Sounds like he definitely fits to me. There's such a huge variety of character types, species, races, and stories around here that a character like yours, with a definite link to the setting you've place him in, he'd fit right in. You have some great potential for long term plottage there anyway since as your little guy grows his magic will probably be a lot harder to hide in Connlaoth.
