Title: A break in monotony, perhaps?
Post by: Anonymous on March 02, 2008, 09:34:29 PM
Two wide green eyes opened lazily as Lysael yawned loudly.  Rolling over and sitting up, he stretched and leaned back, rubbing his eyes as he did so.  For a brief moment, his face was clearly visible, as was the darkened remains of his horn.  The moment passed, and Lysael's hair shifted to hang forward over his eyes again as he looked around the room furtively.

Mara was still asleep.  Good.  He'd no desire to face her, not after last night's argument.  She'd pushed him, prodded him, and finally provoked him into exploding at her.  It'd been too late to go stomping out, so he'd resorted to hurling himself into the bed and throwing the blankets over his head.  He knew he'd looked like a child throwing a tantrum, but hadn't cared at the time.

Now... Once Mara woke, he'd be subjected to those concerned looks of hers, those worried words.  Lysael didn't want to deal with it now.

And so, he washed and dressed quickly.  A pair of dark brown pants, a faded blue vest, and a pair of black boots made up today's clothing.  A few minutes later, Lys left the inn, his hair and tail still slightly damp, and paused just outside the door, blinking in the sunlight.  Why did he have the feeling that today wasn't going to be one of the better days?

...The lecture he'd get from Mara might be it.  Whatever.  He shoved his hands in his pockets, and glared at the street, letting his silvery-white hair hang over his face as usual.

Just wakeing up, Inumisha quickly got dressed and brushed her long, silver-whit hair. She grabbed her money and left the inn. On her way out, she accidentaly ran into Lys.
"Oh, im sorry." She said. Bowing slightly, Inumisha turned and hurried off to the market. She went to find food supplies to make breakfast for everyone at the inn. This would be her payment for her stay.

He staggered slightly as a woman knocked into him, yanking his hands out of his pockets to help him regain his balance.  And then she bowed at him.  What the hell... "Yeah, well, watch where you're going next time."  He muttered at her.

Lysael stared after her.  Her hair was almost the same color as his.  And it was usually only the Kin, like him, who had hair that color.  She certainly didn't seem to be Unicorn Kin, though.  And it wasn't just the lack of a horn.  She felt odd.  Darker.

However, as he heard the jingle of coins in a pouch, he banished such thoughts from his mind.  The man walking alongside her had a small (yet full, by the sound of it) money pouch.  He crept up behind the man, and with a barely noticeable flash of a knife, Lys had cut the cord tying the pouch to the man's belt.  Catching and holding it so it made no sound, he waited 'til the man had turned down another street before slipping it into his pocket.

He wasn't sure if the girl had seen it, but he didn't really care.  Though he did keep pace with her and mutter, "Sorry for my earlier rudeness."  He found himself oddly curious about her.  That strange darkness made him slightly wary, but as long as she didn't intend him harm, Lys felt reasonably safe in pursuing his curiosity.

Her dog like ear twitched when Lys spoke. Inumisha smiled and looked back at him. "its alright." She continued walking, picking up food products and paying for them as she went. Collecting much food, she asked with a laugh. "Why are you following me?"
She gatherd more food an finished. She began to head back to the inn

He narrowed his eyes at her, his attention caught by the girl's ears.  Definitely not one of the Kin.  Why are you following me?  Lysael scowled and shoved his hands in his pockets.  He'd never been much good at sorting out his feelings.  "Curiousity."

As the inn came back into view, he snuck a sideways glance at the girl.  "What are you?"  He could have kicked himself.  She'd want to ask questions as well.  Stupid, stupid.

Mara woke suddenly, looking around the room.  Lysael had left without waking her?  Well, they did have that argument.  Really, she should have just left him alone, but seeing him look like that was so saddening.

She washed up and dressed, picking out a light blue dress, nothing fancy. Heading downstairs, she sat at a corner table to await Lysael's return.  Hopefully he'd return soon.  It hadn't been that bad of an argument, really.

"I'm half-dog demon vampyre. And Im assuming you of the unicorns? No?" She laughed. She the smiled widley. "You know, you realy shouldnt steal from people." She recalled when Lys took the money from that man. Holding her index finger up to her lips she said."Dont worry i wont tell." She still smiled as they reached the door.

He recoiled from her as soon she finished speaking.  Demon?  And vampire?  Even though his purity was not exactly...pure anymore, the instinct to flee was still strong.  "You..." He started, then fell silent as he shoved the door open and slipped through, glancing back at her warily.

Small wonder she'd felt so strange to him.  A creature of the darkness, of course she'd make him, one of the light, feel unnerved.  She seemed nice enough though.

Her little comment about his thievery made him stop, still standing in the doorway.  Lys rolled his eyes.  "He's still alive, he'll get over it."  He really didn't feel any guilt over the theft.  Humans, and several other races as well, put far too much emphasis on money.   Really, the only reason he kept his talent secret was because Mara would shriek and fuss over it.

Speaking of which, he'd just spotted said girl.  Oh, damn.  He turned around suddenly, staring straight at Inumisha.  "You'd better not say a thing to Mara."

Inumisha smiled, "Of course.I have to go prepare breakfast. Hope to see you there." Inumisha then waved good-bye then left to the kitchen."Feel free to stop in to help or somthing"She called.
" It better be good miss" the manager said. Then he left.
The first thing Inumisha noticed when she enterd the kitchen were the dirty dishes. So she quickly got to work. As she washed, all she could think about was Lys and if he'd be at breakfast.

((Careful with the double posts, Inu.  ^^;; ))

"Yeah, sure."    Of course he'd be at breakfast.  As far as helping, though... no.  He had no skill in cooking, nor would he let them put him to work scrubbing pots and pans.  He wasn't quite sure why, but his damned curiousity still hadn't been satisfied.  Bah.

"Lysael?"  He turned around to see Mara smiling at him.  "I'm glad you're back.  I was a little worried."  Lys held his silence, glancing away as his tail flicked from side to side.  The girl sighed and reached out to touch the teen's shoulder.  "I'm sorry about last night.  Now, won't you come sit down?  The owner said something about breakfast being soon."

Resisting the urge to sigh in annoyance, he followed Mara back to the table.  He glanced at her warily as she smiled at him suddenly.  "So, who's your new friend?"

"She's not my friend."  He growled.  That was at least true.  He didn't even know her name, how could they be friends?

Inumisha worked effortlessly at making beakfast. Thoughts of Lys filled her mind. And the aroma of different foods filled whole inn.
As Inu finished cooking, the manager came in. "Are you ready?"
"yes"She said dissapointedly. She was hoping it was Lys. She took the food out to the large table in the dinning hall, and sat next to the manager as the breakfast alarm began to sound.

Jovan was tired. It was far to early for him to be awake. But he hadn't slept well the night before. And it seemed a waste to keep laying it bed staring at the back of his eyelids. So the rabbit had decided to get some breakfast.

He rubbed at his dark circled eyes as he wondered out into the common room of the inn. He was a bit hard to miss in his brightly colored clothes and the large white rabbit ears that poked out from under the red bandanna he had tied around his head.

After his less then pleasant dreams, Jovan didn't feel much like being alone. And sense he didn't know anyone, that just meant making a new friend. And the cute girl with the white haired boy seemed just as good as any.

He slid onto the bench next to the girl, grinning easily at her, "Good morning. I couldn't stand eating alone this morning. Never good for the digestion that. And I can never resist the urge to sit next to a pretty girl. My name is Jovan." He turned his smile on the white haired boy, "What are your names, my new breakfast partners?"

"My name is Inumisha." Inumisha smiled politly. She tried to stand up to bow, but was forcfully sat back down by the manager. Whos hand was now on her UPPER thaigh. Inumisha didnt like this one bit, she knew what might happen.
Gulping, then smiling halfly, she said," Dig in everyone."

Jovan looked over at the new girl that showed up. He smiled at her, "Hello to you as well. It's nice to meet you." He glanced down at the food the manager had delivered to the table, sniffing at it delicately, "What is for breakfast today?"

Breakfast was generally not the best meal for him. As it tended to either consist of meat and eggs, neither of which he ate, or tasteless oatmeal. But one could always hope for bread.

Turning to look at the newcomer, Mara grinned widely at him, even as Lysael muttered something that sounded suspiciously like 'dammit'.  Really, was a quiet morning too much to ask for?  First the demon girl, now this guy dressed in the brightest colors, and--Wait.  A pair of large rabbit's ears adorned the guy's head.  What the...

First the demon girl with dog ears, and now bright boy with rabbit ears.  His attention was drawn to Inumisha as she emerged from the kitchen.  He returned to staring at a spot on the table, glaring at it as if today's events were its fault.  Arguing with Mara last night had put him in not the best of moods when he woke, then encountering and learning what demon girl was... And his thrice-damned curiousity, which was driving him to want to know more about her.  And now this guy, flirting with Mara.

...He wasn't even going to try to understand why that upset him.  But then something caught his attention...it might have been the way Inumisha sat back down, or the way the manager was crowding too close to her.  Whatever it was, Lysael was bright enough to figure out what was going on.  And now, even though the manager hadn't even looked at him except for when he'd paid for the room, he felt threatened.

And he didn't dare do a damn thing.  His hands clenched under the table. Even if something happened, he knew he wouldn't dare fight with the man.  Not that he was physically weak... No, it was the fear of another accident, of another death on his hands.

And seemingly oblivious to Lysael's discomfort, Mara smiled back at Inumisha and Jovan.  "Morning.  I'm Mara, and this is Lysael.  Don't mind him, he's moody this morning."

Inumisha stared at Lys her eyes fix on him. Begging him to get her away from the manager. Then her ear twitched, the manager stood up and tried to get lnumisha to follow. She tried to pull away, but to no avail, failed.
"You owe me" The manager said tightening his grip on her wrist.
Inumisha looked back at Lys hoping for help, her eyes in terror and begging for him to save her. Then, slowly, her eyes changed from golden yellow to a deep blue. She then left the room.

Jovan had smiled at Mara, flirting lightly with her. He was enjoying her friendly manner, so different from many people he ran into, "It doesn't seem to be the best morning for most people. But getting such pretty breakfast companions does go a way to make the day brighter."

He winked over at Lysael, "Even if some are moody. I shall do my best to not take it to heart."

At the manager's instance that the obviously reluctant girl go with him, the rabbit looked rather uncomfortable, the smile leaving his face for the first time, "Um, sir...I don't think she's interested."

Jovan was a lover, an artist, definitely not a fighter. But he didn't really like what was going on, "If she has a debt, maybe I can settle some of it. What exactly does she owe?"

He was a little too uncomfortable at the manager's actions to notice the change in the girl. The painter looked like he would much rather crawl under the table then deal with the confrontation.

He seemed to have frozen in place for a moment, watching the manager drag Inu away.  He knew that look.  His gaze dropped suddenly.  Oh gods, he knew what the man intended, knew the right thing would be to stop him, but fear held him in place.

Mara stared as well, shocked that the manager would do such a thing, and be so...well... blatant about it.  She gaped at the sight, then turned to her table mates.  They both seemed reluctant to face this, Lysael more so than Jovan.  Repressing the desire to tell them both off for not being men and stopping the manager, she rose from her seat suddenly.

Her pretty face set in an intimidating scowl, she marched over and threw the door open, stomping down the hall and staring down the manager.  "Hey you!  What's wrong with you?  Didn't your mother ever teach you any manners?  When a lady tells you 'No', then you damn well better leave her alone."

She paused, glancing at Inumisha with a softer expression, then scowled at the manager, continuing to speak, though she abandoned the loud tone of voice (that ensured everyone in the inn heard her) that she'd been using previously.  "I think it'd be very bad for business if word gets out about this.  Your's isn't the only inn in town, you know."

The manager smirked."No one will care, ecpecially if the princess stayed here. Buisness would be booming." He pointed at Inumisha. "I dont mean to sound geedy but...if she bore my child, i would be king."
Inumishas garbs were nearly torn off from the waist up from trying to escape. Her arm was still in his slowly tightening grip.
"She would make me rich, and my son would be the heir. Though... there is a small pitfall..." The manager dragged Inumisha back to the dinning room(now pretty much empty) then points to Lys. "I heard her singing about you... Thats reason it was so lively in here before breakfast. Her songs hold power, hell, so does she. "He grinned. "you are my pitfall."
As the manager spoke, Inumisha was trying to cover herself. Her hair hung all around her and her bangs coverd her eye. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she sufferd this torment.
The manager quickly and carlessy pick inu up over his shoulder causing her to hit her head and get knoked out. "Bye..." The manager leaves as blood drops fell to the ground.

"...Er..." Jovan felt a little over his head. He had just wanted breakfast. That was all. And a bit of company. Maybe some light flirting. Really, was that too much to ask?

He was a coward by nature, rabbits not known for their bravery. But this wasn't right. He stood up then, trying to not look as utterly terrified as he felt, "Um...I think it's best you...er... unhand the lady. I...err....please?"

He glanced around the room. It was probably to much to hope that some knight defender was having dinner and would leap in any moment to save the day so Jovan didn't have too.
Title:

"Princess?"  Mara blinked in bewilderment, then shook her head.  "You know what, I don't care about your plans for your nonexistent heirs.  You're a pathetically disgusting excuse for a man, and if you don't let her go..."  She let the threat hang in the air.  Mara was no weak damsel that relied on other people.  If she could just get the man to let go of Inumisha...

She wasn't quite sure what he meant by pitfalls and power, but she saw the way Lysael jerked when the man pointed at him.  As if he'd been struck.  Now she was really mad.

And the manager scooped up the demon girl and left, Mara stayed rooted in place, infuriated.  And then she turned on her heel and marched over to Lysael.  "Give me your knife.  I'm going to cut that bastard's heart out, and feed it to the pigs."  She growled.

Lysael passed the knife over, hoping she didn't really mean that, and partly grateful that she wasn't asking him to fight.  He felt so sick right now.

Taking the knife, Mara glanced at Jovan and her friend, a little worried about Lysael, and said.  "You two are going to back me up, since everyone else here appear to be a bunch of gutless cowards."

That snapped Lysael out of his trance, and he looked up at Mara, shock and disbelief clear on his face.
Title:
Post by: Anonymous on March 04, 2008, 07:44:08 AM
Jovan gave a small, nervous laugh, "I aspire to one day be as brave as a gutless coward." He glanced around at the room. There was no Knight waiting to leap to some Princesses defense, just a bunch of tired, scared townsfolk. He sighed, "But, well, I think that you holding that knife glaring at me is a lot scarier then that man in. Though as your back up, I feel you should know my best fighting skill is curling into a ball and begging someone to stop kicking me."

The painter wasn't a fighter. He was an artist. And he wasn't really all that ashamed of the fact that most fights involved running like mad or getting beaten up. He gave a short prayer that when the large Innkeeper beat him senseless that he would avoid his face. He looked over at Lysael, "What was he talking about you being his pitfall?" He couldn't tell what the pretty young man's relationship was with the dog eared Princess, "Are you her fiancé or something?"
Title:

"I don't need you to fight.  Sometimes superior numbers are enough to intimidate someone into surrendering."  She gave him a closer look, scrutinizing his lean frame.  "Besides, you look like you're pretty fast.  If he lets go of Inumisha, I'm sure you can grab her and run.  I don't expect either of you fight.  Don't wanna fight him myself, I just wanna get Inumisha away from him.

Lysael rose from his seat with an air of resigned acceptance, glancing back at  Jovan.  "I don't know.  And I don't want to know."  He had his suspicions, but he wouldn't even tell Mara, let alone someone he barely knew.  " I don't even know Inumisha.  She ran into me outside the inn, and we talked for a while.  Didn't even know her name until she introduced herself at the table."  His tail flicked behind him jerkily.  As long as it didn't come to a physical fight, he'd be fine.  Right?

As the manager carried Inumisha out, an odd wind began to blow. Then the sound of a flute began to play. The manager payed no attention to the eerie tune.
Then, Inumisha awoke in a trance. Shoving her hand through his back, the man fell over dead. Blood dripped from her hand, she stood there...stoic.
Title:
Post by: Anonymous on March 04, 2008, 10:50:52 PM
Jovan nodded, "Let's hope he's easily intimidated. Though I think he may have gone off the deep end." He shook his head, "I can't imagine that's normal behavior anywhere."

He head towards the door the Manager had left from. He's nose twitched at the strong scent of blood and he pulled the door open, expecting to find Inumisha badly hurt.

At the sight of the girl standing over the mans dead body, his blood dripping off her hand, the painter froze. That....was bad. The rabbit part of his brain kept screaming at him to bolt. The human part of him just slowly backed up.

He glanced back at Mara and Lysael, his voice soft, "I...er...think she doesn't need a rescue anymore..."
Title:
Post by: Anonymous on March 05, 2008, 04:35:39 AM
Mara nodded.  "Let's hope."  She and Lysael followed after Jovan, and when he pulled open the door, even Mara could smell the blood.  Blue eyes went impossibly wide as she took in the scene.  She'd been in no way serious when she'd said she was gonna cut the man's heart out.  Mara was not much of a fighter.

She shook her head a little, and stepped around the fallen body, doing her best not to look at it, and reached for the girl's shoulder.  "Inumisha?"  She put her hand lightly on her shoulder, shaking her gently.  "It's alright.  Come on."  She glanced back at Jovan, blinking when she realized Lysael was no longer standing there.  "I think...we'd better get out of here."

Lysael had backed out of the room as quickly as he could.  That scene was just...sickeningly familiar.  And the smell of all that blood made him feel physically ill.  He backed into the bench and lost his balance, sitting down with a soft thump.  He really, really didn't want to deal with this.

When mara shook inumisha, inumisha jumped backwards as tears formed into her now glazed over eyes. Inumisha resisted attacking them. She couldn't, she had no reason to hurt them... after all, they were trying to help.
Inumisha jumped into the air, then double jumped into the forest.

Jovan wasn't even going to try and pretend to go after her. There were limits. And he was not about to chase a rather dangerous dog person thing. Rabbits ran from things, not after them.

He glanced over at the other male, not wanting to have to see the sight of the manager's dead body, "So...um....do you know any other inns? That....um....just serve breakfast?"
Title:
Post by: Anonymous on March 06, 2008, 06:23:43 PM
She looked rather shocked, all things considered.  Inumisha had just fled the scene, and her back up had, well....backed out.  They should go after her, really.  Glancing back at her friends, and then to the window Inumisha had leaped out of, Mara came to another conclusion.

This was not exactly going to look good when people came to see what happened.  And...it'd get worse when the manager's family found out.  Eeugh.  That settled it.  She strode back in to the common room, and looked at the two guys, addressing Jovan.  "I dunno.  There's bound to be one around here somewhere, and even if we can't find it, we can always get something from the market."  She glanced around nervously.  "I don't want to be here when people start investigating this.  We should go."

Lysael never even heard Jovan speak.  The teen was staring off into space, apparently just...not there.  He was a pacifist, really, and ever since things had gone wrong, he'd become a coward as well.  Insults and mockery came easily to him, but the first sign of violence, even a simple bar fight, and he'd flee the scene.  He just couldn't handle it anymore.

But, the sound of Mara's voice snapped him out of the trance, and he glanced up, blinking.  Leaving sounded like a very good idea.  "Yeah.  Let's go."  He didn't seem to be quite as out of it now, though his voice sounded unusually soft.  At this point, Lys would have loved to just crawl back into bed and pretend this was all a bad dream, but obviously, it wasn't a choice.

After Inumisha left, the flute stopped playing, breaking Inumisha out of the trance. Knowing what she did, Inumisha hid under a tree and cried. Everything that happend.... wasnt supposed to happened..... She didnt plan on becoming a puppet again...after all...Nimari died...Right?
Sighing, she lay back. "I hope they'll take me back..." Inumisha looked into the sky. Hoping somehow, her words would reach them. "Im sorry."
Just befor falling asleep from crying, Inumisha transformed into a small demon dog.

"I agree with that. I don't want to be anywhere near here when people start coming around." Jovan was a coward. He wasn't ashamed of it. Its just who he was. When it came down to fight or flight, he choose the latter.

He shook his head, sighing, "It's probably too late to go back to bed and pretend this never happened anyway." Then he gently nudged the traumatized boy with his shoulder, "Come on. Let's get ya some food. Then maybe you'll look less like ya crawled out of Hell and more like the cute guy I wanted to flirt with this morning."

His smile reappeared, though at less then full force as he turned to offer Mara his arm, "Though that isn't to say such a lovely young lady would go unnoticed."

Mara didn't even bat an eye as Jovan flirted with Lysael.  But as he offered her his arm, turning that smile on her, she let out a little gasp.  Jovan wasn't the cause of it, though.  "Our stuff is still in the room..."  She fidgeted for a second, then glanced at the duo, nudging them towards the door.  "I'll meet you outside."

She turned and ran down the hall, detouring around the body, trying not to think too much about the death.  In the room, she found two simple traveling packs, and began stuffing clothes and belongings in them, not bothering to sort them.  Had Mara known they'd be leaving today, she would've packed this morning!  ...She really hoped Inumisha was alright.  Maybe they'd run into her somewhere else in town?

Lysael was...surprised.  The other boy was flirting with him, and for Lys, it was kind of strange.  Girls flirting with him, he was used to that. But another guy, he really wasn't sure how to handle it.  ...Mara didn't seem to mind Jovan's flirting, so he supposed it was alright.

He stood up, just before Mara nudged them, and glanced sideways at Jovan.  Why did he suddenly feel so awkward?  Gah.  "Y-yeah."  He started out the door, glancing back to see if Jovan was following.

((Apologies for the delay.  I've been scatter-brained today.))

ooc: Hey, no worries ^.^

Jovan was doing his very best to pretend this morning had never, ever happened. And getting to tease Mara and Lysael was helping smooth the upset over this morning.

And he couldn't feel that worried about Inumisha. She seemed rather capable of taking care of herself. She was a predator and he was prey. And seeing her dripping in the blood of the innkeeper had rather scared him. But he did hope she was okay.

He gave Lysael another wide grin, "Something on your mind pretty boy?" He fell into pace between the two. He liked being around people. And these two were quite fun. Mara seemed nice and easy to get along with. And the boy seemed like endless opportunities to tease.

Outside the painter wrinkled his nose. He often found the best way to find an inn was to follow his nose. It didn't always work, but it was a good start, "Now, lets see if we can find some breakfast. This way smells nice."

He started off down a side street. He didn't seem in any great hurry, stopping every so often to sniff the air.

"Something on your mind pretty boy?"

"Wha- No. I mean..."  Lys snapped his mouth shut and looked away.  This was just irritating now.  ...He was blushing now, too.  Great.  Intensely grateful for how his hair hid most of his face, the teen jammed his hands in his pockets, hoping that Jovan would leave him be.  Of course, given how deeply he was blushing, there was little chance the rabbit wouldn't notice.

Throwing a few more items into the packs, Mara picked them both up, and left the inn quickly.  It was just in her nature to worry about Inumisha, and that worry would likely not be quieted until she'd seen the other girl again.

Spotting the duo turning down one of the smaller side streets, Mara caught up to them and nodded.  "I don't think it'll be too much longer before someone starts raising a fuss back there.  We should be fine."  Glancing at Lysael and then Jovan, she furrowed her brow in confusion.  Had something happened?

The rabbit nodded, grinning like the cat with the canary, "I'm sure they wont point any fingers at us."

There was a sadistic streak a mile wide in Jovan that loved to make people blush. He made sure to move a bit closer to the unicorn, sliding his arm around the boys, "Now lets find a place to mingle and blend in."

He glanced over at Mara, "Do you want some help carrying those?" He held an arm out for the bags, "Doesn't seem right making the girl carry the bags."

After Inumisha woke up, she decided to go look for them. But she stayed in demon dog form. Before she left, she found a stream and washed up.
'It shouldnt be too hard to find them' she thought. Sniffing the air, she quickly followed their sent. As she passed by, people mistook her for a wolf, so they ran. 'Why are they running? Im a dog for cryin' out loud.'
Inumisha ignored the comments and buckets of water being splashed onto her. She just wanted to find Mara, Lys, and Jovan.
Soon, their scent got stronger and stonger, soon she could see the bright colors of Jovans outfit ans Lys's tail.
Barking with merriment, she followed close behind them hoping they'd see her. More or less smell her. Even though she hadba bath, she did kinda smell like wet dog....

Those deep green eyes went wide with shock as Jovan slid his arm around him.  His tail flicked from side to side jerkily as Lysael glanced up at Jovan.  That grin.  He blushed even deeper as he looked away.  Gah...  Well.  Mara wasn't trying to intervene, so this couldn't be so bad, and there was no need to be so... embarrassed by this flirting.  Part of him thought this wasn't so bad, anyways.  ...The rest of him thought that part was retarded.

Guys weren't supposed to flirt with other guys.  But... this was a little better than girls making those faces at him, and giggling incessantly.  ...It was.  Kind of.

She quirked an eyebrow at the rabbit as he draped that arm around Lys's shoulders.  It seemed Jovan was more intent upon flirting with Lysael than her.  Mara grinned, suddenly amused with this.  That really was a lovely shade of red on the teen's cheeks.

Any other time she would have gladly let someone else tote one of the packs, but now, she was far too interested in seeing how this all would play out.   She smiled at Jovan.  "Nah, I've got them.  Most of this stuff is mine, anyways."

The sound of a dog barking caught her attention, and she looked behind her to see a rather large white dog following them.  In fact, it kinda looked like a wolf.  ...Wolves didn't dare get close to town, let alone go running through the streets in broad daylight.  And it sure wasn't acting like a wolf.

Hoping she wasn't about to get bitten, Mara held out her hand, speaking in a soft voice.  "Hello there.  Where'd you come from?"

Jovan quite liked Mara as well and had been about to say something slightly naughty to her as well when he froze. He scented the dog approaching and he turned, keeping Lysael between him and the dog.

The creatures scent, mingled slightly with a faint scent of blood made him very nervous. He looked rather alarmed when Mara bent to touch it, "Mara! Careful! That is a very large wolf...dog...thing! With very large teeth!"

Inumisha jumped up putting her paws on Maras chest, then licked her face wildly. In thought for, which not many people can hear, she said. 'Its me!'
Inumisha wasnt sure if mara could her, so she just licked her. Narking, she looked at Lys and Jovan the barked happily.

Suddenly being turned loose and hidden behind, Lys blinked and glanced back at Jovan, a mildly confused look on his face.  Amusingly enough, his usually pale cheeks were still tinted red.  He backed up a few paces, watching the dog warily, and snickered when it planted its paws on Mara's chest and licked her face.

Mara wasn't amused.  She squealed and pushed the dog away, wiping at her face.  "Eww!"  She shook her head, wiped at her face again, and glared down at the dog.  "Don't do that!"  She hadn't heard the telepathic thought, and had no idea it was Inumisha.

"Err....here." Still standing behind Lysael, Jovan removed on hand from the males shoulder and dug around in a few of his pockets. He found a clean white handkerchief and presented it to Mara.

He couldn't understand the dog anymore then Mara could. But his nose twitched slightly. Something about it smelled familiar though he couldn't place it.

"Try backing away slowly and avoiding eye contact? Maybe it will go away?"

Inumisha whined after this happened. She looked down at the ground in a sorry manner. Glancing up at them, her eyes quickly changed color back to her normal eye back to her demon dog eyes.
Looking to lys and jovan she "smiled"(or at least a dog smile) 'Mabyone of them will hear my thoughts. She walked over and sat infront of lys and jovan. 'Its me. Can either of you understand me in this form?'

Taking the handkerchief from Jovan, Mara wiped her face again, and then held it out away from her, wrinkling her nose in disgust.  "It's friendly enough, maybe it belongs to someone around here?  But it looked like it was following us..."  She glanced down at the dog.  "Don't you have a home to go to?"  Of course she wasn't expecting an answer, but she'd talked to the dogs her father owned.  And most of them understood a few words.

It's me.  Can either of you understand me in this form?  Lysael stopped snickering immediately, froze in place and shut his eyes.  He'd only caught a few words, but that voice sounded familiar.  It was hard to hear telepathic thoughts, since losing his horn had cut him off from his magic, but...  He looked around, and finally stared straight at Inumisha.

Whoever had spoken couldn't have been more than a few feet away, else Lys wouldn't have heard them.  He knew Mara couldn't use magic, and since that voice had a distinctly feminine quality to it, it couldn't have been Jovan either.  And there wasn't anyone else close enough.  The dog...

Lysael pointed at it suddenly.  "That's no dog.  I don't know who or what it is, but it's not a dog."

Inumisha barked hapilly. 'Lys! You can understand me! Its me. Inumisha!' Inumisha bagan runing in a circle. She was glad that someone heard her, but then again not many people could. She then looked back at Mara. 'Tell her its me.'

At Lysael's comment, the painter pressed closer to the unicorn. Not that he figured the slender boy could do much if the large wolf thing felt like attacking. But any shield was better then none.

The creature didn't seem like it meant any harm, but it still had the slight coppery scent of blood around it. And dogs just made him nervous.

"It seems excited about something. You don't think someone tracked us from the inn do you?"
Title:

Lysael shook his head.  "I don't think so.  I mean...  He glanced sideways at Jovan and Mara.  "I guess I'm the only one who can hear her?  ...Great.  I can't even hardly understand her.  If I was still..." He shut his mouth suddenly, not willing to say anything else.  "Look, she's talking, telepathically.  I can hear her voice, but I can't make out the words."  He sighed in annoyance.

Really, Lys had no clue why she was following them.  "I think she knows us.  I have no idea who she is. I couldn't hear a name.  I...it's too hard to hear.  Like trying to hear someone talking from far away.  I can't hear telepathy that well anymore, it's too hard.  It hurts..."  His voice trailed off as he rubbed at the side of his head with one hand.  Why was he saying this much?

He shut his eyes again, clapping his hands over his ears (though it did no good, really) and backed away from the dog.  "Stop it...shut UP!"  Lysael yelled suddenly and swayed as if he was going to fall.  He couldn't hear enough to get a coherent message, and it hurt his head, just trying to hear her.

Silence, finally.  He blinked, feeling somewhat dizzy.  "Inumisha?"  He'd gotten the name, this time.  And now, it made sense, why he was getting such a headache from this.  Inumisha was a demon, Lys was a unicorn.  Their races weren't exactly compatible.

Mara just stared at the dog, feeling relieved and surprised at the same time.  "Inumisha?  Are you...?"  She stopped and shook her head.  "Can't you change back?"

Looking up at Mara, Inumisha tried to make her voice stronger for Lys to understand. 'Yes, but Id need to be taken to a secluded area...See...since im in this form.....' Inumisha looked over at Lys. ' Id have to change back into full fledged demon form, then back to my normal half-demon state.' Then she whimpered nervously. ' I would also need some new cloths. Seeing as though dogs don't need them, i lost then when i changed to this form. ' Inumisha looked back at Mara. 'That means Mara would be the only one to go with me when I change back.'

Jovan put on arm around the boy to steady him when he swayed, "Whoa there. Ya alright?"

His attention shifted back to the dog. That it was the strange girl from earlier didn't really make him feel much better, "What are you doing as a dog?" The rabbit gave a small awkward laugh, "Well, guess you can't really answer that. Um..."

Suddenly he frowned, looking at the boy he was steading, "How do you know that's Inumisha?"
Title:
Post by: Anonymous on March 10, 2008, 12:14:03 PM
As Jovan slid an arm around him, Lys threw a grateful look to the boy.  "I'll be alright.  It's just...her magic doesn't work well with me."  He shook his head, trying to chase away the lingering ache.  "I can tell it's her. She feels the same as Inumisha, the voice matches.  She's gotta change back somehow, her telepathy is giving me a headache.  Demon magic hurts... me."  He'd changed track mid-sentence, inwardly cringing at how close he was getting to the topic of what he was.

Lysael heard her loud and clear this time.  Unfortunately.  Demon's magic, like telepathy, did not do well with unicorns.  He grabbed Jovan's shoulder, trying to keep himself upright.  If the first time had been like being yelled at from far away, this time was like being screamed at by someone standing right in front of him.  Comprehension came easily, but the force of the magic was so much greater.  His head hurt, like having a bad headache.

"Inu, please stop...you're hurting me."  The last bit came out more as a whimper than anything else, and Lysael did not care, so long as she stopped and found another way to communicate.  It might have been easier if he just said he was a unicorn, and demon magic, any kind of demon magic, hurt.  But then they'd ask why he didn't have a horn.  'I killed a man with it, and it broke.' Yeah.  That'd go over well.

So Lys settled for leaning on Jovan's shoulder and waiting for the world to stop tilting and spinning.  Might help if he told Mara what Inumisha needed.  Then she'd be back to talking normally, and not giving him a headache that made him want to just lay down and sleep until his vision uncrossed.  Ugh. "Mara...She needs clothes.  And somewhere private to change."  Yes, far away from him, because Light knew, Lys never wanted to see a naked body again, no matter how long he lived.

Mara nodded.  "Alright.  I'm sure we can borrow a room when we find an inn to stop for breakfast at.  I've got a few extra dresses in my pack."  She glanced at Inumisha.  "I'm pretty sure we're about the same size."

Inumisha nodded. Then she took off. When she came bck she had herbs on her muzzle lightly tied down. Looking up at lys apologeticaly, she nudged his leg. Using telepethy one last time she said. "Here, this'll help ease the pain.Inumisha gave the same puppy dog smile.

Regardless of the reason, Jovan was always happy when attractive people clung to him. So he was more then happy to keep supporting Lysael, "Hey, it's alright. While the girls see about changing Inumisha back, why don't we get you some food?"

He gave Mara an apologetic smile, "I would say you should take him, but I don't think it's quite as proper for me to help Inumisha change back. And I know my dresses wouldn't fit her." His grin widened and he winked at her, "But I shall promise to make up for my ignoring ya with dinner. Maybe a few candles."

When the demon returned with herbs on tied to her nose, Jovan eyed them warily, "Um, what are those? How did you get them? And how did they get tied to your nose?"

Something about the girl just didn't seem to add up. And it made him uneasy. His grip tightened around Lysael and he was now regretting his suggestion to leave Mara alone with the dog.

"Maybe we should make sure Inumisha gets some privacy at the inn. I'm sure it's a bit awkward changing forms. And I'm sure Lysael would prefer Mara's company over mine..."
Title:
Post by: Anonymous on March 11, 2008, 01:04:20 AM
Lysael closed his slowly, grateful that he could at least get a break from the way his vision was crossing that way.  It made his balance a little worse, though, so he shifted his grip on Jovan, wrapping his arm around the other male's shoulders, hoping he wouldn't mind.  And getting breakfast sounded great.  If he could just keep his balance until they got there.  Of course, with his eyes closed, he didn't see the way Mara just grinned at the way he was clinging to Jovan.

When Inumisha came back, with a bundle of herbs, Lys shook his head, then winced and clung tighter to Jovan when she spoke.  He didn't take herbal remedies, no matter who fixed them.  For the ten years he'd had his magic, he'd relied on it so extensively that trusting anyone else to help him with recovering was extremely difficult.  Besides, he just needed to rest and he'd be fine.  "I just...need to rest somewhere quiet.  ...Just leave me be."

When Jovan made the comment about him preferring Mara's company over his, Lysael tightened his grip.  He was just fine with Jovan.  Somehow, he'd stopped minding the rabbit's company.  The flirting he was still not sure about, but he certainly didn't feel uneasy around him.

Mara sighed.  They were all getting worked up over this, herself included.  She didn't like the effect Inumisha's telepathy was having on Lysael.  "Alright, wait.  Let's just get to the inn, so Inumisha can change back.  We can ask questions and get answers then."  She walked over to the demon dog, and patted her head.  "Let's go."

Inumisha hung her head as she walked, causing the fresh herbs to fall to the ground. Her white tail was no longer wagging...Instead, it just hung there...She felt bad that her telepathy hurt him. This made her want to change into a human...permanently. She then wouldnt beable to hurt anyone.
As they were walking, the inn slowly came into sight. But Inumisha was still debating on what to do. She did look a hell of alot prettier in her human form....But shed lose all her powers...She could change herself human, and still beable to turn into a white dog that looked like a wolf....but that would be all...she'd have no powers. Maby shed tell Mara to see what she thought.....Yeah....Maby

It was a little slow having to help support Lysael, but the inn hadn't been that far away. And the scent of the food cooking was making his belly rumble. Even tasteless gruel was sounding pretty darn good at that point. And getting to put his hands all over Lysael was improving the day. Even in the less the wonderful circumstances.

When Inumisha wilted, walking along like some abused puppy, Jovan felt a twinge of guilt. Though it was only a small twinge. He felt bad for hurting her feelings, but at the same time the things she did just didn't seem to add up right.

Sighing, his free hand came up to rub the bridge of his nose. Today was turning out to be far less fun then he had hoped. But there was still hope. And maybe food would improve his mood.

The inn was relatively empty at this point of the day, most people having already eaten and gone off to work. Jovan led Lysael over to a table close by the fire, only rather reluctantly letting him go so he could take a seat.

He flopped onto the bench next to him, yawning, "What's the plan now?"
Title:

Lysael was beginning to rather like Jovan's company.  And, even though he'd only grabbed onto to the rabbit because he was the closest at the time, he wasn't minding how Jovan was supporting him now.  Yeah, Jovan was alright, even with the flirting, he decided.  Part of him still thought he was being stupid, that Jovan was a guy, and he shouldn't be tolerating the rabbit's close proximity, or his flirting.  Lys was mostly ignoring that voice now.

When he glanced behind them and saw Inumisha following them and looking, quite literally, like a kicked puppy, he sighed.  It wasn't his fault...nor was it hers, really.  Maybe they could figure out another way for her to communicate in that form.

Sitting down, he realized his vision had uncrossed, and it didn't feel like the floor was tilting and spinning anymore.  There was still a lingering ache in the back of his head, though. That was alright.  It'd pass quickly enough.  Hearing Jovan's question he shrugged, then paused as a thought hit him.  When would their paths part?  Hopefully not any time soon.  He was pretty sure Jovan and Inumisha's presences were what was delaying Mara from lecturing him like the three-year old he'd acted last night.

Mara led Inumisha in, patting the demon dog's head.  She paid the manager, a cheerful looking older man, for a room.  As they walked down the hall, she glanced at Inumisha.  "Oh, stop looking like that will you?  Whatever it is about your magic that affects Lys that way isn't your fault.  He's weird. Magic affects him strangely sometimes, I've seen it.  He's just strange.  And he won't explain it to me either.  So don't look so upset."

looking at her, she made a half hearted bark. Then transformed back. Soon, she turned back into her half demon form. She glanced at Mara then looked at the ground. Instead of asking for an outfit, Inumisha said a spell, putting her in a somewhat elegant dress.
"Thank you Mara." She looked at her enderingly. "Tell Lys....." She paused. "Never mind." Smiling, she was trying to get ready to ask Mara the question lingering in her head.
Sighing, Inumisha looked to her side and said. "Do you think I should give up my powers?"
Even though it didnt sound like a very seriouse question, to Inumisha it was.

Outside wiht the boys,a man walked up. He looked like a samurai looking for people came in. He had black hair tied back in a pony tale and bore two katana, showing that he was a higher ranking samurai.
The man waked up to the front desk and talked to the clerk.

Signaling for the owner, Jovan grinned over at Lysael, "How about we get some breakfast? I'm much better at seduction on a full stomach."

The rabbit was having quite a good time with Mara and Lysael. And he loved being around people. His nomadic tendencies just tended to make it hard to stay around the same people for long.

The painter pulled his bright bandanna off his white hair, shaking it loose. He ran his fingers through it a few times, trying to fix it a little, "Have you and Mara known each other long? You two seem really close."

Despite himself, Lysael couldn't help but smile a little at Jovan's comment.  He was enjoying the rabbit's company now.  The question about Mara made him pause and think.  "Ah..I've known her for about a few months now.  Some little village north of here, I can't remember the name...we met there, and she's tagged along since.  She's like an annoying sister sometimes."  He scowled and leaned forward.  "She's nosy sometimes."

He relaxed, and sighed.  "It's not that I don't like her.  I trust her an' all, but she pries into my business too much sometimes."

Mara tilted her head to one side, furrowing her brow.  "Give up your powers?  Why?  Because of what happened with Lys?  Or...that guy?"  She sighed.  "I already told you, it's not your fault.  Lysael reacts weird to magic.  And that guy... Well, yeah, there's people out there who'll use others because of their magic, their looks, or whatever, but there's nothing you can do about them.  Just avoid them as best you can.  It's no reason to give them up."

She put a hand on Inumisha's shoulder and squeezed gently.  "Besides, what if you do give them up?  There may come a time when you need them, to protect yourself, or someone else.  I can't use magic, but if I could, I wouldn't give it up.  Because with that kind of power, yeah, maybe some people would want me to use that power for them only, but with that power, I could protect myself.  And my friends."  She smiled kindly at Inumisha.  "You see what I mean?"

"Sister, eh? Interesting." Jovan grinned widely at Lysael. Before he could add anything, the owner arrived.

Lysael shrugged.  "Yeah.  She treats me like a little brother sometimes.  It's annoying, but I guess I've gotten used to it."  When the manager approached, Lys answered without hesitation. "Same thing as him, but no eggs, either.  Umm... Mara's not picky." He glanced sideways at Jovan, trying to think. "I dunno about Inumisha."

When another man suddenly put his hands on their shoulders, Lysael jerked, startled by the sudden contact.  He really didn't like it when people snuck up on him like that.  ...Wait.  Come with him?  Oh...heck no.  This guy, whoever he was, wasn't dressed in soldier's attire, and he didn't even know who he was, or what he wanted.  Lys wasn't going anywhere.  "What do you want?"  He snapped.  Aggravated?  Oh yes.  Couldn't have a peaceful morning at all, it seemed.

Mara grinned back at Inumisha.  "You're welcome.  Now come on, let's get some breakfast.  I don't know about you, but I'm hungry."  Coming into the main room, her eyes widened as she noticed the man talking to Lys and Jovan.  Had they been followed after all?

Hurrying up to the table, she touched the man's shoulder lightly, and licked her lips nervously.  "Excuse me, sir, but what do you want with my friends here?  Is something wrong?"

Jovan had started to reply to Lysael when the man's hand came down on his shoulder. Her gave a high pitched, animistic squeal. He whirled around, his heart thudding against his chest.

Then he heard what the man asked. The rabbit frowned. What was it with crazy people today? And what was this guy wearing? He was rather glad when Mara arrived.

He crossed his arms over his chest, "I am not going anywhere with you."

"The man frowned. I am investigating in a murder." The man said. "My name is Ryu Yakuza." He showed them his legal papers, showing that he was an investigater. "If you would please come with me, i just need to ask a few questions. " Ryu frowned. "You said something about Inumisha? Do you know her?"

Inumisha's eyes widened as he stated his name. "R-ryu..." Inumisha then quickly took off outside. "I thought he was dead!?"

Lysael froze for just a second.  He wasn't all that paranoid, it just liked to strike at odd times.  Like now.  But...that was three years ago, and in Serendipity, not Adela.  So, there was no reason for them to be looking for him now.  Guilty consciences didn't always listen to logic though.  Aside from flinching a second time, Lys didn't react to the man's words.

"I'm not going anywhere.  You can ask your questions right here."  He glared at the man, hoping he'd do just that, or better yet, go away.  "And I don't know anything about a murder, so you're wasting your time."  He just hoped Ryu didn't try to grab him and haul him outside.  It wouldn't be pleasant.

As soon as he said 'murder', Mara knew what this was about.  She shook her head.  "I'm sorry sir, none of us have heard anything about a murder."  Of course she wasn't going to blab about Inumisha, especially after the man asked specifically about her.  "I...we just met her this morning."

Speaking of which, said demon had just run off.  ...Mara's eyes widened. Had they just been...abandoned?  This really wasn't looking good.

"So you didnt hear of the murder at the inn...?" He said. "Thank you. "He looked around.  "He looked at Lys. "Dont worry, you arent any suspects. I saw you leaving the direction of the inn. I thought you might have seen something.
Inumisha stood outside the inn. Tears were streaming down her face. 'B-but Ryu died....' Inumisha thought. 'Whats going on?' Inumisha thought for a couple of moments. She knew that she couldn't just leave them in there by themselves. Sighing, Inumisha went back inside and stood infront of Ryu. "Hello Ryu....."
Ryu looked at Inumisha. "Hey there." He let go of the two boys shoulders. "Oh god, I am so glad your safe!" He hugged her tightly.

"Ummm...what?" Jovan looked really confused. First, there was this strange man, showing them strange papers. And he knew Inumisha. Who had run away. But now was back.

He was really not liking where his day had gone. It had been looking so nice. And then it had spiraled down the crazy track.

"What is going on? You're going on about asking us questions, rather out of the blue. And we aren't suspects. But you know her?" He nodded his head in the demon's direction.

Maybe if he closed his eyes and wished really hard, it would all go away.

Lysael sighed, and rested his head against the table.  "I've had enough of today.  N'more, please."  He muttered quietly.  Maybe it was some crazy dream?  That'd be nice.  Well, except for the fact that, if this was a dream, Jovan was part of it.  And Lysael rather liked having another person around that he was actually comfortable with.

He let out a quiet sigh, and just hoped everything would just settle down.  All this fuss today, and he hadn't even had breakfast yet.  No wonder he was beginning to feel a little worn out.

Mara was somewhat surprised Lys's earlier attitude hadn't gotten them all in trouble, but she was grateful it hadn't.  But now...glancing at the two boys, she shook her head, and sat down next to Jovan.  She wanted to know the answers to Jovan's questions, too.

"Actually," He looked at Jovan. "She's guilty.." Ryu pointed at Inumisha. "I followed you from the inn after Inumisha dissapeared into the forest. I thought she might return to you guys, and sure enough." Ryu smiled. "I didnt mean to shake you up or anything."
Inumisha looked at everyone. "This is Ryu Yakuza... He's my fiance...."

When Mara took a seat next to her, Jovan turned to wrap his arms around her, pressing his face into her shoulder mumbling, "Please please just let me have breakfast. Before more weirdness happens."

He didn't like this day so far. Well, the Mara and Lysael parts were pretty nice.  But the rest of it he wouldn't mind setting on fire.

After his small moment he straightened and fixed the strangely dressed couple with a dark look, "You know what? My patience is wearing a little thin. I just want some breakfast and hopefully some relatively pleasant conversation while I eat it. Instead, there has been one bizarre thing after another.

"You're Inumisha's fiance. Who has been following her, which by the way, is a little creepy. And you know that she killed that guy at the inn, but you still felt the urge to rudely bother us with questions about it."

Jovan knew he was being a little snappy, but at this point he was cranky and hungry. And really didn't care. And was about ready to kill the next person himself who kept him from his food.

Which Ryu might have scared away. As they had never gotten to order. Sweet Blessed Toes of Kirial! Today was off to a bad start. Maybe he should just get a room here and go back to bed.

Though he would have to make sure Mara and Lysael came. Wouldn't do for them to go. He was rather enjoying meeting them. And the mental image of them in a large bed with him did help cheer him up a bit.

Lysael sat up suddenly, looking at Inumisha and Ryu.  "Fiance?"  He shut his eyes briefly, then glared at Inumisha.  "You were flirting with me outside the inn earlier this morning."  He scooted over on the bench, pressing a little closer to Jovan.

Okay.  So Ryu and Inumisha were engaged.  But...why had she run out when she saw him?  It was beginning to confuse Mara.  And now....she agreed with Jovan.  Maybe, just maybe, things would settle down now.  And they could have breakfast in peace.

"Well....Ryu died..." Inumisha said looking at Lys. "I didnt know that he was back....." Tears formed in her eyes. "I ran because I thought I was hillusinating....I went outside for to think...." Inumisha looked at Ryu, her hand on his chest. "I seriously thought you were dead...." The tears fell from her eyes. Inumishas hand fell from his chest as she left to the room at the inn.
Ryu looked at her, very worried. "Its not her fault..." He looked at Lys." She didnt know that I was alive again..." Lookking over at Jovan he said. "I questioned you...because I didnt think it was her...." He smiled halfly. Then looked back at Lys. "Inumisha is very sweet...she was probably flirting without knowing it. She literaly an innocent." A very worried look appeared on his face. "At the inn, what she did, wasnt her doing." He took a seat. "Years ago, Inumisha was captured by a demon named Nimari. He used a spell on her, taking controll of her body and heart. He pretty much used her as a puppet.... He murderd numerouse demons and humans with her..."
He looked towards the room Inumisha left to, then sighed. " Nimari eventually killed me...using her. Up untill recently, I was dead. A preistess revived me. And told me that I needed to save her.... My only question is... What would a Princes, who can defend herself really well, need saving from."

(OOC: I can't say I have a problem with it ^.^)

"You know, I really don't think it was your place to just tell us that." Jovan was really pretty sure he didn't like this new guy, "I think that was Inumisha's story."

He wrapped one arm around Lysael as he leaned his shoulder against Mara. It was a little surprising how comfortable he felt with them already. Considering he hadn't known them very long.

With his free hand he waved the owner back over, he needed food. Then he frowned, what Ryu said sinking in, "Wait...what? She's a Princess? Of where? And you were dead? I think I'm rather lost as to what's going on here...and..ummm...."

The artist trailed off as the owner approached. He repeated his order for a vegetarian breakfast. The man then turned to the others, asking if they wanted anything.

((OOC: Please do.  The more, the merrier.))

Lysael just leaned a little bit more against Jovan, not even blinking as the rabbit wrapped an arm around his shoulders.  That little story only reinforced the belief that demons were bad news, and not to be hung around.  And he'd never heard of anyone with the power to bring back the dead.  It wasn't natural.  He shuddered.

Mara was silent for a moment.  Yeah, some of that sounded pretty personal.  And then there was the whole 'I was dead' thing.  She was beginning to feel like she was in one of those crazy stories her father used to tell.  Oh boy...

Directing her attention to the owner, she smiled politely, if a little tiredly.  "Whatever's being served, sir.  I'm not picky.  Um...Lys is vegetarian, anything without meat or eggs is fine for him."  She glanced over at said teen...he really looked worn out.

Ryu frowned more. "I do apologyze." Then, without a word or somthing to tell Inumisha, he left the inn...
Inumisha watched Ryu leave the inn. She had a small urge to go after him, but she was afraid. Tears rolled down her face. She didn't know why she was crying like this....after all, she wanted Ryu alive for so long. Deciding to eat, Inumisha left the room. 'I'll just ome back in here to eat...Maby a warm drink of sake as well.' She thought.
Leaving the room, she stood next to Mara and waited for the person to finish taking the other orders. Inumisha didn't even attempt to glance over at them. They were probably mad at her. With good reason.

The owner finished the orders and vanished off into the kitchen. Joven began absently playing with the ends of Lysael's hair. He rested his head against Mara's shoulder, "Do you understand what just happened?"

The strange, rude man had left. Though he was still confused as to what in the nine hells had just happened. And he wasn't sure he really wanted to know.

When Inumisha returned and stood next to Mara, the rabbit didn't say anything at first. He wasn't sure what she was going to do and he didn't want to set her off.
Title:
Post by: Anonymous on March 14, 2008, 12:35:48 AM
Lysael didn't even blink as Jovan started messing with his hair.  He was far too comfortable leaning against the rabbit to object to his actions.  And, after Ryu left, Lys just let his eyes drift shut and shrugged.  He wasn't even going to try to understand what was going on. "Nope..."

At least his head wasn't aching as much.  Thank the Light for his rapid healing.  Though...he still wouldn't have minded crawling back into bed for a few hours.

Mara just shook her head, smiling faintly when Jovan leaned against her again.  "I don't understand either.  That story...it sounds like those wild tales my father used to tell in the taverns."  She brushed a lock of brown hair out of her face, and sighed.  "Maybe things will make more sense once we've eaten?"

Inumisha was talked to by another person, asking what she'd like. Inumisha qiuckly replied. "Tofu, habachi, white rice, and some sake please." The woman nodded and quicky took her order to be made.  Now, all Inumisha had to do was wait for her food.
Title:
Post by: Anonymous on March 14, 2008, 10:25:33 AM
At Inumisha's order, Jovan looked rather puzzled. He had never even heard of most of that food. But it probably went with the girl's odd style of dress.

He felt quite happy, curled up between Mara and Lysael. It was very relaxing. And Lysael had soft hair, "Today sounds like some drunkin' story from a tavern. Maybe today is one of those best spent in bed days."
Title:
Post by: Anonymous on March 14, 2008, 05:27:23 PM
Lysael chuckled at Jovan's drunken tale comment.  That sounded about right.  And the comment about just spending the day in bed sounded pretty good too.  All the weirdness and stress had worn him out.  And his head still ached, and he didn't feel like dealing with more people today.  "I wouldn't mind spending the rest of the day in bed.  Don't wanna deal with anything else today."

Mara rolled her eyes at the two boys.  "Well, you two can spend the rest of the bed.  I'm checking out the marketplace after I eat."  She kind of hoped Jovan would stay with Lysael.  She was a little surprised at how quickly the teen had gotten used to the rabbit, but if he was fine with Jovan's attention, then Mara hoped they'd become friends.  Lysael could certainly use another friend.

Not that she minded Jovan's flirting or anything.

Inumisha's order came to her, and she took it back to the room. Since Inumisha was from japan, she decided to order her favorite meal. It always seemed to calm her down.

Jovan grinned up at Mara, "Well, I suppose I'll just have to content myself with having dinner with you." He couldn't help it. He enjoyed flirting with both of them far to much to not.

His fingers moved from Lysael's hair to scratch the back of his neck, "So, does that mean you want to go to bed with me lovely? I normally like to at least go on one date first."

Chuckling he slid his hand up to scratch along the back of Lysael's head, "Though I'm not sure I could actually sleep after all the excitement this morning. Wouldn't mind doing a bit of painting though. As I have two rather lovely subjects with me."
Title:
Post by: Anonymous on March 14, 2008, 11:50:57 PM
Mara smiled and shook her head, laughing softly.  He was certainly quite the flirt.  "Well...I suppose I'll take you up on that offer."  Noticing Inumisha leaving, she sighed.  Hopefully everything would be alright with her.

Lysael was already half asleep, feeling rather relaxed with Jovan and Mara.  And the way the rabbit was scratching along his neck and head was nice.  Kinda soothing, too.  It was surprising, really, how the anti-social teen, who usually ran away screaming when men got touchy like this, was just leaning against Jovan and enjoying this attention.  Almost as if he was asleep.

But he wasn't.  And even so, it took a few seconds for Jovan's words to sink in.  The teen sat bolt upright, gracing Jovan with the most shocked look he could muster.  "Wh-WHAT?!"  And his blush had returned.  With a vengeance.  As evidenced by the fact that he was now practically glowing red.

Oddly enough, he wasn't at all scared or anything.  Just...shocked.  He'd meant going to bed and sleeping.  Not...that.
Title:
Post by: Anonymous on March 14, 2008, 11:59:18 PM
Jovan couldn't help laughing at the boy's response. The teen never seemed to disappoint him, "Relax. I was just teasing you." He grinned at him, "Unless you want too. Then I might be able to be talked into it."

He snuggled closer to Mara, still grinning wildly, "Is he always this fun to tease?"
Title:
Post by: Anonymous on March 15, 2008, 01:26:06 AM
Lysael wasn't too happy, being flirted with was one thing, but this...being teased like this just irritated him.  He slouched little, no longer leaning on Jovan. ...Wait, what?  Lys turned suddenly, glaring at the rabbit.  "I am not interested.  What do you think I am, some kind of whore?"  He growled, and scooted away from the other boy.

Lys was good and pissed now.  Mostly at himself.  He hated it when his temper got the best of him.  He knew, really, that Jovan hadn't meant it that way, but no, he had to go and snap at the rabbit anyway.  Great.  There went his chance at actually having a good day.  And his chance at actually finding another friend.  Just great.

Mara giggled as Jovan snuggled against her.  And if Lysael hadn't exploded at that moment, she might have joined in the teasing.  As it was, she straightened up and peered around Jovan at the teen.  She'd seen him snap like this before...and he would go stomping out, only to return hours or even days later.  But...Lys hadn't moved at all after he'd scooted away.

Rather, he was just sitting there, staring at the tabletop.  She sighed.  And the morning had just started going well again, too.
Title:
Post by: Anonymous on March 15, 2008, 09:20:47 AM
Jovan blinked at the boy's response, "Hey now. I'm sorry. I didn't mean it like that." He leaned forward, his expression concerned, "I didn't mean to cross a line. I apologize."

The artist just hoped that it was an easily backtrackable boundry crossing. He didn't want to teenager to stay mad at him.

"And I in no way think you're a whore, slut, tramp, trollop, ect."
Title:
Post by: Anonymous on March 15, 2008, 12:00:16 PM
Lysael slouched a little more as Jovan started talking.  He really felt guilty for exploding like that.  This was why he didn't let people get so close to him.  His temper flared at the worst of times, and he'd feel horribly guilty about it, sometimes even when they'd deserved it.

And Jovan didn't mean it.  Lys knew that.  Ugh.  And he wanted so badly to just scoot back over and lean against Jovan again, but now he felt so awkward and embarrassed by his own behavior.  The teen let out a sigh, and whispered quietly, "'m sorry."

Mara was kind of surprised.  Usually Lys would have left by now, but he was still sitting there.  Well...maybe everything would settle back down.
Title:
Post by: Anonymous on March 15, 2008, 12:07:31 PM
The rabbit reached over, hesitantly scratching at the back of Lysael's head again. The teenager seemed less angry, but Jovan didn't want to push it. He just gave him a lopsided grin, "Hey, nothing to apologize for. My fault."

The scratching got a bit faster, ruffling the back of his hair, "Forgive me?"
Title:
Post by: Anonymous on March 15, 2008, 12:38:07 PM
He still felt too awkward to scoot back over...it was as if his butt had frozen to the bench.  But Lys leaned into the touch, his eyes sliding shut as he relaxed some.  He just wanted to go back to leaning on Jovan, enjoying the rabbit's company, and forget this little incident.  "Yeah."  The teen's voice was so quiet, still embarrassed over the fuss, but now...he was beginning to relax.  And of course he forgave Jovan.
Title:
Post by: Anonymous on March 15, 2008, 12:47:17 PM
"Good!" Jovan kept scratching Lysael's hair. It was rather relaxing sitting like this. He smiled over at Mara, giving her a wink.

The owner choose that moment to return with their breakfast. It was a rather simple inn, and the food was equally simple. Oatmeal for the vegetarians and fried ham with eggs for Mara.

Despite the simple fare, Jovan was thrilled. He was starving. He moved his hand away from Lysael's hair and grabbed a spoon, "Finally!" His nose twitched in excitement, inhaling the warm scent before he dug in.
Title:

He'd hoped for some fruit.  But at this point, Lysael was simply happy to have some breakfast, finally.  And he also seemed to have come unstuck from the bench, as he scooted back over to Jovan before digging in.

Mara smiled as Jovan winked at her, glad that Lys had settled down.  She thanked the owner as he brought their food, and then she too, dug in.  And after this...the marketplace.  She was looking forward to poking around there, and maybe finding a little something for herself.  She just hoped Lys and Jovan continued to get along.
Title:
Post by: Anonymous on March 15, 2008, 10:28:20 PM
If Jovan had his way, they would continue getting along. It was rather relaxing and nice to be around Mara and Lysael. He was planning on sticking with them until they got tired of him.

Their company even made mediocre porridge appealing. In between bites he turned his attention to Mara, "What were you planning on getting at the Market?"

When Lysael moved closer, Jovan shifted his weight, his leg moving to press against Lysael's, enjoying the contact.
Title:
Post by: Anonymous on March 15, 2008, 11:33:54 PM
Pausing for a moment, Mara shrugged.  "I kinda just wanted to check out the marketplace.  We only got here yesterday, and this is my first time in Ketra."  She smiled at him.  "I wouldn't mind getting something pretty for myself, though."

Lysael wasn't particularly interested in the marketplace himself.  He'd been through Ketra before.  And he wasn't too keen on following Mara around for hours while she explored the market.  The teen let out a quiet yawn, blushing a little as he did so.  He wasn't that tired, really.

A quick look around the room brought something else to his attention.  Where had Inumisha crept off to?  After all the fuss, Lys hadn't really expected her to disappear.
Title:
Post by: Anonymous on March 15, 2008, 11:41:04 PM
Jovan grinned, "Maybe something new to wear when I take you out to dinner?" At Lysael's yawn he reached over and ruffled the teen's hair, "Why don't we take a nap while she's shopping?"

He noticed the boy looking around and he glanced around as well, "Whatever happened to that girl?" She had ordered that weird food, then had vanished.
Title:
Post by: Anonymous on March 16, 2008, 12:24:27 AM
Mara grinned right back at him.  "Maaaybe."  She really did enjoy Jovan's company.  At the rabbit's question, she glanced around.  "She went to her room a few minutes ago.  Guess she hasn't come back down."

Lysael looked over at Jovan and smiled a little.  "That sounds like a good idea."
Title:

Inumisha was siting in the room staring off into space. Remembering her dirty dishes, she left the room. She glance over at the boys and Mara then when up to the waitress who had served her. "Here are the dishes... And could i possibly get more sake?"
Taking the dishes and nodded. 'Great...' Inumisha sighed as she plopped onto a seat next to mara.
Title:
Post by: Anonymous on March 16, 2008, 08:47:25 AM
Jovan's grin got a little wider at Mara's answer, "Really then? I shall just have to hope then, wont I?" He finished off the last of his oatmeal, licking the spoon clean. He had devoured the food rather quickly.

"Well pretty boy, when you're done I can talk to the owner and see about getting a room. Because a nap sounds rather nice." When Inumisha flopped down next to Mara, he blinked in surprise. He had thought she had vanished, "Ah. Are you okay? Um...what happened to your fiance?"
Title:
Post by: Anonymous on March 16, 2008, 01:21:51 PM
Finishing the last of the porridge, Lysael nudged the bowl away from him.  He was full, tired, and quite ready for a nap.  Leaning against Jovan, he let his head rest against the rabbit's shoulder.  "Yeah, a nap does sound nice."  He wouldn't mind just lazing around and talking, either.

Mara just giggled at Jovan.  Hopefully they could hang around Ketra for a good while, she was really enjoying Jovan's company.  She turned and smiled at Inumisha.  "We were wondering where you'd disappeared to.  You alright?"

Inumisha glanced over to Jovan. "He isnt my fiance anymore.....i think." Then looked to Mara." I guess I'm fine...." Inumisha had a forlorn grin on her face as her sake was brought to her. Inumisha poured the warm liquid into a sakazuki. She took a sip and her expression softened.

"Er...really? I'm...sorry?" Jovan really wasn't sure what one was supposed to say. Though whatever it was she was drinking made his nose burn. He shifted away from the scent, his nose twitching.

He gave Inumisha an awkward grin, "Why don't you try talking to him?"
Title:

Not her fiance anymore?  Oh boy.  Lysael sighed and closed his eyes.  He had no a clue what to say, and being a social recluse wasn't helping.  As Jovan shifted, the teen straightened up a bit, and then caught the smell too.  Ew.  "What is that stuff?"

Mara reached up and gently squeezed Inumisha's shoulder.  "What happened?  You guys seemed just fine a little while ago."
Title:

"This.... this is rice wine. Its actually really good." Inumisha said still smiling. "And, I cant talk to someone who isnt here. Besides....." Inumisha then got real quiet. She siped some more of the sake.
Title:
Post by: Anonymous on March 17, 2008, 06:22:43 AM
Jovan waited for her to finish the sentence. After a few moments of staring blankly at Inumisha, he gave a hesitant, "Besides...what?"

He felt this might be a mistake. Heading down this path might just lead farther into crazy. But it seemed like the right response.

He kept his nose turned away from her drink. It smelled unpleasantly potent. And that put him closer to Lysael, "Shouldn't you...err....you know....go after him?"

He glancer nerviously over at Mara, sending her a silent 'What do I do?'
Title:
Post by: Anonymous on March 17, 2008, 02:33:26 PM
He'd gotten used to the touching, the messing with his hair, and well...the attention he was getting from Jovan.  And it wasn't that he didn't like Inumisha, but the earlier craziness had been triggered by her, and Lys really didn't feel like going down the crazy trail again.

So he leaned on Jovan a bit more, resting his head against the rabbit's shoulder.  He'd like to go to the room already, have a nap...maybe a chat with Jovan.  Lys was a little surprised himself, how quickly he'd gotten attached to the rabbit.

Mara sighed.  "Well, shouldn't you go find him?  I wouldn't let my fiance just walk away like that."  Seeing Jovan's look, she just shrugged at him.  She wasn't quite sure of what to do either.
Title:

Inumisha sipped her sake a some more. Taking a large gulp," I am not sure if he's my fiance.... He could possibly be someone else....even if he does smell like grave soil......" She took another sip. "Why would I go after him anyway? After all....he followed me....." Her eyes were almost as cold as they where when she killed the manager, but this time, she wasnt in a trance, and she didnt intend on killing anyone. She just sat there....eyes now closed, sipping the sake.

Jovan pulled Lysael closer, resting his chin on top of the unicorn's head. He was rather confused. And, well, people coming back from the dead was just weird.

But Inumisha looked rather pissed off. And she was a little scary, "Well, um, I think that I'm feeling rather tired..." He yawned and gave an exaggerated stretch, "What do you say we go get a room Lysael?"

He didn't really want to get any more involved in the strange, frightening events that surrounded Inumisha. She smelled to much like a predatory, ful of blood and violence for his liking.
Title:
Post by: Anonymous on March 17, 2008, 06:32:38 PM
Lysael just relaxed, letting out a contented little sigh as he was pulled closer.    He nodded as Jovan spoke.  "Yeah.  I'm ready for a nap."

Get a room, indeed.  Mara turned away for a moment, hiding the grin on her face.  She didn't know if Jovan had intended for his remark to be taken that way, but she'd heard the innuendo in it.  And Lys was either ignoring it, or hadn't picked up on it.

Anyway.  She looked back at the boys, and smiled at them.  "You two go enjoy your nap."  Maybe, when Lysael finally wanted to leave Ketra, Jovan would come with them.  It'd certainly be nice.  She stood slowly.  "I'm heading off to the marketplace now.  If you want, you can tag along with me, Inumisha."
Title:

Inumisha smiled like an innocent child. "Sure..." She said."Id be glad to tag along." Inumisha grabbed the sake bottle and paidfor it. Promising to bring it back. She stood up and smiled back at the two boys. "You two are rediculuse. And i mean thatin a good way." Inumishas arm wrapped around Maras neck. "Lets let them sleep and we go shopping." Inumisha drank the last of the sake and frowned. "I think I'm going to make my own sake... It smells better than this stuff...."

'Hello ladies,' called the drunken skeleton, swaggerring over abottle of an unusual ferment.

Normally Dave the skeleton didn't need to eat or drink but alcohol was an exception. Especially now that he was nolonger in Necromantia. Unfortunatly for him Darkness grabbed him on the shoulder and pulled him back.

'Sorry Ladies, but I don't think you want the type of love Dave here gives. It tends to leave you dead,' Darkness brushed his hand against his thigh and offered it up to them, 'I'm Darkness of Necromantia.'

He gave a low bow, pulled up a chair and crossed his legs. Truly, it was lucky he was so dark, otherwise they would have noticed his nakedness.

The rabbit's eye twitched slightly, his body torn between the urge to freeze in terror and hope he wouldn't be noticed and the need to run like mad.

Today was not a good day. Not at all. He opened his mouth to say something, but all that came out was a soft, high pitched whimpering sound.

"But there is no point if ones already dead. No?" Inumisha said. Then, looking at Mara she said." Are we ready to go?"

'Tell your rabbit to stop pannicking. We mean no harm and he is too small for food anyhow,' said Darkness, grinning, 'he's cute, what did you say his name is?'

Darkness stretched his arm out and petted the rabbit. It's fur was soft beneath his fingers, much like the creature he had had as a kid.

Darkness considered the girl's question, 'I don't think being dead bother's Dave. I don't exactly know HOW he drinks or enjoys himslef but he manages it.'

'Do you people mind if I join you?.... DAVE! Don't touch her.'

Dave had gone over to the bar mistress and was about to stroke cheek. He stalked back to Darkness, grumbling about never having any fun.

'You can go to the whorehouse later, or why don't you go pick up some deadbeat from the gutter. Sorry again, he should not have come with me.'

Inumisha smiled, no problem. "In fact, we were planing on going to the market, if you'd like to come, then im going to need some company after they leave." Her smile was bright. And yes, she noticed the nakedness, she though to herself. 'Where the hell are his clothes?'

[OOC: Darkness has never been seen properly so he has no idea if he is male or female. The only thing that makes him identify with males is that he is attracted to females. He is the Image of Darkness, the oposite to light (where black is only a lack of light). Dave is an NPC by the way so feel free to g-mod him.]

He noticed the girl looking at him. He wondered what she saw.

'I don't like clothes. Tell me, am I male or female?' he loved asking this question, mainly because it confused people.

He didn't really like the idea of bringing Dave with him but there was not much of an option. Undead: they are the same as children. They always acted with greed, lust and never thought of the repercussions.

Inumisha was a little startled by the question. But she quickly recovered her composure and said as truthfuly and honestly as possible. "Truthfully, I dont know"
Leaving Mara, she walked over to him. "And I wouldnt beabke to figure out..." She had a small confused look on her face.

Darkness grinned at her confusion. 'Good answer, you'de be surprised how many people skirt around it.'

Ello, she came over to him, trying to get a closer look. It was too good an opportunity to miss. He came closer to her, still grinning. He reached out and slapped her on the arse. The folds in her pants were surprisingly loose. She was VERY attractive.

[OOC: Sorry]

'You've got a good figure under those clothes.'

Inumisha jumped a little, but soon blushed. Her face was now hot pink. Then without thinking she said. "Then maby you like to accompany me to my room after I go shopping for supplies." There was a look of excitment upon her face as Dave walked up behind her to try to do the same, to be invited to her room.
Title:

Going back to her was definitely worth shopping. If he hadn't been brought up as a male, Darkness would easily have gone shopping. He especially liked hastling traders about their knives. He liked knives but it was hard to carry one on him when he didn't wear a belt.

Darkness was shocked. He had not thought she would go for Dave. He was a bit...bony. Hey that was great, so he got to share.

Inumisha was a little unnerved by Dave, so she moved away from him. Getting ready to leave, she held her hand out to him. "Ready when you are." Her eyes danced around his face, and her fangs enlarged, only a little. "Then well go to my room."

He took her hand and foloowed her out the door.
'So what's your name or shall I just call you Princess?'
He glanced over his shoulder. Dave was grinning, eyeing off a young girl of about 16.
'Do you mind if dave kills someone? He's going to do it sooner or later and it's better if he get's it out of his system.'

'AAAAAAAAAAAARG!'
Too late, Dave had killed the girl.
'Quick, you grab the girl and I'll get Dave.'
He stormed over to Dave and pulled off his arm.
'If you want it back come with me, if you don't I'll box your head in!'
A large man came striding over. Darkness glared at him and thw whole room went dark. The man got the picture and sat down.

Inumisha nodded and obeyed. Quickly doing as she was told, she stopped. 'What the hell am I doing?' She aske herself. Inumisha looked over call me inu or something. 'How'd he know?' She was confused now. Smiling looking down at the girl, who was now staining Inumisha put her hand on the girls head then crouhed down. Laying her on the ground.

{ooc: he doesn't know that inumisha is a princess, just an affectionate term.}

'You are carrying a dead body out of a bar.'

Maybe he should have given her Dave to take care of. She just seemed a little put off of him. He gave her the arm and dragged the dead girl the rest of the way. She was heavier than she looked. Damn Dave, getting the biggest breasted girl in the bar. He was going to turn her into a skeleton anyway, so what's the point.

'I'll meet you outside,' he turned to the patrons of the bar, 'nobody saw anything. If anybody says anything, I'll drive you insane and give you to the bone head.'

It was an empty threat but they were too scared to realise.

Inumisha hurried outside. Whispering a spell the body dissapeard. She looked at him and smiled, "Problem solved."
Holding out her arm, she said. "Shall we go to the market now?" She had a miscivous look upon her face. It was clear that she was ready for enythingg to happen.

Darkness was much more irritated than surprised that the body disappeared.

'What the hell did you do that for? Now he's going to have to kill and revive another one!'

What was with these people and the dead? In Necromantia, if a skeleton killed you it was a sign of affection. It meant they wanted to be with you. In Dave's case, that was very short term.

'Where's my body! I killed that girl fair and square,' Dave rounded on Darkness, 'You told your father that people always went missing in this life-hole. How many girls have I killed today? One, you've stopped me every time, you even said I had to get my kicks from the gutter.'

Dave stormed off.

'Great, just great. I just lost any control I had over him.'

He looked back at her, 'are you okay?'

Had she not looked so pathetic and small, he would have laughed. Instead he went back to her and pulled her close to his chest. Her hair smelt like life. It may have been a bit feminine but he really enjoyed hugging her.

'It's almost religious really. He kills them so he can revive them as skeletons. When I was a kid he told me he felt more alive as a skeleton. He once tried to kill me but it didn't work out too well.'

He grinned, 'it turns out I'm a lot harder to kill than he realised.'

He had a short memory of the time. He had been challenging Dave to attack him, he had wanted to see what it was like to die. Everything had gone black, no darker than black. It was not death though, just Darkness's magic turning back on itself. He had woken to see Dave passed out, his hands still clutching his head. The skeleton refused to say what happened to him but darkness guessed that he had been attacked by the...darkness within Darkness.

Inumisha hugged him back. Had none of this happened, she would have just gone up to the market. Now she just wanted to go to her room and lay down. Looking up at him, still hugging him, she asked sweetly. "Do you just want to go back to the room?"

Inumisha relaxed, something she could rarely do. She was glad that she had met him. Inumisha's shoulders drooped, showing her relaxtion. She, for once in her life, was actualy able to relax. She took her hair and put it over her shoulder, exposing the back of her neck. Small scars were revealed.

'My, someone's been through the wars,' he said, admiring her scars. He traced his fingers over the scars, tickling her back and playing with her hair. Slowly he traced them down to her waste. Her skin was so soft, so beautiful. He lent over her, gently laying her head against his chest, allowing her to hear the low rhythm of his heart.

Inumisha blushed abit. "Yeah....I've been through several over amy of years." (Idk, up to you)
Inumisha sat up quickly, the sound of her stomach woke her out of her trance. Her face turned red and she looked up at him. "S-sorry...." She scratched her head, then looked at him. She wanted to try his blood so badly, that apperantly it made her hugrey. She cuddled up next to him, and ran her finger acrossed his chest lightly. "You think I could...." Almost tempted not to say it, she asked, "Try your blood."

'Gorge yourself, my sweet,' he said, brushing his lips on her forehead.
He had had lovers before that enjoyed blood, apparently he had that affect on people. he tilted his neck, knowing from experience that the sweetest blood was found there. he wondered what his blood would taste like to her.

Inumisha looked at him for a second, then reached up to his neck. She took a breath, then bit down. Sucking on his neck, she drained his blood. There was, at first, a bitter tase, then came a sweet taste.

He had met vampires before that had been able to tell a lot about a person by their blood. They acted like it was an exotic wine, describing different palates and sensations the victim gave off, 'what do you taste my princess?'

He smiled, it was an enjoyable sensation having a woman drain you. It was so intimate, soo erotic and the pain just added to the excitement. He groaned with pleasure as he held the back of her head.

Inumisha continued to drain him of his blood. when she heard his question, she didnt know how to reply to it. All she could think about was the scent of it. Any time sh ehad drained the blood of her victims, the scent of their blood was copper like, and tasted of newly made, cooled metal. But his....
"Roses" Were the words she muttered, quickly going back to feeding. She tightened her bite, allowing more blood to be free. She felt his hend on her head, and continued. Her hands moved , both resting on his chest. Pushing him down, now they were both laying on the bed, her ontop of him.

'Roses,' he whispered as he allowed himself to be pushed onto the bed. He sighed loudly as she bit in deeper. He breathed in the scent of her hair and whispered into her ear. He whispered an old rhyme his mother used to sing, low and long her voice had been. His voice became a rumble in his throat, only just within the hearing of most humans. She was not human though, perhaps even less so than him. Gradually he became less aware of his body as its colour deepened and became less solid.

Darkness watched her lying on top of him. She was incredibly beautiful, not like many women back home who starved themselves to look skinny, his mother included. He continued from the second verse into somehting entirely his own. He wrapped his arms around her and allowed the darkness to engulf them completely, trying not to think on what Dave might be doing or where the skeleton might end up.

He rested a while, enjoying he closeness of their bodies. If she had been awake he would have asked if she would allow their two bodies to become one, for his to flow and enhance hers. It saw something he had only done with Dave, it was not something to be undertaken lightly. It was possible that they would become closer than bondmates by doing it.

He did not move, did not want to move. Her body was so warm, her skin so perfect and her ears so adorable. He raised one hand and brought it up to the top of her head. He tickled her ear between his fingers.
'We will have to find Dave, I will be back shortly if you like.'

Darkness nodded. Where would be the best place to find Dave? A brothel probably, one that was fairly rundown so that there was less likely to be soldiers running around. Blast that skeleton! He turned and asked Inumisha where the closest brothel to the pub they had been in was.

Darkness found Dave coddling two young looking skeletons. Their bones couldn't have been more than 17. Dave looked up and glared at him.

'What do you want?' snapped Dave
'Do you and the girls want to come in?'
Dave glared at Darkness fer a couple of seconds before nodding.
'There's also the one by the bar but she'd be too dead and probably been removed.'

Dave silently followed the Image of darkness back to Inumisha's place. He had his arms around the two skeleton girls and had a sulky look on his bone face.

Darkness grinned but did not turn around, he spoke in an amused tone, 'that woman has some...aquired tastes.'
Dave grinned also, 'you slept with her didn't you?'
'In a manner of speaking, though not in the way you mean.'
'I'm next.'
Darkness laughed and pushed the door to her room open, 'how was your rest my princess?'
'Ha haa, she really is a looker under those baggy clothes.'
Darkness wanted to swat Dave for his remark but he was already on dangerous ground.

Again Darkness held his thoughts back. He turned his attention to Inumisha and whispered softly into her doglike ear.

'Dave, what are their names? You did ask?'

"Yeah, I guess so." Inumisha said shrugging her shoulders. "Doesnt really matter to me. Much." She smiled at him. Then she stood up. Her clothes, nearly skin tight, showed how skinny she exectly was, and unfortunatly, was a little see through.

Darkness came in close to her back, his skin brushing lightly against her clothes. He wrapped his arms around her and rubbed his hands up her torso and up to cup her breasts. 'You are taunting me, my princess. Dave will not stay still for long either,' he used his real voice, the deep voice that could quell even the bravest soldier or excite the most prudent woman. Now, he was simply using it for Inumisha's enjoyment. His appearance lost some solidity and Dave had to turn away, grumbling about the darkness.

Inumisha nodded, holding onto Darkeness's arms. "Alright, we'll go. But then you and me will come back here...right?" Inumisha drew away from him and walked into the bathroom. Seconds later, she came back out in a different outfit. This was loose on her. Just how she liked her clothes.  Her samurai pants and top semmed to match. The top left open, a small cloth only to cover herself.

'What? You brought me back here just so we could go shopping? You're not the man I thought you were darkness,' leered Dave.
'How do you knwo I'm even a man?' said Darkness. There was a glint of a challenge in his eye. Perhaps they could take this somewhere a little more public.
'Meet you outside?' asked Dave, who recognised the challenge, 'no magic.'
'Deal. Inumisha, would you care to join us?'

'You've already eaten and Dave doesn't really need to eat but I guess we could. Anything in particular?' he asked as he put he returned Imumisha's embrace. Dave came over to join to join in the affection and placed his arms around both Inumasha and Darkness. The two female skeletons looked very put out. They tried to pull him away but removed an arm.

'Hey?! You killed us now you don't want us?'
'All's fair in love and war :P' said Dave, turning his head around to see them.

Now that Inumisha had her back towards Darkness, Dave came up behind her and rubbed his still-attached arm up her back. Hid teeth clicked together. Darkness gave Dave a warning glare.

'Darkness, you're not going to take that insult are you? A nobleman should never let a lady pay,' he snickered.
'Of course not,' he replied, 'it would be an honour for me to pay for you, my sweet. I'm afraid I do not know the area. I only went looking for brothels earlier.'
'Yeah, and your pet turned us into freaks!' chimed up one of the women. She brandished the arm. She too got a glare from Darkness.

"I prefer sushi....." She smiled. "But it doesnt matter to me. Food is food."

'Sushi it is then,' said Darkness
'Sushi, isn't that just raw fish? I could go unerwater and get you fresher stufff than that!' said Dave. He only wanted to go underwater so he could create undead fish. Maybe he could even carry one with them, undead fish wouldn't need to breath anyway. He started for the door, even if the others didn't want to get raw fish, He would kill something.

OOC: can you lead a bit? I'm not excactly sure where to go from this.

Inumisha frowned at Daves remerk. "I know exectly where to go, if you dont mind walking that is?" She had a devilish look upon her face.

Darkness could not see the look on Inumisha's face but could hear a certain tone in her voice sounded like trouble.

'Should I be scared?' he asked, in the same tone. Whatever it was, it must be interesting.

Inumisha smiled again. "Well, to get there....we kinda have to go through a certain relm." Looking at Dave she said. "Its a realm of the undead. They have great sushi there." She paused for a moment remembering what happened the last time she went there. How she was turned into a vampyre. "But its a long walk, and it takes some energy to get there." She headed to the door, a little ineased tha she was going back, but she thought it would be fun. "Come on. I will lead the way."

Darkness frowned, 'Dave, just how many people did you piss off back there?
'Enough so that it won't matter too much if I return. Ladies, you are in for a real treat. Last time I brought someone there, they got infected with maggots though.'

The two ex-livng hookers looked a little uncomfortable with that but Darkness laughed. They didn't seem to realise Dave had made a joke. He followed Inumisha out along with the three skeletons.

Inumisha looked back at Darkness, with a smile, she took his hand. "I will probably need your help after I cast the spell." She looked at him worriedly. "It tends to drain a good bit of energy from me, therefore,I will need help getting there. I will still point the way though." She smiled again.
Walking to a clearing in the forest next to the village, Inumisha traced a pentacle onto the ground. She gathered everone up into the center of the circle, then began to chant a spell. She spoke them quietly so that no one heard the words. Soon, they were all covered in a bright blue light. The senery began to change, instead of being in a forest clearing, they were now in an open feild. Several weird looking creatures began pass by them. One saying. "Watch where your teleporting
Inumisha smiled as the blue light dissaperated. But then she fell. Her energy practically used up.

Darkness agreed to help her gain energy. The last thing he wanted was to have her collapse from exhastion. Dave could probably bring himself and the women there without help but it would be easier if they stuck together.

He kept his eyes open whle they travelled. He was fascinated by it all; He had ever been to any of the underworlds before. It was about time he aquainted himself with it. Dave had always told excellent drinking stories about times he had stolen limbs or got the wrong eyeball in someone's broth. Dave was the type of person most people got annoyed with quickly, he also had trouble with keeping his hands to himself.

When Inumisha fell he swung around from his musings and went to catch her. He managed to spare her head from hitting the ground but that was all. She was tough so it would be alright.

'What type of energy was it that you needed?' he asked.

Inumisha smiled "Just a bit of my demonic energy and human energy... It isnt that bad, if we can find a spot to sit for a while, we can head towards the restraunt." She smiled as she pulled out a wallet like object. "Here is some money, if you would go find me some water." She hended the strange form of currency to Darkness.
More demons passed by, bumping into the small group that was brought to this land. "But first I think we should move."

Darkness hefted Inumisha up and helped her over to whever she wanted to go. He then looked at Dave and said, 'would you be able to get some water? You'de know the currency better than me... don't go buying anything else though.'

He sat Inumisha on a likely looking spot and laid her in his lap. 'Was there any particular way you wanted to drain some energy? I'm not sure if I am demonic.'

Inumisha shook her head. "No...." She looked at him and smiled, then, she kissed him. Inumisha then looked into the crowd of demons. "There are so many of them here...." She frowned. "I still wonder why everything turned out how it did." Inumisha remeered back to her time. Back in the feudel era. "You know. Where I am from, the demons actually got along with the humans after a while..."

OOC: I so smell Inuyasha here. Does Inumisha have an older half brother/ sister that she doesn't get along with? Inuyasha is cool. Oh, when Inumisha said no, what was she referring to?

'Back in Necromantia, I've rarely met anyone who hated other species. We're all unusual so we're all in the same boat so to speak,' said Darkness. 'Things turn out the way they do because of misunderstandings. If everybody knew what everybody else thought and felt, there would be no need to learn or experience anything.'

He started to feel very young, which was something he was used to after hearing the stories Dave came up with. He smiled down at Inumisha and played with a strand of her hair. The poor thing looked exhausted. Perhaps now that Dave was not around he could wrap her in his darkness. Perhaps not, she seemd more a creature that meeded light in her life.

'What is it like being a demon?' he asked suddenly.

ooC: I dont have a clue. And no. Inumisha has no siblings.
Inumisha smiled. "Its hard being a half demon... there really isnt anywhere to go that doesnt discriminate against you." She looked out to the crowd again. " Everywhere you go....people and demons yell at you..." Inumisha scooted closer to Darkness. "Its horrible..."
Title: Re: A break in monotony, perhaps?
Post by: Anonymous on June 22, 2008, 05:57:37 PM
Darkness frowned, he had never heard of discrimination of halfbreeds. 'Surely Necromantia is more accepting? All the darker races are all mixed and jumbled there,' he hugged her tighter, it must be hard to be unaccepted wherever you go. Then again, he didn't exactly have much experience with common folk beyond drinking with them on occasion.
Title: Re: A break in monotony, perhaps?

Inumisha smiled forlornly. "Yeah...." She never liked going around because of how she was treated. And so far, it hadnt been any better in Necromantia. She had been attacked by a human, 2! She laughed at the thought of how her kind had been treated before. "Yeeah, if only humans and demons werent so rude....heh....." She trailed off as she noticed someone in the crowd.

'Perhaps you just hang with the wrong crowd,' Darkness said. 'Are you a creature of light or dark? There is something I can do to soothe you if you wish.'

If she was a creature of darkness he could let it envelope and go deep within her... So long as Dave didn't come back and start screaming. 'How long will it take Dave to fetch water? Is it far?' he asked. He put his arm inside the folds of her shirt and embraced her. He felt the scars across her body and traced meaningless symbols on her back. A revived one glared at hjim so he withdrew his hands with a sigh.

Inumisha nodded, she did need some comfort. "Yeah, the place where I want water is pretty far." She smiled. "Well, I dont know...I never know. I was always different, you know....part of a prophesy that you know nothing of, then when it is fufilled you dontknow what you want after that...."

'I don't follow prophecies much. Many of them are just there to keep priests on the pay roll. If the prophecy is true it will unfold by itself, if it is not then there is no need to firce it.'

Darkness let slip his darkness to cover her and protect her while she was vulnerable. If she was a creature of darkness like he hoped she was, it would seep inside her and give her strength, make her feel cared for and at home. 'Be at peace my Princess, no-one can get to you.'

Slowly he bacame less solid but he was weary not to let their bodies bind. He would not take advantage of her like that and sharing himself was too intimate for this sort of occasion.

Having a prophacy fulfilled would probably cause some stress, but one would have thought it would also mean that things would be easier for the demon. Perhaps she was the villian in the tale. It mattered not to him, he cared for her and would not do her harm.

'You're falling asleep again Princess,' he said softly, lovingly. He brushed her eyes as they drooped. She looked so much more peaceful when asleep but her eyes still had a hint of sadness in them. 'What was done to you?'

OOC: Erm, I don't really know. I would like to say black but black on black is kinda hard to draw.I'm guessing he'd have almost brooding eyes with large eyesbrows. Perphaps navy blue or the violet at the end of the spectrum?. LOL, two adverbs in one description. Pubishers would be strangling me now!

OOC:Okay ^. .^
Inumisha heard his words, and quickly sat up. "S-sorry...." Inumisha looked at him sadly, then got up to walk. She was nervouse, and afraid. "My past.... made me feel like I had to do everything..." The wind picked up, making her hair flutter in the wind. "At first, i thought I was the bad guy till everything began to fall into place like the prophecy had said...." Rain began to lightly sprinkle, causing Inumisha to tilt her head towards the rain. The cool water made her feel a little better. " Then I became a hero to some and a ruler to others.... then...I died...." She looked over to him and smiled, therfore, I was able to continue to live.
The crowd around thm scattered as a demon flew out. I knew I smelled the foul stench of the wretched half demon that killed me!!! The demon had large horns and a giant axe. Now, its my chance to kill you. I shall have my revenge!!! The demon lunge forward and Inumisha quickly doged the first blow. "Get out of here Darkness, I will catch up."

The Image of Darkness sighed. People just didn't get it. He was not going to run away when his companions were in trouble. 'Inumisha, I'm not leaving. If you don't think we can handle this I have other weopons I can use,' he offered. He did not like the idea of her battling anyone so soon after she had taken them here. At least Dave wasn't here, which meant he could use his darkness.

Inumisha wasn't thrilled about his response, but she complied with a nodd. Quickly, she turned into a full feledged demon, and said "Lets see, the last time I killed you, you were on a rampage through my city. "She laughed.  Let me destroy you this time, so you cant come back. The demon laghed. This time I am not that stupid. I brought some old friends back as well. He smirked as more demons crawled out of the darkness of the trees. Do you remember these guys? One of them stole your heart and put you under his controll. And he still does. Inumisha's eyes widened as the image of Nimari appeared.
Title: Re: A break in monotony, perhaps?
Post by: Anonymous on July 13, 2008, 08:13:18 AM
The Image of Darkness saw Inuyasha's reaction and decided that she wouldn't be able to handle it.

'Inumisha, close your eyes and think of someplace warm, bright and safe,' he ordered. 'And for gods' sakes, don't open your eyes.'

Without waiting for her to react he let the darkness rip. If it had been up in the normal ream this would have destroyed a great deal of light-needing organisms. The darkness swirled greedily over all of the surrounding creatures. Screams and shrieks could be heard and the sounds of creatures falling to the ground. Darkness hoped that Dave was not one of them.

The darkness kept growing, Darkness could feel people going insane from the lightless void that was his body. Objects started rolling towards him along the ground, leaving deep marks in the earth.

When he was satisfied that nobody would be able to attack him, he went over to Inumisha. His body was too insubstantial to hold her now, he was the darkness itself.

'DO YOU TRUST ME,' his voiced boomed and echoed within the dark cloud.

OOC: sorry, really crummy post.

Inumisha shook her head. "Please, if i do, oyu leave that man." She pointed to Nimari. "I want to kill him. After what he did." But before she could close her eyes, Nimari smirked and murmered some words, causing Inumisha to fall to the ground. "take out the other demons Darkness. Hes-- he's mine!" Pulses of pain writhed through her body, caseing her to completly collapse. Then, she got back up. Her eyes were blank, and emotionless, and srange markings appeared on her face. Nimari began to talk through her. " If you take us out...You will lose Inumisha. An evil laugh emmitted from the man now behind her. His hands were on her shoulders, daring him to attack.
Title: Re: A break in monotony, perhaps?
Post by: Anonymous on July 13, 2008, 09:51:53 PM
It worried him to see her writhing on the ground. If the Image of Darkness had had a face at this point, he would have frowned. He could not risk going inside Inumisha when there was somebody else inside her. He could not pull her out either, that was beyond his control. She would have to fight that battle on her own for now. He would not interrupt until it looked like she would fail, then he would have no choice to go inside her.

He made the darkness closest to his core become darker so that the other creatures -the ones that weren't too cowardly - could come closer to him. He attacked the mind of the closest one. Surrounded all him in something akin to insanity, a black insanity. The undead fell to the ground screaming. He was probably the only one who could see how the man was contorting, all his limbs trying to dig inside his skull and remove the shadoows destroying his mind. The sight and sound unnerved Darkness, was this what Dave had looked like when Dave had tried to kill him?

He kept going, holding the man in the cruel grip until the undead creature died of his fears. It was a horrid way to die and Darkness could not help but feel a little sorry for his adversary. He could not see into people's minds so he could only imagine what it could be doing to them.

OOC: let me know when she is about to fail and if you want Darkness inside her.

Nimari smirked, and covered himself in a barrier. Inumisha. Kill him.... Inumishas body didnt move. I said kill him Inumisha Still, she didnt move. Stupid half demon! Nimari left his barrier and grabbed Inumisha by the throat. You will do as I say or you will- A knife was throw at Nimari from a direction behind Darkness.
"Leave her alone." A voice called. A man with white hair and dog ears similar to Inumisha's ran up to Nimari. "If you want to live..."
Inumisha looked over in their direction and gave darkness a look telling him to act now, while he was out of the barrrier. She murmerd some words and was quickly released from Nimaris grasp. She when over to the man with white hair, and put up a barrier to protect them. "Now Darkness!!!" She yelled.

occ:okay. hey, dont worry, the man is only Inumisha's son from the future.

Darkness ran at Inumisha and put his arms around her, embracing her as he had back in her room. Gently, slowly he put himself inside her. He would let her feed on his energy and darkness.

From within her he sent a dark force towards the man who had tried to gain control of her. If she could not fight the man, he would do it. It was better for her to live and fight himi another day than die now.

Kenji looked at what was happening, and asked Darkness a question. " Think you two can conjure up a dragon of Darkness? It would help to enilate this man."
Inumisha was also thinking the exact same thing at that moment in time. She began to mumble elven words, and out of the shadows, a dragon began to form.
OCC:Soory, if its a bad post.

'Inumisha, my princess. Are you okay?'

He wasn't exactly sure where his voice was coming from now. He could feel himself ebbing through Inumisha and flowing in and around the dragon. It was a similar sensation to how air must feel when it is breathed in. He could have controlled the dragon by himself but he felt that this was something Inumisha had to do. He could feed her but not do this for her.

OOC: tell me if/ when you want Dave to reappear
Title: Re: A break in monotony, perhaps?

occ; Will do ^. .^

Inumisha transformed into a full fledge demon, giving the dragon glowing red celtic markings. Soon, the dragon began to look, and feel real. It was no longer a shadow, but a dragon of pure darkness. It let loose a roar that shook everything. Even the air felt like it was shaking. As soon as the dragon roared, inumisha to gained the red celtic marks, giving Inumisha an even greater boost of power.
The energy rushed through Inumisha's body. When she stood up, she was purely black. Just as black as the dragon was. This made her smirk, and in an eerie voice she said. "Now, Nimari, try to take control of me now... She pointed to him, and the dragon flew into the air. In her thoughts she asked. 'Can you give the dragon a dark flame? I am told it can melt enything, even that barrier he has.'
Title: Re: A break in monotony, perhaps?
Post by: Anonymous on July 27, 2008, 07:13:21 AM
'I can.' He did not want to fight this battle for her but since she had asked, he would assist further. He sent a dark fire out his/the dragon's/ Inumisha's mouth. The "flames" curled around in intricate swirls, calling the light to it and beginning to suck everything in. Rocks began to drag across the ground and the insane man started rolling closer also. If he went any further the trouble would be holding it in, not pushing any more energy out.

'Be careful, and hurry.'
Title: Re: A break in monotony, perhaps?
Post by: Anonymous on July 27, 2008, 10:09:56 AM
Inumisha nodded, and as the fire stopped, Nimari's barrier broke. This is it Nimari. I will finish you off. Not thinking, she dashed forward, and onto the dragon. Her skills in dragon ridding where great, but only on normal dragons. NOW! Inumisha murmerd some spells, causing Nimari to fall to the ground. And as the dragon began to accend, Nimari died. And as Nimari died, Inumisha began to loose control of herself. 'This power....' Soon, the power of Darkness began to consume her full demon state, makeing her not want to revert back. 'I must...keep this state....' As soon as she thought this, the dragon dissapeared. Making her fall to the ground, and fast.
Title: Re: A break in monotony, perhaps?
Post by: Anonymous on July 28, 2008, 01:29:35 AM
The Image of Darkness/the dragon roared. He was losing control and was drawing more and more of Inumisha into him, rather than him into her. They were sucked back to one entity and so the dragon disappeared. He felt fear rising within him as he/Inumisha fell, he was unable to tell whose fear was whose. There was a mixture of fear of falling and fear for a loved one.

He ripped himself from Inumisha, he would not have her die like this. He only hoped the parting would not be painful. He became a swirl of black smoke and surrounded her on her way to the ground. He focused on pulling as much of the darkness in as possible so that he would solidify and be able to wrap his arms about her. Wind ripped around him and darkness became light. He wrapped his arms around his precious parcel and smiled.
Title: Re: A break in monotony, perhaps?
Post by: Anonymous on July 28, 2008, 06:22:32 PM
Inumisha could feel herself falling, but she felt close to no fear. Thought when she felt Darkness's arms wrap around her, what fear was there, had dissapeared. She had felt safe in his arms.
Kenji, meanwhile was just sitting on the ground waiting for his mother and the man he'd never met before.
Title: Re: A break in monotony, perhaps?

The Image of Darkness sat on the ground and wiped the side of Inumisha's face with his hand, as tired as he was, she looked a lot worse. 'Are you well, Inumisha?' he asked. His voice had not turned back to normal and his shadow seemed to be a part of him. He looked up at the white haired man.

'Greetings. Thank you for your help.'

He looked back down at Inumisha with a look of concern upon his face. He very much wanted to pull her even closer but he was not sure how injured she was. 'how was that man able to control her?'
Title: Re: A break in monotony, perhaps?
Post by: Anonymous on July 29, 2008, 09:50:31 AM
Inumisha nodded. "I am fine." Then she drifted to sleep.
Kenji laughed lightly. "Dont mention it. All in a days work right?" He smiled at Darkness. "And it was a special spell that Nimari used that allowed him to gain control of her. If you look, on her chest, there is a bad scar where her heart is...well...was...." His expression grew grim. "Nimari ripped her heart from her body in order to gain controll of her..." Sitting down in fron of him, he handed darkness a small jar that contained ashes. "In this jar, is her heart. He incineratedit after he stole it, so her heart couldnt be put back in her body."
Title: Re: A break in monotony, perhaps?
Post by: Anonymous on August 05, 2008, 01:00:41 AM
Darkness looked at the jar but did not touch it. He had never heard of the spell and was not sure what touching it would do, the sleeping demon in front of him needed no more darkness inside her. 'We need to get her somewhere safe and I have neither the strength nor the ability to change realms,' he said. Now that any immediate danger had dissipated, he could feel weariness creeping into him and pulling at the hole inside his being.

He would have to trust the man before him. Dave was still off somewhere, probably enthralled in his skeletal beauties and he was not very familiar with the area. 'I'm afraid you will have to carry her, I need to focus on my control,' he said. The fact that his voice had not returned to normal was proof of how tired he was.

"No problem. After all, I will always be here to help her." He smiled at Darkness. Putting the jar away, he reached over for Inumisha. "I am afraid to say this, but here, in this village there is no possible hidding spot. All her enemies are here. Everyone she new, killed, exc." He pointed towards the woods as he picked his mother up. "We literaly have to hide in there."

'I might be desperate but I am not going in the woods with an unconsious woman and a stranger. Who are you and why did you help her?' He was in no position to stop the man or ask questions but he wanted to know anyway. He had feeling for Inumisha and was not about to let some stranger take her away where she might be harmed.

Darkness literally had to force himself off the ground. he wouldn't be able to use much of his energy with Inumisha around for a while. He didn't want her to develop a fear like Dave had. Where was he anyway, in a brothel by now probably?

"Relax, its safer in there than being in this town any longer. Besides, she trusts me. Why cant you?" He prtended to sound hurt, to lighten the mood abit, but soon said. "I am her son." He sighed. "I am from the future. And if you dont beleive me, you dont have to. Just trust that I am not here to harm either of you." Smiling like Inumisha would he said. "Cant you see the resemblance?" He to had white dog ears, fangs and golden yellow eyes.

Darkness nodded and followed Inumisha's son. Hopefully the man took after his mother in being safe around darkness too. Even some of the darknest creatures could be driven insane when things turned bad around the Image of Darkness.  'How impervious are you to darkness? Will I need to draw any more in when we enter the forest?'

Darkness could easily see in the dark without a lamp but he wasn't sure about a half or possibly quarter demon.

"Truthfully, I dont know..." He said. "Probably just a couple of hours." You should get your rest to then. No one will attack, as long as were in here, and no one blows our cover" Smileing, he light a fire and pulled out a sack from behind some nearby bushes. "You hungery?"

Darkness nodded, 'I'm famished. I don't normally have people use my energy; Dave still hasn't gotten over the first time he came in contact with it.' His voice was back to normal now, that was a good sign. It would also mean that animals wouldn't be too scared to come back, not that he was worried. Right now all he wanted was sleep, he wasn't too drained and uncontrolled for that.

Kenji smiled and laughed, "Well, so what you need to do I suppose." He bagan cooking food for when Inumisha woke up. " If you are feeling hungry later, I will have something ready for you." All that was heard after that was the crackle of the fire, and the bustle of the trees in the wind. Kenji looked at his mother and then at darkness. He smiled. "If there is anything you need from the village, I will be happy to get it for you. But when i leave, you will need to take cover."

'Dave. He went to fetch water. I guess he was too scared when I started attacking. That or he's enjoying the two whores he converted,' Darkness murmered as he rubbed his face. If Kenji was going to get the skeleton, he would have to stay awake long enough for them to get back. He pushed himself into a sitting position, 'do you have any water?'

Kenji nodded. "Here. Its cold if you dont mind." He handed it to Darkness, and said. "Let me know if you need anything." With a smile, he went back on to cooking. He was quietly, but happily whistleing a tune that Inumisha had sung earlier that day.

Darkness accepted the water then flopped to the ground. He knew he was being lazy but right now, he was too tired to care. 'Do you mind if I rest a while? Wake me if anything strange starts happenning or when Inumisha wakes.'

He closed his eyes and focused on his breathing, allowing a small amount of black air to swirl in and out his mouth.

Kenji laughed. "Of course. Take all the rest you need." He went on cooking and humming.
Soon afterwards, the food was done, and he ate. Setting some aside for Inumisha and Darkness. He litsened to their breathig, which made him yawn. He hadnt thought about how much energy it took to use a time traveling spell, and before he reolized it, he to was dozzing off.  Failing to stay awake, he past out as well.

When Darkness opened his eyes, it was dark: not insane or darker-than-black dark, just nighttime dark. He checked his body to make sure he still looked relatively male and pushed himself into sitting position. Admittedly he could have slept for longer but he should let Inumisha's son... Kenji get some rest too.

'Hello?' he asked. He hadn't lifted his head so he had no idea what was happening around him or what he would find when he was completely awake.

The wind blew gently around them. When Darkness spoke, both Inumisha and Kenji's ears twitched. Not long afterwards, a two tailed fox demon wandered into the camp. Looking freindly, it walked over to Kenji and layed down. Eyeing darkness, it just stayed there. Then, it began to bark. Contantly, until Inumisha was awakened.
Sitting up rather irratatedly, she picked up a big leaf and threw it. "Bad Ember....." She was clearly still asleep. "B-A-D.............Ember................" Inumisha passed back out. Her head slightly hitting the ground. The fox demon just looked at Inumisha and set its head down, still eyeing Darkness.

Darkness got to his feet at the sound of the fox-demon but when he saw that it was friendly, he sat back down. The exchange puzzled him. All his pets had been skeletons, or turned into them so seeing a living one was quite a treat. 'What in the gods was that all about?' he asked Kenji. He put his hand out and called to the cute little thing. Some part of Darkness was still female and he felt the urge to pet it. Unfortunately, he had no idea how one went about playing with living animals. He imagined it had something to do with feeding them and not being able to put your hand through their body.

Ember looked at Darkness more, and sniffed his hand. At first, she sat back down, but then, she pressed her head against tha palm of his hand. Kenji laughed. "Its nothing really. Shes....grumpy when shes woken up.....Unless you were talking about the fox? Then, I dont really know..." He laughed again.
Ember sat next to Darkness, and rubbed her face on his arm.
OCC: Hey, you know that part with Nimari taking control over Inumisha? Go looked at me new deviation.

Darkness laughed at the little fox rubbing him. 'Don't get too close, I might bite,' he joked. Well, it wasn't exactly a joke. He could harm the little thing if he didn't pay attention to himself. Darkness was rested enough to be stable. 'Is the little thing a friend of Inumisha's?'

'How long was I out for?' he asked.

"Yeah. Tuthfully, that isnt as big as Ember can get." Kenji laughed some more. "You werent out very long... Maybe a half hour or so..." He looked at Ember and said. "Ember, transform." When he said this,  Ember jumped into the air, and turned into a larger fox demon, with dragon like wings, and its twin tails were on fire.

'That's more like it!' Darkness laughed. He had to get up to look at the creature fully. He lifted his arm up to it to try and rub it's exposed belly.

He looked back down at Inumisha. It seemed strange to him that somebody could go around their whole life and not be accepted. She seemed fine, more than fine in fact, to him. 'Is she going to live like this for the rest of her life? It doesn't seem right.'

"Well, technically, her life ended years ago." Kenji said.Ember rolled over to her back to let Darkness pet her. "The man who you fought today, brought from the dead one of inumisha's toughest opponents. And after she killed Nimari, the woman went after Inumisha for revenge." He looked into the sky. "She died not long after my sister was born....." He looked back at Darkness. "What I dont understand though, is how she's alive.... I watched her get attacked, and my father was there for her death....thats why I am here now."

'If she's dead in your time, why do you need to come to now?' he asked. His voice turn disapproving. 'It's foolish to meddle with the past. You should know that.'

'If you need somewhere safe, I can take you both to my parent's place,' Darkness offered. He didn't quite like the idea though, it meant he would have to go back to wearing clothes. Clothes were always so uncomfortable and he had to keep shifting them. Damn upperclass fashions. Real men did not wear all that regalia and try to look like peacocks.

"I know...but technically, I am not meddling. I just mainly came to see her. I have done it several times. She likes it." Kenji said smileing. He nodded to Darkness's offer, and said. "I think that would be a good idea. But whatwould they say to the fact that you have a passed out girl with you?" He smiled, and noticed that the sun was begining to rise.

"Eh, true." Kenji said nodding. "Well, if we go, we would have to get going now. If the sun rises any more, any other demons who hate Inumisha will be sure to find her." He stood up. "And i dont think we want that right now." Kenji never know what to do in certain situations, and the fact that he had just met Darkness and already trusted him, made him just go with what ever plan Darkness had.
"Dark.......ness........"Inumisha murmered. this made Kenji looked down at her and smile. "She's dreaming about you." He whispered softly. He knew almost everything about her, only because of the frequent visits he made to her.

Darkness nodded. When he heard Inumisha he cupped Inumisha's hands around one of his then began stroking her hair with the other. 'Dave will go back to the house on his own eventually. He's going to be furious with me for ditching him though,' Darkness sighed. He could already picture the skeleton attacking Darkness with a knife. Dave was the better combat fighter and unless darkness used any of himself, Dave would definitely win.

'Your mother can use me without going insane so I guess you can too. If you need some extra strength for the crossing, let me know beforehand.' If Darkness didn't know beforehand, there was a small possibility that Kenji would turn out like Dave: afraid of the dark or slightly insane. 'My house is half a click north of the Thanatos library. If you don't want to be seen by the locals, I suggest you focus on the cellars.'

Kenji nodded. "That is fine." He smiled as he finished putting everything away, then he said. "If you dont mind, could you get Inumisha?" He was worried for his mother. "If you need to on the trip, I will take her from you." Looking towards some trees that were at the far side of the clearing, he began to chant a spell, and a warp hole began to form. The sky got darker instead of brighter, and and the wind began to blow furiously. Kenji was having some slight difficulties holding the portal open, but managed to open it enough for everone to go through. "Go now!"

OOC: if Kenji is from the future, does he know about Darkness already?

Darkness scooped Inumisha up and smiled at her, thinking how surprised his parents would be to see him with Kenji and her. She was a beautiful creature, it was such a pity that she had to live like this. Darkness bent over slightly to get through the vortex without knowing what he would find.

occ:Yeah, in the future, there would be his kind.
As they went through, Kenji followed. Not thinking, he accidently left it open, and Ember decided to go through. Seconds later, the vortex faded, and Kenji, Inumisha, Ember and Darkness were on the other side.

A skeletal servent was sitting on a stool swigging on a sheepskin of some old wine. When he saw the indruders he the wine in his... abdominal cavity fell to the floor and he screamed. Darkness groaned at the mess. He was going to get in trouble for that; his parents didn't like him terrorising the servants.

'Darkness! Is that you? What are you doing in the cellars and why did you have to scare Korath?' called a low, female voice.

'Yes Mum. I have friends with me, they need attention and I didn't do anything to him,' he called back. The cellar door opened to show an aging woman with swallow skin and a dark, draping dress. She looked around the room at the strange assortment of creatures before frowning at her son.

'It would be so much nicer if you would at least wear a pair of pants in a while,' her eyes met the man while she was talking. 'Don't tell me you've decided to turn female? you know how your father feels about that. Well, come along,' she said with a sigh. Her dress spun and scraped the stairs as she ascended. Darkness gave an amused look and winked at Kenji, his dark eyes seemed to glitter.

Kenji looked at him confused. Had she of not seen Inumisha? Then again, it was dark... and she was behind Darkness... 'Hmmm...' He thought to himself. 'Oh well...' He wasnt sure what was going through Darkness's head, nore did he really want to know. He could've been thinking about anything. "Well..." Kenji said. "Were here." He looked over to Darkness, hoping he would be guided to where they needed to be.

Darkness shifted Inumisha and started up the stairs. She was getting a bit heavy in his arms. 'Don't mind my mother. Last time I brought a male home with me it was to disturb my father. It worked a treat but now he took it a bit too seriously,' he said. He led them up to his room and lay Inumisha on his bed. He sat next to her, not wanting to leave. She still hadn't even stirred more than saying his name, but that wasn't exactly a good thing either. What if she turned out like Dave: afraid of the dark and terrified of his own best friend? The worst thing was that if he tried to help, it may make things worse.

'Is it natural for her to be like this?' he asked. 'Ring that bell over there. A servant will come to fetch water for us.'

"Yeah," Kenji said. "She'll be fine." Kenji reached over and rang the bell.
Inumisha was slightly waking up. "Darkness...." She said. Inumsha moved a bit, and slightly opened her eyes. " Her eyes hadnt returned to normal yet. They were pure blace. "Darkness....what....what happened?"
Title: Re: A break in monotony, perhaps?

'Inumisha!' said Darkness, letting go a sigh of relief. He wrapped his arms around her and whispered into her ear, 'you scared me.' He moved back and cupped his hands around her face, looking into her eyes. They chilled him, they were not her own.

'Inumisha, what do you see?' he asked. He didn't want to worry her with what had happened, not just yet, though his face probably showed his worry far more than words oculd. He wanted to make sure nothing had happened to her, that she wasn't afraid of him.

"I can see perfectly." She said smiling. She blinked a couple times, and her eyes began to return to normal. "Why? Is there something wrong?" She was still smiling. She kissed Darkness on his cheek as an apology, and pulled her face out of his hands. She hugged him, and pressed her face against his chest.
Kenji looked at Darkness and smiled. "Told ya she'd be fine." She kinda had the i told ya so tone in his voice.

'No Princess; there is nothing wrong,' Darkness said as he burst into laughter. 'At least I know what happens when I share myself with a demon.' He put his hand on her head and tussled a strand of hair from behind her dog-like ears.

'How would you know that?' asked Darkness. 'I've had another who assured me he would be fine and ended up losing a fair few marbles.'

'Korath! I know you're there.' Darkness shouted. 'If you aren't here by the count of three, I'll start using my other voice!'

'One, two!-'

A curse came from outside the door and the skeleton ran in. He looked at Inumisha then turned all his attention to Kenji, obviously ignoring the Image of Darkness. 'You rang, Sir?' asked Korath.

Darkness just grinned then turned back to Inumisha. 'He did. It didn't stop me from being a little apprehensive though,' he said in a softer tone.

Inumisha smiled. "I understand." Her words were soft. "When you lent me your powers..." She trailled off abit, before she spoke again. "The darkness that consumed my heart..." She looked up at him. "the power that I had, I felt like it was going to consume me. I actually wanted all that power." Tears began to form in her eyes, and it was apparent. "That power was more that I could handle. I wanted to use it to seek me revenge, not just eliminate Nimari for good." It was apparent that she wasnt afraid of the power, but yet, herself. "If that dragon hadnt have dissapeared, me demon form would've taken over."
Kenji in the meantime talked to Korath. "Could I get something to drink? Water or orange juice or somthin?"
Title: Re: A break in monotony, perhaps?

'That wasn't just power you were controlling, that was who I am,' he said, then he saw her starting to cry. He wrapped his arms tightly around her and let her head rest on his bare chest, just over his heart. 'Shhh, it's over now. I won't let it control you, you were strong to be able to use it, to not go insane and to let go. There are others that cannot say that.'

Korath bowed and grumbled about being in the same room as the dark child. 'Shut up Korath!' snapped Darkness. He hated being called the dark child, it was just so derogatory. Korath jumped and scuttled out of the room.

'You'll have to excuse him. I played some pranks on him and he turned out a bit loopy,' explained Darkness. 'He's one of the ones that weren't strong.'

Kenji nodded at looked at inumisha. He gestured to Darkness asking if she was alright.
Inumisha thought about what darknesss had said. This was true... She had heard of people from the future who were unable to withstand the darkness. "Darkness..." She said softly. "If it hadnt been for Kenji I would probably be terrified of you...." Inumisha felt like she had to say what she was going to say. Otherwise she would've felt like she was lying. "Kenji is a creature raised by your kind...He learned things he shouldnt know." More tears flowed from her eyes.

'My kind,' Darkness murmured to himself. Aloud he said, 'you're fine Inumisha, that's all that matters. You're safe where they can't find you again.' He kept one hand over her head and used the other to stroke her long hair down her back. He glanced at Kenji, not sure what to do. At least that annoying Korath was gone. Inumisha did not need to see Darkness in a fury.

Kenji looked back at the two, and smiled.
Inumisha on the other hand was feeling guilty. "Before I died, I left him in the care of a couple who i thought were normal..." She looked at Kenji through the corner of her eye. "And they raised him.." There were exactly like you." She laughed a little, then raised her head and kissed Darkness on his cheek. "I didnt think a half demon could learn things like that..."

Darkness felt a little let down. He had hoped that there were others like him but it seemed not. 'I'm sorry , Princess. They must not have been my kind if they could appear normal. I don't know what they taught you. It is very likely they are something much different, lots of creatures have dark natures around here.'

"Are you sure?" Inumisha said. "Then..." She nodded off for a second. "Never mind.." Inumisha was felling tired again. She wanted to sleep, but coiuldnt.
Kenji looked at the door. He heard a noise, and his immediat thought was an intuder. He was forgetting where he was.

'If you need to sleep, please do. I'm not going anywhere,' he said. He looked at Kenji when he glanced at the door, then glanced there also. 'Is something the matter?'

He turned back to Inumisha, she was so light in his arms. The poor thing had used too much of her energy in the fight. He bent over slightly and kissed the top of her head.

Darkness got off the bed and sighed. It probably wasn't appropriate to show so much affection to some asleep when their child was in front of you. 'Don't worry, you'd know if you had a half-dark half-sibling and I'm not the type to abuse women,' he explained. Dave was a different matter altogether though. If the skeleton thought he could have a new "friend" out of it, there was very little he wouldn't do.

'Come in,' he called eventually.

As the door opened, Kenji looked over to Inumisha. "You know...its not easy... having a mother who is half dead.... its kind of sad really...." There was a solmn look in his eyes. "She died when I was still a child. And my father was the one who looked after us... My sister and I..." Inumisha shifted her positioning, and groaned as if she were having a bad dream.
