His footfalls left deep impressions in the soft riverbank. Even with mud welling up between his human toes, Caspian couldn't focus on anything beyond the pocket watch nestled in his protective, cold hands. He turned it over in his palms, ran his fingertips delicately over the intricate carvings in it's silver carapace.

It wasn't much - he'd just swiped it off the last body he'd devoured about a day ago. The fool was a Connlaothan who thought to challenge /his/ power... but the rainy night was Caspian's element, for sure, and the human didn't honestly stand a chance against such a powerful force of the Unseelie Court. They rarely managed to survive the wrath of the Caspian Sea.

The fae spirit in question was now merely walking along the edge of the river in the darkness of the lonely night, the wet state of his green-black hair bouncing back moonlight like shallow water. He wasn't particular on man-made items, but this... It was like a beautiful river stone that would never wear away against the currents. Plus, the soft 'tick tock' it emitted was admittedly soothing to the kelpie. He cradled the metal orb to his ear, angling his head against it much like a cat would it's owner's ankle.

He was becoming incredibly fond of the damned stupid watch. It was disarming him so much, he felt he might fall asleep.

So, it wasn't much surprise when Caspian ended his walk at the base of a nearby tree. It wasn't typical of kelpies to sleep above water, or to allow such vulnerability at all, but it was worth the risk. The waters here were choppy and loud, and the river rushed with a ferocity that threatened to whisk away the treasured watch. For extra measures, Caspian looped it's silver chain about his neck a couple of times until it was nearly uncomfortably wound there, and so the watch would rest lightly against his chest while he slept; rising and falling with his deep, even breaths.

Slumped against the base of the tree, he dozed off with his head bowed and his arms crossed lightly over his bare stomach. One could wonder, since Caspian /seemed/ a normal boy in this form, how he wouldn't freeze to death wearing naught but a pair of tattered pants outside at this time of night. Or maybe they'd just notice that the pants belonged to a man that had gone missing a day ago...

(( Sorry, it was kinda rushed. >< I didn't really know how to start! But I tried to make it easy for Tithe. x3 ))

(( It's lovely <3))

Orange shining eyes followed the Kelpie, though he looked human she could just sense it. while he walked across the beach. Sandaled feet walked sideways while they stayed forward never looking anywhere else. A smirk showing long canines appeared as the stopwatch in his hands was revealed. Tithe was one creature who had refined taste. She liked to steal and sell shiny things, or keep a collection of her own. She would try as hard as she could not to buy them. She'd work for them, but giving away shiny valuables for others? Well, she didn't like it. She sort of fancied herself a land pirate.

The stopwatch the kelpie held was certainly shiny. Plus, Tithe had this fascination with time and how humans measured it. All of that seemed very odd to her, but eternally interesting. The little hands clicking around the clock and that's how they defined their lives. Some of them not even having internal clocks except for their body aging. She found them all so fascinating, so she really wanted that watch. She should have had a decent fear of Kelpie's by now, but...no.

She started to advance through the forest, the grass tickling her feet in her sandals. The earth started to go from dirt, to damp, to more of a muddy surface underneath her. She just loved the thrill of the hunt the case, her prey had made it easier by deciding to take a nap.

How convenient, it was like she planned these things honestly.

Her fingers twitched with excitement as she got closer to him slowly stepping out of the line of trees. His hand weren't grasping it completely it looked like she would be able to slip it out with some relative ease. Her thin fingers reached forward as she knelt down slightly in front of him. Her fingers came in contact with that watch and started to pull it just slightly.

The kitsune fairy was wise to retain a decent amount of caution in the face of a sleeping kelpie. It would do her no good, however... A pull on the watch, even in the most minute degree, would inevitably trigger the chain it was attached to to shift and apply pressure against Caspian's neck. At that feeling, he reacted.

One hand lashed out and encircled her wrist, his cold fingers wound tightly about her petite flesh in a vise grip. His sleeping face frowned as he reeled her in with that hand, crushed her down onto him and kept her quite snug against his chest with his other arm coming up around her to cross her back and ... hugging her, in a way. If she cared to notice, she'd find his entire body was as cold as his hand had been, and his hair was wet enough to drip in freshwater in rivulets down his chest. And by down his chest, it would also translate to right atop her head, since that was exactly where he'd brought the upper half of her body down on him.

Indeed, the kitsune fairy would presently find herself pinned to the chest of a sleeping kelpie with the very watch she sought wedged between both of their bodies. As for the hand he'd pulled her in with, his own had come up to interlace fingers limply with hers - soft enough for her to retract her hand (if she dared), but his other arm would certainly prevent her from going anywhere anytime soon.

All that, and he was still sleeping! Caspian's face returned from it's determined scowl to a serene subconscious, and his breaths returned to the deep easy pace they'd held before. He exhaled innocently over her head, chilled breath ghosting down over her.

Oh, foolish errand.

Tithe could not help but think that this was the last thing she should have done as the hands came moving towards her. For that split second everything moved slowly, and she could see it in agonizing detail right before his arms pulled her down. The whole thing probably would have appeared very comical to anyone but Tithe. She however found it the opposite. Damn Kelpies. She would know not to touch them anymore. Ever.

It was almost like a lovers embrace, the way he held her, except it was a little more dangerous. Well, quite a great deal more, depending on the lover of course. She grinned to herself at that thought but then the dripping started.

Drip.

Drip.

Driiiiipping.

Right onto her head and down her face. The water was freezing and she twitched every single time the cold drops hit anywhere that hadn't been hit before. Tithe had grown this sort of aversion to water unless she was bathing, especially if the water was cold.

She was trying to sit and analyze her situation. This was made very difficult by the water, it was like some sort of slow torture to her. She noticed that he was holding her hand, this was an odd sort of position to be in when she should automatically think danger and it was an embrace that should feel safe. It would have been almost pleasant if she knew the person.

Also, if they were not covered in cold, wet, water.

She twitched one last time and gave up pulling the hand that was entwined with his back. Trying to make a small improvement on her situation. She might have been hoping for too much though. Once she got that hand free maybe she could someone sneak away. Though her hope for the day was sort of used up.
