Human, Sedvlin Adelan

{HEIGHT/BUILD}
5'10", average

{OCCUPATION}

{RESIDENCE}
Varies, usually around La'marri and the Serha Plains, sometimes into Zantaric or down south to Essyrn. He doesn't stay still too long.

___________
IN DEPTH STUFF
___________

{PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION}
Build; Dog Chasing Grass is fairly average in his build. He's taller, but not any more than any other Adelan. He's got muscle from a lifetime of traveling long distances, either on his own two feet or riding.

Color; Tan, with rich brown hair and light brown, nearly golden eyes.

Alterations; N/A, human, human-shape.

Modifications; N/A

Dress; Despite being far from his home territory in Sedvli, Dog Chasing Grass keeps to the same dress as one would expect in Sedvli, with only mild alterations. He still wraps his chest in strips of cloth to "bind" it, and still keeps to the loose layering of his Sedvlin kin. He doesn't keep to the makeup and skin-staining paints, which he largely attributes to just being too lazy to hunt down the right paint. His hair is kept as a very long mohawk that he either braids back or leaves loose, though he lapses in shaving the sides now and then and it tends to be grown out more often than not.

{PERSONALITY}
Curious, cheerful, a roll-with-the-punches sort. Definitely fits his name very well.

Fun Facts!:
  • Despite his often very solitary work, he does like people. Most people. Some people can walk into the ocean.
  • Loves trying different cuisines, the man will try any dish once.
  • Will make little dolls out of long grass to hand off to kids if he's riding with a caravan.
  • Magic makes him sneeze.

{SPECIAL ABILITIES}
Empath; like most Sedvlins who ride pronghorns, Dog Chasing Grass has the empath psionic, able to tap into the feelings of others and also psychically project his own. As a result, he's usually very good at calming critters (and people) down.

{RELATIONSHIPS}
Family; He does have family back home, and sometimes he remembers to send them a letter to reassure them that he's alive.

Friend; a pronghorn antelope creature native to the Adelan grasslands. They've been bonded since Dog Chasing Grass found his name, and one gets the sense that the antelope is more intelligent than her rider.

{HISTORY}
TBD

"No one suspects the dead fop," he replied with an impish wink. Fletcher's complaints were met with a deepening smirk and Theo signing 'later~' at him.

He scuttled into the barn quickly and was greeted by a much calmer Aya than months previous. "Hello beautiful," he cooed at her, rubbing his nose and face into her fur as he scratched her neck and cheeks.

"So what do you think is up with Aneisha?"

The look he gave Theo shifted into one of admiration. "You're quite good at that," he replied as they headed off for the stables. As he spoke, he walked backwards so that Theo could read him better...and maybe so that he could look at the man, too. "I still think you'd be a good spy. And a good sneak. Maybe we should pull more heists together. Bit of practice, you know?" Fletcher laughed at the thought, high on even the slightest of mischief. Then the breeze picked up, and he winced. "Fuck me, it's freezing. Guess I did ask for it. Come on. Let's get to the stables."

Aneisha gasped at hearing she was getting a present and moved in quickly to give Fletcher a hug. A cookie was dropped into his pocket as she did so with a wink as he filched the coffee cup.

Theodore meanwhile was looking every bit like the cat that ate the canary as he was chased out after Fletcher. Only once they were further along did he reach into his pocket to reveal the sugar. "All according to plan.~ Too worried about the carrots to worry about the real prize," he beamed with pride.

Fletch chuckled. "Hey, you keep your secrets and I'll keep mine," he replied cryptically. "I've got you something good for Yule, though, don't you worry. So I'd better still be your number one man." As Kenna rounded on Theo, he took advantage of the distraction and quickly finished pouring his coffee. He held the mug by his side and out of her sight, though Neish got a front row seat to his tomfoolery. "Well, got to be moving on. Busy day and all. See you," he called, and before the cook could even register what was happening, he'd darted out the back and onto the grounds, coffee splashing out of the cup and onto the floor.

He waited until Theo emerged, clutching his prize and grinning like a fool. "Gives you a thrill, don't it?"

"He who?" Aneisha asked with a deeply questioning face. "And why is he trying anything? And why do you look so grumpy? Aren't you excited Yule's almost here?"

Oblivious to the conversation at hand, Theo managed to pluck up a couple of carrots that he stuffed into his clothes and a handful of sugar cubes. He was just going for a strip of dried meat when Kenna's all knowing spoon smacked him lightly on the knuckles.

"None of that. I won't have you spoiling that dog with the choice kitchen scraps. And the carrots come on. Hand them over."

Theo pouted but handed over both carrots but the moment her back was turned he grinned knowing he has managed to keep what he was truly after.

Snarg didn't respond. He didn't feel any need to say anything. All that she got with a soft grunt in reply simply to acknowledge that he was, in fact, listening. At the end of the day he didn't care what this trapped spirit said or how she decided to view the world. His life had ceased to be his own after that day on the road.

He had been weak and now he was strong. He had been honorable and now he knew that honor meant nothing if your own decision making was flawed. Fuck, she had been trapped in that armor for who knows how long – she had to know that same truth on some basic level of understanding. She had clearly made some questionable choices which had landed her in her little prison.

Just because his prison didn't have walls didn't mean he wasn't in the exact same position.

So he sat there. If she wanted to fight, he'd fight. His blades were still attached to his belt, though he made no move to retrieve them. His lot in life was to do what others wanted, earn coin, and then sleep until the next job came along. There was nothing else to it. One day a job would kill him, or drink, or old age, or whatever Death himself decided was good for him.

At the end of the day it didn't matter. Honorable deaths didn't matter. Life didn't matter. He wouldn't take his own life, that was too good for him, but he wouldn't shy away from death when it came knocking to claim him.

Jin's arm suddenly coming flying towards her took Clover completely by surprise, slamming into her as she attempted to grasp it and nearly knocking the wind out of her. In fact, his attempt to save her came close to inadvertently knocking her back down to the ground- if it weren't for the fact that she was already practically holding on to him for dear life, he'd probably have swept her clean off of her feet. She shot him a glare in response to him lecturing her, but otherwise didn't appear to object much to him helping her along.

The longer they went without coming across any sign of her pendant, though, the more her grip on his arm tightened. It couldn't have been long since he'd dropped it, but still- what if someone else had already found it and taken it for themselves? And even if they didn't intend on stealing it, how would she be able to quickly find them and get their attention? It wasn't like she could call out to ask if anyone had seen it, after all. And Jin was... well, she supposed he was at least trying to help, but he was also... himself. No, if there was any chance of her recovering her pendant, it would have to come from her finding it herself.

"You deaf too, now?" Fletcher muttered. He shook his head, growing more and more serious by the second. He thought of Zoey, and the number of times he'd had to fight off her suitors when she clearly wasn't old enough for them. But she'd been eleven, and Neish wasn't so young. She was grown enough, as Theo had reminded him long ago. And he could no more scare off every boy interested in her than he could control the weather. The tension in his shoulders eased. "Well. He tries anything, you know where to find me," he relented, sounding a bit resigned to the idea that he wouldn't in fact be out brawling with some young upstart anytime soon. With one final shake of the head, he turned back to make his coffee.

"Hmm?" The young woman sounded as she brushed past him gracefully to grab a spoon. Aneisha continued to hum and spin through the kitchen, flitting from one spot to the next in a kind of giddy absent-mindedness that gave Theo pause.

Was this what he looked like since accepting not only his love for Fletcher but also being confessed to by the same man? Was he so obvious that anyone with eyes could see he was in love? And as Fletcher had asked...who WAS the boy that had the scullery maid who was a hair width away from bursting into song at any moment.

He felt exhausted already from the possibilities but was far from above using the current uncertainty and curiosity as an excuse to look for treats.
