The sun was hot overhead, burning down upon the chestnut's back like flames. Sweat dripped from his chafing thighs and in between his forelegs as he strode through the streets at a slow pace. He had just arrived, his nostrils still flaring as he sought to regain his oxygen, his eyes following his horn as he turned this way and that. A tall spire of a nearby temple peeked above the rooftops, catching Del's interest as he lifted his head and scanned the streets for a path to follow. There weren't too many people in this heat, nor in this part of town, but it was speckled with enough businesses to suggest busy-ness during later evening hours.
A nearby business looked promising, but as Del started towards it, he snorted with frustration and reeled backwards. Of course. I'm a unicorn. Laying his ears back, he wrinkled his nostrils with frustration and turned away. They wouldn't let him in.
