By the time she stepped into the forest, outside was dark ( but, luckily for Lis, whose sight wasn't the best, not foggy ). A few small stars shone nicely on the night sky, and she felt watched over by forces she couldn't understand.
She had Silver, her white tracker dog, with her. It wasn't fully grown, but it sensed magic all the same. As Lis advanced in the forest, the dog started to snarl.
Right then, she knew it was the right place.
The place the old man was talking about in the letter her father received; an anonymous lord asking for help, because the forest region in Adela seemed haunted by demons. Lis thought it was a good mission to put her swords to good use, after she took a break from fighting and devoted herself to forgery for some time. She was starting to get rusty, so the quest came at the right time, Lis thought to herself.
As she was getting near the center of the forest, Silver began to howl in an alarming way, with a sound that seemed like a mix between a hurt animal and an angry, ready to kill, wolf.
Lis started to feel the demonic presence too. She touched her sword. Her hands got gradually warmer, untill she was sure she focused enough magic in the weapon to be ready to attack at any time.
Suddenly, she heard fight sounds going on. She ran to the source, only to see a bunch of demons dancing and crawling around a red-haired woman...

Due to the starlight, the night wasn't completely devoid of light, therefore Elowen's elven sight was able to pierce the dimness of it easily. And a good thing it was too as the sun elf warrior was currently in the middle of a fight. Demons of different kinds surrounded her, some fighting back while others hung back, either to taunt her or let their comrades have at the red-haired demon hunter, thinking she would be no match for them. But really, Elowen was just getting warmed up here.

Swinging her holy morningstar at the demon in front of her, it not being able to dodge in time, the sun elf was able to leave a blistering burn wound on its hideous features. It howled and lunged at her again, but she kicked it with her foot in its midsection, once more swinging Demon's Bane. It crumpled dead on the ground before her, but she wasted no time to relish in its demise for another was sneaking up behind her with a fiery whip. It was a succubus, her silky black hair and milk chocolate skin seeming not to match the cruelty and deviousness in her red eyes. Elowen was able to avoid the strike her way, and made to counter another hit from some other demon who decided to rejoin the fray. As did another.

While Elowen was busy with the latter two, the female demon of lust was able to get out a spell muttered, soon gripping black spiky tendrils erupted from the ground, holding the elf in place. Immobilized, she fought to break free of her confines, not seeing the newcomer and her white tracker dog arrive on the scene to help...

" Need a hand? " Lis said loudly, raising her sword and pushing it in the succubus' back, which disappeared with a  scream that sounded almost like an echo, and leaving behind  a cloud of thick dark smoke.
The demons that were just a minute ago enjoying the show of the elven woman getting hurt and held in place by the creature's tentacles, now were all jumping on the two of them. Lis slashed around with her sword. " Are you okay? " she dared to ask the stranger.
She couldn't hear the answer though, because she kept hearing voices in her head; demons, trying to get hold of her, trying to make her fear and lose her breath.
Echoes of people she was forced to see dying entangled in a song that was a torture to Lis. She felt herself burning with anger.
" Argh! " she let a scream come out, as she pushed herself into battle again, swinging her sword. She slashed a demon whose face kept changing in a try to scare her, but at the same time another one attacked her from the side, scratching her hip.
Lis screamed in pain.
The demon group made satisfaction noises that made rage build up inside her. Trying to ignore the pain, she jumped high in the air, letting out a strange, yellowish light. " Move! " she had time to tell the warrior woman before her hands created a nice sphere of energy that she threw at some spirits. She managed to kill three with the attack.
With her feet back on the ground, she realized she didn't know where Silver was.

With the death of the succubus, the spell holding Elowen in place dissipated, leaving the sun elf free to rejoin the fight, swinging Demon's Bane in a skilled, but nearly brutish manner. These things had to die!, she thought, her own rage building up inside of her.

Blocking another strike with her enchanted shield from a lesser Balor, two more fiends launched themselves at Elowen and the two newcomers. Too busy with fighting, she did not hear the woman's worried question. Her adrenaline rushing through her veins, she first killed one demon, then another. Another succubus, this one with purple hair and glowing green eyes, put a palm up to unleash a spell of her own. Soon enough, magical darkness filled the premises, but not before a bright light burst in a five foot diameter, killing three more of the demons and therefore negating the spell of darkness as well. It was pure and utter chaos here.

The purple-haired succubus simply began the casting of another spell, but was interrupted by Elowen swiping her morningstar at the female demon's neck, cleanly decapitating her in one swift motion. A third succubus hissed at her and raised her whip to strike the sun elf, while a group of Vrocks and couple of shadow demons advanced upon the green-haired human woman, surrounding her in a circle, some taunting her while others made to strike out with a variety of claws, teeth and shadowy tendrils.
