Securing her bag over her shoulder again, silver-white hair framing an alabaster face with frosty blue eyes looked upon the open road before her with mixed emotions. While Adelaide was glad to be going back to the cold white lands of the tundra, she also did not enjoy the heat that seared in full around her. The weather in Adela for the past couple of months had been very miserable—for her anyway, as Adelaide much preferred anyplace cool or cold.  As for why she was even here, the ice mage was currently returning back to her home away from home after completing a job in these parts. Some nobles paid handsomely for her to help keep their drinks and meats frozen during the hot summer months so nothing went bad and spoiled. And Adelaide used her magic to do just that. Granted it wasn't something she normally did but she really needed the money as she had only a few coppers to her name. Not anymore now. Now she had quite a bit of gold on her, enough to last for several more months at this rate. And Adelaide was very glad for it.

Walking through the outer parts of Adela, past many small villages and towns, she stopped to take a breather and conjured some ice in her hand to dab at her face and neck with. Much better, she thought in satisfaction. It was too bad she couldn't summon enough ice and snow to cover the land for miles around but Adelaide was nowhere near that powerful yet. So this would have to do. After the ice had melted enough and she was sufficiently feeling cooler and much more energized, the white-haired mage flicked a wrist and the rest of it snuffed out of existence. She continued to follow the dirt path before her, which further away from the towns and cities became more and more rugged and narrow.

Stopping again another mile in underneath the shade of a tree, Adelaide created more ice in her hand to cool herself off with. But soon became aware of a presence nearby. Several presences actually. Tightening her grip on her ice rod, Adelaide searched the area with her cerulean blue eyes to determine the source of this presence, and to decide whether or not it was friend or foe. Mentally preparing her ice magics just in case.
