One small step...

Kohl was not listening. In one-half of an instant his blade was drawn, and he was beginning to overtake the others in terms of speed to get to his designated targets.
Gritting his teeth and pushing himself he pushed, and slowly began to bring his sowrd up and to the side, ready for a strike.

"Crap."  Hachen muttered under his breath.  "Just head for the gate."  Hachen yelled to Kohl.  Then, as guards started coming in from the side streets Hachen was waving his wand like a conductor making dirt walls raise left and right to both cut off Kohl and the guards from making a blood bath.  He hated death and thought no one should kill another.

Kohl swung! Again and again he aimed his blade to taste flesh and blood, and each time his blade was greeted by a newly erected wall of earth.

They were approaching the half blocked exit quikly now. Three guards were working on getting it to close, while four had come to stand in their path, directly between them and the outside world.

Hachen started chanting something while running.  Dark clouds started forming ahead and when Hachen was almost done with the chant he pointed his wand at the ground infront of Khol inconspicuously so Kohl would get tripped up and slow down for a second.  That way Kohl would fall behind Hachen as he finished the chant and shot a lighting bolt at all four of the guards at once.  Hachen figured telling Kohl to stop wouldn't work so magic was naturally the next best choice.

The four guards were blasted in varying directions as the thunderclap exploded in their ears.

Kohl's pace slowed to match with Hachen's, but his blood lust still raged ahead. He relaxed his grip and his shoulders now, though, seeing that no more enemies stood in their path to the portcullis.

Speaking of which, the mighty gate had finally been lowered, but now a gaping burning hole sat at it's belly from where the bolt of magic had raced past the guards and clashed with the metal barrier. As far as the heroes could tell their path to freedom was clear.

Hachen picked up pig and put him through the hole before jumping through himself.  "Come on Kohl, forget about killing the guards and lets just get out of here, you don't have to kill anyone."  Hachen said holding out his hand through the hole not only to help Kohl get through the hole, but to help him step into a new life.
