__________________QUICK STATS

Name Lesley Berticus Bayred (Les for short) Formerly known as Striker the famous young swordsman and dragon slayer from the Bayred clan
Age 32
Gender male
Species human
Ethnicity Adelan
Height 6'2"
Occupation Former infamous swordsman- now he's trying to remain an unknown nobody
Residence 'The Open Road' (literally!... and sometimes the tavern by the same name) Although he was originally from (born and raised!) in Bayred- a large marauders camp/ town in the Adelan mountains

__________________IN-DEPTH STUFF
Physical DescriptionStrongly built due to years of hard labor and routine, he has wild, flame red hair that falls to midback in length but half is typically shaved and framed with skinny accented braids. He is normally clean shaven. He also bears the marks of the Bayred clan.
Personality He once was an egotistical ass, now he's a somewhat lost and depressed, egotistical ass! He also might be a little bit insane (Thank you, Bayred bandits...)
Magic/Abilities Best swordsman in the world!
Relationships
Danayka- a former lover during his time spent as a Bayred
Kastius and Sol (his parents)
Lemmick - mentor
Valerie former lover/ Lemmick's daughter
Giyesh the white dragon- a ghostly white dragon known to terrorize towns. Lemmick had said the dragon only attacked within reason, and if it showed itself, which was already a rarity, then the wise beast had good reasons (apparently, the beast is from the same lands as he)
Spoiler
Apparently, Giyesh is actually Lemmick's wife- or so it may be revealed in time!

History

Lesley grew up living with a band of marauders, both of his parents had been a part of it. Life was harsh and rowdy, and he learned to keep his alcohol well before he was a teen. He was taught well with a sword, the tactics being boorish and overt- (but hey, they worked well for those of Bayred!) but he has since upgraded his style and branched out on his tactics when he was taken under the wing of a wondering swordsman name Lemmick. Lemmick was a quiet man, old- nearly 60 when he met a young Les, and uniquely skilled as a swordsman. He's said to hail from a place far from Le'raanian, but never really went into details with Les. Out on the road, Les had left the bandits to try to make a name for himself (to be fair, he was a big talker and got himself into this mess by saying he had so much potential, he could be bigger than all of the Bayreds!) Stubborn to a fault and not one to back off on what he started, he took his big head to the open road to become the famous swordsman he is (was?) today!

Lemmick taught him more than just sword skills,- humility as well, as he kicked the kid down a few notches. He also taught him loyalty and some heart- a lot of what the boy was lacking. The big, hot headed kid from Bayred only ever thought about his ego- but now he was beginning to learn life was far more than just that. Eventually he and Lemmick began to make noise, facing off against famous bandits and beasts in the Adelan mountains. Eventually, it was said Les had gone solo against a dragon and won.

It's hard to say what stories during Les's younger years or true and which are embellished, but he was famous throughout most of the area- his legends even reaching as far as the capital city of Arca. For how swiftly he could strike down his foes, he took up the moniker of 'Striker' for a time- but he eventually 'disappeared'- and most believed the legendary swordsman had died. Truthfully, something terrible happened that nearly cost him his life- but DID cost him his mentor's life, as Lemmick sacrificed himself to save the kid- telling him in his dying breaths to eat his ego and use his sword to do good in this world.

But Lesley was crushed. Lemmick had been like a father to him and they had lived together through so many tall tales- it was hard to see life after him. And he knew Lemmick had a daughter and so took it upon himself to bring his remains to her. Only the woman he met wasn't what he was expecting, and Les found himself falling in love with the woman. Only it wasn't meant to be. The two had gotten into an argument about the white dragon of Giyesh.

She wanted to hunt it down and have it slaughtered, for it was a ruthless being who was destroying too many towns and lives. Les, however, knew what his former mentor thought of Giyesh and told her not to persue the dragon; even after it had decimated the town the two had lived. He tried to convince her what her father believed- that the dragon attacked for a reason they were not seeing- but she was too upset, good friends of hers had died during that attack and she was taking up her sword for vengeance. When Les moved to stop her, the pair split and never saw each other again. And that's when Les fell into his more permanent spiral, because of how harsh and cruel she was to him before they split ways that her words struck him to his core. Now he's beginning to second guess his whole life, and has lost his purpose and wonders aimlessly, without a purpose.
