The weather tonight wasn't all that bad, considering the rain plaguing these lands for the past few days.
Erynies walked slowly through the mud and soil, nimbly dodging the holes and rather bug puddles of water lining the path.
Yes, she had heard the warnings. Yet despite this, she still chose to go anyway. Not like she didn't like the rain. In fact, it was one of her favorite times. Rain... there's just something so calming about the constant pitter-patter of water hitting the earth.
Her feet are soaking wet, soiled with mud and dirt. Yet she didn't mind, having walked on worse terrain before, evidenced by the scars on her bare feet. As she looked around, she saw that there were few animals down here, not like those woods she went to before where it was practically beaming with life.
Yet she did notice one thing.
Upon coming into the more muddier parts of the area, she saw lights -like someone had lit up a fire. Campfire, to be exact.
Her long, pointy ears then caught the sound of chatter, then non-human sounds like animals growling. She could hear chatter from them too, most complaining about being locked up in a cage, and having to do stupid stunts for some dumbass fatboy. Some even went so far as to say they'd eat the damn bastard if they ever managed to bust their way out.
She walked further and hid behind a tree, just some distance away now from where those noises came from.
Even through the night she could see the odd scene.
Everything was odd -from the people to the cots they were staying in. All of it seemed to look so... whimsical.
But there was, however, one part that sent her both fear, confusing, an a small (let's face it, it's not all that small) ire.
Several cages line up one section of this group of misfits, and inside... animals, chained and angry. Some though, seem quite content with this kind of treatment. And right at the back she could see a young boy, with messy blond hair, also chained like those animals are.
She wanted to approach them, but did she really dare to? Her feet rejected the thought, stuck in place like glue. Hesitant, the girl stood there for what seem to be hours, before she began walking again, slower this time, like an assassin approaching it's target.
Still at a distance, she finally got to where those cages are positioned. The dark night hid her from view, so she sat there, listening. Her expression grew more and more confused as she listened. Most were angry, yet some were either quiet or content. The amount of chatter going about is confusing to her. She couldn't pick out much info. Not that she was here gathering info anyway. Curiosity got the best of her, basically.
She did notice, however, that the blond boy had stayed quiet up until now. No words were spoken, no expression was shown...
It's as if he didn't acknowledge the chatter going about.
Is he deaf? Or is this simply a show of apathy?
