What an ugly cat.

Lined with a sea salt taste, and the aroma of washed-up fantasies left on the shores of the beach, the breeze which drifted into the room and permeated through the very walls of the building wafted in and out of the open windows. Outside, the skies were uncharacteristically gray and overcast, and the wind over the wide expanses of brimming ocean water was picking up speed, slowly and subtly urging all the residents of the bustling town to return indoors and light their fires, to tuck themselves away until the brilliance of the sun broke through the monotonous portrait of the sky.

Inside the upstairs room of a local inn, facing the sublime picture of the gray ocean that stretched out into the horizon, leaving much to the imagination as to what lay beyond, a fluffy and somewhat less than appealing cat sat on top of an old desk, rotting away with all the telltale years of residing so close to the salty humidity of the sea. It purred and meowed with a choking, strangled sound before rolling over on the table with a playful stretch, batting at the air above it. Its off-blue eyes were fixed on the woman standing silently at the open window, the stained, white curtains billowing around her.

She looked over toward the funny feline that was sprawled out on the table, a somewhat chilled smile spread across her dark lips, and she stretched her covered hand out toward her precious kitty, stroking it with her hidden, black-tainted nails. Purring and wiggling with delight, it rolled back over, hopping onto the floor to circle around her legs.

“I just couldn’t leave you at home, could I, Se? She whispered with laughter, a touch of malice following behind her words.

There was something sadistic to her presence, and rarely was there a word to come from her mouth without some threat of abuse or a blatant tone of sarcasm. It seemed that the only affectionate words were saved exclusively for her precious cat Se, who was not the prettiest things you could ever lay your eyes on. On the other hand, the woman herself was not shy in the way she presented herself. Dark and curled hair fell without care around her shoulders, framing a pale and soft-featured face, so contrary to the expressions which characteristically flashed across it. A thick bolt of white cloth obscured her eyes, and from beneath it, patterns of black stripes and red dots stained her cheeks.

Clothed in a dress of deep blue fabric, which hung off her shoulders, corseted from neck to waste and showing a deceptive amount of pale skin, the sleeves ceased to end, becoming one long piece of fabric which hid her hands, blending in with the colour of the fabric which composed the poofy and lacey skirt. Finishing off the whole ensemble was a pair of striped tights and large, heavy boots, lined with signature buckles.

Pulling said boots on, and zipping them up, Hapi moved silent toward the inn room door, waving toward Se and making her way out into the streets, where people were still milling about, and made her way into the thriving market. People were bustling about, trying to find the odds and ends that each required, and Hapi was doing just the same, but the item she required was a bit more… Exotic. She made no noise as she looked over all of the items scattered around, ignoring the shouts of the merchants and other such people, and oblivious to the random stares her odd attire drew, but those only came from the citizens who had not already seen stranger things wandering around than her. For the most part, she was ignored, and that was how she preferred it.

As she perused one shelf of a variety of… Stuff, for lack of a better word, Hapi failed to take not of her footsteps and what just might be in the way. Before she could really even register that she had even tripped over something, she found herself sprawled, sitting amidst a variety of sacks and jars and broken clay, amongst other things. Thoroughly confused, and thoroughly shocked.

What a picture she painted, covered in debris and dust, and cursing a blue streak up and down.

(( O_O Eep, finished in a hurry!))
