Vesd liked to think he was a low key foreigner. Quiet, usually non descript, and tried to make as little by waves as possible. He much preferred to be on the side lines, watching fights and interplays of politics, than be in the forefront of attention. It worked better for his job and his interests.
So when there was a loud commotion and
his name was shouted, the snow elf frowned, stashed his bounty information away in a swath of fabric where it would remain hidden, and slid out of his stall toward the end of the street. Who in the nine layers of hells would be tromping through
anywhere, shouting his name?
It was usually his policy to quiet such actions as quickly as possible, because anyone brash enough to do so was unlikely to suddenly quiet themselves.
His frown vanished, if only to smooth over how displeased he
appeared, and he approached the wild animal with a smooth, calm gait. "So it might be common place to throw the things of other people where you're from, but it's generally frowned upon in human cities, such as this." It was said in a light tone but his gaze was sharp. Drawing any more attention to them was going to be a large pain in the ass, and he really didn't want to have to deal with it.
Not like having a winged horse-man trotting down the street wasn't bad enough.
He turned to the man, trembling, whose stall table had been thrown. He offered the older human a smooth smile and, producing a couple of gold, apologized. "Forgive my associate here. He's not accustomed to... human manners."
There. Damage paid for, amends made. The snow elf, a frequent visitor to Srila, also helped in soothing the blatant fear writ on the man's face. He accepted the gold, murmured something about understanding that other races might react differently, and started packing up what had been left unharmed in the centaur's temper tantrum.
That taken care of, Vesd turned to regard the creature. "Thryore, I suppose? If you're quite done, care to join me down at the end of the street?"
This was a great way to start a meeting.
