Kitty

Having been thrown into a body bag Kitty's mood quickly went from overexcited to scared out of her mind. She clawed desperately at the bad, but even with the advantage of having actual claws it was no use. An idea struck the cat girl and she shifted into her kitten form. If they caught the wrong thing they would let her go right? Just in case she opened one of her poison bottles and dipped her claws in.

Kitty waited for what seemed like days before they finally opened up the bag for who knows what reason. Instead of finding the women they caught at the inn they found a kitten cuddled up inside some leather clothing sound asleep. Grabbing the kitten by the scruff of its neck they searched the bag. Obviously Kitty woke up, only to find herself being cat handled. The slavers were confused the clothing of the women was still there but the women wasn't. It didn't take them long to put two and two together. Desperately Kitty flailed about trying to strike anyone with her poison laced claws. She only succeeded in being thrown back into the bag with a piece of unknown meat and a clean rag soaked in water. Kitty was pretty hungry. Shifting back to her human form to squeeze ever last drop of water out of the rag then returning to kitten form to conserve it as much as possible in a smaller body. Afterwords she ate the meat which was heavenly. It wasn't fish but it tasted so delicious unlike anything she had before. She kinda felt guilty for eating it though. She had been taught that fish was the only kind of meat that wasn't sinful to eat.

Now that the learned she had a much easier to feed and keep alive form they started feeding her only enough food to keep her kitten form alive effectively trapping her in the more vulnerable form. Again it was forever till they opened the bag for more than just feeding the kitten. Seeing her chance Kitty bolted out and searched for a way out of the room and away from her captors. Kitty didn't see Miko or any other body bag around. Seeing no way out she tried to slip under the crack in the only door in the room. She couldn't squeeze through and someone picked her up by her scruff again. This time though instead of throwing her back into the bag the man held her in the air while some artist painted her on a large canvas. In the mean time Kitty tried to figure out where the heck she was, how far away from home she was, and where Miko was.

Again days seemed to go by and the next time she was let out she went through what they called obedience training. Basically do what they say or get hurt and don't get fed. Obviously Kitty went with the do what they say. Especially since the meat they fed her seemed to taste so good. Kitty's time in bag soon came to a close as they had reached their destination. It was a hot sunny day and the air seemed devoid of all moister. Kitty was led up to a podium and told to stand next to the picture of herself only herself in her kitten form. She of course was in her human form now. Many other were on the podium with her including Miko. Kitty wanted so much to go and hug her but feared what her captors would do if she did, especially with such a large crowd in front of them. It finally hit her that she was a slave and she was going to be sold to one of the dark skinned crowd of people. What she didn't understand was why she and Miko were the only ones without a veil over their faces. She quickly learned why though as an announcer spoke in the common tongue and began the bid for each one. When they finally reached Kitty the price for her went through the imaginary roof.

Vyraena

Although encased in a bag, Miko didn't panic. She had been in situations like this before when she was still a fox. Poachers and other hunters had often attempted to capture her with traps of all kinds. However, even though she was carefree and appeared oblivious sometimes, being cunning was a trait that Kitsunes had naturally.

Realizing that trying to escape this would only lead to more trouble for herself, and potentially Kitty, she stayed still in the bag and didn't struggle. Eventually, she was taken out of the bag and allowed to remain that way, with the condition that her legs were shackled so that she couldn't run.

For the most part, she had behaved herself and followed the instructions of her captors. She only had one outburst, which resulted from one of the slavers referring to her as a "pet", at which point Miko's eyes began to glow an ominous blue. "I am not an animal!" She yelled at them, and with a burst of spirit energy sent the man flying. After that, her arms were shackled as well, but fortunately they didn't make her go back into the bag.

After a long while, she found herself being led to a podium filled with other people. Miko immediately picked out Kitty as one of them, and sighed with relief. She had been worried about what had become of her companion. When she looked out at the sea of people observing them, she knew what was happening; she was being sold as a slave, and so was Kitty. Silently, she stood there, hoping that if she remained under control an opportunity for them to escape would come soon.

Chenaank strolled through the streets of Essyrn. He was disguised in his favored human form (which is in his character sheet), with the addition of a wide-brimmed hat to keep the sun out. His cane rhythmically tapped the sandy cobblestones as he walked.

Of all the mortal cities on this continent, Essyrn was no doubt his favorite. One would think that the demonic god of wealth and opulence would prefer a stewing pot of culture and art like Uthlyn, but in truth, it was Essyrn's overabundance of debauchery, greed, and gold that drew him to this city. In here, he felt powerful, and it was here that he came across a slave auction.

Currently up for auction were two rather unique looking women. One looked to be a shapeshifter cat, the other...was quite the unique specimen indeed; A Nine-tailed fox in human form...

Redirecting his path towards the crowd, he started moving through them, the bidding already.

Noblemen were bidding wildly for the two, and Chenaank let this all go down as he moved to the very front of the crowd. Suddenly, one of the bidders put forth an exorbitant amount, and the crowd of men was hushed.

"Ten thousand coins! Going once!"

Chenaank keenly observed the two women, then turned his vision towards the man who made the giant bid.

"Going twice!"

Cheenank smiled.

"Thirty thousand!" He shouted, and even some people passing by on the street stopped to gawk at what was happening. Everybody there was stunned. "Thirty thousand!" The auctioner said in a slightly shaky voice.

"Going once...going twice...sold! To the gentleman with the cane!"

Kitty

Kitty didn't know too much about money but she knew she and her friend were going for a crazy amount of it. One could tell that just by the reactions to the crowd as the price kept rising till eventually the two were sold at an absurd price of thirty thousand. Being escorted off the podium and to their new owner as soon as Kitty was in closer proximity to Miko she went over and hugged her. She was so glad that nothing terrible had happened to either of them yet.

The previous owner of the two handed the buyer 2 certificates for each of the two slaves. One was a normal proof of slave ownership certificate and the other was a proof of pet ownership certificate. Having lived most her life with a wealthy shop owner till now Kitty knew how to read and write the common language. Kitty looked at her new owner with predatory eyes scanning him up and down. He looked like a king someone who could actually afford thirty thousand on slaves. She knew of her and Miko Kitty had the much better chance as being treated as a pet since she could actually shift into a kitten form. She wondered which certificate he would end up using for each one of them. Where they were going to live what they were going to do. The future was full of uncertainty.

Kitty began planning her escape. While her captors had taken away her weapons they hadn't taken away her clothing or the vials of poisons hidden within it. Kitty had extraordinary inhuman reflexes and agility. She just needed to wait till she was only with 5 or less people not including Mito. Even if they were armed Kitty could take them down. She began to question her own plan though. What if she failed and they declawed her. That was an unbearable thought.

Chenaank looked to their previous owner, taking the four certificates with a grateful nod. He would decide who would be what later. Normally, these two girls would have been prime candidates for service in his grand palace, several dimensions away. But, Chenaank had a certain...venture... in Essyrn.

He noted that Kitty was inspecting him, so he decided to address her first. Adjusting the grip on his cane, he slowly brought it up until it rested on the bottom of her chin, and he looked her up and down as well. She would do. Most definitely.

Lowering his cane, he turned to Miko, and smiled lightly. He cleared his throat, addressing both of them.

"Your names."

His voice was dignified, authoritative, and level. He spoke with a certain amount of confidence, like a man who had the power to get whatever he wanted.

Vyraena

Miko stood there, silently observing the man before her. After a while, she spoke up. "Miko."

Her eyes glowed a little bit with energy when she spoke. It was somewhat ominous looking. She knew better than to speak unless she was spoken to. She wanted to stay under the radar. Miko wasn't planning on being a slave for long, after all.

Kitty

Kitty wasn't very tall only 5 foot, so the cane didn't rise too far off the ground before it touched her chin. He seemed to inspect her in a far more boundary breaking way than Kitty had inspected him. After finishing his examination he turned to Miko and asked for their names. Miko was the first to speak saying nothing more than her name. After which Kitty spoke. "My names Kitty." she said with a Thanati accent thick in her voice.

Their new so called owner acted as if owning a slave was the most ordinary thing in the world. He certainly seemed like the I can do what ever the heck I want type but with certain amount of intelligence to it. She couldn't help but think about how much experience he has with slaves attempting to make a break for it.

"And do we get to know your name?" Kitty asked. Growing up in Thanatos her whole life, slavery wasn't allowed there, so Kitty knew nothing of slave Etiquette.

Vyraena

Miko shot Kitty a sharp look. Obviously, she had no experience with these kinds of things. Had she even listened to the traders? They spelled out exactly what to do for them!

Not willing to get herself into any trouble unless necessary, Miko waited to see how this man would handle the situation.

DaGlobster

(Just letting you know, I'm changing up how I'm referring to Chenaank, since he's giving you his false identity)

Silently noting Miko's briefly glowing eyes.

Chenaank smiled and laughed softly at Kitty's question. If he was any other slave owner from Essyrn, he might've started beating her with his cane right then and there. Chenaank never saw the need for any of the cruelty the Essyrnis deposited onto their slaves. Chenaank was cutthroat, deceptive, and greedy, but he wasn't necessarily cruel.

"I am Grand Duke Emiris Ibrahim," Emiris said nonchalantly. Glancing around, he motioned for them to follow him. "Come, my carriage is this way. We're going to your new home."

Vyraena

With his reaction, Miko felt a little relieved. Perhaps this man wasn't as bad as he had seemed. Silently, she followed him to the carriage, moving as close to Kitty as possible. "You could have got yourself in a lot of trouble back there!" She whispered to Kitty. "You're lucky that he didn't beat you."

(Got it, Chenaank = Emiris)

Kitty

Miko shot Kitty a hard look when she asked the question. So maybe she zoned out a bit when the traders were going through the instructions Kitty didn't think it mattered. All she got out of it was do what your told and you'll be fine.

Answering the question Emiris gave his name before motioning them to follow. Apparently they were off to see their new home. As Kitty followed him she stuck close to Miko and she did the same. Miko ended up scolding her for the little question earlier. "Well excuse me for not knowing how to be a slave."

DaGlobster

Emiris slowed down slightly, so the two slaves would catch up to him a bit, before he resumed his pace. "I assure you, girls, that you could definitely have done worse than me. These Essyrni treat their slaves like barbarians. They beat their flesh raw, yet still expect them to work for an entire day without rest. Not me, though."

After a short walk, they came upon Emiris' carriage. It was a grand, opulent looking thing, constructed of the finest wood. The metal parts were all cast in platinum, and the carriage had sweeping designs made of glittering rose-gold all across its surface. It was being pulled by exquisitely armored unicorns, and it was guarded by four men, all tall knights clad from head to to in masterful plate armor. Their armor had accents of gold, and extravagant plumes atop their helmets.

Emiris entered the carriage first, and motioned for Miko and Kitty to enter behind him. The interior was plush and just the right amounts of comfortable. The upholstery and window drapes of the carriage were dyed a vibrant and regal looking purple, a color forbiddingly rare in Essyrn.

"I think you'll find working for me to be...tolerable. Wouldn't you think?" Emiris said, expecting an answer.

Vyraena

Miko followed the man into the carriage and sat down across from him. When he asked his question, she responded with "Of course." Other than that, she sat there in silence. Regardless of what this man said, she would speak no more than necessary.

Kitty

Their new owner addressed the two and assured them their circumstances were more than favorable. Kitty wasn't convinced. Their owner motioned for the two of them to enter the exquisite carriage. It was detailed and exotic Kitty kinda wished she had more time to admire it. Having lived with a wealthy merchant Kitty had a taste for the expensive even if she never actually went ahead and bought anything. Everything on her from her clothing to the poison vials had been acquired through hunting. Speaking of poison this was the perfect opportunity. It was just them versus him alone in the carriage. Dispatching him would be easy, but Kitty decided to hold off. This could turn out to be a better life than her last. She did love her previously owner very much though and did hope to visit him in the future.

Anyone who would have looked at Kitty's life would agree she had been living as a pet. Like a cat that got lots of love and pettings from her owner. She would even bring him presents from the forest though Kitty's presents were more useful than a dead bird. In truth as long as you didn't call her a pet Kitty would be perfectly fine living as one.

Their new owner asked them if they thought working for him would be more tolerable. This made Kitty think he was not going to be using either of them as pets, which kinda made Kitty sad. Pets seemed like they would get a lot more love than slave and she didn't know if she could go a whole week or more without being pet by anyone. Back to the question at hand; Kitty being ignorant kitten that she was spoke exactly what she though. "Well that remains to be seen" She replied. Only after saying it did she realize it might have been a mistake and expected a glare from either her owner or Miko.

DaGlobster

They weren't alone at the carriage, the four guards were on board, except they were riding on top. Somebody had to drive the carriage, after all. It wasn't long before they were out of the city and on the desert roads.

Emiris looked at Kitty with a face that suggested trouble was coming, but he laughed lightly instead. "I like you, Kitty. You've definitely got more personality than your Kitsune friend here," he said, looking to Miko without removing his smile. Emiris had an agenda here. Opening a cabinet on the wall next to him, he removed a bottle of fine Essyrni wine and a glass. He filled the glass, and took a sip, placing the bottle back in the cabinet.

Emiris motioned to empty space on his side of the carriage. "Come sit beside me, Kitty."

Vyraena

This was bad. Kitty was getting herself in the situation Miko was trying to avoid. If one, or both, of them were to become too close to this man, or draw too much attention to them, escape would be almost impossible. Unless... Miko began to wonder, she's not worried about escaping at all...

Miko had never considered the possibility that Kitty wouldn't want to escape from their situation. For now, however, Miko would remain quiet and wait to see what would happen.

Kitty

Kitty did not like being favored over Miko not in such an insulting way. It made Kitty realize though for the first time. Even though the two hadn't know each other for more than a day they had already formed a strong bond or at least Kitty felt they did. Regardless Kitty obeyed and moved to the seat beside her owner. She wondered what he had planned both in the short term for example why he asked her to move next to him and in the long term. It was torture not knowing why this wealthy man purchased them. The best guess she could come up with is either he had just decided to start buying slaves or he needed some unique additions to his no doubt already large collection.

DaGlobster

Smiling, Emiris seemed taken with thought for a few moments, before he raised a hand and softly petted Kitty. "Such an odd feature..." He muttered, as his fingers caressed the top of her head and the areas just behind her ears. Emiris smiled. It seemed he was thoroughly entertained by this.

"I'm surprised you two don't know who I am. I've been the talk of the Essyrni nobility for the past year," Emiris idly stated. "Have you two had any previous masters?"

Vyraena

"We're not from here. We were captured in Thanatos." Miko said to the man. She was still better about the situation, and it showed in her face and her voice.

Kitty

Kitty was shocked when her master began petting her head. The act caused her to be very conflicted. The sensation was blissful but should she really be enjoying this she was just sold into slavery. Then again how was this any different to when she was sold into servitude for that shop owner. He certainly was treating her just as nicely. He hadn't harmed but shown nothing but kindness so far. I mean heck he was letting them ride inside the carriage with him. How was this any different from receiving attention from a stranger.

Resigning to the attention Kitty began purring in response. Though her hair was as soft and smooth as fur it just wasn't the same as being pet in her kitten form. In that form more than just her head could be pet her whole body could be. Plus being small meant more of her body would be pet. Kitty shifted into her kitten form leaving her clothing in a messy pile on the seat. Crawling out from underneath her own clothing Kitty curled up next to Emiris and expected to keep receiving attention. She was so absorbed she hadn't payed much attention to the questions and responses that had been spoken.
