· Physical Description ·Alyce is a lithe man of slender limbs. He looks like a good fall would break him or a strong wind might sweep him off his feet. It doesn't matter that he probably eats more than anyone you know, his metabolism is
monstrous. Alyce is the 'runt' of his family, who are of the more stockier Adelan look save his mother, who is half Serenian.
He's perpetually cold - his fingers and toes cold to the touch - and he dresses like he's expecting it to snow. It might be excused, since being up in the air
can make it cold but it might draw some odd looks on hot summer days.
He frequently braids back some of his hair, so it's out of his face, but he's not
good at braiding hair. This, too, makes him stick out a bit more because it runs toward the grey side of brown.
Think something like this. He does really like having his hair being played with ( touched, brushed, pulled, etc ) and he'll often ask someone else to do it for him. Some of his hair has been cut wildly when it got in the way of his pale brown eyes, so it's just... Well, it's a bit of a controlled mess. Which is an apt description of Alyce.
His clothes are the neatest thing about him and it's often because Isothaireande, his dragon partner, pesters him about it. So he might look roughly 'put together' at first, but then he opens his mouth.
· Personality ·Alyce would've been a military boy, like a lot of his family, but it was obvious early on that he wasn't really suited for it. Not to say he's not physically fit or capable, but he's got a mouth that doesn't seem to stop, bouts of insomnia, and issues with following orders. His family seemed to realize this long before Alyce actually did - because he's not very self aware - and pulled him from training before he could wreck his future.
Bonded to, and fiercely protective of, Isothaireande, the pair ended up in a more 'contractual' job with the military. Sometimes scouts, they're also monster hunters. It grants them brief stints of freedom while still contributing to some good in the world around them.
Alyce does
try to be a good person. He wants to be, but he sometimes gets in his own way. He forgets to think about other people - out of sight, out of mind - and doesn't follow any sort of law to the letter. Especially if they don't make sense to him or it gets in the way of some fun.
That being said, he does have a huge sense of personal freedom and justice. He's more apt to jump into a fight to save a town because it needs it than because he's ordered to do so.
· Magic / Abilities ·Dagger play : Alyce will never be at the forefront of a fight with a sword and shield. Rather, he's quick on his feet and fast with his hands with short, sharp blades. He has practiced close combat, since he has a giant, fuck off dragon for other stuff.
Ice / Water Magic : he's not about to sling a lot of spells around, but he can enchant items, namely his weapons, with burning cold and can manipulate water with some degree of efficiency. It's a trait that runs in his family, though is more powerful and prevalent in the women.
· Isothaireande ·Isothaireande, or Isothaire, is a large dragon that stands heads above most single story buildings. There are two distinct personalities in the different heads but they are, collectively, Isothaire. His egg was found and hatched as an oddity by the Osbeka family, and he considers them his own. In that, Alyce is like a younger brother to him and where Alyce gets his nickname. Isothaireande was born knowing his name, but because it was too much a mouthful for Alyce, Alyce shortened it. In return, Isothaire 'renamed' Saticc. Nevermind that Saticc and Alyce sound nothing alike - that's part of the jab.
Isothaire is a smug, self-assured dragon that doesn't talk much to people outside of the family. Mostly because he believes they're not worth talking to. He doesn't feel any affinity for other dragons and quite enjoys hunting monsters more than he does fighting tiny mortals. It's more becoming a creature of his stature and skill.
He humors Alyce and is willing to tolerate just about anything his 'younger brother' will do. To Isothaire, Alyce can do no grave wrong. Make plenty of mistakes, certainly, but the dragon has a hard time as seeing Alyce as anything but a silly boy - So he will be quick to defend Alyce even when he probably shouldn't.
· Relationships ·Osbeka Family : Alyce has a touch and go relationship with his family. He loves them, of course, but he sees them infrequently and doesn't really understand the lengths they've gone to ensure he hasn't really fucked up his future. Dragons are a large part of his bloodline, so he thinks nothing of it having Isothaire around. There is a deep love there, though, and if he was ever needed at home, he would go.
Gala Valerrose : Alyce doesn't have much by way of close friends and for whatever reason, Gala tolerates him. Isothaire approves of the nickname and does his best to help maintain the close friendship, sometimes having to set Alyce straight. Alyce doesn't have much by way of personal things or space when it comes to Gala. "What's yours is mine and you make a comfy, warm seat."
