It was quite dark and dank within the underground passageway. At the bottom of the steps, his path split into three directions. "Uh...Aella, a little –" He heard the stone door sliding loudly closed behind him and the light that had been filtering through from the passage's entrance was blocked out completely, leaving him in an oppressive darkness that was just dimly illuminated by a single torch. "Help...?" Laighean finished with a sigh.
Reaching with his good arm , he pulled the torch from the wall and held it up so that he could examine each path choice that lay before him. Forward, left, or right. All of these choices looked the same. Narrow, dark and creepy. "Well, it would have been nice to give me a map." He commented aloud to himself humorously. "Wouldn't it be ironic if I ended up right back where I started?" He chuckled and turned left with a shrug, " One direction's as good as another, I suppose. Hopefully, my sense of direction isn't quite as terrible as Draven's sense of humor."
Speaking of Draven, he thought as he moved forward, slowly moving through the passage that was just barely wide enough to accommodate him, he wondered if his brother would be panicking over his absence by now. Just how long had he been away?
Moss and mold clung to the stone floor and wall, the air was heavy with damp and smelled of dust and mold. Spiderwebs were draped high along the wall and some hung low, clingy to the young mage as he passed through. An occasional rat did scamper by, crossing his path which split multiple ways, multiple times and presented him with far too many choices. Laighean tried to keep his direction simple, but there were so many turns, so many intersections and winding passages that , in the end, he felt as though he were lost in a maze.
All in all, the trip was extremely confusing but uneventful and when he at last found a door and decided to risk pulling it open. And as the light flood into the passage and he poked his head through the entryway, he did a double take!
Ironically, he was back to right where he started in Aella's room!
"You have got to be kidding me," He was going to be in SO much trouble! '
Ooc : We knew I couldn't resist the ridiculous.
