The Arcsphere Legend Shortened Summary Version...Thing
The Arcspheres are an ancient race that were created by the gods in their image. They were extremely powerful in magic as it was in their blood. They were few but very prosperous. They had the ability to write magical tomes called grimoires which shared much knowledge of magics and all fundamentals of it. The grimoires would also hold the magics that the individual would write in them, for they believed it would allow their legacy to live forever. To stop other races or enemies from reading them all Arcspheres would encode a protective spell that would render the non-family member powerless and drive them into insanity.
Though created by the gods, they were also wiped out by them as well. The Arcsphere race grew more knowledgeable in magic that they began to use them in everything. Even the simplest of things such as dishes, laundry, and cooking. They also became so prosperous that they no longer wanted to assist or deal with the other races or kingdoms of Levendery. The gods became enraged at what their creations have become and for that they decided to have them pay the ultimate price. So their legend goes, in one night the gods sent forth their guardians wielding their celestial weapons: Rai of Love with the great axe of Sol, Nina of Hate with the scythe of Luna, Demintia of Calm with the bow of Space and arrows of Star, and Inqux of Balance with the staff of Time. Rai was assigned the children who were created of love, Nina was assigned the men and woman who sheltered hold all emotions, Demintia was assigned the elderly who always looked to the gods for guidance, and Inqux was their shield who stilled the night for the raid. When they were all assigned their duties, they quickly began their wipe of the race, disposing of all the Arcspheres in one night. Or so they thought...
In their mass raid, Rai, guardian of Love, could no longer bare his burden stopping before killing a newly born baby girl. He instead, took away what he thought was all of the child's powers to hide her existence from the gods. Turning to flee the scene and hide the baby he is caught by Nina who is enraged by his abandonment. Nina and Rai argued, but Rai refuses to continue his job and Nina decides to take his place. Rai then flees with the new born dropping the baby off at an orphanage turning his back away from the gods and vanishing leaving the baby for what he hoped was forever.
Nina continued both Rai's and her job disposing of the women, men, and children of the Arcsphere race. At the last child Nina could no longer keep her leveled head as the thoughts told by Rai haunted her. In rage towards herself she swiped the young one of his powers and hiding him beneath rags telling the child to live the rest of his life in misery and to blame the other single survivor of their race.
The guardians then returned home to the gods for what they hoped to be a warm welcome in their triumph. Instead the gods punished them as well as the lesser guardians. Saying that the Arcsphere race was such a disappointment that they could no longer trust any creations they have made. The gods then sealed away all the guardians to be put to slumber for the rest of eternity. One of the gods, a flaming phoenix, Rebirth, felt sympathy towards the guardians. Her claim that none could ever be as perfect as the gods and goddesses. This enraged her siblings even more and they then sealed away Phoenix within a grimoire, unknowingly sealing in their fate.
With Rebirth gone, the gods could no longer live their immortal lives and 'Death' quickly took their souls to the underworld where they would join the deceased and their Arcsphere creations.
Rai, in sympathy for his disobedience, returned to his home to find everyone locked away in slumber and the gods themselves gone.
