After the awkward conversation, a raven immediately swooped down, rising short-lived screams from some startled people in the crowd. The smallest of her ravens landed eagerly at her feet, pecking at her boots, tugging at her skirt. She narrowed her eye at the bird and brushed it away quickly. They could be so irritating.
"HEY, watch what you're doing, stooge," she snapped at the bird, whose persistance only grew.
It tilted it's head upwards, locking its red eyes with her's. She staggered once and looked frozen, red-brown eyes dialated and mesmerized by the swirling red ones. The raven communicated with her, telling her of the urgency in which she must acquire this bird at all costs. The bird eyes slide away and she reeled, her head thrown backwards and she stumbled, catching herself on the counter. She panted lightly and gave a sideways glance at the bird.
He was just a bird, right? What would be the difference if she did or not acquire him? She glanced at the raven, but she knew that she couldn't refuse them. She gingerly pulled at her pouch, digging her fingers into it and grabbing a Copper coin. She had, at highest, she had two Bronze coins, and one Silver. She wasn't going to waste anything hire on the bird -she'd steal it if she had too.
"Here.." She offered the Copper coin reluctantly to the main, glancing at the bird.
How was he worth even -this- much? Even the regular ravens that merged with her group of ravens were just random wild ones that followed them. They weren't pets... She didn't buy them. They were free!
