Today was suppose to be simple, go into Uthlyn, pick up a few supplies and return home. Simple! However, as the life of Sari went, nothing seemed to turn out simple or easy. No, instead of peacefully leaving Uthlyn, Sari was running down the street with a bag of clattering supplies over her shoulder, an open book which she was desperately scribbling runes into, as she ran away from a posse of guards who wanted her blood. Bystanders would look on with utter confusion as to why this women was being chased down, while Sari began to randomly throw bundles of crumbled up pieces of paper, which she tore out of her book, over her shoulder.
One may ask how she got into that situation, and too that Sari would answer, it didn't matter did it? What mattered was getting out of the cities walls, and running off into the wilderness, where she couldn't be hunted down.
Charging forward, jumping over a cart of cabbages, which was quickly destroyed by the group of guards, running after her like crazed blood thirsty bulls. The guards were lightly armoured in leather, and thankfully not high profile enough to be Mordecai. If they were Sari was as good as dead. However they were determined, which Sari admired, although she'd admire it more if she wasn't being hunted down.
The crowds in front of her parted, mainly out of fear and confusion as to what was happening. With her breath heavy and her legs beginning to ache, Sari needed to find a place where she could loose them, and quickly. As Sari charged through the crowd of people, mothers pulling children out of the street and shopkeepers protecting their stalls, she was quick to spot the few alleyways in between buildings. With an idea popping into her mind, she quickly scribbled down the rune for smoke onto a piece of paper within her book. Ripping the page out, she crumpled it into a ball, holding it tight in her fist. Whispering a few words to herself, her hand glowed with a bright arcane power, as heavy smoke began too poor out the cracks between her fingers. Throwing the, now smoking, ball of paper in front of her, she snapped her fingers as she passed over the ball of smoke. The runes on her fingers glowing bright, as the small piece of paper suddenly exploded into a cloud of smoke, and just like that, The Rune Seeker was gone.
The guards charged through the cloud of smoke, continuing to run forwards as they coughed and spluttered, breathing in the smoke. Sari however watched from a small alleyway. Her back up against the wall as she breathed heavily, regaining her composure after that chase.
Now came the bigger problem. Just how was she going to get out of Uthlyn unnoticed?
