"Uh.." Any word Julius had died on his tongue at the change in Qui's demeanor. At the word 'angel' his mere expression had changed - softened. The pirate couldn't find it in him to pull away when his hand was taken by the man before him, and lifted to those soft lips. He just blinked, dumbfounded as the hand was kissed. Qui's words didn't even register, for when they did, Julius' anger was doused again by the second kiss.
He had a seriously short fuse, but it was surprising how easily Qui was drawing it out. It seemed Qui's temper was as long as Julius' was short. When his hand was released, Julius brought it back to his side - flexing his fingers like something moist had just touched them. But Qui continued on, stepping closer again, to which Julius attempted to retreat, but his heel connected with what felt like a rock - but he didn't fall.
"m'not a lady." He repeated, leaning his head forward a little in defiance, but it seemed as though Qui hadn't heard him, they were standing so close - too close for comfort. His heart was beating so loud, he wondered if Qui could hear it. But he looked up into those eyes before him, they seemed to be gentle - unthreatening. Yet still, if he wasn't human, then Julius wouldn't trust him.
But he backed off, and Julius immediately relaxed, his tense muscles relieving. but when he bowed, Julius' brows lifted. He had never been treated like this, never had his hand kissed nor been bowed to, or even kissed someone's hand. He blinked again, and remained silent for a time. Just watching Qui with somewhat narrowed eyes. The look he was giving the pirate seemed almost.. frightening.
"Stop callin' me a lady, then." He puffed out his chest, suddenly feeling a wave of confidence, "It's Julius, not Juliet." He wrinkled his nose in distaste as he spoke the name. "I aint' no lady, and I aint' no Juliet." But he stepped back even as he said those words, as if fearing he'd give himself away. But the rock kept him there, and to prevent himself from falling, he sank to his knees in the sand, lowering his hand to rest on the rock. "I never once seen you before, what's someone like me got that ya' want?" He said, a frown crossing his lips.
