Although he was quite intent on his acquisition of her fresh fruit, Lex did not miss the inching movement Maya made toward the door. He actually laughed out loud, his smirk had never left his face, and this was quite amusing.
"Woman, why do you bother to try and run from me," he asked through his laughter, "before you could get two steps I'd be on you." To prove his point he leaped from his spot on the table, grabbing her and tossing her, not too roughly to the thick rugs that covered the floor. The kiwi, abandoned on the table had left its juice in his hand, that Maya now had pressed against her partially opened mouth. With the one hand across her mouth, he held both of her small hands above her head in his other, and pinned her legs beneath his. At nearly a foot taller than the diminutive woman, and over fifty pounds heavier, there was no way she'd break free, no matter how much she squirmed or bucked. The casual grin never left his face. It all was just a joke to him, a fun little game. He put his mouth close to her ear and spoke at a whisper.
"If anyone came for you now I would not hurt them, I'm not so cruel to hurt common folk. But if I were, I'd slay them with great ease." He motioned with his head to the bow across his back, the one he had not drawn when he fired off his arrows in the market. "That ones magic, puts my arrow in the heart of my target without any effort. No man or woman stands a chance against Heart Finder." He lifted his head back up to look into Maya's beautiful eyes, still outlined in kohl. "Such a beautiful color, like leaves at the start of summer."
"Well Maya," he had not forgotten her name, "I simply came to tell you that it's extremely rude to break your word. Even a spoiled noble girl should know that. I rescued you, and released you with little trouble, though I could have taken more than your worth from your own hide. I know where you live. I myself live in the trees, by choice mind you. Oh no, I'm about to go on a tangent, that would do neither of us any good," he paused in his speech and looked into her eyes. He did not see understanding, only fear. "Poor girl, you have no idea what horrors this world holds. Your maidenhead will remain intact. You are much too lovely a flower to pluck without permission." He gave her a wink, and a warm kiss on her brow. "I'm going to release you now, and return to that kiwi. Then I'll help you clean this mess, which I assume will be me cleaning while you fume. Then we will chat about civility and manners, which I've found you to be lacking, and I'm a knave."
As quick as he was on her, he was off again, and far enough away that she could not strike his manhood in any random flailing she might do. True to his word, he returned to the kiwi. "This thing is really sweet, what's it called?"
