Eagle Eyes

She had been walking for miles. A bag on her back, her sister holding her hand, wanting to break down and cry. She didn't know where she was going or what she was going to do when she got there. She just knew she had to get out of her old home.

She was born and raised there. She loved her parent and they loved her. Until they decided to leave her. Once they took their own lives, Acasia felt abandoned. Of course, she didn't want the to be slaves for the rest of their lives, but she did think they could have tried escaping at east once before just giving up and leaving her responsible for everything that they were, including a four year old child. Her sister Antonina.

She was called Tony, and she was always one of the most important things to Acasia. Her first instinct is always to make sure Tony is safe. She would kill for her. Although Tony was four she didn't know how to talk. Acasia never had a chance to help her with that.

She just got used to understanding the little symbols or sounds that Tony would make when she needed or wanted something. Speak of the devil, Tony tugged on on Acasia's shirt and put her arms up in the air. Acasia wanting to make her comfortable was dreading picking her up. But she knew she had to because Tony was so little.

They were still walking by the time nightfall hit. Acasia decided they were far enough from her little community that they could stop for the night. They had a large river right next to them so they had water, and they could go to sleep looking at the stars. They slept through the night without any problems, except for Tony squirming and kicking all night. When the sun started to rise, Acasia was woken by splashing and screaming.

She opened her eyes to find Tony wasn't;t next to her, but instead in the river. She didn't know how to swim so didn't know how to get to her. She looked out in all directions while following Tony down the stream on land. She called out for help a few times but nobody responded. She knew if she were to get Tony out of the river she would have to learn on the job.

She jumped into the river trying to paddle her way to Tony. She finally grabbed her but didn't know what to do after that. Up ahead as they were moving forward she saw a branch reaching out. Once she got to it she grabbed on with her other hand.

She tried to push Tony up toward land and Tony climbed up. She immediately started crying. Acasia pulled herself up and it took a little longer since the river was puling her the opposite way. She eventually got up and right away ran to Tony and held her telling her everything was going to be okay.
