, using their newfound gifts to delight the world with exotic creatures most had never even seen.

That same gift while skipping generations appeared once again Mister Bestley's only daughter who at a young age showed a talent with animals large and small like no other. The beginning years of Ferra's growing up were often filled with time spent out wandering the estate grounds and listening to her parent's arguments regarding her place in the family. Mister Bestley desperately desired to take his little girl along with him as not only was she a beauty to behold even then but she could easily help the business profit with her gift. Missus Bestley on the other hand thought it was disgraceful use of a young woman's time and argued against it.

In the end Mister Bestley won and at age ten, Ferra joined some of her elder brothers and the hired hands in traveling around the world with her father. Growing up on the road was hard especially when one is a little girl with only grown men as company but Ferra would not have given it up for the world. She has seen so much in her travels and loves being able to sleep under a starry sky and spend her days playing and tumbling with a wide variety of beasts. When her family is in their home province, her father often tries to detour to visit his wife. Ferra however, prefers to stay outside of town with the beasts and as such has not seen her mother in nearly a decade.

Recently, after a performance for the new High Lady of Tirial, the Bestley's earned the patronage of the High Lady herself. As a reward for service to Serendipity, Amleah and Ro'or Dvorak have taken in an interesting in seeing to Ferra's training to become a proper lady in order to allow her to be married to a man of considerable wealth and status. It is not something she has been in favor of herself but for her family's sake, Ferra soldiers through the lessons.

Physical Description

Kendall has long, bright copper-colored hair and pale green eyes. Due to illness though her eyes often can look a bit watery and her expression a bit drab. Her small lips, long face, and pale skin with numerous freckles certainly does not help her image either. She is a slight thing if a bit gangling in the limbs.

She is not a rather active person though as lots of excitement or activity can soon send her into fits that make it near impossible to breathe. On occasion Kendall has even been known to faint when the symptoms of her illness were not quelled quickly enough. As such she is often kept secluded so as to not aggravate the sickness. When she is free too though, she loves to roam about to the outskirts of town into the fields where she can enjoy herself without boundaries or limits.

Personality
Kendall is an oddball. She does not conform to the expectations of society as her head is often seemingly in the clouds. She retains the sweet innocence and wonder of childhood, earning her the title of village fool. None of this of course bothers Kendall as she is well aware of what the others think of her and simply does not care. She is far from foolish or slow in the head though no matter how "tetched" they all believe her to be. Kendall likes to keep to herself though.

As one of the middle children of seven Wendle offspring, Kendall has always been the odd one out. Her four older sisters were always interested in things for big girls and her little sisters were too young to play. So growing up Kendall ran wild. She played and laughed with the other children every day. And the days passed into years the others grew up while she remained forever with her head in the clouds. Kendall did not give up her games and ideas as the others did. Children that were once her friends soon turned on her calling her names or even ignoring her altogether though it hardly seemed to phase her.

Today she is much the same. She works to help her family's farm until the day when she will marry and continue life living under another man's roof. The only addition to her family though is a runtish squirrel she calls Dewdrop or "Dewey" for short. When he was but a baby he fell from his nest and abandoned. Kendall found him and nursed him back to health. Ever since he has been her near constant companion. He is an active little thing, loving to scamper about and chatter rather animatedly at anything and everything.

This specific thread is for brainstorming all of our ideas for potential themes that we will choose before the event begins. We aren't narrowing down ideas right now, so feel free to throw out whatever comes to your mind. However, there are a few simple rules as follows:

Physical Description

Starbright is a petite woman, lightly curved but more lithe, willowy, and well-defined than anything else from her active lifestyle. She has light-tan complexion with a light dusting of freckles over her cheeks and nose, the later of which is small and cute as a button as they say. Her eyes are a golden-autumn brown and her hair is dark brown and very curly, reaching to about midback when she has time to get it cut. Oftentimes regardless of its length and how hard she attempts to pin or tie it back, loose curls escape to hang in her face. She also can be seen with dirt smudged on her face regardless of how hard she tries to avoid it. If she's working she's most definitely going to get muddy.

As she is often working in varying weather conditions and almost always dirt, her clothes vary to suit her needs but she has a strong preference for trousers and tunics over skirts and dresses. A good, strong pair of knee-high boots never fail her and her trusty knapsack is never far from her with notes and tools. If she's reading she'll be found with a small pair of glasses perched on her nose although she often tries to hide or avoid using those except at night in her tent when no one can catch her. Starbright's only form of jewelry are earrings which she'll wear despite the impracticality of having them dangle long against her face or big hoops that run the risk of getting caught on things. She'll defend wearing them to most fiercely should anyone complain.

Personality

She's quite a bit of a tomboy personality-wise. Starbright isn't too interested in womanly pursuits, finding a husband, making a home, etc. She loves traveling and exploring. She loves learning new things and is passionate about history. Starbright likes to break the mold that life tried to put her into. She'll drink and gamble like any other man. She'll roughhouse and tease with all the rest of the boys, and she has has no qualms about getting her hands dirty or playing in the mud. She's the kind of person who loves to have a good time and a good laugh and is always smiling.

She's playful and sassy but also loyal and heartfelt. She wants to live life to the fullest and drag everyone along with her for the ride. When she's not busy goofing off she's working, although even then work and play can mix. Her youth and intelligence has allowed her to become well-known in the community as she's had to work extra hard to prove herself. When the time calls for it, Starbright can be serious but she far prefers to leave the stuffiness to the old dogs while she gets to get her hands dirty in good old earth.

Magic/Abilities

~Minor Form of Clairvoyance: Starbright has no control over this. Sometimes it happens and sometimes it just doesn't. From time to time when she holds an object, particularly an older object she will get an imprint of a "memory" from it. These visions are not limited to objects but the more organic something is the more troublesome it is for her. To get a sense from a human being would mostly likely not only knock her out but give her one hell of a headache when she finally woke back up again. As it is the more objects that she gets "memories" from the more of a headache builds up behind her eyes. She can go entire digs without having an episode but then at other times she might have every object she touches "come to life" in her hands.
~Well-versed in history although her education is limited beyond that in the practical sense
~Music: She can pick up a tune by ear as easy as breathing. She loves to whistle and in her spare time teaches herself to play the current instrument of her fancy.

Relationships

~Mother: Still alive and well, wishes her daughter would settle down and cease with her fruitless and childish pursuits. Starbright does her best to avoid visiting her mother unless she absolutely has to
~Father: Unknown
~Step-father: A gruff sort of man but otherwise alive and well. Takes good care of her mother but not someone she enjoys spending her time with. He's far too serious for her liking.
~Step-brothers: She doesn't actually know how many of these she has now that she's left home. It seems as if every time she returns there is a new one but she loves playing with them when she has the time.

History

Starbright is the result of a rather amorous evening between her mother and a passing stranger at one of the yearly town festivals. Her mother does not often speak of it beyond a few wistful sighs and longing glances to the nearby woods. No one knows really who or what Starbright's father was only that he wasn't entirely human because of the gift he left his daughter in the form of her clairvoyance and her adeptness at learning new information quickly.

She had a relatively normal childhood growing up with the exception that her mother insisted she have proper schooling. Starbright while never admitting it to her mother spent a great deal of her time running around and climbing trees than actually learning. The only lessons she actually paid any attention to were those in history and culture which she took to like a duck in water. So began her passion for archaeology.

Her desire to leave her family home and her mother's overbearing desire to marry her off came to a head when her mother went and got married right under Starbright's nose or so the girl often claims. Not long after out popped brother after brother and out the door ran Starbright with the newest traveling caravan to pass through town.

His clothes are tailored to fit in his family colors of winter blues, blacks, and whites. They also nearly always tend to have a bit of embroidery on them in some form or other (even small and hardly able to be seen). This kind be things such as flora vines and matter or the dragon that is part of his family crest. Derrick also wears a small amount of jewelry in the form of a set of earrings in his left ear and a ring from his father on his left hand.

Personality

He is a quiet and calculating man who is always observing his surroundings. When it comes to his social life and women he is a rather eligible bachelor who is always flirting with one woman or another. He is however ever the gentleman which most likely lends to his continued rapport with the ladies.

Derrick has a gentle way about him with his careful words and calm approach to situations. He is exceptionally slow to anger but fierce once his ire has been raised. He is a loyal and honor-bound man who takes things rather seriously especially when it comes to his work. He has a soft spot for children and will always stop to give them a treat or perform a small magic trick for their enjoyment before continuing on with his business.

History

Derrick is a man who has seen many things and done many things though few of them he would ever admit to or share. If pressed he would say he has been here and there with a small shrug before attempting to maneuver the conversation away from himself. Anything having to do with his family and his origins is especially fiercely guarded as he is not overly fond of discussing his Faerie family that raised him or his position in life as a "bastard's bastard" as he calls it. Should someone find out about these things he would take it in stride as he is not ashamed of it. His origins however are just something that is private and not meant for others to share in.

Physical Description

Qaletaqa is a rather tall man. He is well-muscled but of a more willowy build than a hulking behemoth. His skin is the same traditional dark-coppery color of his Adelan packmates. He also has dark brown eyes, a narrow nose, high cheekbones and long, straight black hair.

He usually wears deerskin leathers for his tunics and trousers. As adornments he has several beads and feathers tied and braided into his long hair as a mark of honor and rank in his pack as well as bone and bead necklaces and earrings. His hair is also cut close on the sides with all his length coming from the top and back of his head.

Qaletaqa's body is a map of white and pink scars criss-crossing in every direction from bites and claws. Some are minor, some came from the fruits of the hunt, while still others came from pack fights that demanded he prove himself as still capable of leading the pack. One of his most notable ones though are the set of claw marks that run right over the bridge of nose. They ran so deep that even in his wolf form they can be seen across his snout.

As a wolf and hybrid he retains his lankier appearance and dark eyes. He is a silvery-gray colored wolf although the years have started to catch up to him and his brows and muzzle are starting to show his age by turning darker gray. He is still strong though and light on his feet and would easily take down an opponent that would dare stand up to him.

Personality

Qaletaqa has a very reserved and quiet personality. He is a fiercely loyal and protective individual especially when it comes to his pack. He would do anything for them and his family and he has the scars to prove it. He may not seem like a very warm person to those that do not know him but the love he has for his pack runs deeply. The weight of the world rests on his shoulders and he takes his responsibilities extremely seriously.

What might be perceived as his greatest flaw would be his inability to really express verbally how and what he feels. Qaletaqa is more of a man of action. He will easily work side by side with his packmembers to do what needs to be done in the pack. However, he might not necessarily tell someone in plain words how much he loves them.

History

Born as a werewolf, Qaletaqa knows no other life than that of the pack. He was born and raised that way and has grown to understand all the intricacies that come with being a member of the pack. His life growing up in the pack was rather tumultuous though.

Unlike most future alphas, Qaletaqa was not a pre-determined heir. His parents were not alphas or even betas for that matter. They were just everyday members of the pack who worked hard to help the pack. Unfortunately at the time, the pack was far from functional. Those in charge, abused their powers to suit their egos rather than the benefit of the pack. The village became a den for thugs rather than a home for families. Only the biggest and toughest came out on top while the smaller and weaker suffered greatly.

Qaletaqa kept his head down as much as he could to avoid attention while growing up. However, that could only last so long. His sense of justice intervened when he saw betas older than himself trying to take advantage of a young girl simply because they could The look of despair on her face caused his wolf to snap. Qaletaqa earned himself the beating of his life, but it was just the first of many. Once his mind made up though, he continued to fight for the pack, going so far as to intentionally pick fights just to draw attention away from the others.

All of it came to a head though when the alpha at the time tried to force Qaletaqa to back down and he refused. To make an example of him, the alpha gathered the pack to witness what happens to people who get out of line and refuse to obey. It was to be a fight of submission except Qaletaqa refused to submit and all soon realized that it had spiraled out of control into a fight to the death. Against all the odds though it was Qaletaqa who came out the victor albeit barely. He would have died where he stood had the betas been given the proper chance to take him on. With their leader defeated the pack took it upon themselves to subdue the betas until the new alpha could pass judgement.

It took much healing and many disagreements and failures but over time Qaletaqa was able to help the pack rebuild. The former betas were cast out of the pack and new ones were appointed. The alpha worked beside his people instead of forcing them to do the labor while he reaped the benefits. The hierarchy remained in place yet everyone was treated with the respect they deserved. The pack may not have been perfect but it grew to become happy and safe, a place where the people who were a part of it felt pride in their work and safety when they laid their heads to rest.

Hey hey heyyyyyy it's almost tiiiiiiiime!

For those of you who know what this is bear with me. For those of you who don't, WELCOME! Ninja Flamingos is the artists of SotE's version of Secret Santa. Members who join are asked to draw a representation of their selected user based on username and personality. Zozee9 and I started this event three years ago and run it on a bi-annual basis.

For the ENTIRE month of January artists (called Ninjas) are given the opportunity to draw their person (called a Flamingo) based on the person's personality and username. Then on the 31st of January we have the BIG REVEAL (See here and here for past events!)

Anyone and everyone is invited to join no matter your artistic skill (believe me I'm the worst of us so you will definitely SHINE in comparison) Give me a shout to let me know if you're interested this year and as the weeks go by we will update you on how it works with the anonymous generator that EVEN I DON'T SEE!!! The emails with names will be sent out on the 1st of January so don't stress there is plenty of time to still join in!

Physical Description

Logan is a mountain of a man. Broad-shouldered, heavily-muscled, and extremely tall makes him a giant of a man that towers over all of his packmates, even his own alpha. While his skin is heavily sun-kissed to a golden bronze he is nowhere near as dark as that of his Adelan packmates. This along with his blue eyes and waist-length brown instead of black hair makes him stick out from the rest in the most noticeable ways possible.

He traditionally forgoes a shirt when he is within the village, wearing only deerskin trousers. He prefers less clothes as he finds them usually too warm and not quite right. His sewing skills are abysmal so most things either are full of holes or ill-fitting. As adornments he has several beads and feathers tied and braided into his long hair as a mark of honor and service to his pack. He also wears on a leather thong around his neck a bone ring that was found with him when he was a boy.

On the top and back of his left shoulder are deep, puncture-mark scars from his own induction into the life a werewolf. He was just a boy when he was bitten and received them but he has worn them proudly ever since. His body also bears other, fainter scars from various activities and tussles both among the pack and outside of it. Many of stories behind them and even more have forgotten stories that Logan can no longer recall.

As a wolf and hybrid wolf he retains his bulky appearance and bright eyes. He is a tawny brown-colored wolf. He may not be as quick on his paws as some of his packmates but he is still very strong and able to contend with any opponent that would dare cross him.

Personality

Logan has a very loving and open personality. He is a man quick to laugh and drag others into laughter with him. It is a truly rare day when he is without a smile. This along with his traditionally level-headed demeanor makes him an excellent communicator not only within the pack but also with outsiders. He is also fiercely loyal to his pack who is without a doubt his family. Logan would do anything for them and Luna help whoever dares to bring them harm.

On the flip-side, Logan does struggle at times with his own stubbornness and excessive patience. They have gotten him into a great deal of trouble over the years that is not aided by his penchant for light mischief. He would never do anything to hurt his family though or cause permanent damage.

History

Logan was not born into the pack and as far as any of them know he is not Adelan either. His first full memories are of life in the pack but once in a while, moreso when he was younger than now in life he would have dreams of gentle voices and smiling eyes or nightmares of screams and pain.

From what the pack was able to piece together from the aftermath, Logan's family was attacked in their by a rogue werewolf. Both parents were violently mauled and the carriage was completely torn to pieces with bits scattered in every direction. The horses were nowhere to be found.

Wikvaya had been among the pack that had been sent out to scout the incident and they all nearly missed Logan had it not been for him waking and beginning to screech and howl in pain. He was found as a small toddler no more than three under a thorn bush bundled in a blanket with a bloodied shoulder calling for his mother and father. It seemed as if he had crawled into the spot to escape the attack as it took the werewolves a considerable amount of time to get him safely back out themselves.

He howled the entire journey back to the pack where he was cared for and comforted by the pack who realized then he had been bit by a werewolf and had nearly lost an arm in the process. Due to his persistent crying, especially at night the pack named him "Kotori," meaning "spirit of the screech owl" in their native dialect. He retains the name still, though it is now mostly used teasingly. When he was older, he declared his name as Logan though even he is not sure if that was the name his parents gave him or not. He did settle into pack life easily enough and was very loved and accepted by all as one of their own. He went on to become the youngest of the present three betas in the pack.

Long spidery fingers slowly danced over the ivory keys as if caressing a lover in an age old embrace. There was no rush of fumbling youth at the crossroads of their first foray into pleasurable adulthood but rather the calm before the storm touch of lovers reunited once more. The music itself wept with longing, each note crying out desperately into the stillness to be heard, to be felt, to be touched.

The man at the piano poured his very soul into what he was doing as his body swayed and his slid to half-mast as if hypnotized by the very magic that he was creating. Eventually though as all things do, the song came to an end, the notes trailing off into deafening silence once more.

With a sigh Theodore allowed his hands to fall into his lap as he at last stilled. Once more he was returned to the painful reality of pure silence. The music which had once been his greatest joy in his youth now served as both savior and executioner. It was his escape as he felt each note tremble beneath his fingertips in anticipation and yet also his reminder of how much he had lost in the past decade. No longer could he hear those soulful notes that shook him to his very core. For with each movement's completion returned the sorrow of remembrance as that was all he had at the end of the day, a memory of sound.
