In the months since Uriel came to Yoreiq, his appearance had vastly changed. He no longer had the Magnus hood or the chain mail vest, someone had decided it was time for him to share. He still kept his sword, that was one thing he would not part with. His skin had tanned heavily, not quite like the natives but not noticeable from a distance. Also his wings had changed, they were now black at the top and greyed to white as they went down. There were also more subtle changes, his wings had gotten stronger, a lot stronger. He could fly farther, higher, and faster then ever before. He was more or less conversational in the Yoroiq language.

Presently he found himself flying not far from the port of Ainu, searching for a place to train, he always trained away from the village that was supporting him. Supporting was a strong word, it was more putting up with him, he did pull his own weight. He found that he was good at spear fishing, so that is what he did most days.

There, he spotted a small clearing, he landed in it an prepared to begin training.

Sunflower Dawn

Lukkan was just finishing up his order on a couple of bedmats when he heard the sound of wings flapping in the sky, not far from where he was sitting.  Glancing up, he saw a young man getting ready to land in the clearing by the shop where Lukkan worked.  Not wanting to stare too hard, he realized that he didn't know this person...not yet anyway.  He wondered who this new guy was, and if he was friendly.

"Lukkan!"  the master to whom Lukkan was under apprenticeship called out to him.  "It's a nice day, kid...finish that order and you can go home."

Lukkan nodded his understanding and grinned.  "Thanks, I'd like that!"  he called back jovially.  He bent over his mats again, keeping one eye on the new guy.  He saw that his wings were not unlike his own...except the gradation was better.  Feeling masculine somewhat, Lukkan decided that he wanted to add ochre dye to the tips of his own feathers and show off a bit.

Not wanting to lose sight of this guy, Lukkan was torn between finishing his work and getting up and talking with him.  He wanted to know this guy's name, at least...and maybe find a friend in him.
