Time: Atfernoon
Location: In a sma patch of woods a little bit away from Darken Veu
Sheshia hated wolves bitterly. Every time she meet one a shiver goes down her spine. Her stomach and side hurt like crazy where one scratched her a few minutes ago when she was in her cat form hunting for food but instead the tables had turned and she became the hunted. She also had to shift back to her regular form to at least have a fighting chance. Blood was dripping from her wound as it seeped through her leather hunting tunic as she ran and all over the hand she was using the apply pressure to the wound, leaving a thick trail of blood. Eventually (after nearly tripping multiple times over tree roots, rocks and shalloe dips in the ground) she comes across a large fallen tree that lays across a ravine that had a stream and rocks at the bottom of it. The werecat starts to climb across it gripping the trunk woth her free hand to help keep her balance. When she crosses the log she hids behind a pile of rocks with thorns close to her just in case she needed it. She laid against the rock taking deep breaths hoping someone would come help her even though the odds were slim. With the sound of the hungry wolves coming closer very slowly she started to lose hope.
"Fuuu..."
Raid breathed out slowly, and calmed himself. He couldn't let them detect his presence... A pack of wolves, totaling to 6, were in hot pursuit of a wounded prey that he couldn't see. He smiled. It wasn't often that a perfect opportunity like this would show itself. The rest of the hunting party would just have to find something else.
An arrow coursed through the air as the wolves began their sprint to the wounded creature taking refuge behind a large rock.
Bullseye!
Raid quickly vaulted out from his cover and switched to a large knife he had hidden along his waist. He threw it with as much power as he could muster to the closest live wolf as he landed on the ground near them. Swiftly kicking one of the wolves that pounced on him, he dashed over towards his knife that was now imbedded in the neck of another. 4 wolves were easy, but 6 was going to be a challenge. He let out a cry of glee. He had almost forgotten how fun it was to hunt.
Hearing the commotion with the wolves Sheshia wanted to try and help but she had no idea who the person was or if he or she was a good person. Her instincts told her to stay put and quiet to hopefully lower her heart beat a bit and raking quiet deep breaths. All the same time resisting her urge to run farther.
OOC: Wolf's Perspective
The thick stench of blood was intoxicating as they approached the wounded cat. The female wolf glanced at two of her children. She perked her ears up, the signal to attack. All at once the entire pack surged forward to the hiding place of the prey.
I haven't had a feast this grand in ages... The wolf thought as they closed in.
She was in mid-jump when she heard the howl of a friend cry out behind her. She whipped herself around. There was an intruder. Before she could react however, another, this time one of her own children, crumpled down to the ground from a wound in its neck. This wasn't a small fry. If she didn't act now, they would be annihilated.
"Cease the hunt, we've got bigger prey!" She cried. Barking out orders, she jumped at the human who dared to kill two of her pack.
A sudden, blinding pain erupted on the side of her face as she was swept to the ground. Her vision was blurry as she tried to focus on her target. Blood was oozing out of a gash in her mouth. She emitted a low growl. He had kicked her, as if she was some lowly mongrel.
Damn human, I'll rip your throat out! She thought as she regrouped with her pack and charged once again.
OOC: Raid's Perspective
What do these wolves think they're doing? Raid laughed as he brushed aside the two and let his knife run along the body of the third. Blood splashed on his face and dyed his silver hair crimson. They're making this too easy!
He was hoping they'd have the smarts enough to try something other than charge him recklessly. He wanted to put his life on the line, he wasn't at all interested in entertaining idiot pups. He turned to face the remaining two that he had let slip past him. Brandishing his glistening knife, he pointed it at them.
"Well?"
One of the wolves, most likely the alpha female, perked up its ears.
Raid fell to the ground as his leg was torn apart by a third wolf that had ambushed him from behind. He cried out in pain as he jammed his knife into its skull.
Shit! There were six, dammit!
Just as Raid thought this, he saw out of the corner of his eyes that the two remaining wolves had leaped at him, their fangs bared.
Sheshia smelled even more blood and sat up a bit grinding her teeth together. That and the laughter made her curious so she finds a gap in the rocks and looks through it very quickly seeing Raid kneeling on the ground with a pile of dead wolves near him while je looked at the alpha.
OOC: Wolf's Perspective
Ah, truly, nothing beats tearing into flesh, She thought. However, she hadn't quite gotten what she was aiming for. Instead of the neck, all she got a mouthful of was the man's arm. She looked over to her second child who had charged with her. It had bitten the man's hand, but it also had a blade protruding from its forehead.
The idiot... Why would she bite the knife?
Of course, she was aware that it was not its intention to, it was simply that the man was too skilled. She was alone, once again with everyone in her pack dead. She felt like crying. She shifted her attention back to the man as she dislodged herself and jumped back. She should at the very least kill this human to avenge her brethren. It was crippled now, it should be an easy matter to take it out. She made a last ditch effort at the man, lunging at its neck.
The human had outstretched its hand and whispered something. An object she couldn't quite identify shimmered into existence and blasted a hole through her. She looked down as she fell to the ground, and wondered how her perfect hunt had deteriorated into this mess. She closed her eyes for the final time, and landed with a thud on the ground.
Upon hearing the thud and then nothing the werecat carefully poked her head from behind the rocks seeing all the wolves dead and Raid injured. She didn't want to startle him so she stayed put incase he was still dangerous. She couldn't last another fight otherwise she'd definitely go unconscious which she was close to the verge of which. Eventually she worked up enough courage to whisper, "You okay sir?" Trying to keep her accent from becoming to pronounced since many people thought it odd, it helped that her throat was dry which made her voice a bit raspy also. She looks to where she had been laying and relized she had bleed a huge pool of blood which was bigger then she hoped for.
Oh hey! It's a human! Raid thought as he called out to her.
"Seems like I saved your life, mind if you could do the same?"
Raid was bleeding badly, and his leg and arm would probably need to be amputated or something. He hoped this person had some kind of magic to stop the bleeding. Normally he would just freeze his wounds, but, he didn't quite think he'd cast it in time with the current state he was in. Thinking all this to himself, Raid promptly fainted.
The were-cat sighs and walks up to Raid, " I don't know much healing, but hopefully this'll work. It usually works with wounds like yours, mines in such a sensitive spot that medicinal stuff would have to work, you know because my organs, muscled and stuff like that. Besides your leg is pretty bad it's going to need lots of attention or be cut off if deemed nessicary" She kneels down and starts to mumble a few phrases very quickly and the wounds start to stop bleeding and a bit more blood starts to flow from them. Sheshia knew it was good so she kept mumbling the phrase untill she felt that he would be fine for a while. She was still cautious of him so she hides by climbing up a tree and puts some cobwebs on her wounded stomach waiting for Raid to come around. Hoping he'd be fine until more get there.
OOC: Hunting Party's perspective for most of it.
"Raid!! RAID!!! Gods dammit where the hell is that bastard?"
Uriam and the rest of the hunting party had been wandering for the last hour or so searching for the idiot who had ran off in the forest. Raid had stupidly ran off in the middle of a hunt, chasing a quarry that they couldn't discern. Uriam sighed. He knew of Raid's skill, but he wished Raid would focus more on the team.
As they passed a clearing, they found the carcass of a dead wolf with an arrow sticking out of its head. Found him, Uriam thought, as he called out to the others. "I think he's-" Uriam's voice was cut off by another. "Uri! Get the hell over here! Raid's in some deep shit!"
As Uriam approached, he could see the blood splattered around the site. He almost didn't want to see what had happened, but forced himself to look. There, in the shrubbery near a large rock, he could see Raid's figure crumpled, with blood stains and puncture wounds littered along two of his limbs. The bleeding seemed to have stopped temporarily, but it didn't look like it was going to hold out for long.
"Elran, get over here, we need you to treat this wound!" shouted Uriam. While Uriam was busy getting a splint ready, Raid, who had awoken, stared intently through half closed eyes at a tree off to the side, dribbling blood.
I must say, I'm impressed. Raid thought. Healing magic. How convenient. He was jealous. Healing magic, no matter how weak, was always a welcome edition to any party. Wonder if she's going to get out of that tree... From what I could tell, she had a pretty bad injury too... Well, if she can't heal herself we got a fire mage that can cauterize it for her. I've got some questions I want to ask her after all... Which reminded him...
Raid looked over to Uriam with slight apprehension.
"Raid! You're awake! Thank the gods!! Uh... Though it might have been better if you had just stayed unconscious for a bit longer. Bear the pain, ok?"
Oh. Shi-
Sheshia looked down at Raid and back up deeper into the tree as his party arrived. She started to trust him but didn't want to interfere with what they where doing to him. The werecats instinct was to stay quiet and hide. Which she gladly did while she watched intently and trying to.learn what they were doing to him and listening to what they were all talking about.
He slowly moved his head to the side and looked at his now burnt arm. Nice and toasty. Though I prefer medium rare, I guess well done isn't that bad too. Who was he kidding, not even a temple priest could heal his arm and leg now.
"Raid, let's go back." said Uriam. As if I could go back. I still need to gather the wolf skins and get that girl... He figured it probably wasn't a good idea to tell them about her, she'd definitely run after seeing what they did to him.
"You guys go ahead. I have unfinished business here." Uriam looked at Raid in surprise. "What the fuck are you talking about? Do you even realize what state your in? As if you can do shit as you are now!" Certainly got a point there, Raid thought. "Well that isn't for you to decide is it? Look, I'm appreciative of you guys saving me, but I'd appreciate it even more if you could leave me here for a bit." Uriam had a look of disgust on his face. "Fine. Everyone, we're leaving."
When they left, Raid let out a sigh of relief. He would definitely pay them back later. No matter how shoddy a job they did on him, it didn't change the fact that he would have died otherwise. He shifted his attention back to the tree. "You gonna come out? Or should I just leave?"
Shesgia watches until the whole entire partt leaves except for Raid. When she is sure they were gone she jumps out of the tree and lands with a grunt. "What do you want?" She looked at what they did with his arm and his leg. "Seems like they did the best they could for you right now. Better then nothing." She really wasn't the social type so she stayed quiet looking at the bloody ground.
"I'm aware, believe it or not I'm quite grateful for what they did. Same goes to you though, thanks for stopping the bleeding. Now, question is, are you going to be ok? It looks like you got quite a nasty number done on your stomach... I don't mind helping if you want, not that I can do much in my current state..." Raid laughed. He couldn't freeze it, it was too close to her vitals, but he supposed he could gather up some medical plants from around the area to treat it.
"I'll probably need to get it looked at later on but you can help it if you can. Won't make it far like this at all." To be honest Sheshia felt like sleeping, she was probably tired from all that running ir having to shift earlier to keep herself alive longer. Though she understood why Raid was happy with what his companions have done to him, if not he would probably begin bleeding again since she didn't have the right energy to cast another spell.
Wait, is she seriously going to faint on me? Raid thought with a hint of alarm. She seemed dazed and tired, from the quantity of blood she was letting out it probably wasn't good. He was still a bit woozy from the blood loss himself, but if he was going to help her, he'd need to do it now.
He pulled himself up onto his good leg. "Stay still and try to stop the blood. I'll get some herbs. If you move anymore, well, you'll probably kill yourself." It was truly amazing how she'd been able to move around till now with that kind of wound. Most people would have bled out. It was almost inhuman.
Holding on to tree trunks and branches, he hobbled himself forward. C'mon... Easy does it...almost there... There was a plant a bit up ahead that if he remembered correctly helped clot blood. He had seen it next to him when he was preparing to ambush the wolves. He grabbed a handful of it, put it in between his teeth, and carefully made his way back to the girl.
Sheshia didn't feep like arguing that she was fine if it lead to a fight. So she sat down and put even more pressure on her wound whilr she watched Raid hobble away. She wasn't sure about his friends, they looked nice and all but she didn't want to take any chances still. So when she is well enough if she is in a few minutes she'd probably try and run. Though her hopes were low for escape. The fact that she was part demon and a werecat made her want to stay away from people incase of persecution. Though it was pretty lonely but it was for her own safety amd the safety of other.
"Phew, made it," Raid managed to get out before he slumped down on a tree nearby.
He tossed the pile of leaves to the girl. "Use it, it'll help the bleeding stop." He looked at her. "So. What happened with you? The stomach's a really weird place to get bitten. Did you try to hug one of these things or something?" Raid asked as he began skinning a nearby wolf with his knife.
Sheshia begins to tear up the leaves. Upon hearing Raids question she tenses a tiny bit. "Can't tell you. Let's just say it's complicated. The less you know would probably be better." She applies a bit of the torn up leaves to her wound and starts on the other leaves. They stung a bit but she didn't care much for it.
Ugh, seriously? I thought we were getting along though... Raid thought half jokingly. He supposed he'd just have to learn some other way. He looked at her treating her wounds and called out to her.
"Hey, just gonna let you know, those only help in stopping the bleeding temporarily. If you don't get proper treatment you're still screwed."
Raid paused and pondered for a moment. Right, she needs to get treatment... As he was now, he couldn't really walk out of this forest himself, and she was definitely going to bleed out or something if she tried. Which means we need other people to help us out.
...Which means it was actually really stupid to send everyone away.
"Aargh shit! I fucked up!!" He clutched his head with his good arm, and cried out. Nononono, I gotta stay calm or my wounds are going to open up again. Raid breathed in deeply, and exhaled. He looked over to the girl. "Uh, by any chance do you know how we're going to get out of here?" he asked, with a slightly uneasy smile on his face.
Sheshia listened to Raid yell in frustration. "Yeah, I know a way but it's kinda far. Is there away for you to get your friends back? That is unless you want to walk a mile up a few rocks and hills." She finished up the leaves and puts the cobwebs back onto the wound and lays down.
Up a few rocks and hills, huh. Raid looked at his burnt leg and arm, and then more closely at the girl's wound. Yeah, not happening. If it was just a mile, I might be able to get across in a few days, but if she tried it... Well she'd need to be superhuman to make it. And getting the hunting party back was out of the question. He had no real way of contacting them, and they were probably miles away now.
Guess we don't really have a choice then... Rocks and hills it is. Raid got up, and beckoned to the girl. "Well? I don't know if you're gonna make it as you are, but where's this path you mentioned?"
"Just got to follow the blood trail. That'll lead us to it." She thinks for a moment, "Yeah that's the way. We might have to take breaks though, like every once in a while unfortunately." She gets up slowly stretches her arm. "You ready?" She really wasn't looking forward to this. It'll make healing harder for both of them.
As if I'd ever be ready... This was not going to be pleasant. He supposed he'd have to leave the wolf skins. He was already regretting agreeing to this.
"Yeah, I'm ready. Let's g- ah, wait. I forgot to ask, what's your name?"
"Names Sheshia." Sheshia says and checks her wound before walking away carefully.
"Whoa, wait!" Raid quickly hobbled after her, using a branch he snapped off a tree for support.
Damn, she's fast for a person whose stomach was ripped apart...
"What? We have to move quickly, or as fast as we can before night time. Or we'd be in trouble." Sheshia stops and waits. "Well as fast as we can mobe actually. I'd rather live to see another kill though. Where would your companions be at?"
She had a strange accent. Raid couldn't quite determine her place of origin though. He figured he must have been unable to notice it until now because of the raspiness in her voice. "They're probably heading over to the town. I don't really know anything other than that. Sorry though, you're right. I'll try to keep up." He repositioned the branch so he could use it like a crutch, and moved forward.
"So, Sheshia. Where you from?"
"Much farther up in the mountains. How about you Raid?" She looked at the ground and continues to follow her blood trail, keeping an eye on Raid and herself. Since going unconscious now would be extremely bad.
Raid had a startled look on his face. How'd she know my- ah, she must have overheard the others talking. "I'm from a little town in the Wester Highlands. Haven't been back there in a long time." Raid laughed, and looked over to Sheshia. She looked as if she would fall over any second. "Uh, you don't look so good. Should we take a rest?"
"I'm fine. Just feel like crap. I want to keep going." She really just wanted to get help for both of them before ot was to late. Then she would finally be able to relax. She kept on walking amd ignored the pain that came with each step amd breath and also the screaming of her body to take a break which she might never wake up from again.
Raid sighed. He decided if she fell over, he was no longer be held responsible for it. Since she said she could keep going, they would keep going.
A few hours later, much earlier than Raid had anticipated, the first town came into view. "Hmm, didn't think we'd get here so fast..." The sun had set, and it was beginning to become dark. His leg was bleeding again, but other than that he was fine. Turning around to Sheshia, who was barely hanging on, he said, "Hey, you know any priests or doctors around here?"
Gods, she's terrifying... How'd she even make it? he thought. However, Raid decided to not bother to question it as he continued on with her.
"I don't come here often so I have no idea." Sheshia looks around and sighs, "I don't like towns much, but just come here to hopefully learn new words. Maybe we should try to find your crew?"
"Whoa whoa whoa, you are in no condition to do anything but get help right now. And nor am I. Before we search for anyone, we need to get to a doctor or something." Raid headed over to the town as fast as he could with his leg, crying out for help to the townsfolk.

Sheshia sighs, he had a point though. She continues to look around and eventually runs into a doctor. She introduces herself.
(Doctor's view point)
The doctor was stunned in the condition the woman was in. The blood that drenched her tunic was shocking. What was more wierd was that she was still standing. "Okay, Sheshia I'm going to need you to follow me so I can get you fixed up." When the woman shook her head saying she had a friend injured pretty badly he decided to follow her.
Sheshias POV:
Sheshia walks up to Raid with a bright smile on her face, "Found a doctor." She introduces the doctor to Raid. "We're going to get patched up now." She was sort of excited but yet not because the pain would be excruciating.

As Raid was dragged in to the doctor's house, he could hear the murmurs of the townsfolk. "They look dead..." "What happened to his..." "Her stomach is..." "....monsters, we need to..."
His injured leg hit a rock hard, and he fainted. The doctor looked at him. He muttered under his breath, "Ah.., he must have been exhausted."
When Raid woke up, he could hear two men speaking. Hmm...? Oh, the doctor's house. Raid strained his head to get a glimpse of the people talking. It was the doctor, speaking to a hooded man in a robe, presumably a priest. The priest seemed rather flustered. Looking away, Raid turned over to his side. On the bed next to him, Sheshia was sleeping. He wanted to check her wound, but it was covered up by a blanket. Oh yeah! My injuries! reminded, Raid tried to wriggle the toes on his bad foot, and then tried to turn his ankle in small semicircles. His leg seemed to have gone through a complete recovery. Most likely the doing of the priest. And I doubted they could do it when it was burned, haha... He was in good spirits, he had never expected it would be healed so well. The priests were really something else. He tried lifting his right arm that had been bitten apart and burned. He could almost feel it moving up, but he couldn't see it.

The doctor pauses from his conversation and checks Raids eyes for any sign of traumatic stress. He nods, "How do you feel son?" He asks Raid looking pleased with the results.
"Ah...aha...ahahaha.... Where's my arm...? I can't seem to find it...haha... This is a bad joke doc..." Raid covered his eyes with the wrist of his left hand. His mouth formed a scowl. He breathed deeply, in and out, for about ten seconds. "Am I in good enough condition to leave, Mr. Doctor? I have better things to be doing then sitting around."
"You are but what about your friend?" The doctor really wanted her to wake up soon since her wound was in such a dangerous area and he wanted to see how it felt. Though Raid was probably going to be fine though he'd have to be a bit more careful since he lost his arm.
Raid looked at Sheshia. He sighed, and pulled himself out of his bed. "I'm just going to look around town for a bit, if she wakes up, tell her I'll be back." Raid pulled the covers back to their original position on the bed, and after stretching his arm, he head out.
Doctor's pov)
The doctor nods as Raid heads out and he feels Sheshias forehead and checks her wound and smiles that both his patients healed perfectly was a releif. Though he hoped nether of them would get to seriously hurt again.
Sheshia pov)
Sheshia woke up and jumps a bit sitting uo quickly. The doctor steps back and smiles, "Your friend went out for a while and he'll be back." Sheshia nods. The doctor offers her some watered down wine which Sheshia gratefully accepts and she starts to drink in eyeing the priest once in awhile. The doctor sits down looking curious. "So dear, how did you and Raid get injured like that?" She really didn't want to answer that question on her behalf. So since Raid was the one who found her she decided to wait till he gets back and explain his side or if he didn't feel like it she'd explain the most part of hers leaving out her cat form bit. So she shrugs, "Wait for Raid to get back to exlpain his side." The doctor looked flushered and confused while Sheshia continued to drink her wine.
Raid tried to move his right shoulder to no avail. Sighing, he sat down next to the wall of a house nearby. He clawed out a bit of grass and punched the ground with his left hand. He let out a cry of annoyance. Fucking.. Damn..! He figured this was the end of his hunting career. It wasn't like he could pull back a bow, or properly fight anymore.
After calming himself sufficiently, he retired to the doctor's home. Upon entering, he was met with the doctor's impatient grimace, and Sheshia's nonchalant figure. The priest seemed to have gone off on their own. Raid scratched his head. "Um..." The doctor quickly cut off Raid. "So what happened to you two?" Why is he asking me? Raid wondered. "Ehm, we fell down stairs got attacked by a few wolves out in the forest... and they bit us a few times." The doctor looked doubtful. "Are you telling me you burned your own wounds and fought off the wolves by yourselves after getting bitten to pieces, and then managed to walk back here?"
Raid was slightly confused now. Jeez, the hells with this doctor? "Yeah, that's exactly what I'm saying. Is there an issue?" The doctor smiled. "Finally, so that's what happened..." He shot a glare at Sheshia. He continued, "So you two aren't too bad at hunting I assume, and it seems like you two have Lady Luck on your side. I hate to request this of you, but truth is..."
"Don't tell me you sent those damned wolves for us or is that just a coincidence?" Sheshia was scared what he was going to say either he was behind it or they had to leave the town. "If that's what you meant then you want me to tell you huh?" Either way her blood line was going to be revealed one day. So it could be sooner or later.
OOC: Doctor
"Hmmm? Why would I send wolves after you? No, that had nothing to do with me. I'm a doctor you know, I'd prefer if you didn't make wild claims like that." Lowering his voice a bit, the doctor moved closer to Sheshia. "And as for your secret, it's safe with me, you don't need to say it to Mr. Raid here if you don't want to." He had discovered what Sheshia was when he was doing the operation on her stomach. However, he felt it was unnecessary to spread the information. It would likely result in her getting killed by the townsfolk, or perhaps even the hunter, which was hardly what he wanted. He had spent quite a bit of effort to get her back in good condition after all.
The doctor continued. "No, what I wanted to ask was, there's an issue we're having with some kind of wild beast recently. It's been killing livestock, as well as some villagers. I figured if you two were resourceful enough to fight off a pack of wolves, you could probably scout out the area for the beast. I'm not asking you both to fight it, I mean, I know your condition better than anyone else. Just find it, identify it, and come back. Think of it as the price for my treatment. And remember, don't fight it. I don't want you two coming back here with even worse injuries."
Sheshia felt relieved and went back to her old self, the happy and calm type. Jumping up she smiles, "Let's do it! Raid it'll give you a chance to take your mind off things hopefully and give us something to do at least. Besides what is it!?" Sheshia felt excited to be hunting down information on this beast. It was her first time hunting something other then a mouse, squirrel or other small and medium sizes beings that in habited the forest. She was so excited she was about ready to bolt out the door.
Raid stood there, confused. How did I even get myself into is situation? I barely know these people! He sighed. He may be crippled, but a debt was a debt, he supposed he'd have to go along with this. However, the reaction Sheshia had to the doctor at first was mildly alarming, and he was curious about this 'secret' the doctor had mentioned. He figured he would ask her about it later.
The doctor replied to Sheshia. "We have no idea of what it is, which is why I wanted you two to check it out."
Raid yawned. So they had no information on it, and they were supposed to hunt it were they? At the every least he didn't need to take it out. If it was a simple scouting mission, even he could do it.
"Alright. Doesn't seem like you know anything else so we'll be heading on our way. We just need to know the general area it lives in, and see what kind of creature it is, yeah?" Raid didn't wait for the doctor to reply as he headed out the door.
Sheshia watches Raid walk out the door. "Thanks a lot doc. Oh and do you know where thr last kill took place and who or what it was? Oh and spare no details when it comes to the body, need to know as much information as I can get." She wanted to know everything about the killings and know thw doctor might be a good place to start since he probably examined the bodies.
"Oh of course dear. It's not very pleasant though. Well, the first man we found was cleanly cut in half, right along the spine. We couldn't figure out how it happened, but it almost looked as if a sword or something was used to cut him, it was that precise. He had numerous puncture wounds as well, probably from small fangs of some sort. Maybe a snake bite? We couldn't tell for sure. The second was half eaten, half of her abdomen was gone and her head was crushed. From the size of the bite marks on her, I'd say it's jaw is that of an animal larger than a bear. The third we found was a girl, but there was only bones left so we couldn't gather much from it. All the animals were killed like that too, with the meat peeled off of the bones. Well anyway, shouldn't you catch up with Raid, dear? He'll probably get killed if you don't catch up with him." The doctor sent a glance in Sheshia's direction.
"Oh! Sure thing! Oh and I'm gonna ask you what have away what I am when we are back." Sheshia waves and runs out the door and catches up to Raid. "So I asked the doc for information about the recent killings and one of the victims looked as if a bear ate her, someone was cleanly cut in half right along the spine apparently abd finally the last human one was only bone left." Sheshia thinks for a moment, "Oh! And one looked like a snake had bitten it. Sounds like a shifter to me. How about you?"
"You seem rather excited for hunting a man-eating monster you know. It's not like we even get to kill it..." Raid sighed. He just wanted to finish this quickly. Snake bite, one bone, clean cut.... He didn't really want to deal with a shifter if it was one. They were hard to track, and they had inhumanly keen senses so it'd be a pain to stay hidden. Well if Sheshia is this excited,it probably means she has a plan right..?

"Sure thing!" Sheshia knew if she looked like she was tracking by smell it could have been wierd and probably would give her away or atleast give a little hint away. She would have to rely on sight and little wifs of scent if there was any. She slowly worked her way through the forest. She hoped to find a trail, "Uh Raid shouldn't we visit the killing site's first to see if we could find any hints of where that thing came from?" She wanted to be prepared incase it found them instead since it was a killer after all.
While continuing to walk through the forest, Raid replied. "Actually, while you were still out cold, I overheard people talking about the thing outside. From what I can gather, all the cases were nearby this area. If you want to still visit them, I don't mind, but most of them are a few weeks old." Raid paused for a bit. "Actually, I think one of them happened four days ago maybe? If you think it'd help, we can go." Raid bit his lip slightly. He wished he'd actually bothered to talk to the passing farmers instead of sulking. He could have saved time that way.
"Probably, though since they happen mostly when no one is around. Though if thwy heard anything out of the ordinary that could help." Sheshia smiles the excitement of the hunt was growing for her. "Let's go do it." Anything from the noise or scent if there was any left even the faintest whiff would help. It should tell her where it has been or where it lives. Taking a deep breath she calmed herself down a bit and smells something odd, it smellled like a fox and bear mixed together. Since both a fox and a bear could have pasted through there she toke note of that she walks away towards the farm. "Oh and I relized something about you Raid. Your different then others but I can't put my finger on it."
"What, you mean like how I'm a half-elf? I doubt you hadn't noticed till now though." Raid replied cynically. His race was a rather sensitive subject for him. "Actually, I could say the same thing about you too you know. You're obviously not fully human." He paused when he saw her bewildered face. He added, "No normal human could've healed up as quickly as you did."
"I'd be hunted if anyone finds out what I am. Let's just say it's genetic okay? Or if you promise abd swear you won't kill me if you some how find out all will be huncky dorey." Her face went back to the calm happy phase it is almost always as. "Besides your a pretty nice guy, so race doesn't matter much."
Huh, something hated then. Raid thought he probably shouldn't pry any further. It didn't seem like she had a problem with him being half-elf either so there was no reason to continue.
When they reached the farm that had been attacked a few days ago, there was a huge uproar. In front of one of the stables, a crowd had gathered around the corpses of three people, two adults and a child, who had been mauled and eaten. Blood covered the ground, and bits and pieces of the victims were strewn about.
"Well, here's a fresh trail, yeah?"
Sheshia was shocked by the sight, "Seems like it." She starts to make her way through the crowd, looking at the ground in the process. Eventually when she reaches the corpses the kneels down looking carefully at what was left of the once living beings. Looking to her left she notices a slight trail and holes in the ground that look like claw marks. Taking a deep breath she smells the scent of moss, rock and blood. Smiling she waits for Raid to catch up. When he does she smiles, "What ever this thing is it's huge and powerful obviously. Oh and it probably lives near moss and lots of stones." She wanted to wait to ask the people questions but it seemed like the number of kills was growing slowly but surely.
Raid straightened himself after examining the corpses. He looked to Sheshia, but she was already off chasing the trail. Sighing, he began to follow her, ignoring the outcry that had emerged from behind him.
Someone grabbed his shoulder, pulling him back. "Who do you think you are, sighing after seeing my dead child, you monster!" An old lady was screaming at him through tears. "You and that girl, treating him and his family like they're nobody, how dare you!" Raid shook her off. "That's none of my business. We're just hunters chasing the thing that did this. If you still have a problem, go bother someone else." He left the crying lady and finally caught up with Sheshia.
"So you said anywhere with moss and rocks yeah?" He surveyed the surroundings. The forest was covered with moss, but he couldn't find many rocks. A lake, river, or cave...
"Alright. Do you still have the trail? I'll follow you."
Sheshia points at the claw marks and smiles. "Most people aren't good at looking for the obvious clues for things like this. Which is sad if someone is murdered by someone else." She wondered why no one even noticed the tracks or even attempted to. But if they tried they didn't really look hard enough. They could have probably used hunting dogs but they probably didn't have many now that she thought of it. "So Raid what are you going to do after this?"
"Huh? You mean after we finish our report on this?"
He scratched his head and thought for a moment. "Ehm... I guess wander around... Actually, I might head over to Essyrn to go hunt a few desert worms. Heard those are fun to kill, though it might be a bit tough with this." He pointed at his stump. "Well, not that it matters." He laughed. "What about you?"

Sheshia sighs, "Well I might stat here a bit longer then probably join the civil war in Connlaoth. The magicians need to be able to use magic without fesr there and the actions of a few doesn't mean all magic is bad." She smiles, "It'll be exciting. Oh and for your ummm arm, maybe you should get like a cup with a sword on it for it like a peg leg for a pirate or something. It might help you a bit." She looks around anf starts to walk towards a ravine.
Cup with a sword on it? pondering as to what that could possibly mean, he sighed and followed her.
The ravine itself was quite beautiful. With a small stream running down the middle of it, Raid recognized it as a place where he'd be able to find quarry easily. He half expected to discover a few deer taking refuge, drinking to their hearts' content from the stream. However, at the moment it was completely vacant from any wildlife. He called out to Sheshia. "Is this where the trail leads?" He had lost sight of it a while ago, and was hoping that she somehow still had a proper feel as to where it was.
"Yeah, it leads to here. Since this is the swcond place like this that is close enough to the town it could be the spot." Thinking for a second she pauses, "What do you think about keeping sentry in case the beast does come out. It'll be risking going deeper in this as it is." Sheshia wasn't really one for taking risks and she knew thw creature if it was in the ravine probably knew the location better then anyone else.
OOC: (Sorry it took so long I had a lot of things come up and I probably won't be on line at all next week since I'll be on a beach vacation south.)
"Yeah, that sounds fine."
Raid turned to a tree nearby the ravine, and after walking up to it, he hoisted himself up onto its branches. He hoped that the thing would appear quickly, he didn't really want to spend too long waiting on it. However, of course, one of the first lessons he learned when hunting was patience. He was prepared to even wait for months if he had to. After getting into a comfortable position in the tree, he called out to Sheshia.
"I'll be waiting here."

"Okay!" Sheshia looks around and hides behinds a couple of red berry bush peeking out tp the entance of the ravine. She wanted to make sure that what they erre certain what the creature was, but if it was in human form she was prepared to wait till the creature comes back from it's last kill so she could make sure. The townsfolk probably used the ravine at times for water if their water source went dry or became tainted. She slowed her breathing and became perfectly still.
Hours had passed. Raid looked back at the stream. A deer and a fawn were stooping their heads down to drink. It was a perfect moment for any hunter, he wanted to take out his bow and somehow shoot it. Not what I'm here for though... He steadied himself on the branch.
He turned his head back to the stream. The deer were gone. In the next instant, a giant vine shot at him. He twisted his body to avoid it and fell off the tree. Rolling to break his fall, he pushed himself into a crouching position. A second, and then a third and fourth vine shot out at him. As one coursed right next to his eyes, he realized they weren't vines.
"Fucking hell!"
He desperately tried to take cover as massive snakes began striking the earth around him.
"Sheshia! What the fuck is that??"
Sheshia stays quiet and watches the snakes carefully. "I have no idea, they could be magic since snakes usually are solitary. Besides don't snakes just digest their food whole? Theu would leave nothing behind usually." She jumps out of the bushes and takes a sharp rock in her hand, "I think we should run Raid!" Snakes gave her the chills down her spine and she wanted to get awau quickly.
Raid shouted out in agreement. They needed to get out of here as soon as possible.
One of the snakes struck his head and he landed face first on the ground. As he struggled to get up, right in front of his eyes, the snake that had hit him liquified and seemingly flew back to where it came from. He paused for a moment, confused. He scanned the ground for the rest of the snakes. All of them were gone.
What...?
Raid snapped back to attention when a massive roar reverberated throughout the forest. A... You gotta be joking... A dragon shot out of the ravine. Raid started running.
Hearing the dragon's roar Sheshia immediately bolts from her cover and runs after Raid. "Any idea on where to take cover!?" She knew theu couldn't take cover in the town or many people could die or lose their homes. Even if that was a high chance they probably would have to if it came to it or they would have to fight it which put them in extreme danger. Either way she was not gonna die.
"Hahaha like cover's going to do shit against this thing!" Raid slid down a small hill and continued running. As if running's going to do anything either... The dragon dove down at them, shooting tendrils from its mouth.
If it was something this big why the hell didn't it just destroy the entire town? Raid narrowly dodged the tendrils that coursed down on him. He shot a glance at Sheshia. She seemed to be trying just as hard to get the thing off of her trail. He looked back at the thing. He was pretty sure by now that this thing wasn't a dragon, the question was, what was it then?
Raid slipped on a patch of moss and spun out onto the ground. He turned up, expecting his imminent death, but there was nothing there.
"Huh?"
He looked around again. There was no trace of the creature. The forest looked as if the dragon had never chased them.
Raid sat up and brushed the dirt off his pants. "Well that was kinda strange, yeah?"
"Yep. I'm thinking that thing was magic based." Sheshia stopped running and trying to catch her breath. Dang it! In my other form I would be able to get over that faster! Sheshia thought to herself hating her weakened elfish form. All that she wanted to do at that point was shift back and be her normal feral and wild self. The thought made her anxious to get on with her "normal" life which probably wasn't normal to begin with. Shaking herself she went back to the situation at hand. "Should we tell the town or find out what's making those things?" She was curious what the being was who was behind the attacks and she wanted to get it done and over with. "Personally I thibk we should find out what that thing is and figure out away to let thw town take care of it."
Raid laughed.
"That's what I was thinking of doing. I don't really want to go up against something like that again, but we were hired to find its origin, so.... By the way, you said something made that thing?"
Raid hadn't really considered the possibility of the creature being artificial. But now that he thought about it, it wasn't like any normal dragon could shoot giant snakes and spit tendrils...
"Alright, let's go. But we should be prepared. We aren't fighting it, but if it finds us, things might get a bit messy."
"I'll burn that thing to a crisp if I have to, don't worry!" Starting to walk back towards the ravine carefully. "Wanna bet what the creature is?" Sheshia was up for a bit of games she also wanted to make it a bit more interesting by suggesting betting on what the creature was. It was slime based so she started to think it was a snail or something but she veird off from that idea since a giant snail wouldn't have made footprints, mot to mention it wouldn't be hard to miss a giant snail.
He thought for a bit.
"Maybe it's a shifter that can somehow disconnect parts of itself. Or maybe a spirit..."
He tried recalling everything he knew. Bite marks, signs of a very sharp blade, the removal of meat from bone, as if it had rotted off... And then the dragon, the snakes... He still couldn't understand why it hadn't straight up destroyed the village.
Raid was getting curious about its identity.
He replied once again to Sheshia.
"And you? What do you think it is?"
"I think it's just something with magic at this point. Never heard of a shifter that could seperates it's self since wouldn't that leave it vulnerable when it sticks itself back together?" She wanted to agree with the seperater shifter thing but that made no sense. "What ever it is it'll be pretty cool. Like it nust have some sort of humanity or thought if it hasn't destroyed the whole village yet."
"Nah, I don't think so. Or else why did it leave the bodies like it did? I feel like it's just viewing us as playthings or something, or it has some other reason to leave most of them alive... The village's really lucky that it doesn't view us humans as a threat or something though."
Raid skidded down a slope, and resumed walking.
"By the way, you said it might be made by something right? What made you think of that in particular?"
"Well I thought that like something could have made some voodoo type of thing or something like that. It's kinda hard to explain but that's the best example I have." She smiles as she pictures a snake string doll with needles in it. "The doll would probably look like a hedgehog snake. It's be so cute." Sliding the the slope Sheshia looks around, "What's the.plan for finding out what that thing is though? One of us could be bait or something or I send a few ummm small friends in there."
"A voodoo hedgehog snake doll...."
Raid smirked. That wouldn't be so bad.
He kicked a small pebble on the ground.
"Small friends? As in chase a few rabbits or something over to it?",
he said while grinning. This talk was a nice way to break the tension that was building up. He stopped at a uprooted tree that had already become overgrown with moss, and looked over to Sheshia.
"No actually I was thinking about sending in a mouse. The deal was if I didn't eat his family he'd help me. That was about a few months ago though." Sheshia hoped she didn't give away any hints about herself. "Let's just say I have connections around here. Besides it's hard to spot a mouse at times and they are quiet little critters. But pretty tasty if you cook it right."
Raid coughed. She seemed rather serious about her earlier comment.
"A... mouse, you say... Well, I suppose that works too."
She has a pet mouse?
He assumed her earlier statement about a deal was just a joke, or he at least hoped so. He didn't really want to work with someone who was delusional after all. He liked her, but he had no intention of trusting his back to someone who thought they could speak to rodents.
"So, the mouse. We're just going to send it in, and hopefully the thing'll attack it right?"
"Well I was planning on sending him in so he could see what it is but that could work to." Sheshia crouches down and takes out a mouse from her pocket. Putting it down the mouse looks at her and waves it's tail. Sheshia waves to the mouse and starts to make a fury of squeaks and purring sounds everyone ones in a while chirping sounds. The mouse nods and starts towards the ravine. "Now we wait." She sits down and starts playing with the grass and moss.
Oh gods, she's crazy, isn't she?
Raid clutched his head in his hands, covering his face. He inhaled, and then exhaled. Perhaps, what if, she could really talk to animals? It wasn't unheard of in the elven population, but he'd never heard of a human who could do it. Those squeaks though...
After calming himself sufficiently, he let his eyes wander without facing Sheshia, save she saw the skepticism on his face. "So... you can speak... uh... meese?"
OOC: Meese = He has no idea what to call the language of mice, so he came up with something.
Sheshia laughs, "Yes I do speak meese. And other languages too though all if them are sort of the same." She laugh, "That's the bright side of living wild is learning a few animal languages here and there. Also more freedom in a way." She starts to carefully the the grass together in with the moss. "The mouse language is called Krishna in this language. Though Meese would work to if it's easier."
Krishna, huh?
Since she had a pretty specific name for it, it seemed a bit more believable.
"So, what did you tell the mouse exactly in... Krishna, was it? Oh, but more importantly, can you see it right now? I seem to have lost sight of it."
Raid squinted his eyes for any signs of the mouse. He had stayed wiith it for quite some time until it went behind a tree, and dissapeared. Raid sighed. He supposed it was easier said than done to keep a visual on a mouse in a forest.
"I can hear it. And I told it to go into the cave thing and find out what what the creature is and to report back. It's that simple, if he dies we know it's alert and has high senses. You wouldn't think that I would choose a animal that sticks out like a squirrel hopefully. They are to loud mice on the other hand are quieter and harder to sport because thwy are so quick." Sheshia laughs slightly and keeps an eye out for the mouse.
"I... see..."
He tacked incredible hearing onto the growing list of amazing abilities Sheshia seemed to have.
He closed his eyes and listened, but all he could hear was the rustling of leaves. As a half-elf, he had confidence in his hearing, but if Sheshia could really hear the mouse, he couldn't even hold a candle to her.
Raid sat down, deciding to sit and wait for Sheshia to give an update on the situation.
After a few minutes of silence Sheshia smiles, "It says that it's asleep but it can sort of make out its shape which is hard to explain but apparently it's a person kneeling on the ground whispering to it's self. It's wrapped in something like cloth but he wants to make sure." Sighing, "Sounds like a shifter to me but can't be sure. Witch probably or just a demon spiritualist. What ever it is it probably isn't friendly."
Raid paused for a moment.
"Well, not like we need to fight it or anything. Let's just get a confirmation that it's the dragon snake thing, or that it made the dragon."
Raid moved forward tentatively, and, as if changing his mind, turned around back to Sheshia.
"Should I just try to shoot them? I can't imagine they're not related to the dragon. Might be the quickest way to find out what's going on."
Sheshia thought for a moment, "Go ahead, I'll be under a rock if it decided to attack when you fire the arrow." She starts to move towards the opening of the cave and hides under one of the rocks underneath it. If that thing does attack it won't suspect my fire, thinking very quickly as she gets her hands into position for some serious purple fire magic.
Raid slowly inched forward towards the mouth of the cave. The cave itself was on the larger side, with stalactites hanging down, covering the ceiling.
Walking in, after a few minutes Raid could vaguely make out the shape of a person. Any remaining doubt he had about Sheshia's strange abilities disappeared. Raid sighed. Not for the first time, he wondered who she was.
He looked back at the person in the cave.
Better not be some hermit who just happened to be living here...
From a distance, Raid sat down, stringing an arrow onto the bow. Using his knees to hold the bow in position, he pulled back with his good arm. Steadying his breathing, he zeroed in on the target's head.
He exhaled. The arrow flew, spearing through the head of the silhouette.
The silhouette crumbled apart. What? Raid stared blankly. However, he soon realized what had happened when he felt tremors. Oh shi- Raid looked back. Of course... The exit was caving in. Raid began running, dodging the falling rocks.
When he finally made it out of the cave, he let out a sigh of relief. Raid turned over to where Sheshia was hiding.
"Well, at least we know it's-"
Right as Raid began talking, a massive snake erupted out of the rocks covering the entrance. He turned around in surprise as it latched onto his leg, dragging him back into the mountain of rocks. Raid and the creature disappeared into the cave, leaving only a small opening that lead into the cave.
Running out from the rocks Sheshia hid under and sees the rocks that caved in. She was sort of panicking. Should I save him or just and risk being hunted or leave him and possibly save my hide. Sheshia thought for a moment, Raid did get her out of trouble once not to mention get hurt in the process. Looking towards the small hole in the rubble she thinks for second. That hole surely was to small for her to squeeze theough. Making her decision she shifts into her cat form and walks up to the hole and squeezes through leaving her original clothes behind.
After letting her eye sight ajust for a second Sheshia starts to taste the air and sniff the ground picking up Raid scent. Immediately she atarts to follow the scent and goes down the cave thinking of spells to use along the way.
"Agh..!" When Raid finally opened his eyes, he was back at where he had seen the silhouette earlier. The snake was still yanking him along, but he had gotten through the pile of rubble. He was bleeding heavily from his head, and his clothes were ripped in multiple places after being dragged through all the rocks. Grimacing, he quickly activated his ice magic, freezing the snake head, and he proceeded to break it off of himself.
Raid pulled himself up, and felt the cuts on his head. None seemed to be deep, so he decided to ignore them.
"..."
He bent his spine backwards, letting out a satisfying crack. Brushing the blood out of his eyes, he pulled out a knife from his belt, spun it a few times around his finger, and caught it, gripping it tightly. He was rather annoyed, to say the least. Raid hadn't intended to hunt the dragon thing originally, but it wasn't like he'd just get beaten up and do nothing about it. He cut off a bit of his cloak, and wrapped it around his leg after freezing the wound.
Holding onto the side of the cave wall, he moved forward in the dark.
The scent of blood hits Sheshia. She hisses and continues forward brushing her whiskers against the wall to help aid her in "seeing" her surroundings. Suddenly she hears the ssounds of foot steps and decides to investigate though deep down she wanted to hide. Crouching down into a crawl position she silently creeps up to Raid. When she is close enough she thinks for a second. Should I talk or stay quiet and just meow? Taking a deep breath, "Raid that's you right?" Hopping with all her being that she wouldn't get killed or hunted.
Raid jumped away from the wall with his knife outstretched in front of him. Something had called out from behind him. It had the familiar accent, almost like Sheshia's, but the voice sounded different.
"May I ask who you are, and how you know me?"
While keeping the knife in front of him, Raid called out calmly into the darkness.
While waiting for an answer, Raid silently calculated what his next course of action should be.
I can't risk it here. The chances of it being an enemy is too high, regardless of it knowing my name...
He croutched down, and prepared himself to lunge at the creature. Focusing in on his hearing, he tried to pinpoint exactly where the creature was that had spoken.
"It's me, Sheshia. For the gods sake can you please stealth that knife. You don't have to run around waving it okay? The next thing I need is to loose my ears." Sheshia backs up a bit wanting to bat the knife out of Raids hands. Deciding to give them a bit of light she stands on her hind legs and a ball of fire forms between her two front paws. "That's better right?" She plays around with the fire while waiting for Raids reaction while purring to herself.
Raid had to stomp down on the ground to stop himself from impaling Sheshia. He was relieved it wasn't an enemy, but he had no idea how she had gotten here.
However, as a ball of purple fire appeared in front of him, he stood confused.
That's.... a cat...? Wait, no. I already know she has all types of crazy stuff up her sleeve by now. She probably can control animals or something...
He calmed himself down.
"If you had such a useful power, why didn't ya just use it earlier to take control of a bat or something. We could have searched the cave easier..."
He let out a small laugh, but it was quickly drowned out by a roar.
"Seems like talking'll have to wait. Get ready, we're going to have to kill this thing!"
Giving up on the subject due to the threat of a dragon hunting them down and attacking them with a sigh Sheshia retracts her claws and flufgs out her tail as the tip of it lights on fire and fire came from her paw pads. "Any suggestion on how to take that thing out or do we just wing it and head for the neck and head?"
"The thing's made out of some slime...!"
Raid dodged the maw of the dragon as it swept horizontally at him. As he backed up, his knife began to glow a pale blue color.
"From what I can tell, cutting the neck won't do anything. I can freeze it, but... also, I don't really know how good you are as a cat. Just at least keep your fire up. We're dead if we can't -"
As another swipe was attempted at Raid, he swiftly lobbed off the hand of the dragon with the knife. The hand fell off, frozen solid.
"Can you fight as a cat?"
Raid asked Sheshia without turning to her.
"Of course I can! Don't worry about it. The only problem is fire hates moisture and I can only hold it for so long okay?" Sheshia runs up behind the dragon and jumps onto it's back digging her claws into the skin(?) Of the dragon. "Ewww. This is gross how could anything live like this!?" Increasing the temperature and strength of her fire vapor rushes off of it.
Raid cut apart the snakes that tried to circle behind him.
Backing up, he observed the dragon. It was starting to change shape.
"Sheshia, I'd get away from there."
The dragon roared, the noise reverberating through the cave.
Raid clutched his ears. When he looked up, the creature was already in the process of engulfing him. Oh... not good...
Jumping off the dragon Sheshia bites raids free arm and tries to pull him out of the slime. "You might have to freeze it , I'll thaw you out." Her ears were stipl ringing from the roar so she couldn't tell how loud she was talking or if she was even speaking at all.
Raid winced as Sheshia bit his arm to pull him out.
"Gimme a sec"
He pulled his arm away, and while mumbling something under his breath, he stabbed his hand into the slime. Frost spread all over it, and it hardened.
Raid breathed out a sigh of relief. The slime had gotten his leg, but at least it wouldn't be able to attack them anymore.
He took the butt of his knife and mashed it against his incased leg, trying to break off the frozen slime. After three hard strikes, the ice began to crack, and after the fourth, it shattered.
A quick glance revealed that his leg wasn't exactly in great shape. The clothes on it was dissolved off, and much of the skin on his leg had been corroded away by the slime. To make it worse, the ice shards from earlier were embedded into him as well. The only consolation was that it was the leg that had already been injured.
Ripping off the ice shards that were fixed in place, he looked over to Sheshia.
"Can you heal this? It's not too deep."
He looked back at the frozen slime.
"Also, don't you feel it's a bit small compared to last time?"
Taking and glance at the slime, "Yeah but you've been freezing it and shattering it how many times now? Sit down, this might hurt or sting a bit since the skin will be regrowing." Examining Raids leg Sheshia thinks for a moment. "By the way have you ever heard of magic that could take control of an ordinary animal and allow them to use magic? Since I certainty didn't." She starts to mumble in multiple versus of hissing sounds, chirps and meows.
Raid cocked his head to the side.
"Hm? I haven't really, but it's like a familiar right? I'm just impressed you made it through all the rubble. I would've said that cat's too large to fit through."
He looked at Sheshia who seemed rather annoyed, as the cave slowly grew darker and darker again. The purple fire was flickering, almost as if it would go out at any moment.
Raid looked up at the ceiling. They had killed the slime, but there was definitely someone behind it all. The trap earlier had confirmed that as a fact.
"Think Raid your half elf right? Have you ever heard of any magic like that? And no I am not a familiar. Im me for goodness sake. Ask me a question only I would know go ahead, I dare you." Sheshia really wanted to scratch his leg open again but she refrained from doing that. "Sheesh this is tiring." Quickly finishing up the spells she licks her paws and ends the spell and increases the size of the flames a bit yawning. "Next time you get hurt I'd probably only beable to heal it a bit."
"..."
Raid couldn't say confidently that he knew exactly what she was getting at. Maybe she was suggesting she was a shifter of some sort, but he couldn't really be certain.
"Well whatever, it doesn't really matter. You can fight after all. Anyways, we're done with our job. You can head back if you want, but I'm going to go a bit deeper in. I want to check up on something. It might get a bit... messy depending on what I find there, so..."
"Heck no! You are not going down there a lone. What if that thing wasn't a lone and there are more then one. Use that brain of yours or are those cuts to deep they are messing with your mind." Sighing, "Besides you have friends who are probably waiting for you man. I'm going with you, your blind as a bat here also."
"Alright."
Raid did not bother to say anything else. In reality, he was relieved. If there was one thing Sheshia said that was true, it was that he was completely blind here.
Turning away, he reached for a pouch tied around his waist.
"If we come across anymore of those slimes, I can deal with them."
He grabbed a few throwing knives from the pouch, and wrapped string around them.
"Okay, I'll be your back up in case something happens." Smiling she walns down the cavern, "By the way Raid where did you get those ice things or is that just magic?" Sheshia asks without looking back and keeping her ears up and swerving around along with tasting the air. "It's an interesting thing yiur able to do with those. Not to mention helpful obviously."
"Hm? Ice things? Like what?"
Raid continued to follow behind Sheshia, as he looked around his surroundings.
"If it's about my knife, it's just got ice magic laced into it. It's the same for these too."
Raid twirled the throwing knives around in a circle using the string. Good thing too, I used way too much magic freezing that slime at the end...
"What about you? What's the deal with the cat? You said it wasn't a familiar, so you're using shapeshifting magic?"
Finally we are getting somewhere, Sheshia thinks, "I was born a shifter. Father demon mother shifter. That's why my fire is purple." Pausing for a second, "Is it okay if I meet your group beforr I head off after this, just to say hi and all that." Stopping for a second ti wave her tail cery quickly making the fire grow bigger.
"O..oh... I see...."
Wasn't expecting that...
Raid hadn't even taken into consideration that her abilities were due to her species. But half demon... meh, like I'm in the position to say anything.
"Ah, about the group from earlier, I don't know where they are. I usually hunt alone, so they're not really... affiliated..? Never mind, just think of our relation as a partnership to rake in more gold from hunting. If you really want to meet em though, I suppose I could search."
Raid paused for a moment as they reached a large cavern. A small trickle of light was bleeding through a hole in the ceiling. As he walked in, he began hearing the sloshing of water underfoot.
"Yaaaay.... water" grumbling Sheshia walks into the water hissing, "Water sucks! Now I'm gonna have to be careful not to put my tail in the water." Flattening her ears Sheshia starts thinking about what she should do if the water douses her tail. "Raid I can't swim at all so if it gets too deep ether I stay back or you help." Sheshia looks into the water which was full of mist and small aquatic animals. Should have been born an otter, best of both worlds thought to herself hoping one day she'd be able to find a waterproofing spell and beable to thin out her fur a bit. Shaking her paws for momentary relief from the wetness.
"Why don't you just turn back to a human for a bit, it'd be easier for you right?"
Raid stepped around a dead fish. The tiny fish the had surrounded it quickly fled from the corpse. Raid looked a bit ahead.
"Actually, you'll probably be fine either way. It doesn't seem too deep."
Raid continued to stride through the water, while his eyes wandered all around the ceiling and into the water. It was common knowledge to anyone who had hunted humans before. When on the hunt, never let your guard down.
He sighed. Sheshia's flame, combined with the light that was coming from the surface allowed him to see further than before, but it wasn't nearly enough...
"I can't, left my clothes behind. They would have been a pain to drag around here. I maybe a shifter but I still have some dignity." Smiling and laughing slightly Sheshias ears perk up. "Thiugh a fish would be nice glancing at the dead fish Sheshia made a mental note to get it if possible when making there way back. Suddenly Sheshia freezes. "Raid stop walking please." Narrowing her eyes so she could make out what was ahead of them with a faint growl.
Raid stopped, and strained his eyes for any sign of movement. What was it that Sheshia saw? A thin layer of ice spread across the surface of the water around Raid's legs as he released his magic unintentionally. Raid tensed up, and breathed in deeply. He saw a glimmer of movement, near the surface of the water. A fish? ...
"I hear something." Slowly but surely Sheshia starts to walk forward swerving her ears all around. Crouching as low as she could and holding her tail still she pounces onto the shimmer in the water and lunges biting it but only getting water which tasted foul spitting it out and rubbing her paws on her muzzle to get rid of the rest of the foul tasting liquid. "That's digusting! But there is something up a head that probably left that stuff." She was now uncomfortably soaked which made it hard dor her to move freely.
Raid could see her discontent showing all over her face. He sighed, releasing his pent up breath.
"You ok?"
He handed her his tattered coat.
"Don't really know if you can wipe your face with it, since you have paws and all, but it's worth a try right?"
After giving it to her, he scanned the area she said the creature had gone to. Sheshia's fire had become very dim, and it was becoming harder to see.
"Thanks." Using her paws she attempts to use the tatteres coat to wipe off her muzzle as best as she could. "What ever that foul this was isn't not the best things to kill or even touch. It's utterly is a slime covered thing!" After finishing up wiping her face off she uses a bit if her fire to dry it off a bit, "Want this back Raid?"
He looked at the slime covered coat.
"Ah... no, I'm fine... It's already ripped up anyway. Let's get going."
Raid stepped forward through the ooze, pulling his shirt sleeve up with his mouth.
"Let's be on the alert for now. It should still be lingering around here."
"Okay, it was a pretty nice coat though." Smelling the air Sheshia walks forward carefully until a latgw cavern opens up. "So cool." Looking around she jumps onto a rock and shakes herself free from moisture splattering the water a bits of slime everywhere. When she stops she looks like a procupine the only down side was that her fire went out. Her eyes glimmered in the dark but she was only able to make out movement and shapes. "Sorry Raid."
"..."
Raid tried to brush off the slime that had splashed all over him, but it was rather difficult, especially considering he couldn't see anything.
At the very least I got it out of my eyes...
He sighed, waiting for her light. The person he was hunting should have shown his face by now, thought Raid. Perhaps the person was just being extraordinarily cautious.
"So who wants to be the bait? It's obvious by now that that person is just gonna be a needle in a haystack. What a coward. If he can't stop cowarding like a rabbit I'll have to hunt him like one." Smiling Sheshia digs her claws into the rock then she whispers, "What if we start trying to anger him? He'd probably give up his position and we'd be able to get him." The only problem was that the person probably knew the the cave extremely wrong and could use it to their advantage not only that but who knew what else he or she could do.
Raid looked at Sheshia, surprised.
"How did you...?" He paused for a moment. "Was it that obvious I was hunting the guy behind this?"
He sighed, and ran his fingers through his hair, covering his face in the process. Ah dammit. I don't care anymore.
"I was planning to just flush em out. I still don't know if they can tell where we are, or if they can even observe us at all so..."
Raid scratched his head and turned his head to her direction, his eyes gleaming red even in the darkness.
"I'm giving you a heads up, I'm planning to kill em immediately. They've pissed me off too much at this point. If you're against killing people, you can head back."
Judging from her earlier statements, he assumed she wouldn't care, but he figured he should at least mention it.
"I'm perfectly fine with that. It's natural so it's fine. That was just a suggestion by the way I knew you were hunting him just by the way you acted." Smiling she jumps off the rock, "Besides wants the point of a hunt without challenge, it'll give me a bite to eat also." Walking into the carvern she freezes and turn towards a large platform with a mound moving up and down and the slight sound of breathing. Speak of the devil Taking a deep breath she she gets ready to pounce and bite the person's neck.
Is she suggesting cannibalism? he almost wondered aloud.
Raid saw as Sheshia noticed a moving pile of earth. The cracks in the walls provided just enough light for him to see. Enough to also see the hundreds of ripples that began shaking the surface of a puddle.
"Fucking..!" Drawing his knife, Raid sprinted to Sheshia and kicked her away as hard as he could. Immediately the water shot up around him, enveloping him completely. Before he could properly process what was going on, the whole cavern erupted all around them, becoming a tidal wave surging towards Sheshia.
"SHIT!" The pain in her side was one thing but the on coking tidal wave was another thing entirely. Looking around frantically she see one of stalagmites with a V shape in the middle of it. Trying her best to ignore the pain she bunches up her muscles and spring onto it slipping on it. The tidle wave almost washes her off of it but she swallows lots of the water in the process and coughs it up. The cold water wasn't the best but mow that she was soaked her fire a abilities would have little use. Panting slightly as she recovers from the initial shock of the impact she starts to look for what ever was responsible and trying to find any signs of Raid which the darkness and the water barely helped with.
Raid struggled desperately as the water seemed to drag him deeper and deeper into a bottomless abyss that had opened up underneath him.
What... the hell.... is going on..?
He choked as the water rushed into his mouth, forcing the last bit of air out of his lungs.
A sinkhole....? Raid was quickly losing consciousness.
Like hell I'm going to die here!
Clenching his teeth, he mustered his remaining strength to freeze the entire place. His knife shone blue once again, and fractured into dust as the water froze over. Along with the water, his body was stuck suspended, trapped under the layers of ice.
Seeing the water freeze Sheshia jumps off of the stalagmite she was using as cover. Thankfully she was used to the ice so she had absolutely no problem with balancing on it. Shiveering she looks into the ice and could not see the bottom of the water. Sighing she lights her tail and fire and sits down with it curled around her paws trying to get warm and waiting for what's coming next. I need to know who is doing this and figure out how to get him without much trouble.Then somehow get Raid out of there. Thinking to herself she takes a deep breath and concentrates on the surrounding area tslking to herself that she is the hunter stalking her prey.

While Sheshia sat on the ground, an outline of light shone through the wall of the cave. It quickly expanded into the shape of a rectangle, or more specifically, the shape of a door.
Opening the door carved into the side of the cavern, the girl stepped out. Her brown hair fluttered slightly as she glanced over the surroundings. She crouched down, and proded at the ice with her fingernail.
"Well. This was kind of unexpected."
She turned around, facing the door.
"Can you take care of this thing please?"
The girl pointed at Sheshia, and from the door, a large and well built, but unarmed man stepped out.
Seeing the two people Sheshia stands up and growls flattening her ears, was she just called a thing? That aggravated Sheshia she was usually called a cat or something else she couldn't remember. She needed to get to the girl since she was the root of the problem but that large man was gonna be the main problem. Lowering her head she starts to walk towarss him ready to attack at any given moment. The only disadvantage she had was size and probably strength but she had speed and agility which made her have to get to the neck and finish things from there. Baring her fangs she lunges and sinks her teeth into the man's arm digging her claws into his body.
The man, completely unfazed, smashed his fist into Sheshia, blowing her back. There were no marks left of her assault at all, not even a single tear in his clothes. Or perhaps it was more specific to say that all the tears were somehow erased, as if they never existed.
Lenac sat down with an amused smile on her face. She rested her head on one elbow and continued to monitor the situation. She knew the man couldn't move as fluidly in the cold, but she presumed it was still enough to beat the creature that had invaded her post.
It was, after all, one of her strongest creations.
"Ouch." Shaking her head she gets up, "Fire time it seems like it." Whispering and gets ready her strongest spell. Fire erupts into a demonic hectogram and starts to whisper in a lurry of growls and words. Finishing up the spell the fire erupts into the surrounding area making the stalagmites start to fall all around them that was if the inital vladt haven't done enough damage or atleast shocked them.
The spell took out more energy then Sheshia had expected it to. The having to use her fire to light the way and healing Raids leg left her with less energy then she had thought originally. She stood there gasping for breath and secretly hoping her last amount of energy would be enough to get her out alive. After the spell was going to be no more magic for a few hours
"...I guess even a rat will fight back when backed in a corner."
She was irritated at how much of a hassle these intruders were proving to be.
Lenac had somehow mitigated the blast after ducking behind a rock to shield herself. She poked her head out, and looked around. Her slime had almost completely disintegrated, and all the ice that had melted around her had already become steam.
She sighed, and shook her head. The fight was going to be completely one-sided at this rate.
I can't allow this creature to get into my workstation though... guess I'll have to use that then.... But how to get by that without it killing me...
Time to play the part of the victim?
She called out to the beast.
"I believe you understand what I am saying, correct? May I ask why you chose to attack this cave? It's my home, and I would prefer if you'd leave. If you promise me you will, I can help your friend get out as well."
"Yeah right lady! That ship has saaaailed long ago when your slime dragon and snake attacked us. Oh and by the way how can I trust you anyways? Oh and the towns people have been getting killed. Hmmmm tracks point it towards you." Hissing she lashes her tail and runs at the girl fire stream from her mouth.

Lenac dove to the side, scraping her arms and legs in the process. She winced. She pulled herself upright, and crouched slightly, poised to jump again if needed be.
"Then let me ask you, how do you hope to get your friend out? He'll die soon if left under there you know."
He's probably dead anyway though.
"You can't get rid of the 30 meters of ice in time, especially after you used that magic. Don't think I didn't notice, I don't know if you can even muster a candle flame now."
Then again, that fire from its mouth seems to be more than just a candle flame...
"Also... I could've killed you when you first came into the forest, but I didn't. Doesn't that make me a bit more trustworthy..? Can't we talk it out?"
"Let's see here, yeah no. I've been in that forest for yesrs for the winter in the mountains. Oh and don't call me a rat. I have more secrets the you know girl. Now just hold still so I can end this please. Or run like the rabbit you are." The girl certainly was younger then her which worked to her advantage. Her prey didn't have thw experience to out run the hunter. "Besides I can use my blood or eat you or your charred friend." Sheshia probably would need to use her blood for energy boost. Hissing she lunges again even faster with her claws extended slicing the girl's leg.
Ah... did I say that outloud...? Well whatever, doesn't matter now. If it's that hellbent on fighting, there's nothing I can do.
She sidestepped the beast and drew the dagger she had kept concealed in her sleeve. Digging the dagger into the side of the beast, she kicked off of it, landing a few meters between the creature and the door.
"Too bad, you seem to have underestimated me."
Even as she said that, Lenac understood that she was going to die at this rate. She may have been able to deal a blow on the creature, but it wasn't deep enough to incapacitate it. And the thing had grazed her leg. She glanced over to the door.
...Ten steps away... this'll be tough...
As a noble of Darken Vei, she couldn't very well give up here.

Lenac clenched her teeth. She hadn't expected it to become this much of a pain when she accepted this assignment.
The werecat smiles, this was gonna be goood. Licking her wound on her side. Sheshia then decides to put out her fire. If that girl is like Raid she'd jave trouble seeing but I'd be perfectly fine Wmiling she crouxhes down and slowly stalks her way to the side of the girl holding her tail still and staying completely alert for any change of the girl's movement. When she was about two meters away from the girl she sprints and clamps down on her arm and digs her claws into the girl's leg and torso.
I see it's not a complete idiot, erasing its light...
She could still see somewhat from the light coming through the door, but she certainly lost a large advantage.
You aren't the only one with something though...
Lenac closed her eyes to concentrate, and began whispering.
In the next second, the creature had sprung at her, tearing apart Lenac's limbs. Or so it seemed.
Damn, that was too close!
She wasn't overly proficient in illusion magic, but she seemed to be able to cast it at the last second, throwing off the beast's sense of perception. She gripped her dagger, and sprinted towards the door ignoring the pain in her leg.
It'll recover and maul me in the next few seconds. I need to think!
Lenac bit back the panic that was rising up through her throat, and started to mumble again, readying her dagger.
Hissing and getting aggregated even more she recovers for a second and see girl running for the door. She sprints towards the girl the smell of fear drived her hunting instinct even more. When she was close enough she drives her paw into the girl's side with as much force as her hody would allow at that speed with her claws fully extended while she grabs for the back of her neck.
Lenac flew back as she had the air knocked out of her. She landed on the ice, her head landing with a crack on its hard surface. She struggled to get up as blood coated her eyes, making everything crimson. Her hands shaking, she looked around for her dagger. It was no where near her, and her heart fell.
Hearing a growl, she shifted her attention to the beast, howling in anger, with something stuck through its paw.
A..Ah... that's where it is... heh...
She tried to get up, but her hands crumpled and she slammed down again onto the floor.
Dammit... I'm so close....
She reached her hand out, trembling violently, trying to crawl towards the door. Her head was pounding, but everything was going black.

Holly shit that hurts like hell! She grabs the knife between her teeth and yanks it out holding her paw close to her chest. That girl was like a slippery fish or whatever animal. Knowing that Raid would have wanted to finish her off and she wasn't in any mood to finish her she drags the girl to a stalagemite and grabs a huge hunk of ice and melts it around the girls arms abd legs as it they were a chain. "I don't know if you can hear me but if you try to het away I will burn your leg to a crisp okay?" Walking away from the girl she sits down and thinks about how she is gonna thaw Raid out. Smiling she stands on her three healthy paws and starts whispering and the ice begins to melt rapidly. "If I can't use fire might as well make it hot in here," She whispers and continues thawing the ice.
When Lenac woke up, the other intruder was lying on the ground, on top of a small puddle, completely drenched. He was coughing repeatedly, puking up slime. Next to him was the beast, looking satisfied. Her head was still spinning, but she knew one thing.
Her mouth curled up slightly into a weak smile. It's my victory...

Raid pulled himself up, spewing out chunks of ice and water from his mouth. He coughed, and finished emptying the contents of his stomach. He reached out his arm and steadied himself on a stalagmite.
"You okay Raid?" Sheshia was very happy to have been able to melt the ice and she felt accomplished. Her paw dripped blood into the water and a bit of blood seeped from the wound on her side. Trembling with pain and cold she looked extremely tired and her tail drooped a lot not as lively as it usually is.
"Yeah, I'm fine. How about you? You need me to bandage your hand? It seems like a lot happened."
He let out a small laugh.
"From the looks of it, you took care of the-" He stopped mid-sentence when he saw a girl slumped in a corner. Their eyes met.

When the man's eyes met Lenac, she knew she had to make her move immediately.
She raised her hands and commanded a group of the slimes that had been thawed by the beast to attack the two, while sending another group of slimes to destroy her workstation.

Raid sunk his thumb and index fingers into the girl's eyes, and grabbed ahold of her head. He mashed it against the stalagmite multiple times until he felt the skull finally cave in.
He glanced back at the slimes. They splashed down onto the ground, no longer able to resist the pull of gravity.
He wiped the blood off of his hand.
"Phew. Well that's been taken care of."
"Yep, I decided to.leave her for you since you called dibs on finishing her. And my bandaging my paw won't help with the damage to the tendons in it. It's a limp blood cloth now." Laughing slightly she walks towards the girls body, "You've done a number on her dude. I mean I would've let her go slower though since she was a pain in the neck. Now who wants to get out of this freezing cave and get dry and warm." She pauses and lools at what was once the slimes.
"I didn't want to take chances, would've been a pain to deal with the slimes after all. But seriously, it was a little girl that did all this? Did she say why, or anything like that?"
Raid was a bit puzzled. He had expected it to be some crazy old man, not some girl. He tried to get the blood out of his nails, but it was rather hard to get any progress.
Raid stretched out his arm, and yawned. He was hungry, and still felt a bit nauseous.
"Well, let's get out of..."
He paused as he saw the source of the light that was letting him see.
"Is that a door? I'm going to check it out real quick."
"Well she did say she could've killed me when I came to the forest but I was there a few years before she got there but other then that I have no idea since I didn't trust what she wad saying." Hobbling into the doorway she looks around, "This turned out to be more interesting then I thought though. I should become a bounty hunter one day." Laughing she scrtaches her ear.
"It's not all that great, actually. People set up traps, they cover their traces..."
He picked up a soggy sheet of paper from the desk with two fingers. All the words were muddled and were no longer legible.
"It looks like she was making and testing these slimes, but I can't really tell why..."
He looked around a bit more, and swiped a few phials from a bench. After examining the ceiling, he called over to Sheshia.
"Figures, there's an escape hatch here." He removed the board blocking it, and pushed it open. Sunlight rushed in to the small room.
"Sunlight! Yees!" Shw runs up to the escape hatch and jumps through it. "It feels sooo good out jere!" She yells down. To be honest Sheshia haded caves since they reminded her to much of home and she hated jow cramped they were. Poking jer head down, "You sir need a new coat unfortunately." She was so much more happier looking and more cheerful even though her paw went numb and she was to the point of collapse seeing the sunlight made her hopes return that she would be able to recover more quickly.
Raid pulled himself out of the hatch.
"And you need clothes. Just in general. Let's head back to the entrance of the cave, you left it there right?
He turned his body, facing to where he assumed the entrance was.
"True." Even though she was in her cat form mostly other then a few times she would rsther have her clothes back since they took her so long to make or aka steal. "Where do you think we are?" Sheshia asks Raid looking around. Hopefully they were not to far away. Who knew how large anf long that cave was not to mention how far they have gone.
"Honestly, I have no idea..."
Raid rubbed one of his eyes. His eyesight hadn't quite returned, and it was still tough to keep both eyes open in the light.
"I think it might've been in that direction?"
He pointed towards a large tree off in the distance.
Raid sighed.
He hated navigating his way across land. Even as a hunter, he never got better at it, and frequently became lost. He was almost tempted to go back through the cave, but then recalled that he probably wouldn't be able to get through the rubble in the entrance.
"Guess we'll have to walk around until we find tgr entrance to that slimr hole then." Sighing Sheshia looks around for anything that could help tell her where they were but ended up with nothing. "We could try to find out what time it is by waiting a few and seeing where the sun is."
"Time?"
He thought for a second.
It was getting dark when we went into the cave and... Wait, how long were we stuck in there?
"Dammit, were we in there for the entire night?"
He shook his head. No wonder he felt tired.
"So, what exactly did you want to do with the time?"
He looked at Sheshia inquisitively.
"Well if it's light out then the sun should be going west right? So I was thinking if we can pinpoint west and east and we figure out which direction the town is we would be able to get the general direction of where we need to head off to instead of runnning around like headless chickens." Giggling at the thought of a headless chicken she licks her wounded paw.
Raid frowned slightly.
"Shouldn't we hurry, so we can treat your hand though? Also, do you know which direction we are relative to the village? We could be to the east or west of the village as far as I know..."
"It's probably west." Thinking for a quick second she nods. "Probably west." She really wanted to sleep. "Or we can get some rest for the rest of the day it won't be much good if we are slower then usually since we have no idea where we are and both of us are about to faint from exhaustion which means teice as susceptible to hungry beasts."
"Alright. I'm heading back into the cave, or at least that room we were in. Nothing'll attack us there at least. You should probably go in there to rest too, cuz I don't really want to stand watch while the other sleeps..."
Blinking his eyes a few more times and rubbing them, he reopened the hatch and headed back inside.
"Who in the world does want to keep watch." Hopping back into the hatch Sheshia yawns and stretches and jumps onto the table. "The only problem in here is that it's wet. Though better then nothing I suppose. Where you gonna rest up Raid?" She lays down and licks her paw and side some trying to keep them from getting infected. When she finishes it she curls up and looks at the hatch.
"Well that girl stayed here right? There's bound to be a bed somewhere here..."
He rummaged through the pile of trash that was thrown all over the room. After a few minutes of searching, he came up empty handed.
"...or not."
Raid sighed, and lay down on the ground, using his arm as a pillow.
"Eh, its better than having to sleep while on the alert."
Sheshia felt bad for Raid but said nothing. "Okay, but just make sure ypu at least don't freeze or get sick.I don't want to attempt to carry a sick person back." At that she examines her paw one last time and curls up with her tail over her muzzle. Gasping she jumps up and jumps off the table and starts to try to break off it's legs, "You know the leading cause of infection right?"
"Leaving wounds unattended to. Are you sure you don't need me to bandage it? I don't really want to lug you around either."
Raid looked on as Sheshia seemed to pace around on the table restlessly.
"Well, anyway, just worry about yourself. I'm used to sleeping in worse places, and I'm not one to get cold easily."
"My paw would be fine. I've had worse injuries. But if you really want to sleep on the floor go ahead." Sheshia stops pacing and lays down and curls up. "If anything comes here I'll let you know kay?" She closes her eyes and falls alseep almost instantly.
OOC: I can't believe we're technically only on day 3 o.o
Raid sighed, and rolled around on the ground. Excluding the fact that it was covered in ooze, it wasn't actually all that uncomfortable. He stared up at the ceiling.
Damn, these gotta be the weirdest three days of my life...
He looked at Sheshia. She was peacefully asleep. Guess I should sleep too.
He closed his eyes.

Sheshia wakes with a startled meow, she then settles down after a minute remembering the event's. Yesterday wasnt a dream it seems She thinks to herself sighing. Her paw had atleast gained back it's feeling but the paw hurt like hell.She looks at Raid who was still asleep. Yawning she shakes herself awake and starts to lick her paw forcing herself to ignore the pain. When she couldn't take the pain any more she stops and rests her paw on her chest and.moves on to her flank. She didn't want to wake Raid since he was pretty beat up the other day.
Raid turned onto his side when he heard the meow, but didn't quite stir. He grumbled a few words of complaint, and rolled back onto his other shoulder.
His breathing soon returned to its systematic, normal self.
Wow he's a grumbler in his sleep Sheshia thinks and finishes up her grooming then goes to the hatch and pokes her head out of it. The light blinded her for a quick second which she quickly overcomes. Hearing the birds chirp and looking up through the trees she notices that the sun was almost to it's mid morning point. Smiling she jumps back into the hatch and scratches out a messege saying, "Webt exploring and hunting be back soon." At that shr crawls out of the hatch and starts her misson for finding out their location.
Panting, running, but he couldn't get far enough... The brush, like blades cutting into his legs, like a swamp slowing him down. He jumped through a thicket, desperately trying to escape his pursuers. They were mad dogs, hounding him down, their flaming red torches in their hands waving as they called out for blood. I need to head back, if I don't head back, if I don't... He heard an ear-piercing wail in the distance, and the cries of men. -!!!- He whirled around, suddenly face to face with a grizzly farmer brandishing a pitchfork. Raid screamed out loud as his stomach was pierced, the four prongs burning into him. Tears in his eyes, he looked up at the man just in time, seeing a bolt of ice cleave the head of the man cleanly off. He heard a familiar voice, shouting at him. However, before he could process anything, many more men quickly began to surround him.
"Gah!"
Raid sat up suddenly, hitting his head hard on a cabinet. He tried to steady himself with his arm, but proceeded to crash into the ground, his hand slipping on the ice that had formed underneath him.
He clutched his head. Gods... shit, Sheshia..! He turned around quickly, but saw she was gone. He sighed in relief. He didn't want anyone to see that embarrassing fiasco.
He sat up, still holding his head with his one hand. Looking around, he quickly spotted her message carved into the hatch. After reading it, Raid sighed again, and hoisted himself up through the hatch.
Sheshia walks out of the undergrowth with a few rabbits in her mouth, "Heres breakfast. I already had a mouse." She mumbles through the fluff. Looking st Raid she laughs, "Looks like you've seen a ghost. You had trouble sleeping yesterday?" She puts down the rabbits and starts to burn away their fur with fire. "Oh and we are a bit if a distance from the ravinr but it's kinda hard to transverse."
Raid gathered the animals, and pulled out a spare dagger he had on him.
"Yeah, I slept fine. Just slipped on some slimy stuff and hit my head when I woke up." Putting down the dagger for a second, Raid felt the back of his head, where a lump was beginning to form. Sighing, he began to skin the animals.
"So you said you found the ravine? We should check it out once we eat." It was still midday, Raid figured they had enough time to make it there. Hopefully, they'd even make it back to the village.
"Yep, found the ravine. Which is a relief." Sheshia watches as Raid skins the animals. "How do you do that? I've always burned the skin off or ate them like that." She was extremely curious, since this was one of the few times she saw someone skin an animal she couldn't grasp how they do it. It surely got messy at times but atleast that they got fur to keep warm and food. She examines her paw for anything out of the ordinary on it and hides it under her tail as if she was hiding it from the animald running around in the forest.
"It's not too hard,"
Raid wrenched off the last bit of fur from a rabbit, using his feet to hold the carcass in place.
"Once you make a cut, you can just rip the rest of the fur off pretty easily."
Raid stuck his knife into its gut, wrenching it open. Carving the insides out of the rabbit as if it were a bloody pumpkin, he wiped his dirtied hand off using the fur from earlier.
"I'll admit, it's a bit harder with only one hand..."
"True but it'll get easier as you do it more right?" Sheshia felt bad for Raid since she felt like it was partially her fault his arm was missing. Her ears drooped and she looked down at the ground. "Sorry Raid you lost your arm." She hated the fact she choose to stay hidden instead of help Raid but now he lost his arm and was gonna have to learn to get around with only one arm.
"Pfft, it was that shit doctor's fault. I've seen people make it through worse wounds."
He hadn't really, but he assumed there probably was someone who could've saved his arm.
He grabbed another rabbit, and and repeated the procedure.
He ripped the rabbit open, keeping his hand steady.
"Here, let's get a fire go- right... actually, I assume you can cover the cooking?"
"Yeah, but I never really been good at it." She get a few twigs and lights them on fire putting them into the rabbit after covering the inside with leaves and sits back down watching it. "The only problem with ne cooking it the paw factor right noeband never really having the rocouraes to up in the mountains."
"I'll be fine if it's edible." Raid laughed. "I've had to eat some pretty awful things after all..." I don't think that'll be an issue though...
The smell was becoming intoxicating, and he was tempted to just eat it then and there. The meat was sizzling under her paw, going from a crimson color to a darker brown.
"Hmmmm..." Sheshia pokes the meat with her good paw claws. "I think it's done. I have no idea." She swips her tail and the fire goes out. She lays down and rests her head on the ground watching the smoke from the remains of the fire. "Let me know if it isn't all the way done. Don't want you to get sick, who does after all." She scratches her ear and returns to laying down. "And don't worry about ne not eating I'm not hunrgy." She smiles.
Raid bit straight into the meat. He hadn't eaten anything in two days, he wasn't going to care about the rawness. To him, anything he could get his hands on was a meal straight from the royal palace.
He wolfed it down with a satisfied smile on his face. However, he decided to leave the second rabbit for Sheshia, ignoring what she had told him.
"You really should eat. You're injured, it'll help you recuperate. Not to mention, we have quite a bit of walking to do right?"
He held it up, handing it to her.
"I'll be fine, I went much longer wothout food. Almost two months with only scraps and other things that I won't mention. It's just a simple part of my life. Besides it'll weight me down even more, why else do you think weasels eat a little bit at a time? It makes it easier for them the move and get around, I'm also wounded now also." She was sort if tempted by the smell of food but her body told her not to eat it. She nudges it back to Raid. "Eat it, you'll have a higher chance of moving faster then and it's easier for you since you have two legs while I have three useable to me right now. It'll just weight me down further if I eat it."
"Alright, If you're not going to eat."
The rabbit quickly disappeared in the matter of seconds.
Raid outstretched his hand, and using the water in the atmosphere, created three small spheres of ice in the palm of his hand. He popped them into his mouth, letting them melt. He turned to Sheshia. "Should we get going?"
"Yeah." She gets up and quickly tests her paw in the ground but she quickly retracts it with her ear flat. "That doctor's gonna be mad. Didn't we promise that we'd just find the creature and return?" Her paw was throbbing now, hopefully I'll be able to hunt still otherwise I'll be dead Sheshia thinks very quickly and licks it making it bleed again.
"I guess he will. Well, what happens, happens. Nothing we could've done about it."
He saw her limping, but decided to say nothing of it. She probably had a reason for avoiding treatment that he didn't know about. He sighed.
"Alright, can you lead the way?"
"Sure, though we can take our time there's no rush." Sheshia sniffs the air and walks into the woods passing by some ancient oaks and line trees thay still has a bit of morning dew on them. "It's nice here though I'd probably never like living in the dead of summer, the heat and humidity would kill me in a flash you know with the double coat of fur and stuff like that. Whats your favorite season and why?" Sheshia always liked to find out people's favorite seasons and why since she found thr subject interesting and it was fun to compare other people's answers.
"Well... winter, probably. Easier to track stuff in the snow. But yeah, I hate summer too."
Raid let his hand brush against the oaks that stretched far above him, taking a moment to look up.
"Is it annoying to live as a half-demon? I assume you take a lot of heat for being one."
Thinking for a moment, "Yeah, I do get a lot of heat for it but what am I going to do about it. My half kin have been hunted for just being demons and in reality not all of us are bad though we do have. That's the down side is I have to stay away from civilization a lot because ether I go to the demon side or they hunt me and kill me or worse." Sheshia looked at the ground, "It's all survival for my kind us lonely which helps I guess you know survival. Being a werecat doesn't help matters ether makes them worse."
"I see."
He had expected as much.
He continued following Sheshia in silence.
When they reached the ravine, it was already in the middle of the night.
"The cave should be somewhere around here..."
"Yep." Sheshia squeezes through the underbrush and jumps down onto the rock with a bit of a mewl. Seeing her clothes she runs up to them and inspects them, They seem okay which is pretty good I guess, She grabs her clothes in her mouth and starts dragging them away, "I'll be away for a few moments Raid, shifting isn't what everyone wants to see!"
"Mm, yeah, it's probably better if I don't look."
Raid wandered off to the side from the entrance to the cave, kicking a few pebbles that lay around.
Not for the first time since they got out of the cave, he wondered why all of this had happened.
It's not like every random kid has enough resources to set up a laboratory in an abandoned cave...
After a couple of minutes Sheshia walks out in her human form and stretches with a yawn holding her hand with her healthy hand, "Okay so" she pauses whrn she sees Raid at the pile of rubble, "You thinking about something huh?" Sheshia was just happy to have been able to shift. Though it was pretty painful for her due to her hand, the bright side about the rubble is that nothing would be discovered from in there for a while.
"Ah, yeah. It's nothing important though."
He looked at Sheshia, who was now humanoid.
This is going to take some time to get used to...
It was hard to imagine that just a few minutes ago she was a cat.
Raid scratched his head. "Well, we're pretty close to the village. You know the way back by any chance?"
"Yeah, It's all on the scent." Sheshia walks away and walks over a fallen log. "It's not to far." Their scent faded a bit but that was okay for her since as long as she was able to smell some form of scent she was gonna be able to lead them back. "You have any idea where we'd be able to spend the rest of the night or should we just hunker down at the docs again." She shivered hating the thought of having to get healed again she probably would have rathered it heal on its own pace but she didn't want to wait any longer for it since it could get worse in a few hours.
"We should just go to the doctor's, we need to tell him about the slime and get your hand healed anyway. Might as well, right?"
Raid didn't know if the doctor would let them stay, but he figured there was no harm in trying.
However, Raid wasn't sure if a Sheshia really wanted to stay there. She seemed to look displeased when she mentioned the man.
"Yeah, better to try then not to try. So help me if he tries to stab me with silver though of the town is in a riot I'll burn them down." Sheshia didn't really trust the doctor, she probably would have if he tagged along. Sighing, "I really don't trust him. You I trust since you haven't tried to kill me just for my fur or just out of pure hatred to my blood line. For all we know he could be a bad guy in secret or something." She was definitely suspicious of him but with good reason to and after years of living by herself in fear of being found out a burned at the stake.
"Well he didn't attack you the first time we went, right? He's the one who helped fix your stomach wound."
The town began to come into view.
Raid sighed.
"If you're that worried, I can keep watch so he doesn't do anything."
"That's not what I'm worried about." Sighing, "I'm just worried if the townsfolk. What if they found out some way and they'd want to try to kill me or the whole entire town starts to turn on eachother like who is a witch etcetera. It may seem like I'm being paranoid but if you were in my position you would be to no doubt." As they pass one of the first houses to the town Sheshia looks at the house, How do they live like that? All pent up in there during winter and not getting to enjoy the stars at night. She thinks to herself real wuick.
"I get that. People have hunted me down before. Don't sweat it though, a few farmers couldn't get by me. And if they want to kill each other, that isn't our problem."
Raid kicked up dirt from the road behind him as he walked.
He had decided a long time ago that he couldn't be bothered with people he didn't know. Even Sheshia, he saved only because he wanted the wolf pelts. However, she was an ally now, he wasn't going to let some villagers attack her.
"Thanks Raid." That comforted her a bit but she was still nervous she resisted saying bye to Raid and running off into the forest disappearing again for a while as she waited to see if her hand would heal properly without getting infected. The only catch was if she did that was that she'd probably die. Which she sure as hell didn't want. "How about this, we go for a nice drink for getting out of that cave a live and not as a pile of bones? Get your group to to come along since they did sort of help you out after those wolves attacked you." Wine and mead sounded great to Sheshia. It'll help get her mind off of her other wild life for a while.
"They're not really my group..." Raid mumbled under his breath.
He sighed.
"Alright, I'll search for them. They probably aren't in town right now though."
The bar itself wasn't hard to find, and he decided he should probably head there if he wanted to find that hunting group. But to start, he had to report to the doctor.
As they turned a corner, he stepped off to the right, heading towards the clinic.
"Yes!" Sheshia jumps up a bit smiling. Then she quickly stops as a stab of pain runs trough het arm. "Damn it. Can't be happy with that stupid hand." She was still happy on the inside but she wasn't able to express it. After a few minutes of Sheshia rubbing above her wounded hand they reach the doctor's clinic. Knocking on the door with her injured hand once Sheshia hisses waits and starts to try ot use her healing magic on the wound whispering very fast to help stop the bleeding that started when she knocked the door with her wounded hand on the door while using her healthy hand to knock on the door instead.
"Yes, can I- Its you two? I thought you were long dead! Didn't I say-"
Raid cut off the man.
"We just came here to say we killed it. And while we're here, can you treat her hand?"
Raid pointed to Sheshia.
"It'll take a lot more to kill us doc." Smiling she shows the doctor her hand, "I sort of got it stabbed witha knife by accident while fighting someone." She hated that girl and deep down she wished she was able to take her soul it would've been entertaining to see what she could do to it. But alas being only have demon didn't grant her that power but atleat she was dead. She was extremely lucky that it didn't strike her chest or bellow where her arm and chest meet, other wise that would have been game over for her and Raid. "Oh and please don't put me out again unless you absolutely recommend it. Cats sort of won't wake up sometimes when someone puts them to sleep with medicine."
"Oh, of course, if you don't want me to."
The doctor moved over to a cabinet, taking out a roll of bandages, and a sewing set, as well as some disinfectant.
"Just come over here, and Mr. Raid can explain what happened while I fix your hand."
The doctor beckoned Sheshia to sit on the side of a bed.
Raid sighed. He moved to the side of the room, and sat on a stool.
"Alright, so what exactly do you want to know?"
"Everything young man it might be important weather or not I have to give her medicine incase an infection sets in after I sew her hand. This'll hurt okay?" The doctor gets a bit of cloth and puts some disinfectant on it as Sheshia sits down at the edge of the bed. She prepares herself for the pain, "Don't worry doc, I'll be fine." Nodding he examines her hand and sighs, "You'll might have some nerve damage but no telling how it will be." Sheshia nods all she cared about was that she was able to hunt and retract her claws when needed. "So we tracked down the thing that was behind all the killings. Eventually we came upon a ravine. Which wasn't that far from the town actually. After we found the cave we decided to hide and wait for it to come out. The only thing of that part I remember is a slime dragon which attacked us. Want to add anything in Raid?"
"Not really. We took out the slime thing after that, and now we're here. Also Sheshia got stabbed with a knife." He looked at the doctor. "That's about it." Raid decided he didn't have to mention how they had killed the girl.
Looking away when the doctor glanced at him confused, he stood up. "Is there anything you need help with?" He pointed to Sheshia's hand.
OOC: I'm really sorry for not notifying you, I'm going to be busy until Nov 1 so I can't reply until then.
"You wouldn't mind if you go get a few linen wraps from the cabinet behind me please while I think about how to approach this stab wound" the doctor points behind him with his free hand looking closely at Sheshias hand. "This is going to hurt like hell but it's probably the only way to save the feeling in that hand." Smiling Sheshia nods, "But I'll still be able to hunt and claw at things so go ahead." Thw doctor nods and makes Sheshias hand into that of a fist. A bit of blood dripped downs her hand while Sheshia shuffles in her seat and taking a deep breath. "You still have a bit of feeling wich is good." The doctor grabs a bit of cotton and puts a bit of ointment on it and places it into Sheshias wound. "You'll be able to take this out in an hour or two. But if it's still bleeding and looks even worse pack it in again. when the bleeding does stop and it doesn't look so bad just cover it with a clean cloth and it should heal but you might not have complete feeling in the hand but you'll have some." Her examines the cotton again and covers it with his hand pressing on it.

Walking over to the cabinet, Raid glanced over to the window. He could see the street and the occasional wagon, nothing of which he had to worry about. Sighing, he opened the cabinet, and rummaged until he found the wraps.
"Doc."
Raid tossed the bandages over to the doctor and retraced his steps back to the stool. He sat down with a thump, crossing his arms and legs.
"Thanks." The doctor takes the linen and measures iut the amount he would need and wraps it losely over Sheshias hand then starts to wrap it tightly. He takes a pin and pokes it into the linen. "There you go." He gets up and puts the linen away. "Raid you have any wounds that needs to get looked at? I don't want to see you guys come back here with you a feverish mess from an infection. At lest not for a few weeks." He smiles. Sheshia gets up after examining and smelling the linen slightly and listening to the doctor finish his sentence, "Thanks doc." She gives the doctoe a quick hug, "You know I'm shocked that you haven't made a big name for yourself yet. But I'm wondering how did you heal his wounds," She point's her finger at Raid, "And my wounds when we came here and he was almost dead?" The doctor laughs slightly, "Thats the secret of the trade my friend."
"Maybe it's cuz he'll chop limbs off without hesitation." muttered Raid.
Looking back to the doctor, he replied.
"I'm fine, thanks. I think we'll head out now. I appreciate the help you've given us."
So... we're going to a bar now? I don't see why it's such a big deal to meet with the rest of them, but... eh, whatever
He glanced over to Sheshia, and opened the door of the clinic.
"See yah doc. Becareful okay?" Sheshia walks out the door and closes it behind her. She catches up with Raid. "Gods that felt like it took forever. Doctors freak me out." By that point she was getting pretty hungry though she didn't want to show it. It was pretty light out to her still though probably pitch black for human eyes. "You know of any good places for me to kove to Raid? That girl was in that cave and she might have a few friends around the forest who are probably gonna be aching for revenge." Moving was probably the best option for her since she needed to get a break from mountain life and to learn how to blend it more to society.
OOC: So sorry this took so long. you know the rules of going to school, gotta get good grades or else I'll loose internet for a few weeks XD
