The last thing Aranthi remembers is diving to the depths of a pool in that lush forest she had called home, reaching for that brightness that had been so tempting. She now finds her back to a large stone wall, her hand reaching toward a white building, lit by the sun. It's blinding, and she can't tear her eyes from it. She brushes her hair off of her face and staggers away from the wall, drunken with the desire to know this place.
"Amazing," she whispers, in awe of the architecture and light. Her slim frame shivers slightly as she tries to take everything in, refusing to blink so she doesn't miss something.

Of course, the staggering about draws the attention of the town guard. Or at least, one town guard, and a passing Mordecai. The elf's behavior wasn't anything particularly troubling of course, Devilyn was merely in favor of taking all necessary precautions. If she was actually drunk, it would be in everyone's best interest if she or Britt were to escort her to her home or an inn before she hurt herself.

"Is everything alright, citizen? You seem somewhat off balance," Devilyn asked, pausing for a brief moment and shutting her eyes with a sigh. At least she'd caught herself this time, if a little late. The taller guard behind her was fighting back a smile, but kept his peace. Britt enjoyed watching her anytime she caught herself in a mistake, no matter how small, but he wasn't about to publicly call her on it. Privately though, he'd be sure to tease her about it until she purchased his silence with a pint of ale. For a Connlaothian woman, Devilyn was a bit on the tall side, even if that only put her a couple inches or so over the stranger before her. Britt, the town guard accompanying her, was equally outside the norm, standing as tall as 5'10". Each were in full armor, though their relaxed posture should have done well to suggest to the stranger that they were merely checking on her well being rather than suspecting her of any wrongdoing.

((A person!!! Haha...))

Arm still outstretched, for the first time, Aranthi blinked, and in so doing, was entirely blinded again when she opened her eyes. She lost her balance and staggered toward the guards, catching herself before she bowled them over, however impossible that actually was. Aranthi futilely brushed her hair behind her ear and attempted to regain her composure. Her appearance gave her away as an outsider, as though her behaviour didn't do that on its own; most of her clothing was made of leaves and other natural materials, held together with strips of bark and her feet were bare. Her attempt at composure and normalcy was foiled as she was instantly drawn in by the sight of their armour and weapons, which screamed of heroic deeds and quests yet to be experienced. Her eyes went wide and she reached out her hand toward Devilyn to touch her armor.

"Beautiful," she said, in what could have been confused with a spell-like trance, her eyes wide again.
