Physical Description
Height:
5'5"
Roxi is about average height for a woman, not too tall, not too short. Her legs are long and shapely, but she refuses to wear heels.

Build and Weight:
142 lbs
No one could ever claim that Roxi suffered from anorexia or of being a delicate little maiden needing protected. With a lean, athletic build, she is in excellent physical condition, and in the prime of her life. She was blessed with just enough womanly curves to make certain she would never be mistaken for a man, but not so much as to get in her way.

Eyes and Face:
Ash Blue
Roxi wasn't born with those baby blue eyes you just fall into. More like the glacier blue of ice. The chips of flint-grey sprinkled through her iris only intensify the cold and hard effect of her lingering gaze. Not to say she always looks like she wants to kill you with a look, that grey can also soften the icy blue in her eyes. More often rather than simply look hard; her eyes seem guarded, as if not wanting to reveal anything.

A heart-shaped face, with high cheekbones, full lips, and a petite nose give her a rather pretty face. Not gorgeous, beautiful, or stunning, but pretty seems a suitable summary.

Hair:
Brunette
Roxi had hair the color of dark mahogany with coppery highlights and undertones. Generally she just lets her hair fall naturally in waves past her shoulders, but not much longer than that. Sometimes she'll pull it back in a simple and short ponytail. Her hair is fine and silky, not that most people ever get to touch it, because that's a little creepy when you don't know anyone.

Skin:
Golden Bronze
Warm, sun kissed skin wraps her body. Her hands are calloused and her skin marred here and there with thin, slightly lighter colored from the rest of her, scars. On her back are several large, jagged scars, obviously made by a whip.

Clothes and Gear:
Roxi prefers something comfortable and functional to showy and impractical. She absolutely loathes skirts and dresses and wouldn't be caught dead in heels. She'd probably break her neck if she tried; definitely looks like a tomboy.

Soft boots that turn down mid-calf are usually adorning her feet, because they can move silently on the grassy and mossy forest floors that she calls home. Form-fitting pants are kept tucked into her boots, and a light linen shirt with billowy sleeves tucked carefully into leather bracers. A fitted leather jerkin, padded and lined with dragon scales for protection is worn almost always.

A linen mask generally covers her nose and mouth, the material easy to breathe through while keeping her features hidden. A hooded cloak is often worn, casting her as a mysterious figure indeed. All her clothing are muted greens, browns, and greys, allowing her to blend into the forest with ease.

Her gear consists of a longbow made of yew wood, a leather quiver belted at the waist, a hunting and skinning knife is kept on the opposite hip, and a smaller knife is concealed in each boot.

Personality
Introverted & Jaded:
Roxi used to be an outgoing, happy child that made friends easily. Being out in the world on her own has quieted her down immensely. She isn't in her old childhood village and these aren't her childhood friends she's dealing with. The world is dangerous and nobody owes you any favors. A harsh lesson learned.

Putting your trust in people is always a risk. She doesn't make friends often and even actively avoids people in some instances. She goes into town only when she needs supplies that she cannot obtain another way or to sell furs she has collected and tanned.

Calm & Steadfast:
Not an overly excitable person, Roxi isn't one to panic or lose her head in a sticky situation. Often when others are becoming irrational she will step up to be the voice of reason, helping to calm everyone else down so that things don't get out of hand. Non-emergency situations are another matter, of course. Calm in the face of adversary doesn't mean impassive or a pushover.

While she has become a little jaded from living on her own as something of a hobo, once you get past that wary front, she's a truly good friend. Earn her trust and you've got a loyal and supportive friend. Of course if you break that trust, then you can forget your friendship, because she can give the cold shoulder just as well as anyone, and Roxi has been known to hold grudges.

Resourceful & Stubborn:
Living on the road with nothing but what you can carry, Roxi has had to learn to become very resourceful. Not to mention you'd have to have an iron-will to be able to live without even the basic comforts of an actual house, a bed, three square meals a day, among many other things that other people often take for granted.

Her mother said she was stubborn, she insists that she's just persistent. Her few friends tell her she's just splitting hairs when trying to argue against her own stubborn nature. With her stubbornness comes a sarcastic wit and more than a little temper.

History
Roxanne Davenport was born to loving parents. Her father was a soldier; her mother stayed home and looked after her and her three older brothers. While her early childhood was fairly uneventful, just another happy child playing and making friends. She did wear mostly hand-me-down clothing from her older brothers and was never very girly.

When she was nine, her father was killed fighting. Her mother couldn't really support them on her own, so her brothers started working to make enough to keep them all fed. By the time Roxanne was eleven, her mother had remarried. Her stepfather was a cruel man with no interest in his new wife's children. It was bearable until her mother passed from illness.

Roxanne was beaten for the smallest of transgressions, her brothers were old enough to leave, but she was left behind and doesn't really know where her brothers went. Her stepfather eventually sold her to pay off a gambling debt. She was mistreated brutally, whipped; leaving scars on her back that would stay with her the rest of her life.

At fifteen she managed to run away. At first she didn't have anything and certainly didn't know how to survive on her own. However, staying on the run and with a newfound distrust of people, she managed to learn things from anyone who would teach her. Hunting, skinning, trapping, and tracking. She learned the way of the woods.

When she was twenty, Roxanne came across the scene of a poaching. Someone had raided a gryphon next, killing the adults and stealing the hatchlings. All but one, that is, because a tired, hungry little hatchling had peeked out of hiding to look at her pitifully. It was a beautiful creature, white with spots and a dark black beak, the snowy feathers accented with tuffs of onyx.

His name is Dirk, and because she raised him from a baby, they share a strong bond. He's her closest and truest friend. Perhaps the only living creature she truly trusts.

Year after year she has only become more proficient with her survival skills and now has the confidence to know that she will never have to rely on anyone to take care of her every again. Because of her reclusive nature she has never married, and has no children.

Magic/Abilities
Archery: Roxi is a deadly shot with her bow. Small targets, moving targets, small moving targets, doesn't matter. She's got a keen eye and can set up a shot quickly and from a long range.

Tracking: If it leaves even a trace of its passing, human or animal, she will hunt it down. Once on the trail of something she will never give up.

Trapping: She often sets snares to catch small game, as arrows are time consuming to make and to risk breaking or losing one for such a small payoff isn't worth it. While small game is her usual target for trapping, she is quite capable of trapping things as large as a bear, although that takes much longer to set up and is often not worth the effort.

Relationships
Her family is dead to her. Her mother and father are dead and her brothers left her to rot.

Richard Davenport - Father
Loren Davenport - Mother
Samuel, Joshua, Mitchel - Brothers

Dirk, the gryphon, is her steadfast companion of the last nine years.
