Of the many cities of Connlaoth, Uthlyn was in a particular kind of buzz one foggy night. Uthlyn was no stranger to night life, her cobbled streets had seen all but too much of it, from both ends of the spectrum. The vices of both the poor and the rich ran through Uthlyn's gilded underbelly, and tonight, it was alive.
It was the eve of a minor Connlaothian festival, although to call it minor that night would have definitely been a mistake. Festivities crowded the streets, Uthlyn's famous whorehouses opened their doors wide to receive patrons, and wine ran through the cobbles like dark veins.
But all of these were reserved for the common populace. There was a place where those of modest sensitivities shunned, the mansion of a very specific lord.
Uthlyn was no stranger to Elaros' presence. He was known around the town, known for the massive, opulent parties thrown at his mansion, known for the fantastic, blood-heating tales that a choice few of Uthlyn's women brought back with them from his bed.
Tonight's party was no different.
Elaros stepped out onto his interior balcony, viewing the festivities that had his entire home jumping with activity. Although his interior balcony only offered him a view of the main hall of his house, he could tell by the ambient sound that festivities were all thriving in other parts as well.
Noblemen and women of only the highest breeding and basest desires could be found here, indulging their vices with one another, one of the countless whores present, or merely a cup of wine. Narcotics and hallucinogenics from the east flowed through Elaros' home like currency, adding another layer of haze to the rooms.
Some rooms were boisterously loud and jovial, with conversations kept lively by musicians playing in the background. In other rooms, quiet carnalities and soft, drugged moans were the only sounds.
Elaros smiled, and raised his glass. The partiers in the main hall all raised their own, and a cheer went through the house.
Elaros himself remained on the balcony, sharp eyes scanning the crowd for his woman of the night.
