Title: Hideaway
Post by: Anonymous on June 08, 2005, 06:53:58 PM
You would think that for someone like Freya, who was always trying to 'stay in the dark', would like the night. But it actually scared her more than daytime did. So as she walked through the market area, where humans were closing up shop, the wolfdog changeling sighed and paused in her movements. Her milk-chocolate hair was held back by a ribbon, but after a day of running and keeping out of sight, strands had begun to fall down by her ears and at the base of her neck. If it weren't for how pretty she was, and how her her multi-hued eyes glittered even when there was barely any light out, most would say she looked pretty rough.

Freya didn't care though. As she stretched, her tight knit gray shirt moved with her. Exhaling she then rubbed the back of her neck, feeling like something was watching her. Oh how she wished Ziar was still here. Her mate had promised that he would find her - but that had been so long ago. Was he still alive? She didn't know, and couldn't go back to the place she was raised to even find out. No, they would kill her. Looking around she spotted an Inn and was tempted to head over there, but she had no more money and knew they wouldn't let her get by freely. Freya sighed heavily and began to walk once more, boots making a soft 'flomp' noise.

Kieli continued to wonder why in wolf honor would he consider staying around HERE more? Okay, yes, it was perfect for humans and all asorted beasts who appreciated this kind of ensemble. But no, he was not one too. He preferred sleeping in the woods then sleeping in the Inn. So he and his sister stood in front of an Inn, debating back and forth. His bright blue eyes were steady and stubborn while her's were patient and unwavering. He didn't know if he should be exasperated or angry. So he chose the many shades of ground and squared his stance to her.

"Why should we stay here? Living in the woods suits us FINE!" He snorted, unable to contain his loud volume or the snappish syllables.

"Why shouldn't we stay here?" She asked with a blink of pastel blue eyes.

God, did he wish he could.. Bad thoughts! Hitting sisters did NOT show good manners or containment. But was he tempted too, or what? He wished he could grab her behind the neck and drag her everywhere. His sister may be more delicate looking but rivalled his strength. So he didn't even dare. Instead, like all big men, he stormed on his heel and marched down the street - he'd make camp outside. Stupid she-wolf.

Wolf.... Dog? He stopped and sniffed around, amazed he didn't see her right away. He titled his head, but smiled. So what, dog was okay. Usually. Then again, not all wolves were the nicest. He knew quite a few who he wouldn't mind putting properly into their place.

"Hey," he said, always attempting to be friendly with canine-type creatures.

She had missed it. How could she have missed that distinct scent?? Freya froze in place, eyes growing bigger by the second and the hair prickling along her body. Male. Pure-blooded wolf. Warily she turned her head only enough so she could see out of the corner of her amber eye. He didn't seem aggressive, but appearances can always be deceiving. The muscles in her legs tensed, and she rubbed her right wrist - feeling the two jagged scars with her delicate fingers.

"Hi.." She said, voice barely audible. Of course, he would be able to hear it fine. Unless, of course, he was deaf. The inhuman creature needed to calm herself, as not to send the wrong signals. But she knew that she was weak when it came to others of her kind.

Kieli could sense her nervousness, which in turn made him both confused and a bit nervous himself. But he calmed himself down - why was he being nervous? With a little more accessing he concluded.. she was nervous. He wasn't quite sure of what. Well, he could see towards him, but because they were strangers and the whole wariness factor. But, of course, he didn't know how deep her 'wariness' actually went. So he stopped where he was, putting his hands lazily on his hip, kinda unsure where to put his hands in his human form. He gave another smile, however lopsided.

"Uh.. I'm Kieli.. Yourself?" He said, kinda unsure of what to make of his new aquaintance.

He kind of just stood their, listening to the lower murmurs he could detect, and the talking from the taverns. He made out some paragraphs of really useless information and tried, with all his might, to solely focus upon Freya. But, of course, a half of his brain wandered back to his sister in the Inn. Okay, he couldn't just let her go around unprotected, now could he?

As he calmed, she did as well - only slightly however. His voice struck her hard and she cringed, expecting the worst. But, he was only introducing himself. Why was he? What did he want with her? But she couldn't be rude. Caustiously she turned around and stood there, facing this 'Kieli' who seemed a bit confused and half preoccupied. He didn't seem much older than her, and he also smelt of a she-wolf. So there were MORE?? Freya took a step back.

"F-Freya.. My name is Freya.." She said, stupidly staring him straight in the eyes until she noticed what she was doing and adverted her gaze to the ground. Her demeanor shrank as well, in a submissive manner. Great move there. Let's hope he doesn't try and kill you now. She thought, now releasing her wrist so her scars were more visible. The ones on her face were prominant. I think the one on her nose is cute, but hey, that's just me.

A gust of wind pushed straight at them, bits of dust from the road being thrown about. Apparently the wind had been powerful enough to untie her ribbon that was holding back her hair. Because when she opened her eyes, having tried to keep out the dirt, her milk-chocolate hair surrounded her face. Freya blinked and then looked around for the ribbon. Damn.. she couldn't find it. She almost whimpered but then remembered she was still in the presence of that wolf. Eyes focused on her feet Freya decided to acknowledge him again, "Can I.. help you with something sir?" Sir? What the hell..?

It was becoming quite clear that this Freya did not like him. Not at all. It kind of disappointed him really - not that he would openly admit WHY - but it was probably because it was being rejected by a female of nearly the same species as him. And the only real wolf contact he had was with his sister and how the hell fun was that? C'mon, he loved his sister but their differences stressed him beyond what it should.. But being with a goody-too shoes was sooo annoying and soo mocking his patience that he couldn't stand her. Almost literally - he'd sleep more than he should just to get AWAY from his twin. Ah well...

And yes, the scar was cute, and her hair and just normally.. and he did spot those scars and he puzzled over them. But it was a tumble inside his head so he was quite confused, the poor wolf. He stood their and wondered what to say, do, or think. So, he cleared his mind and thought strictly on what she had said. Sir? He blinked, scratching his head. And he noticed her submissive behavior and remembered earlier her eyes - but that was before. She remembered the laws, but somehow, it made him uneasy to see her so shrinking.

"Oh.. nothing. I.. uhm, was just curious since you're.. half wolf," he said.

He said shamelessly - he was proud of his wolf heritage. The thought of keeping it a secret for any various reason was beyond his ability to comprehend.

Freya could feel him watching her, probably assessing her size and how easy it would be to just kill her. The thought of death didn't bother her, but how it occured did. She had no ambition to die by the hands of another. As he spoke she looked up and blinked her multi-colored eyes. She figured he had realized that she was a mongrel. So that was why he was here.

"Oh. Well, yes I am. Then again.." Her voice drifted and her eyes fell to the side of her, watching the soft candlelight inside a person's window mock her fear. "I'm also half dog too." Not like it mattered or anything. Freya looked back to him and shrugged slightly, relaxing more and more. True he was more dominant in nature than she was - but he wasn't forcing anything upon her and it didn't seem like he was looking down upon her either. We'll see how long that lasts. She thought apathetically.

At her comment to her being half dog he lifted his shoulders in a carefree shrug. Dogs were okay - some he met weren't the brightest while others he knew could rival some of his packmembers. Then again, human DID influence their blood so he wasn't sure if the acomplishment was all to hard. He sighed and stretched languidly, pulling his body and yawning widely.

"Hmm.. Well... Dogs don't seem to be bad at all," he said leisurely, sniffing the air in big inhalations.

Ah, the smells were awkward indeed. It was a swarm of confusing smells, species he never thought were possible, cats, humans, dogs, horses, birds, food - which made his stomach growl - and nearly every other possible smell. He blinked and the varied scents nearly made him dizzy, him swaying lightly on his feet. Stupid, stupid. Haven't you learned that villages smell foul? He snorted and relaxed his hands back on his hips once again. He tilted his head at Freya, brows lifted lightly as he just didn't know what the hell to say..

"Soo... What brings you here? o.o" He asked, rather curious now.

Why would anyone with such of a superior sense of smell as theirs want to come and sniff these humanish beings?

"I'm just passing through.. I guess." She said, kind of brushing off his comment about canines. Lineage was something she was not in the mood to talk about right now. Now, what she had said was truthful. Why lie? Still keeping her eyes directed away from him she walked forward, and stopped about five feet from him, sitting down on the ground. Dirt didn't bother her. There were always places to clean herself off.

Ah yes, it was true. The smells of villages such as this one were not the most pleasant but, to blend you must sacrifice. Then she remembered the scent of the she-wolf and a shiver of fear ran down her back. It hadn't occurred to her that the other was his sister. She hadn't delved that far into the scent.

Carefully she put her hands in her lap and looked straight ahead. "That she-wolf.. She your mate?" She asked, chest thumping. If not, that could mean there was a pack they were with. Either that or they may just be rogue. Oh jeez, she was getting ahead of herself..

He watched the wolf slash dog move towards him but leaving a nice five foot gap between them. She, or Freya, sat down on the dirt layered ground. Kieli didn't mind either - he was one to be content to lay across the ground. Bugs, creepy crawlers.. All part of nature. Most of his pack came to terms with it. And being curious also allowed them to discover more truths about such creatures. Like ants bite, wasps sting along with other buzzing creatures. Of course you'd rather kill the ones that offend. And sometimes they did - if they were around cubs or elderly. When they were around the others it was something to laugh about as they got huffy from the 'love sting'.

But Freya asked if that other she-wolf was his mate.. He blinked, assuming by 'she-wolf' she meant his litter-mate and twin. He shook his head and almost laughed - or shuddered - at the very thought of him being the mate of Amaie. They'd, either emotionally or physically, tear eachother apart. It was hard enough just travelling together but they always seemed to be at... differences. His sister seemed so open to the villages and these humans - nothing wrong with them. It was just.. they were what they were. So wasting, taking-for granted. Oh, he knew his species wasn't flawless. Oh gawd, did he know it!

"No. My sister actually," he said, another thought entering his mind.

Didn't she realize their scent was nearly the same? Their were very few minor details, like their genders and they each had a very close - almost identical - individual scent. But his sister said he smelled more foresty and wild while he said she smelled more flowery and feminine. But what did he know?

A blush crossed over her cheeks. She was so embarrassed. Another thing she had missed. Taking in another few wiffs she caught the distinct scent that bonded them and she allowed her head to dip downward. Freya swallowed, trying to remove the lump from her throat. "I'm sorry. I just.. wasn't.." Her head fell down more in shame. Tensing she stood up and rubbed the scars on her wrist, and then ran a finger over the ridge of her nose.

Freya was pacing slightly but then stopped and looked at Kieli sheepishly. He wasn't so bad.. Focusing on the soft breeze which was blowing through the village, the wolfdog changeling calmed and smiled, opening her multi-colored eyes at him. She had been about to say something but then her stomach rumbled. resting a sleek hand upon her gut she blushed again and looked at the ground.

"So, would you like to.. Uhm.." Her eyes wavered around, hoping he wouldn't take this the 'wrong way.' Looking back up at him she gave an odd smile, "Would you like to go on a hunt?" freya's eyes sparkled at the thought. Knowing she would be going either way she took in a deep breath, and in a swirl of dust, she was now a canupine [canine/lupine].

Somewhat floppy brown ears flicked as she stood there, watching him and waiting for his answer. Her curly tail swayed behind her slowly, milk-chocolate coat absorbing the little bit of light that was around, while her dark brown markings blended in with the shadows.

Kieli smiled - honest mistake, right? He let his hands rest on his narrow hips, bright blue gaze shifting around him to take in every aspect of the village streets. The dark, nearly 'endless' alleys, the flickering lights in windows, and someone snoring in a nearby home. It was funny how he could see quite well while a human would stumble up and down the streets, keeping to the little light their was. Yeah, his eyes weren't the best but they were quite good. He saw better then Amaie but she heard better. But that didn't matter here.

Suddenly she asked if he wanted to go hunting. And even though his mind had been previously on going to sleep and sleeping at the trunk of a tree. Which had sounded real good to him then, but the thought of hunting sparked his interest. And, of course, a sudden need now. He hadn't hunt in awhile and he was always open to it. He grinned.

"Yes!" He said enthusiastically, blinking and before he knew it she was already in her wolf slash dog form.

Although it was more different for him. He peeled off his ragged tunic, revealing his toned upper body which was quickly becoming covered in thick black fur. His jaws changed, and he was more hunched, and he shruggled to pull off his coarse breeches, his body changing nearly quicker then he could disrobe. When he was left in his wolf form he picked up his clothes in his jaws and put it in a dark corner. When he turned back to Freya he couldn't help that his tail was lifted high - he considered himself an alpha, really. He sniffed, taking in a deep breath. He scented something, a deer it seemed, but it was a bit of distance. Nothing big to them, but maybe she smelled something better?

She watched at how he transformed - different than she. But once he was in his true form she side-stepped a bit. He was large, and a rich black. Freya's body shrunk a bit, tail now hanging loosely by her rump. Nose sniffing the air she also smelt the deer. She didn't eat that much - but he was a true wolf and would probably eat more. Then again it didn't matter again.

Ears splayed out to the side she looked at him meekly, I say we go for it.. Lifting her right paw off the ground she licked her chops and poked him with her paw, tail swishing slightly.

His lips lifted in an infamous wolfgrin, tail wagging lightly. He noticed her submissive gestures, too. The wolf inside him beamed at his new 'follower' while the human in him simply didn't care. He was going to hunt, and the first in nearly a week. His sister had been dragging him around like a ragdoll, forcing roasted food down his throat. However grotesque it sounded raw deer meat was unbeatable. His tongue, in an agreeing display, licked his own jowls. He sniffed the air, took a step, reassured and decided that forwards was the nearest way and then.. if he thought right, to the left they go.

His long limbs struck outwards, large paws smacking the dirty ground, his claws scratching slightly as he pulled himself into an enthusiastic jog. He gave a soft yap, almost saying, "Race ya!" His jog was a bit slow - didn't want to waste good, precious energy. Kieli pushed himself, just a bit to get outside of the village and to breath in fresh forest air. Then he'd slow.. Because it felt like the village was closing in on him, drastically so. It was ready to consume him, pull him in by the tail and swallow him in the disruptive bowels of nasty-and-unhealthy smells. And he focused only on the wilderness and the pawfalls of Freya. That was all that mattered - where she went and how she worked while hunting. And whatever splayed out before them.

Off to hunt. And damn, did it sing in his veins.

Ears pushing forward as Kieli suddenly sprang off, Freya cocked her head and watched him for a moment until she remembered they were going to kill a deer. Paws lifting off the ground in a smooth rthym, the wolfdog caught up to him and nipped his flank playfully before she slowed her pace. It was as if eyes had suddenly fallen upon her. Head dipping she looked around, nose twitching as she silently took in the scents surrounding them.

No one. It was just them and trees and the faint scents of the village. Stop being such a scaredy-dog. She thought. Noticing she had fallen behind considerably she lurched forward, dodging a bush and fallen tree. Granted she wasn't the swiftest of movers because of her one leg, but she was still an able hunter.

Keeping some of her attention focused on Kieli, she also was looking around for their prey. Her body had become closer to the ground as the scent became thicker and more profound. It was around here somewhere. Freya's eyes fell on the black wolf in front of her. Do you see it? She "asked".

The roll of muscle beneath his pelt, the forceful stride, everything to seemed to fit into ancient instinct. He took in the scents her craved on a daily basis, but he too began to slow and choose his way with care as the smell of the deer grew prominent in the air. Kieli knew this was one of those rare times where his control seemed to be at it's zenith, his entire body understanding and thinking. Each step was placed with a deadly silent purpose. He refused to step without making sure it felt.. right. Everything had to be 'perfect', at least on his part.

When Freya 'asked' him if he saw it he, at first, answered a 'no'. He didn't see it, but his mvoements gradually became more stilted and wary until he fully stopped. His eyes were focused ahead, glancing to the wolfdog and then back, quickly, to his previous focus. It was a simple gesture but it promoted that the deer was up ahead. He peered through the underbrush, finding it about a good distance. He paused a moment, but he knew he shouldn't waste any more time. If the wind shifted and favored the deer they were screwed.

He glanced at Freya and, passing it by her the idea of her driving it towards him if he moved to a different point. They had to stay in their range and try to work the deer into a trap. But that was also alot of room - although deers were herd animals how well would it listen to a carnivore? He also passed the other plan of a simple ambush, unsure of what to do. Him and his sister.. well, it never really mattered because of the link between them. All they really had to do was stay down wind, ready themselves and one lagged while the other dodged forward. Then the other twin would just wait for proper time to make themself known.

Freya slowly licked her chops, acknowledging the deer. Her favoured side to hunt was the right. She could make any attack that was needed of her when it came to having her advantage. Tail curling over her back - not noticing that it was higher than Kieli's - Freya began to stalk forward, moving around Kieli's side and staring at the deer. They could get closer, and then an ambush would be just fine with her.
Title:
Post by: Anonymous on June 12, 2005, 05:18:04 PM
The wolf inside him was quick to note Freya's sudden dominance - and her tail. But the human inside him told him to calm down. Then the wolf sparked again - they couldn't mess up this hunt. Kieli took note of her actions and watched her as he then picked his way closer to the deer. He settled into a spot that was as close to the deer as possible without being seen nor smelled. He waited, sinking closer to the ground, getting his legs beneath him for the best leverage. His muscles bunched beneath his black pelt as he waited, growing more excited as they watched the oblivious deer.

The bright blue-eyed he-wolf glanced to the wolfdog, Freya. Was she ready? If she was the ambush should start now. He was ready to pushed forward, poised, but awaiting to make sure she was ready. They could flawlessly execute this ambush - and that's how he wanted it. But, of course, nothing and no one was 'perfect'. He could accept that.

Flexing her limbs that were tucked closely in to her body, the wolfdog looked to Kieli from the corner of her eye timidly. The three slash marks on her left shoulderblade made her nervous. Would all her old injuries cause him to not trust her in this hunt? She didn't know. Realizing his silent question she gave a subtle flick of both ears and lifted her right forepaw off the ground slowly. That was enough warning for him, right? He seemed on top of things..

Freya lurched forward from the brush, the deer's tail flying up so its white underside was shown. Its wide brown eyes looked around in horror but didn't waste time - beginning its treck to inevitable death. The wolfdog's tongue lolled from her mouth, tail straight out behind her now to help her keep balance.

The deer made a sort of bleeting sound as it knicked a hoof on a log. Coming up on its right side she snapped at its heels and flank, then looking back to see where Kieli was in play.

A sudden burst of power surged through her body, and she dodged annoying bushes and a few very loose twigs. She saw Kieli fall back and almost stopped to go back for him but she knew that she was hungry and she wasn't about to loose this. He was capable of- ah so he had already gone for a catch again. Blinking her multi colored eyes, Freya dipped her head and skidded to a halt when Kieli caused the deer to falter.

Standing there, muscles tense, she watched him hold onto the deer's muzzle and realized he couldn't take the jugular. Carefully she picked her way forward and gave a low growl before she clamped down onto the buck's throat. At first all she got was hair. Then as she bit down harder, blood began to slip into her mouth. Hunger ravaged her more and she yanked down. The prey had no where to go, but he wasn't going to go down without one last fight apparently.

Freya had left her old injured limb in a dangerous spot. Contorting its body in an odd fashion, the deer stomped its heavy hoof onto her left 'ankle'. The wolfdog's eyes widened in pain as she yanked down, pulling out the jugular with her. Yelps racked her vocal chords, limping off towards a tree. She heard the deer fall behind her, but the pain had dulled all her senses. The yelps became meeker as she propped her body up against a tree and began to lick her fractured [again] limb.
Title:
Post by: Anonymous on June 12, 2005, 06:53:34 PM
The he-wolf waited until the deer fell to the ground - without a jugular it was definitly not going anywhere. But the piercing yelps of the wolfdog made his head ring as he trotted to Freya who was licking at her injured ankle. He whined his worry, tail wagging slowly behind him, unsure as it drooped. He whined again, turning around and backing away, his body morphing and melting into his hybrid form.

In his form he glanced at her ankle and, instead attempting the weak speech he could manage in this form, he telepathically inserted the words into Freya's head. He stood there, calmly waiting her response.

"I can carry you back to the village.. Do you want to eat now? Or I can also take that back to the village.." He had spoken.

It was her choice if she even wanted to be carried. But in this form was the quickest, modest form in this circumstance. He crouched, bright blue eyes still glancing at her ankle. Maybe his sister could do something? He wasn't sure if she knew anything about healing someone's wounds or bandaging them up. But it was a village after all. It had docters.

Body shaking as he approached she pressed against the tree more, not seeing Kieli but the one who had caused the three slashes, and who had also been the one to break her ankle in the first place. Eyes dodging away from him to the meat she ambled around him, limb off the ground. Ranks didn't matter to her right now. Yanking off a piece of meat painfully Freya limped off and rested under a bush, tearing off large chunks of deer and swallowing them whole. She couldn't waste any more of his time. It had been nice enough of him to hunt with her anyway.

Once she was done eating she emmerged from the bush and flicked her ears, giving him a sheepish look. She hadn't answered him only because she was scared. Changing back into her human form she winced, now standing on two legs instead of 4. "Thanks Kieli :)" She gave a half-hearted smile and then waved, beginning to walk back to the village.

Kieli sighed and watched her, and his human brain - sadly enough - at the moment was dominating. So he stayed where he was, just watching her until she started walking away. He winced and watched his with his wolfish face, whining again softly.

"Are you sure you're okay, Freya?" He asked her while he moved towards the deer, beginning to eat his own half hungrily.

Shifting on his seat, his tail limp behind him, sniffing the air again. He was worried about her and that ankle. Okay, he had just met her but just because he wasn't ordinarily nice didn't mean he didn't have his moments. Yes, he was definitly his sister's brother. But anyway.. What else could he do? Without her he couldn't have brought down the deer, right? And while hunting with her she had hurt her ankle. He felt partially responsible for it.

She paused mid-limp and turned back around to look at him. She blinked and then smiled kindly, shrugging barely. "Yeah, I just have to wrap this up.." Freya's eyes drifted down to her pained ankle. It struck her, then, that if she were to run into trouble this deep in the woods she wouldn't be able to defend herself. Watching Kieli eat from the corner of her eye she frowned somewhat. I can't use him like that.. Then again she valued her life.

"Kieli.. When you're done.. I mean.." She turned all the way around, voice soft. "Would you mind bringing me back to the village? I.. don't feel safe."

Kieli nodded his agreement - he didn't mind playing guard. He did it as a daily duty to his sister and whatever hapless creature made it's way into Amaie's sights. He always wound up doing extra work - ah, why was he complaining? Nothing ever made a threat to them. So he was rather content to play along like he was actually doing something. So he continued his little feast until his stomach felt full. He had definitly reached satisfaction point. He groaned softly and stood up, licking his muzzle and claws. He stretched and yawned and glanced at Freya, his face displaying his sense of guiltiness.

"You sure you don't need any help?" He asked as he stood his full height in his hybrid form which elavated him to about 6 foot, perhaps an inch taller.

He watched her with his bright blue eyes than glancing into the forest. He glanced between the two a few more times but then let his gaze hold fast to Freya. He didn't mind protecting her - it would be a good way to make up. I mean, it was HIS stupidity that got her hurt, wasn't it?

While he had been eating, she had sat down and waited patiently. The sun would be rising soon, maybe in an hour or two she figured. When Kieli finished the blinked and stood back up. So, he was going to help her? She smiled somewhat, "Thanks.. And no, I think I'll be ok." Freya turned around, waiting for him to catch up. She then began a slow limp back to the village. Gah, why did she have to be such a clutz? She didn't know how Ziar could have stood by her side and not be embarrassed.

Memories of their times together flooded her mind. The worst one of all, when he was seriously injured protecting her, caused tears to rim her eyes. Her last memory, even though it was painful, was also a good one. Freya and Ziar had spent a day away from the pack, and had done wonderful things that day. Then - she had fled with Ziar's help. Milk-chocolate bangs fell in her eyes and she sighed, keeping the tears locked away and allowing her face to be shadowed. If Kieli saw tears or any sign of weakness he would probably find her pitiful and put her "out of her misery" as Aldey had stated many times before.

Kieli had never had a chance to have a mate - then again, since his life would be considerably longer than a regular wolf's he had that time to fool around, didn't he? But then again, he never even thought of mates or mushy stuff along those lines. He had been caught up in the whirlwind of his sister's mind. Which, could be extremely exhausting to a relaxed one who could care less about half the things she thought of but FORCED to listen to it ramble on and on. It was a relief that he distanced himself - because the farther they got the fuzzier the link. And when he had someone else to pay attention too he didn't need to even glimpse at her thoughts. But she was rather distant anyway.. It was just odd. Even when she was younger she had always thought different. Then again, to him, her thoughts were simple stories to giggle and fool with. Now, he was finding, alot of them were truths.

He only nodded when she spoke and moved beside her, slightly ahead. He couldn't help it - even now his tail was firmly curled as he moved, glossy black pelt rippling over his toned muscles. But he was sniffing and glancing around, listening to the sweet, innocent melodies of the birds. He watched the things around him, took note to the fine trails that cut into the land. But as the forest diminished and they came closer to the village. He glanced to Freya, then to the outskirts of the village. Ah, just as he expected. His sister was there, a soft, simple white dress and a hat to block out the sun. Their sack at her sandalled feet and his clothes in her arms.

Amaie had been watching for her brother and the mysterious female. Of course she had detected that she was a wolfdog, young, around their age actually, and she had seemed quite nervous around her brother. But of course it seemed to grow more relaxed but that was really as much as she kept track. As she saw them come she bent down, grabbed the sack and walked towards them, smiling. She offered the clothes to her brother who took them and looked to Freya.

"Hello.. I'm------ Oh my! You're ankle! Are you okay?!" Although her voice was soft it wasn't easy to lose as she glanced at the ankle.

"The docter here... Do you need any help? Or money? Or are you going to wrap it by yourself?" Amaie was quite, honestly worried.

Kieli shook his head and took his clothes, went to change and came back, hands on his hips as he took the sack from his sister. Great, the she-wolf was going to stress herself over someone they didn't know.

Taking in a silent deep breath she watched Kieli, pain still surging through her ankle. As they walked on she could feel the air becoming moist. Dawn.. As she took the scent of the sweet dew that was forming on organisms around them she caught the scent of his sister - and she froze. Eyes shooting up she looked around and then spotted the girl. If she was related to Kieli then why was Freya still scared of her?

Stepping back as the she-wolf approached, Freya accidently stepped on her foot the wrong way and cringed, crying out in pain wordlessly. Her eyes once again froze onto the form of the girl who was now in front of her, handing Kieli clothing and asking her questions. Again she stepped back, finding a tree and leaning up against the side of it - fear written all over her delicate face.

And as quickly as Amaie had approached, she mentally scolded herself. It was just she had gotten worried quite quickly. And she had taken the time she knew she should have. Amaie quickly retracted her fair-skinned self, setting a good, near 20 feet between them and looking to the ground silently. What could she do? She quickly became quiet.

Kieli sighed and rubbed his face and then shook his head. What was he going to do with them? Seriously! He sighed and tilted his head, black locks partially disrupting his vision as he glanced lazily at Freya. Scared of his sister? Reminded him of being frightened of a rabbit. He sighed heavily and lazily waved his hand at his twin.

"She's as nice as a rabbit. Nothing to be afraid of," He said and stretched, not too happy to be back in his clothes.

Amaie remained at her distanced place, hands clapsed before her as she glanced at the village, almost longingly as she turned towards her, sighing and let her shoulders slump. She glanced back at them - were they coming? She didn't know.. Not anymore, heh.

She frowned at Kieli, but moved away from the tree and limped forward a few feet. "I'll.. wrap it myself." She said meekly. Once again at Kieli's side she sighed and then looked down at her ankle. It felt like fire was lapping at her marrow @_@ She carefully moved around Amaie and once again stepped down the wrong way. This time she collapsed on the ground, hand gripping her ankle. reaching into her ragged pant's pocket she pulled out a bandanna and began to wrap her ankle. Tieing it off she sighed and began to rub her scarred wrist. She hated being weak in front of others.

"I hope you're okay," Amaie whispered and took two long steps back.

Kieli sighed - such dramatics. He stretched leisurely, yawning loudly. He scratched his head, running his fingers roughly through his black locks. He watched them and lifted his eyebrows at them. Yeah, he was worried, but if she didn't ask for, or it wasn't serious, he wasn't going to bend over backwards. He just wasn't in the mood to do so.

"Yes," he said, lazily referring to what Amaie had said.

Of course he hoped she was okay, but wasn't too sure if he should worry. Sighing he rubbed the back of his neck, fidgetty in these bedamned clothes. Tilting his head at them lifting the corner of his mouth.

Standing once more she gave a sheepish smile to them both and then looked around. Right as she took in a deep breath a musty wind washed past her. Blinking the wolfdog changeling turned her head to the right and her eyes widened a bit. For a moment Freya thought she had seen a pair of golden eyes watching them all from the underbrush. Blinking again the girl then saw that it was all in her imagination. Or, it was supposedly. These days she didn't know anymore.

Tired she yawned and looked to Kieli and his sister. "So.. where are you guys staying?" She asked curiously. She did not want to stay with them, Freya just wanted to see if they were staying in the forest or at the Inn.

As soon as she asked the question the tension between the duo crackled and fizzed in the air as they locked their similar colored eyes. Kieli flashed his human teeth - Amaie didn't move but didn't acknowledge the display of dominance, her eyes still locked with his. They air pulsed, for a moment, and it dissipated, Kieli looking away. Amaie won, as she often did with her brother. Even if the 'battle' was long and exhausting, the fair-lady always won.

"The inn," she said with a smile, causing Kieli to bristle.

Kieli stiffened, the curve to her lips causing the fine human hair on his arms and neck to stand upwards as he shook himself. He couldn't help but to roll his eyes, rubbing his arms as they took thier previous position, crossed firmly over his chest.

Feeling the tension she backed off a bit and watched them. This is the reason she liked being alone sometimes. Conflict ^^; Scratching the back of her head innocently as Amaie stated their resting place, the wolfdog smiled. "Oh alright." Waving simply Freya bowed and turned away from them. "Well I guess I should leave you two be then :) Goodbye."

Kieli could only pause as his mind wandered to the nearing future. And like a big rig accident it was very clear that him and his sister would not stay docile and calm 'enemies' but, instead, come with weapons blazing. And the sorriest part of getting even a glimpse of the future was that he knew that he wouldn't, nay, couldn't, win. His sister dominanted him - and he wished it wasn't so. But as much as he ignored it, it was mutual. They were at the same rank - neither more dominant than the other.

"Please... err.. I mean, you don't have too... It's really bland to hang around one person for months. Especially when they're related v.v," he said, with a helpless look etched along his chiseled features.

Of course he wouldn't mention that he'd like to get to know her more. She was intriguing, this rather timid wolf slash dog creature. He'd never met someone like her, and like his sister said, he should be more open and sociable. Why not try it? There has to be some bonus at the end... Friendship was a start. Or so he thought.

Amaie's attention had already drifted. She had walked away, her attention drawn to the hidden flower. It wasn't all that beautiful - nothing to really attract any attention. But nonetheless she kneeled before it, resting her chin on her tees with an absent smile on her face. She studied the graygreen petals and dark stem, noticing it's slight thorns. She had never seen such a plant.

Pausing mid-stride she turned her head and looked over her shoulder. What was he getting at? "I'd get in the way. Besides.." Her eyes drifted up to the sky which was slowly becoming a lighter shade of dark blue. Freya smiled, face fragile and innocent. "I don't stay in one play anyway. I can't." Bangs fell over her eyes as she looked down at her feet, ankle still hurting but not half as bad as before.

"If I can make excuses for Amaie here, I can make them for ya too," he said, yawning and stretching leisurely.

She didn't stay in one place? She couldn't? He raised a disbelieving eyebrow at her, tilting his head slightly. He gave a small, steady frown on his lips while he watched her steadily. He sighed heavily and pulling his arms over his head and back he recrossed his arms, tucking them loosely to his lithe body.

"Well, we don't have to stay here," he said, glancing at Amaie.

Maybe he could win - but it'd only be half a win. She liked being sociable, so it wasn't a total loss on her part. She just got to miss staying in this bedamned town a second night. He smiled at the thought - he hadn't it. He really, just simply couldn't stand villages. He let his eyes flicker back to Freya.

Did they...or rather Kieli, really want her to stay? Turning to face the wolf she ran her slender fingers through her hair and then sighed. "It's up to you." Freya shrugged, her muilti colored eyes shifting to look at his sister. She seemed to be off in her own world. Freya was always atuned to this one - the one that could cause her harm.

[sorry for another sucky post x_X]

Reaching out she stroked the petals of the flower, her eyes tamed on it, although her ears were attentive to them. She was hesitant, and her brother seemed to want her to stay but didn't want to actually say it. Of course she was growing bored with this slow and gradual silence, and she forced herself to carefully sync in with Kieli's mind, listening to it calmly, hiding the smile lifting her lips into a sweet smile.

Kieli could feel the radiating giddiness becoming near overwhelming and he felt her prescence lingering over his thoughts. He abruptly whirled towards Amaie, glowering at her back as she gave an innocent glance his way, hiding the smile desperate to take control.

"Amaie, get out of my head," he said, emphasizing 'head' with a rumbling growl.

She giggled and went back to attending the flower, sweeping her fingers tips over it's petals. She slowly stood, turning slightly, but her eyes were still captured by the flower.

Kieli rolled his eyes at his sister's innocent and almost childishness. He turned himself around again, so as to look at Freya. He gave a lopsided smile, accentuated with a raise of his brow. He rested his hands on his hips, tilting his head rather thoughtfully, the smile slowly fading.

"Yeah, I guess I do really want ya to come with," he admited in a murmur that provoked a blush to run along his tanned, high cheekbones. He knew she'd hear him.

Smiling in Amaie's direction Freya seemed to be calming down more and more by every moment. The smooth breeze that grazed her neck made her pupils tighten and then widen in relaxation. For a while she watched the twins and then got distracted by a bright yellow butterfly which had tried to land on her head. Poking at it she blew upwards as it flew off.

Feeling Kieli looking at her she then allowed her eyes to rest on his form once more. She blinked and then when he said 'really want' her eyes lit up. It had been a while since someone had actually wanted to be in her presence.

"So, where are we headed then?" She asked jokingly.

Kieli allowed a grin to form on his face, stretching his arms and holding their sack he rolled his shoulders. He glanced around him, eyeing the village as if it was the source of all evil he shivered slightly, glancing between the two girls with a raised brow. He then eyed the faint paths traveling and twisting into the woods. He smiled to himself - a detour around the village. Far better than going through it.

"I say we take the most pleasant smelling path - there!" He enthusiastically pointed towards the trail and took a long step towards it, rolling his muscles and stretching along the way.

Amaie pushed herself up after him, smiling and glancing towards Freya, also stretching  lazily with a leisurely yawn. She took easy steps, her lgiht blue eyes sparkling as she did a random twirl, listening to rumbling laugh of Kieli.

"Well! This'll be fun!" She giggled, twirling around again.

She gave a silent laugh, grasping her hands behind her back. Raising her multi-colored eyes up to the trees she sighed. Freya hadn't been this calm in a long time. She guessed it was simply the fact that she was in the presence of two others who did not mind that she was a mutt.

Walking up next to Amaie she blinked, "So why are you and your brother alone?"

Was that too forward of a question/ Oh well, it was asked now. Couldn't take it back. But truthfully it was odd to see wolves out of a pack.

Amaie was truly happy to sense a state of calm on the mixed breed, and it allowed her to fully appreciate the situation. A new prescence! Not just her brother, not just her and the rare company that lasted for not such a long time. She smiled to herself, but she was unexpectedly pulled from her thoughts by the voice of Freya. She tilted her head, as if not quite comprehending the question. But her eyes lit up as she realized it and grinned.

"I can't settle for pack-like, everything's simple and so wolf-like. Not that that's a bad thing, oh no, I think it's beautiful.. But I wouldn't mind exploring more, all these wonderful things around us! I can't get enough of everything.. of the people," she said, smiling as her eyes took on a rather dreamy look.

"But my brother.. he simply came along.. for protective reasons I suppose," she added thoughtfully, her eyes lingering on the strong back of her brother.

Kieli's arms were tucked behind his head, fingers laced with the strap of their sack looped over his right arm. He walked along comfortably, a loud yawn emitted as his gait changed slightly, long and more 'marching' out of sheer boredom.
