Physical Description
Wren stands at about six foot even, with a willowy build and a deceptive strength to his limbs. He has rich chocolate brown hair that trails down his shoulders to the middle of his back over tan skin. His hair is often pulled back into a half or full ponytail, depending on how much work he has to get done. His brow is often pinched into a frustrated scowl, lips pulled back over his white teeth, which are incredibly sharp. Under his eyes are crimson slashes, almost, not cuts but perhaps... birthmarks? Tattoos? He also wears red eyeliner as if to accentuate these marks, which suggests they are a birthmark he is fiercely proud of.

His eyes are a lovely gold color, and he often wears loose, flowing clothing such as robes that reveal his chest. There are scars creeping up his back to his neck, brutal, jagged things that show he is no stranger to hard times or cruelty. His accessories include a burnished gold collar and an amulet with a long chain; what the amulet holds is anyone's guess, though he often strokes the amulet when deep in thought.

Magic/Abilities
Unlike most other kitsune, Wren has no magic to speak of; he is impotent, which means that he has no connection to his soul-magic. It does not matter how old he gets, he will never sprout more tails, and he will never be able to cast a lick of a spell.

That doesn't mean he doesn't have other talents, however. Wren is incredibly good at finding information, be it mundane or otherwise, and has a way of loosening the tightest lips. Despite the fact that he can be quite irritable, he can also switch on the charm at the drop of a hat.

He is also very skilled with daggers and sneaking around. (This is my way of saying he's a rogue in DnD settings.)

Wren was born as Zamir Kaslow, to a family of kitsune who still tried to hold to the old ways. Unfortunately, living in a modern city with six kids to feed did not allow them to live comfortably or keep in line with tradition as his mothers wanted. All of his siblings were gifted with soul-magic as kitsune, but Zamir, as the youngest, was not; he was impotent, after going to several different people who could sense magic. It wasn't that he couldn't touch it, or that it was blocked from him; it was just simply absent in him. This made him an undesirable match for arranged courtships, as his mothers wanted.

They still tried, and with every declined match, Zamir grew more and more bitter. He hated that his mothers were trying to sell him off, and that he wasn't good enough. He'd never be good enough, because his soul-magic wasn't there, and that made him less than a kitsune. It was frustrating, dehumanizing, and awful for his self-esteem.

Until his mothers found a match that took him - and the man was awful, but he didn't reveal his true colors until after the ceremony and Zamir was fully his. He was a belonging, a thing for this man, and there were instances where Zamir was inches away from seeing if he could get away with murder, when he wasn't beaten down fiercely.

He managed to escape to another city, somewhere he could not be found. Somewhere no one would look. He changed his name to an alias, and set himself up so that he would never be powerless again.
