Cian's face turned strawberry red. He was a bit cross and miffed that some farm boy would talk about him like a soft-handed younger brother instead of an aristocrat with armed guards! Not that Cian could do anything to him, really, or would. It just didn't sit right. " I- I've been to Frogpsit point! Just as a child, you see." Mind you, Cian had never set foot on it. The isle was considered cursed and the young male preferred following rules to the letter. But the little white lie made him feel better or at least forget all the missed chances to fight impromptu wars with sticks, go skinny dipping, and other things...

"I want to go and take a proper look for anything actually magical, or historical, instead of hide and seek and all that." It occured to Cian there was no need to be officious about it. Looking the farmhand up and down he had all the eagerness of a small boy playing knight. If anyone was excited for expedition it'd be Godfrey.

Cian ap Maerwen conjured a smile and extended a hand, skin fair and uncalloused. "I guess I should properly introduce myself. I'm Cian. Nice to meet you Godfrey. I guess its just... its just going to be you and me. I don't suppose you know the way? Its, um, been quite a while since I've been out there you know."

Gunthyr returned to tiddying the bar. The grizzled old soldier watched the pair with with a twinkle of amusement in his eye, though he tried to hide it beneath his usual gruff frown. It was right and good to see two small town boys planning some grand adventure. Well, an adventure. Right shame to have responsibility and sensibility crush that thing out of a young man.

@LostSoul

Benlend was a tiny village nestled deep in the forested hills of Serendipity's southern border. It was some miles off the high road to Arc, but with basilisks and spriggans in the wood it was a place to stay if you had no choice. It was mostly a spiderweb of dirt roads between farms and orchards with a hall, tavern, and some tradesfolk at the center of it all. Contrary to all the grumbling to his father, brothers, and sisters Cian did not hate Benlend. It really was beautiful. It was just the smell of cattle and horses he did not like. That and, in his head, he was always somewhere better: some old witch king's palace in the Wester Highlands, the library of Arca, or the glass oasis of Essryn.

The young male edged his way into The Merry Mule. Two old men sat by the fire stroking a shaggy dog and in the far corner three children sat on the floor, staring ponderously up at an antlered head on the wall. Cian approached the bar where a large, bald, fleshy man sat polishing a mug. "Young Master Cian."

Cian sighed in annoyance at the diminutive. "Hello Gunthyr. No, I wanted to know if anyone replied to my poster..." His eyes flicked across the room to a notice board. Mostly it was farmers looking to pawn off all carts, a local woman trying to find some work for her now 13-year-old son, and the services of a traveling midwife. Neatly written, at the center of it all, was Cian's notice.

"Cian ap Maerwen is hiring sellswords, treasure-hunters, and local guides. This is for an expedition to the Moonmaiden's Tor in search of artifacts of magical and historical significance. You may know it in the local vernacular as 'Frogspit Point.' My study of local literature, and third era elven cartography, has determined isle to very likely be connected to the local legend "Merry and the Moonmaiden." A small stipend will be paid, plus accolades, the favor of House Maerwen, and a dividend of treasure within."

"Nope. And I don't expect it. There ain't much in the way of sellswords here. And to be honest, lad, its too wordy. People in these parts don't read so much or so good." Gunthyr was an old guardsmen, had earned his keep, and was not one to scrape and bow before young aristocrats.

"Everyone here knows the old story of Merry and the Moonmaiden. He was farm-boy who tricked a witch into taking him into a magical well, as a human sacrifice, where he gained sorcerous powers to fight her. You'd think there'd be some interest in finding the place and making this town a little more than a place to water your mules!" Usually dour, Cian was suddenly animated as he began explaining how elves believed magical energy to flow along rivers and nearly always built atop ley line nexuses.

"Cian, Cian, we all know you love the story and how old Merry was your ancestor. Or so you've gone around saying since you were yay big." The big man smiled gently, flattened a palm at waist level. "There's a reason your pa never looked and his dad before him. Its just an old tower. Might be there's spirits and magic there. Might not. But some things are better left alone and we do okay here."

"Well I-" Cian huffed. Gunthyr had a way of giving un-asked for advice you could never refute. "I will take it as a no then?"

"Mostly my tribe wore red silks and gold. Like, um, puffy pants kind of? No shirt or anything, though." Kana grinned broadly, flexing a bicep. "We don't need any of that stupid armor. But we had these short little capes with a lot of color!"

"Why wouldn't you wear armor if you're fighting with spears and arrows? You would have to wear something..." his other head mumbled, dubiously, just to be contrarian. "Anyway, anything is good! Just do it!"

"One, there's no reason to be embarrassed. There are no girls around. And secondly you don't know everything. And why would we need armor? I can turn our skin to ROCKS! Now can you do it, Ria? And put gold in it also." The geomancer was bouncing on his heels, thrilled at the opportunity. He was never old enough to named a proper warrior in his tribe and never given the silks and golden lamellar befitting of the station.

Above them the wind seemed to howl. It was deafening. Though in actuality it was just a very annoyed sigh from Dylan. The blonde-haired youth took a book from the nightstand and paged through it impatiently. Not reading, just a dramatic gesture to show his irritation.

The girl did not seem at all like a scholar of illustrious magic; probably just playing pretend at sorcery. Who was she to get officious? Incensed, Ewan crossed his arms and a cock-eyed gaze rose to meet Raisa's. "I am not begging. Niamh sent me to come fetch you. You want to see her about the book, yeah?"

He beckoned her to the door. Already Raisa was beginning to draw too much attention; her pink hair and posh diction were markedly out of place among the roughnecks of Zantaric. A tiny smirk crossed the boy's face. There was something about her attitude he did not all care for, so he was going to have a bit of fun. "I know a pretty good shortcut to Niamh's. No room for a horse or carriage or anything, though, so i hope you brought good boots. Going to ruin those shoes."

"Nice to meet you!" Ollie offered a beaming smile and extended a hand. Though thickly muscled, and wearing a tarnished breastplate, his hands were curiously soft and lacking in the scars you might expect from a young warrior. "And I could certainly use any help. I grew up working in a bookshop.

"And I'm out here the same reason as you. Right now I am looking for an armorer, but the real story is I inherited a magic sword and wanted to see Serendipity." It was the best way to put it.

They managed to get some detailed directions from the inn-keeper and set off. The sun was at its zenith, and the villagers were trickling in from their fields and shops for an afternoon meal and a long rest. A grumpy old washerwoman gave Ken a glower in passing. Soon they neared the crossroad and Ollie noticed that a shaggy black canine was trailing them both. He never liked dogs, even as a boy. The idea of some friendly furry animal was lovely but they were always sniffing awkward places, jumping on you, slobbering all over.

"Is that, um, yours?"

"Well I know Widow Brie was looking for some strapping boys to do heavy work. Not sure you, uh, fit the bill. Heard they could use some pickers in East Wharton, though."  Else gave the goblin a look. She would see them in the forest at times, but was warned many-a-time to steer clear on account of their mischief. This one seemed gentle enough, or at least Whistler liked him, but weren't all tricksters well-mannered? She couldn't very well risk poor Widow Brie coming to harm at the hands of some hooligan! It would just be safer to send him along.

"Oh, I'm sure the two of us can make ourselves useful. Lots to be done around an old farm, I'm sure..." Ollie offered a resigned smile. The poor fellow must be equally desperate if he was willing to sleep in a stable for a few coppers. It was really the worst part of adventuring. Mud, rain, itchy hay, and all the unglamorous bits they don't tell you about.

The barmaid chewed her lip. "Go up the road until you find the well and go east. Its the farm with a little toadstool on the sign."

"Thank you. And your soup was very nice," the boy smiled, setting some coin on the bar for his meal. It was mostly just a bunch of onions and potatoes but he wanted to be nice. He then turned to the goblin, "I'm Oliver, by the way, Oliver Driftwind. What brings you to Hylop?"

Hylop was a tiny village nestled deep in the forests of Ravensway. It was some miles off the high road to Arc, but with basilisks and spriggans in the wood it was a place to stay if you had no choice. That was how Ollie Driftwind came to the village. It was mostly a spiderweb of dirt roads between farms and orchards with a hall, tavern, and some tradesfolk at the center of it all.  The young male edged his way into The Merry Mule. Two old men sat by the fire stroking a shaggy dog and in the far corner three children sat on the floor, staring ponderously up at an antlered head on the wall.

"May I have a room for the night?" Ollie approached the bar and set down his purse. He shook out two coppers, and earned a dubious look from the barmaid. It would be enough for the night but he was hoping to get his mule reshod, his armor repaired, and a new pair of boots. "Oh, um, I don't suppose you know of any work around here then? I can write very well if someone needs their letters done. Or a sign made!"

"The Widow Brie does that. And she doesn't ask for coin."

Ollie frowned. He rather liked doing reading and writing for people. It made him feel useful, and everyone was always so grateful for it. The young man let out a long sigh and corrected his stature, trying to look imposing. "What about a monster hunter? I... I can fight, you know!"

The barmaid gave him a cock-eyed look. He was mostly smallish and bespectacled, though his arms and frame were thickly muscled. "I never heard of any monsters lately. Maybe Lady Rhys might know, but the militia and wardens mind the wood. Heard Misses the Widow Brie could use help plowing her field and around the farm. Strong back like yours could manage."

"I don't usually do that sort of work." Ollie snorted in annoyance, he was good for things other than grunt work! But glancing down at his meager savings, there was little choice. "Well, alright, Where does she live?"

"Hey wait-!"

Despite Liam's protests Kana, having no such taboo, ran out across the vast expansive of their floor to meet up with Ria. It seemed more like a castle courtyard than a cramped dormitory. "Looks like Liam messed up! Totally forgot about shrinking our clothes!" Kana grinned broadly, studying Ria's garb which looked like something out of a pirate story. Or a swashbuckling novel. Something fancy. "And that looks amazing! You should definitely have a hat. Maybe a pointy one like a wizard? Guess you are a wizard anyway. Maybe a big floppy hat with a feather?"

"Can you just give us our uniform?" Liam chewed his lip, blushing.

"Don't listen to him! This doesn't bother me if its any trouble, but we wear that uniform every day. Give us something fun!" He paused, then asked in a small, hopeful voice. "Maybe like from back home? I don't know if you know what that looks like..."

"Fine. I just don't know if we should do this now that I messed up. What if I forgot something else...?"

QuoteLady Ashpire,
You wrote to me asking for two books. The first was The Many-Starred Veil Vol. I by Flemulus Grix, on how to find places thin between the physical and spiritual worlds. The second was Internal Alchemy by Ewan ap Rhys, on how to change your humors through diet.

I cannot deliver them to Darken Vei. If you want to see the books before buying you will need to come yourself or send someone. My shop is by Northgate. There is an eatery there, Sakaya's Slophouse, where you can find clean beds. Stay there and I will send word.

-Niamh

Niamh sat at her desk pouring over a ledger. She had more than enough coin squirreled away, though business had begun to slow in recent months. "Someone putting the squeeze on necromancers again, you think?" she mumbled to Jeb, a porcelain frog clad in an ascot and fishing rod. The shop had many cheap trinkets just like it, all a ruse to disguise the true nature of her business. As much as she hated to admit it Niamh had grown accustomed to them. To the frogs at least.

It had been a month since Niamh sent the letter to Lady Ashpire. She did not expect much to come of it. It actually did not sit well at all. A young girl, with no academic background, sniffing after random and unrelated magical books? Her usual sort of customer would kill, quite literally, for the chance to find and steal her merchandise. But Niamh couldn't pass this chance up. The girl was offering a small fortune for both books.

"Hey, kiddo!" she called out into the maze of shelves. Silence. Probably deliberately. She rose from her desk in a huff. Eventually she found her quarry, a small boy perched on the window-sill and juggling a ball. "Ewan!"

"Oh. Hi there!" he was transfixed by his attempts to toss the leather ball higher and catch it. There had not been actual magic to do in weeks, and the other chores to earn his keep were mostly done.

"Maybe don't bounce that indoors." She was met smirk of amusement.

"I need you to go to Sakaya's and see if that girl, Raisa, is here. Bring her back here if she checks out."

--

Sakaya's Slophouse sat amidst the maze-like shantytown that climbed Zantaric's western walls. The upper floors served as a cramped boarding house, while the bottom floor was an eatery. It was dark inside but for the glow of a firepit at the center, tended by an enormous woman with the face and tusks of a pig. The air was hot and heavy with the aroma of grease and garlic. Various grotty sorts sat hunched around tables finishing off their midday meals.  There were fisherman in reeking overalls, tribeless Adelans on break from farm labor, and whatever else passed for honest folk in Zantaric. A small Serenian boy with a shaved head, clad in sandals and a loin cloth, darted into the inn and ducked around a server, nearly tripping her in the process. It was hardly like adults stood aside for him! He pattered up to the bar.

"Hi! Uh-" he stared up at the boar-woman as she ladled gobs of heavy soup into a bowl, meeting his gaze with dark glowering eyes. "-So I've asked over and over and over and over, but, has a girl called Raisa Ashpire come to stay?"

"Come on Dylan! He's just trying to be, what's the word? Precise?" Kana shot a look to the blonde boy, who sat smugly atop one of the bunks. "But you did a great job Ria! Its the best Thanati bag I ever saw!"

"But you-" Liam added in a small voice, biting his tongue. Kana had no idea what anything Thanati looked like, besides Aahva. "In any case let's get started. Here, we'll put the bag on the ground, and Dylan can make sure Skrudge gets it."

They went on to make the final arrangements. Their miniaturized equipment was placed securely in the hidden compartment and the sinister-looking Thanati spirit bag, or whatever it was meant to be, placed dutifully on the floor. Then he poured the brine from the pickled mouse's tail into a censor, and began wafting it both toward Ria, Kana, and himself. It smelled terrible and the trio began to get very, very light-headed. The room around them swirled and suddenly there was blackness and the sensation of being swaddled in cloth.

"What?!"

"Where are we?! What did you do?!" Kana flailed, striking at the linen walls to no avail.

"I don't know! You do this all the time! You move my arm when I'm doing a spell and it messes up! I think we teleported or something..."

They sniped back and forth in a panic, flailing and tumbling about in the dark. Finally, Kana and Liam saw light and scrambled free. The boys were met with a cool rush of air as their predicament became clear. Liam had made them smaller, certainly, but not their uniform. Across the room they could see a similar pile of empty clothes. And tower above them, high as the moon, was Dylan. Liam yelped and darted to the safety of an empty sleeve to cover up.

"Well I don't think he's gonna hurt us. This was all just an accident. Besides I want to see what this is all about- hey!" Once more he was tugged off down the street and back the Blue Orchid. There was a small lot behind used for composting and drawing wellwater. Joan had always seemed rather annoyed with letting the boys in and out of the Boarding House, so it was a place to rest during the day.

"Do you, um, think Taza's going to be cross?" he added in a small voice. She was not going to take kindly to today's excitement.

Sage just smiled. He was glad to see Sarah happy about her magic. Of course when he used mimicry, even when they were young, he was able to carve an entire ice sculpture. Not a very good one and more of a snowman, mind you. Not that he'd remind her. He  gave his sword a twirl and sheathed it with a flourish, something the young lord had practiced more than he cared to let on. "In any case I suppose we should meet your friend. Hilda? No. Hildegarde.

"You were telling me something about her and slavers before all this happened..." he gave the dead lizard a nudge, watching as the two boys scampered off. "I hadn't meant to frighten those two. Met them on the bridge and they thought I was a robber..."

Niamh crossed her arms, studying the halfling. Probably her first time in Zantaric. "Had a shop in this town for a few years. Got Friends who make sure I don't get robbed. Nothing to fear doing business with me-"

"Well you don't have to turn lead into gold! There's lots of other transmutations that ought to show off what your stick can do! Bjoran's Boreation could make your mule there grow a nice arctic pelt. Could melt the door hinge with Ferrodynamic Fluidity." Ewan scolded, enumerating various spells on his fingers in a huff. This halfling was the one traveling here, not the other way around! What did she know about the city? "I can test its strength if you- hey!"

"That's quite enough. You have chores to do." The shopkeeper gave the child a gentle swat. She kept the kid around to keep things clean and occasionally do a bit of magic, as she herself could not. And this was about selling a book, not debating magical technique. She fixed her gaze back to the alchemist. "So you want just the one book? I'll need to value the gems, mind you. Given the rarity of the book the wand and four rubies are what I need to break even. How's that work?"

Wester Highlands / Re: The Contraband Caper [Quaggan]

It took a few days to gather the materials. Ria, of course, was tasked with creating an appropriately sinister bag. Meanwhile Kanaliam had set to work assembling the remaining components. It was quite a bit of painstaking work to assemble the spells needed for such a heist. Soon enough, the trio sat in Kanaliam's drafty dormatory, hovering over a desk with various assembled items. A fourth young male, with wispy blonde bangs, was perched atop one of the bunks. Dylan was meant to place the purse in the Library after dark where an imp might spot it. Several things were assembled:
-A pickle's mouse's tail for Meromir's Miniaturization.
-A snakeskin shed during high summer for Meromir's Gigantism. This was, of course, extremely tiny.
-The skull of a dog, which could sniff out the location of a named object over any distance. Miniaturized.
-A brass rod capstoned with a mist-filled glass, made to temporarily sublimate minerals. Also very small.

"Well, this is everything! This here will let us shrink down, hide in the Thanati soul back, and grow back up. I don't know what to expect in the drawer but the skull should locate our things. And most importantly there's this rod!" Liam preened, running a hand through his hair, uncharacteristically chatty now that he had a chance to explain his plan. "I'd suppose for something as mundane as student contraband if he is going to ward against magic its going to be doors or locks. This rod can temporarily turn minerals into gas. We ought to be able to bypass any containers he'd got them kept in. No one thinks to protect the walls of a safe against intrusion.

"Have I forgotten anything?" The question was only a courtesy. Of course he hadn't!

"Nope!" Kana grinned broadly, giving a thumb's up. It seemed very unlikely he was paying much attention at all.

"Well I've never broken into anything before. Have you? It makes sense. I'm just leaving a bag on a desk." Dylan offered only a shrug, though his lips were twisted into a dubious frown.
#14
"R-really? Oh, thanks!" Kana felt his face flush. Preening fingers ran along his hair.  "I guess It just takes getting used to, you know, when its not your usual hair. Mostly mine, still. What's it called where there's just a tiny bit of Liam's blonde? in mine"

"Highlights." Liam corrected, tilted his fork to bat the knife Kana was holding. "Hey!"

"Sorry," Kana smiled, and began sawing the hunk of fatty, salted meat added to their stew. Ordinarily hunger got the better of him and took precedence over chat, not that he didn't like talking a lot. "Your color is nice too. Were you born that way? I know some Serenians are blue and green and pink and all that. Does it mean you're more, uh, magical for it?"

His other head, meanwhile, quirked a brow at Ria. Their new acquaintance had dropped a few hints but it was clear he did some experimenting with magical cosmetics and beautification. Such frivolities were forbidden, especially for students, who were made to sweep and mop by hand rather than waste magic on mere comfort. And if it was an accident - well - it was surely a very lucky accident.
#15
"Well we got a comb. Liam does anyway. But his hair always curls right back, kind of, see?" Kana twisted a little, bringing Liam forward for inspection which prompted a scowl. "But we have the same sort of hair. Its kind of weird, like a combination. I even got some blonde now! But how long do you need to brush? I always hear girls saying they do it for hours but that seems ridiculous.

"Do you have any, um, suggestions on what to start? I don't really know anything about hair oils, or soap, really." He asked hopefully, earnestly excited by the prospect of beautification. He seemed quite shy and nervous, unusually so, for a loud young male who enjoyed wrestling and fist-fighting.

Liam gave Kana a side-long glance, looking a little surprised. It was strange but almost charming to see Kana actually be fussy about something for once. Though Liam resented the notion his grooming was somehow subpar. "Anyway, I guess it really doesn't need to be authentic. More a matter of looking sinister, you know? So you think you can manage?"

"Ugh! We can talk about that stuff later. Let's just relax now, alright? I wanna hear about this stuff!" he offered Rianharr an eager smile.

"Well we're all here to plan this." Liam mumbled, "And my hair is fine." But was it?

"Always knew alicorn to be the horn itself. I've only once, before this, heard of a winged unicorn being called an alicorn. Thought I was being taken. Got offered the horn, too. Damn shame." Niamh mused and gave Tathfheithleann a look. The halfling seemed pretty confident in her assessment. Niamh still had her doubts. Probably some magically altered cryptid for a wealthy child's amusement.

The demonstration went well enough. The monster hunter did not have an eye for the particulars of spellwork. She knew simple wards, which was more than enough. On a deeper level Niamh knew how to sense the ebbs and flows of magic in a thing. The horn and spell were potent. Enough to fetch something, anyway. "Good craftsmanship. I'd say it buys you his journal. Gems should handle Tulathyl's if you-"

"Hey!" A voice interrupted, taking an officious tone. Ewan had been lazing against a bale of straw, watching the display. He was rather sore about needing to feed the ox, of course, he had to earn his keep when Niamh didn't need his magic. Even if she didn't like him conducting business or annoying customers the whole affair made the boy bristle. "If the horn is meant for transmutation we should see it do some transmutations, yeah? And stress test it against something, too, because mostly you use an implement for amplification."
#17
"Well it would need to really catch his eye. Not just be, um, Thanati but obviously occult. It needs to have bones, charms, hints of necromancy." Liam hesitated. Mostly he didn't want to talk to anyone. But you didn't go up to some Thanati and ask how to create an authentic soul pouch or whatever nonsense they got up to. "I'm sure we can find a book easily enough. Some travelog or something..."

"We can find someone who isn't Ahva. It will take two seconds. Come on!" Kana jerked their shared body into action. And soon they were drifting down the tower stares to the dining hall. It was still early in the evening. A sparse collection of students dotted the long tables, and the students on kitchen duty for the month had begun assembling pots at the front of the room. Lamb and potato stew seasoned with rosemary, pumpernickel, and an apple tart.

"Wait I want the bread stop-" Kana had to snatch a slice as they passed.

Going to make us fat. Liam frowned, scanning the crowd carefully. "Sorry. Um, so is anyone from Thanatos?"

"We'll worry about that later. We should eat!" The three boys made their way to the end of one of the massive pine tables that lines the hall. As they did Kana turned to Ria, reddening a little. "So I had a... question... It's kind of silly.

"How do you get your hair nice like that? Like soft? Ours is always messy. Like when I take my braid out its not, like, nice?" He brushed a hand through his hair for emphasis. Though breaded it was a messy of cowlicks and split ends. Their dinner companion has the kind of shiny hair you'd see in paintings of heroes. Or on a girl maybe. How to achieve that softness was a mystery. One Kana meant to solve.

"Speak for yourself." Liam grumbled, stabbing hunk of lamb. His grooming really was not that much better. Of course in his mind Liam was the more refined of the pair. More to the point, Kanas sudden interest in fashion was... an unexpected enough turn to warrant a look if surprise.

Nothing about Niamh seemed to suggest she was Connlaothian. A pale face muttered with freckles, turquoise hair, and an upturned nose firmly marked her as Serenian. Nations other than Connlaoth had had a need to deal with monsters and dark sorcerers. Serendipity was no exception.

--

"We'll see to the gems later, but show me the wand. It's been a while since I've seen alicorn. I remember it being beautiful...

"But more to the point, whose going to admit to make something half-assed?" a ghost of a smile crossed her face and she crossed her arms. The young woman looked almost playful and not dour for a moment. "You'll need to demonstrate its value as an implement. In the yard, mind you. I'm sure you understand. Need to know exactly what I'm getting out of this."

"Adventurer or mage? Neither." Niamh offered a smile though it was hardly any mirth in it. "Used to hunt down mages not unlike yourself. Anyone meddling in things they shouldn't be, according to the powers that be. But that was ages ago. More coin and comfort in helping your sort acquire research and materials." The assassin knew a fair collection of wards and simple tricks, but did not like to advertise it. Getting the drop on someone was worth more than being able to douse candles with a fingersnap.

"You rehearse that little speech every time-" The boy rolled his eyes, rather grateful not to be sent to tend the damned mule. This halfling had him moderately curious. He hadn't really gotten to see proper magic in some time, other than the odd criminal armed with some quirk or trick.

"If her mule doesn't need tending maybe Ganthry does." She gritted her teeth, nodding toward the yard. She kept a shaggy red aurochs to move her own goods, and did not want distractions. Ewan left in a huff, front bell jangling.

Niamh's gaze flickered from Linn to her cart and back. No one of means would travel to dress this way. Looking like easy-pickings just invited trouble and attention. "I rather like money. Open to other arrangements, of course, if it's something I can sell." She gave the second book a nudge across the countertop, allowing the halfling to peruse but neve fully letting it out of her control. It was, naturally, a guide to the reanimation of draconids. There was special attention paid not only to the preservation but revivification of the bronchial gland.

"That's a good idea." Liam carefully considered. Planning this was insane and he was almost certain they wouldn't do this, but it was fun in a kind of thought experiment way. "I suppose he might actually look inside. You'd need some sort of secret compartment. Maybe padded. If we were to-"

"That's great!" Kana beamed. "We'll do the miniaturzation spell!"

"We?"

"I can do stuff!" Kana huffed. "I can move rocks around. And remember when I made us bend that sword? It'll be no problem!" He flexed his arm as if that lended him more credibility.
