Curious.

That was the word that described the current location. It was hot....sort of. Very warm at least. All the heat of the sun seemed to get stuck inside the interior of the jungle and just made it so warm. It was humid too, there was a bit of moisture in the air, which was depressing. It would mean that wings of any sorts would be quite unusable. Which, in the case of the wandering figure in the forest, she had. It was quite a disappointing thing, there was so much humidity that she was unable to fly.

However, she had the ability to climb very well, and she could run fast if she truly needed to. This would not hinder her, but she still enjoyed flying. Perhaps if she found a stream she could swim, if only for a few minutes. Swimming felt a little like flying...not quite, but a little.

No one would have thought the insectoid woman would have liked swimming. Insects had a hard time swimming, and usually drown. Her race was a little better at it though, and the pores in her exoskeleton could close so she could stop herself from drowning. This little beauty stood at 5'10, and she looked like she weighed over a hundred pounds. The exoskeleton of hers is dark, black and a chocolate sort of brown really. Her eyes, pure black but with an insect shine to it. She moved along carefully, her eyes alert and focused as she kept an eye out for something to interest her.

She looked like a queen almost, spines grew out of her body, at the back part of her, leaving her front more unprotected. She had on her head a grouping of spines that grew upward and looked very much like a crown. The top most spike had a strange tip, that blunted into the shape of a spade almost. She was naked however, and she had some definition of femininity, but her exoskeleton hide any true pieces of femininity.

A new aroma caught her senses, and she looked upward at very tall tree. She could see in the branches, a strange fruit that was growing. Her claws sunk into the bark as she began to climb carefully to the heavens. Once in the branches she retrieved the large fruit. She inhaled the surrounding aroma before her mouth opened. It ran vertical, past where her nose ought to be. She bit into the fruit and savoured the taste of it. Gathering a few more of the sweet fruits she descended from the tree to rest upon a dead fall. With her new bounty, and what would serve to be her breakfast, she began to dig into the fruit.

"Delicious." Her voice was just as insect-like as the rest of her. It had a slightly strange quality to it, but one could tell it was female at least. She munched quietly on these strange piece of fruit, ensuring to spit the seeds out and collect them in a strange flap of armour at her side. She would keep these for later, perhaps if she made it to her own world, she would grow them there. Her people would quite enjoy these...

For a moment, she felt sadness. Would she ever get to see her people again? Would she ever get to know the air of her people's world along her body again. Would the winds ever bring the faint aroma of her people's pheromones? However, she perked up once more as she began to feast on the delicious and juicy fruit. Her troubles were washed away just that quickly, by a good piece of fruit. She was unaware the sweet aroma was wafting around the jungle however, but she feared little from the creatures that lurked in the trees or on the ground. Most insects here could be communicated with using her own insect psychic ability, and truly in a jungle, those were what you had to fear.

She wasn't entirely pleased with her surroundings.  The damp, warm air was annoying, mostly because her wings were useless right now.  But at least down here under the jungle canopy it wasn't as bright, so she could see better.

Vaellyia had been walking through the jungle since morning, and still hadn't seen a single sentient being.  Sure, there were animals around, and a few dismally tiny insects buzzing about, but nothing else.  She had wanted to get away from the strange people here, but it was kind of depressing to be so alone here.

"Delicious."

She paused midstep, her large, feathery antennae pivoting about as she tried to place where the voice had come from.  And now she could smell something rather appealing, the aroma of fruit.  Glancing around her, Vaellyia blinked in confusion.  "Hello?"  Her voice was a tad higher pitched than one would expect, given her size.  "Is someone there?"

The attention of the almost ant-like woman was focused more on the fruit, but the sensitive membranes at the side of her head caught upon the distinctive sound of a voice calling out. Her head raised, still slowly chewing on the large bite of fruit in her mouth as she looked around. There had been a voice, she was absolutely sure of it actually. It was feminine, but had sounded slightly...odd than the normal humanoids she had heard before. Cautiously she stood up, still gripping the half eaten fruit. Should she call out, or should she hide in a tree. The voice hadn't sounded all that...predatory, but...things could easily deceive her.

"There is someone here!" She called out, her large eyes looking fervently through the foliage. She started to move, looking for the source of the strange voice. Curiosity was one of her more impractical traits, but perhaps this wasn't as bad as one thought. More so when she saw who the speaker of the other voice. It wasn't a bipedal mammal like some of the ape-ish creatures that roamed the lands.

"You are like me." She observed as she stepped closer to the strange moth-like woman. The tone of her voice was pleased, and curious at the same time. Her face betrayed no emotion however, and how could it? Her face could not exactly smile, not with her vertical mouth...but the spines on her body, save for her crown, drooped slightly to show that she meant no harm, and that she didn't consider this strange moth woman to be a threat.

"I am Sesselav, a Skirr...what are you?"

Well.  She wasn't quite expecting to find someone so much like herself.  Then again...Skirr?  She tilted her head to one side, her antennae perking up a little as she observed the woman.  "I am Vaellyia."  She took a step forward, hesitating a moment as her wings twitched.  It wasn't exactly comfortable in the humidity, but meeting Sesselav was making the trip worth it.

She smiled then, obviously pleased with finding the Skirr.  "Are you from another place, like me?"

Sess carefully let her eyes wander up and down, gauging if the woman would be a particular threat. She didn't believe it however, she seemed like another insectoid like herself. Granted, she was a moth it appeared, at least, that's the insect she closely resembled. Sesselev stepped her foot back as the woman took one step forward. All the spines on her body stuck up straight in defense, for a moment fearing there could be a threat. There was still possibilities of course, and she didn't want to be caught off guard for the most part.

The woman however did not seem like she would be a threat, and like Sesselav was happy to meet someone. "This world is foreign to me, yes, my native home is lost among the twisting ether." Sess told the woman as she relaxed visibly, her body seeming less tense and stiff as she found no threat from this new woman.

Sesselav looked down to the half eaten fruit in her hand before she offered it up. "Would you like to eat some fruit with me? This world has a great deal of sweet and delicious fruit that my people are unfamiliar with." This was going to turn out very well it seemed! Once more the spines that decorated her body slowly returned to a droopy state as she watched the moth woman with interest. She was very much impressed with the wings of the woman, and it meant that the both of them would be able to go flying even...once the humidity died down.

If it ever did.

The jungle seemed to like being so humid it ruined her wings.
