**It was difficult to overlook the fact that she was married... the circumstances of her marriage mattered very little. It was a binding contract in her realm... and there was no way that she could return with him back to his own home world – it would be too dangerous. Therefore, for her own good, it was important that she not alienate herself from her life here; no matter how much she might hate it and resent her life here. There was a painful knowledge that, even if she chose to leave her husband, it would bring a fair amount of dishonor onto her; making her existence in this realm even more difficult then it currently was...**
**Bewildering, considering they had just meant, Licon did find himself attracted to this human – perhaps she had appealed to his darker nature... stunning it into bewildered acceptance considering that she had not reacted in the usual way. There had been no terrified screaming and running for cover when his demonic nature had showed itself and his attentions had rounded on her. It had been a very confusing change of pace for him, but one that was surprisingly welcome.**
**Him remaining here with her was not an option – he had his own obligations back in his own realm. Besides that, his kind were feared and loathed in this place for the most part. Her associating with him made her a target just as much as it did him. Unfortunately, though, unlike the raw brute strength and psychic inclinations that protected Licon from harm; Flavia had no such talents. She would be at risk for much of her life... and that was something that just couldn't be allowed...**
**At least the arrival of the spy drew him away from these depressing thoughts, even if he could initially do very little about the intrusion. Still, whoever Flavia's husband was obviously didn't have too much sense when picking spies... the man could have made a clean escape and departed with Flavia, leaving Licon unable to do anything at all in retaliation...**
**...as it was, Licon was given the opportunity to assist Flavia the instant that the idiot decided to attack him; Licon's movements had been fast and relentlessly precise. Initially, he had kept a wary eye on Flavia; ensuring that she landed safely and was able to get to relative safety behind him. Her attempt to kiss him was barely noticed – by that time, he was already occupied in holding the spy to him and pulling his arm painfully backwards. Of course, there was the instinctive struggling from the mortal in his grip... but this was easily disregarded – in fact, the more the smaller man struggled, the tighter and more painful the demon's grip would be.**
**It would have been quite disturbing if Licon had seen the impressed look that had encroached onto the young woman's face... or if he had detected that little noise she released. It simply wasn't natural for a human to get any degree of pleasure from seeing another of their kind tortured – but, perhaps, Flavia had suffered too much at the hands of other humans and so had become relatively disassociated from them as a whole. In a way, he could commiserate... sometimes fitting in with your own kind could be incredibly difficult...**
**The mortal male was foolish though... instead of just complying and saving his own skin; he refused stubbornly and spat another bitter insult at Flavia, as if she had been the one to bring about his current predicament. Licon adjusted his grip very slightly; of course, the man's arm had already dislocated from its socket... humans were surprisingly resilient creatures; but their bodies had their limits. Even with very little force on that doomed arm, he could feel the bones in the wrist begin to creak and crack from the pressure. Licon wasn't known for being a torturer – but he could be just as violent as the rest of his kind when he became irritated enough. There was a grim smile given to the man, unseen from his current position looming above him and a few more low, threatening words were given.**
"If you apologise, you'll keep your arm. Are you sure?"
