It was dark. A throb rumbled underneath her neck and her head like she had been hit with something hard. She was cold and wet. The water clung to her skin like a blanket. What was under her felt hard. She was almost afraid to open her eyes. The ground was rough beneath her. 'Ow' she thought as she tried to move her body. She felt heavy, so heavy, like there was a boulder holding her down sitting on top of her. Where was she? Who was she? It took her a moment for her name to come to her mind, 'Lilaia'. She knew that was her name. But what else did she know? Blank. Nothingness. Heavy and cold. A rough cough rammed through her. Ouch that hurt. Her body hurt. Her ribs and her side. Her chest hurt. No, everything hurt. After the cough subsided her eyes opened. She could see rocks, dirt and foliage. Lilaia could smell the dirt and ground under her nose. A small amount of comfort came from that through the pain. Her long silvery hair clung to her with the wet. She felt the river lapping at her toes still. The pale girl pushed herself up on her elbows. She could see rocks, grass and trees in front of her. The earth was also heavy in her nose. It was dark. She could see outlines of things in the distance but not much. When the girl felt able she pushed herself up into a sitting position. Her body gave a hard shiver that also hurt. She felt the dirt, mud and little rocks sticking to the skin of her arms. Lilaia swiveled her head to look toward the very large, quick moving river that she had presumably come out of. If she hadn't come from there... Where had she come from? But if she was unconscious in such rough moving water shouldn't she have drowned? What had happened to her? Where had she come from? Why was she here? The questions were flying at her rapidly as she looked at her surroundings. The girl crossed her arms tightly across her chest with another hard shiver, as if trying to warm herself. She was naked, aside from her hair sticking closely to her body, covering her breasts down past her mid stomach. A bright light from above shone, her eyes were drawn to it. Her breath caught in her throat, looking at the mesmerizing moon above. There was something important about the round glowing object above her. Her eyes were locked on it for the briefest of moments. Forgetting the pain and the cold that clung to her skin.
