@Spicyspice Medina had woken from her accidental nap to a dark empty room to a strange radiating pain in her abdomen.
While aware there was an event tonight, she had not been required, or asked to attend - which was fine with her. Medina had to practically roll over to sit up and she winced when her back hurt and... Where was Hope? Medina swallowed thickly, looking to the bassinet in the corner. A twinge in her stomach made her wince but... She'd felt enough of those while she was pregnant with Hope. Fred had told her they were just muscle twitches. They would be fine. Though, this pregnancy had seemed to be a little bit more delicate than the one she had with Hope. Like being pampered had made her... Weaker. It wasn't a real thing. Medina wasn't a stupid woman. Sometimes, they were just delicate and... Had to be protected.
The pair had also not been surrounded by Mordecai.
Medina sucked in a breath before she stood up, grabbing a blanket and wrapping it around herself to ward off the chill from her barefeet on the cold floor.
"Where's my son?" She asked the maid waiting by her door, trying to squint at the woman through the twinge. The maid paled slightly before she looked down the hall and then back at Medina, mouth opening and then closing again. "
Where is my son," she snarled at the girl. They had
never not instantly answered her. They had
always known where her boy was.
"My lady," The girl started, reaching for her, hands shaking, "My lady he just slipped away," she didn't want to lie. Medina was in a delicate state, they knew! Lying would make it worse, right? Medina winced before she pushed the door open. "I could have taken care of him!" Medina snarled at the girl, marching down the hall, one hand supporting her pregnant belly. Though quickly she stumbled and leaned heavily against the wall. "I'm..." Medina hitched a breath, eyes falling closed for a moment, nightgown clutched in her fingers.
"Tina," Medina looked at the girl, fear in her eyes, "Go... Go get someone," She panted, sweat gathering at her temples at the sudden onslaught of pain. It was too soon. Medina felt panic flair up in her chest as the sound of footsteps ran down the hallway. Her heart pounded as surely as the pain grew worse. Tears of pain and panic pricked at her golden eyes while she moved back to the bedroom. Maybe she could lay down. Maybe it would be better if she went back to sleep.
There were so many mordecai here she couldn't heal herself if she tried. She could barely force herself to run and she'd have to run so far... She wanted her brother. No, she wanted her
sister. She wanted her Stranger and as she climbed back onto her bed and propped herself up with pillows and tried to breathe as calmly as she could Medina just wanted the pain to go away.
