The stars shone brightly in the deep blue covering, but certain light manipulations could be seen from the back porch of Abri's ranch house. Everything had been pleasant that day, and the young man was sitting on his homemade porch swing with his sister, Lacey. She had come over for an unplanned visit, but the elemental was thrilled for the company. He chuckled as she spun her tale via light show, while scratching behind the floppy ears of his shaggy dog.
Some disturbances came from the stables, drawing the man's attention away. "Lacey, could you-"
"Stay here and watch Shep?" The pink-haired lady finished for him. "Sure."
Abri smiled softly, walking into the oversized barn to see his horses stirring. "It's okay," he whispered into his horse's, Tik'ito, mind with a gentle pat to the massive creature's neck. His sister's call and Shep's deep bark brought him back to reality, and he ran out of the stables to see the black and white dog run around to the front of the house. With a small huff, Abri ran after his dog, while Lacey ran after, the skirt of her dress bunched in her fist.
Coming around the side of the building, Abri saw his shaggy dog sniffing around the still form of a woman lying in front of his door. "Sweet Ansgar," he said, rushing to her side. "Lace, go inside and get water with a rag." Though he was exhausted from a long day's work, the life elemental bent down, lifting the unconscious woman delicately and bringing her into house with Shep tripping over his heels. He placed the woman on his couch, and Lacey rushed over with a bowl of warmed water and a rag. Abri sat on the very edge of the couch, gently cleaning the dirt on her face, then laying the rag over her forehead.
"Who is she?" Lacey asked.
Abri shrugged, looking at the white-haired beauty. "I'll let you know when she wakes up."
