Physical Description
A tall woman by Connlaothian standards (in fact, she's even a few inches taller than her brother!), Petrin Stark has a strong beauty about her. She dresses simply, plainly, and normally keeps her hair done in any number of mixed braids (a style Ahjfeld is most known for, due to the strong winds in the plains). Her hair is long and red, never once had she cut it, except a few times she had terrible tangles in it from her youth. Her eyes are a mixture of green and blue, and seem to change, depending on the time of day, or her mood.
Personality
Family comes first, as her father always taught her. There will always be war, but blood will always be true. She's more of a tomboy, adventurous and smart. Her father had taught her a lot about history, politics and the art of the sword.

History
Lady Petrin Stark had seen many things come and go throughout her life. Having been only a teenager when the civil war broke out and the mage camps erected, she found herself being raised in isolation away from her duchy's capital. Though her family did not fully support the war, they also did not entirely ignore it, but tried to remain as far away from it's blood spilling propaganda as they could.
The Stark family is a well known family to have many successes in war's past, and presumably, war's to come, but due to the family's vows to the church, and it's strong will to protect family above all else, because more than one of it's family lines is a mage, it refuses to support a war to make any changes against them. But they also refuse to take up arms to support those against the Grand Duke as well.
This left the Stark family in a precarious position, as they were nearer to the boarders of Allar than they'd have liked, and were often times spammed for men to join the army. Although not a supporter, the Stark's family lands of Wallund were in a precarious position, and would, at times, allow a few men to join the ranks for the Grand Duke- with them were the Stark's eldest and only son. His son had gone off to join the ranks of his own 'free will'- with the hopes that his participation would keep the rest of his family out of the war.
Not able to see the complete reasoning behind her brother's sacrifice to join arms with a cause he didn't believe in, his younger sister rebelled by desiring to know the art of the sword. Because of the dangerous times they lived in, her father obeyed, giving her full access and strict training each day to learn how to fight and defend herself. As Petrin grew older, she began to get something of a name for herself, but any of her victories as a swordswoman seemed to be kept in Ahjfeld alone.
Now that her home duchy is under attack by the duchy of Turgall, she finds herself needing to use the swordskills against the men who wish to raid her home lands, try to draw out her people to join the Grand Duke, or to try to make them prisoners for the Duke of Turgall.
As it stands, Wallund remains still free of either side of the war, but not without consequences, for her father had been gravely injured protecting the wall of their town and keeping the peace to his people. Too sickly and injured to rule, Petrin found herself as reagent until her brother returns. And as reagent, she's found herself belly deep in battles along her land, not knowing who to trust as the enemy, or friend.
Those who are close to her know she is a mage. Though she doesn't outwardly hide it, she also doesn't go around proclaiming what she is. Her magic, she see's as a blessing from Ansgar, and uses it only for noble purposes- to protect her family, to protect her people. This being said, she has used it to ward off intruders getting too close to her family's lands, but most just believe Wallund is a windier provence in Ahjfeld than most, not knowing that, at times this might be true, there is a little magic behind this.
